Explicit expressions have been derived for the volume dependence of electron-phonon coupling strength (λ) and the Coulomb pseudopotential (μ*) considering the variation of Fermi momentum (κ F) and Debye temperature (θ D) with volume. Ashcroft’s model pseudopotential and RPA form of dielectric screening have been used for obtaining pressure dependence of transition temperature (T C) and the logarithmic volume derivative (Φ) of the effective interaction strength (N 0 V) for metallic glass superconductor Mg70Zn30. It has been observed that T C of the metallic glass Mg70Zn30 decreases rapidly with increase of pressure and the superconducting phase disappears at about 30% decrease of volume, for which the μ* curve shows a minimum and an elbow is formed in the Φ graph.  相似文献

A linearized form for the screened form factors of electron-phonon interaction in the metallic glass Mg70Zn30 is applied for the first time to predict the superconducting state parameters viz. electron-phonon coupling strength (λ), Coulomb pseudopotential (μ*), transition temperature (T c), isotope effect exponent (α) and the interaction strength (N 0 V). Results of spectroscopic investigations into plasma of a pulse-periodic strontium vapor laser operating in the superradiance mode on the infrared transition at λ = 6.45 μm are presented. The method of determining the electron temperature and concentration as well as the gas temperature – T e , n e , and T g – based on measuring the absolute intensities of some SrI and SrII and buffer gas (helium or neon) spectral lines is used. Time dependences of the line intensities during a current pulse (τ = 150 ns) and near afterglow (up to 3 μs) are obtained under conditions of non-equilibrium plasma ionization and recombination. The optical system collects radiation from the entire length of the plasma column by means of separating radial volume zones, includingthe central zone and the zone closer to the walls, with the monochromator slit. The results obtained allow us not only to calculate T e , n