This paper addresses the operation of radio links under mutual interference conditions, an important problem in spectrum management and radio link design. Some explicit conditions are found for the existence and absence of an eigenvalue in the interval (0, π 2) of the continuous spectrum of the Neumann problem for the Laplace operator in the unit strip with a thin (of width O(ε)) symmetric screen, which, as ε → +0, shrinks into a line segment perpendicular to the sides of the strip. An asymptotics of this eigenvalue is constructed, as well as the asymptotics of the reflection coefficient, which describes Wood’s anomalies, namely, quick changes of the diffraction pattern near a frequency threshold in the continuous spectrum. Charge density fluctuation of low frequency in a dusty plasma   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The charge density fluctuation of low frequency in a dusty plasma, which is derived from the longitudinal dielectric permittivity of the dusty plasma, has been studied by kinetic theory. The results show that theP value, which describes the relative charge density on the dust in the plasma, and the charging frequency of a dust particle Ω c , which describes the ratio of charge changing of the dust particles, determine the character of the charge density fluctuation of low frequency. For a dusty plasma ofP≪1, when the charging frequency Ω c , is much smaller than the dusty plasma frequency ωd, there is a strong charge density fluctuation which is of character of dust acoustic eigenwave. For a dusty plasma ofP≫1, when the frequency Ω c , is much larger than ω d there are weaker fluctuations with a wide spectrum. The results have been applied to the ionosphere and the range of radius and density of dust particles is found, where a strong charge density fluctuation of low frequency should exist.  相似文献

We establish conditions for Spec(M) to be Noetherian and spectral space, w.r.t. different topologies. We used rings with Noetherian spectrum to produce plentiful examples of modules with Noetherian spectrum that have not appeared in the literature previously. In particular, we show that every ?-module has Noetherian spectrum. Another main subject of this article is presenting the conditions under which a module is top. In particular, we show that every distributive module is top, every content weak multiplication R-module M is also top, and moreover, if R has Noetherian spectrum, then Spec(M) is a spectral space.  相似文献

The spectrum of a Hamiltonian cycle (of a Gray code) in an n-dimensional Boolean cube is the series a = (a 1, ..., a n ), where a i is the number of edges of the ith direction in the cycle. The necessary conditions for the existence of a Gray code with the spectrum a are available: the numbers a i are even and, for k = 1, ..., n, the sum of k arbitrary components of a is at least 2 k . We prove that there is some dimension N such that if the necessary condition on the spectrum is also sufficient for the existence of a Hamiltonian cycle with the spectrum in an N-dimensional Boolean cube then the conditions are sufficient for all dimensions n.  相似文献

For a set σ with n complex numbers, some sufficient conditions are found for σ to be the spectrum of an n ×n normal (entrywise) nonnegative (positive) matrix. After proving a fundamental theorem and introducing the companion set σ′ of σ which consists of real numbers, we prove that if σ′ satisfies any known sufficient conditions for a real set to be the spectrum of a nonnegative matrix introduced by Suleimanova, Perfect, Salzmann and Kellogg respectively, then σ is the spectrum of an n×n normal nonnegative matrix.  相似文献

The paper starts with a short survey of the treatment of initial-boundary-value problems in temperature-free linear elasticity with unisotropic media. The main part of the paper is concerned with exterior initial-boundary-value problems in thermoelasticity. In this case the underlying differential operator A is no longer selfadjoint. Thus the spectrum of A has to be discussed. In 2.1 it is shown that all λ with Re λ < 0 belong to the resolvent set. In 2.2 the case G = R3 with homogeneous isotropic media is considered. Let Λ be the essential spectrum in this case. In 2.3 Λ depending on the thermic coupling parameter is discussed. 2.4 treats the spectrum of A assuming the medium to be homogeneous and isotrop outside a large ball. In this case Λ is the essential spectrum for A too. Radiation conditions are formulated. Finally 2.5 presents a short treatment of the time dependent case with Laplace-transformation.  相似文献

Summary We solve a problem of Y. Katznelson: ifG is a locally compact abelian group and if a measure inM(G) has real spectrum, does it follow that the range of its Fourier-Stieljes transform is dense in its spectrum? We give a general construction of continuous measures with real spectrum and singular convolution powers. It is shown that the real spectrum property is strongly related to conditions of quasi-invariance under convolutors and that, in the simple case of quasi-invariance under translations, the range of the Fourier-Stieltjes transform is dense in the spectrum. However, a construction inM 0(T) provides a negative answer to Katznelson's question.  相似文献

In this paper, a modified tangential frequency filtering decomposition (MTFFD) preconditioner is proposed. The optimal order of the modification and the optimal relaxation parameter is determined by Fourier analysis. With the choice of optimal order of modification, the Fourier results show that the condition number of the preconditioned matrix is O(h-\frac23){{\mathcal O}(h^{-\frac{2}{3}})}, and the spectrum distribution of the preconditioned matrix can be predicted by the Fourier results. The performance of MTFFD preconditioner is compared with tangential frequency filtering (TFFD) preconditioner on a variety of large sparse matrices arising from the discretization of PDEs with discontinuous coefficients. The numerical results show that the MTFFD preconditioner is much more efficient than the TFFD preconditioner.  相似文献

In this paper we consider some cases of Sturm–Liouville problems with two singular endpoints at x = 0 and x = which have a simple spectrum, and show that the simplicity of the spectrum can be built into the definition of a Titchmarsh–Weyl m ‐function from which the eigenfunction expansion can be constructed. The use of initial conditions at a point interior to the interval (0,) is avoided in favor of Frobenius solutions near the regular singular point x = 0. In contrast to the classical theory associated with a regular left endpoint, the growth behaviour of the associated spectral functions can be on the order of λβ for any β ∈ (0,). Application of the theory to the Bessel equation on (0,) and to the radial part of the separated hydrogen atom on (0,) is given. In the case of the hydrogen atom a single Titchmarsh–Weyl m ‐function is obtained which completely describes both the discrete negative spectrum and the continuous positive spectrum. For locally constant cocycles defined on an aperiodic subshift, Damanik and Lenz (Duke Math J 133(1): 95–123, 2006) proved that if the subshift satisfies a certain condition (B), then the cocycle is uniform. In this paper, we study simple Toeplitz subshifts. We give a criterion that simple Toeplitz subshifts satisfy condition (B), and also give some sufficient conditions that they do not satisfy condition (B). However, we can still prove the uniformity of Schr?dinger cocycles over any simple Toeplitz subshift. As a consequence, the related Schr?dinger operators have Cantor spectrum of Lebesgue measure 0. We also exhibit a fine structure for the spectrum, and this helps us to prove purely singular continuous spectrum for a large class of simple Toeplitz potentials.  相似文献

The correspondence in two-dimensional elasticity between the stress fields of cavities and rigid inclusions has been obtained by Dundurs [1] and Markenscoff [3]. It was shown that if the limit of the stress of the inclusion boundary-value problem, which depends on the elastic constants, exists when the Poisson's ratio v tends to 1, then this solves the traction boundary-value problem for the cavity problem since it satisfies equilibrium and boundary conditions, and, by the uniqueness theorem, exists and is unique. In three dimensions the solution of the traction boundary-value problem of elasticity does depend on Poisson's ratio since the Beltrami-Mitchell compatability conditions for the stress depend on Poisson's ratio. So the similar argument for the correspondence between cavities and rigid inclusions cannot in principle be made. However, the Beltrami-Mitchell compatability conditions are independent of v if the dilatation is a constant or a linear function of the position. In this case we can show that the same result goes through for the correspondence. In order to investigate the behavior of the solutions in the vicinity of v = 1, we use some results obtained for the Cosserat spectrum by Mikhlin [4], Maz'ya and Mikhlin [3], see also [6]. The existence of the limit for 2D and 3D when v tends to 1 is proved on the basis of the fact that the eigenvalue ω = — 1 of the Cosserat spectrum is isolated.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring and M an R-module. The purpose of this article is to introduce a new class of modules over R called X-injective R-modules, where X is the prime spectrum of M. This class contains the family of top modules and that of weak multiplication modules properly. In this article our concern is to extend the properties of multiplication, weak multiplication, and top modules to this new class of modules. Furthermore, for a top module M, we study some conditions under which the prime spectrum of M is a spectral space for its Zariski topology.  相似文献
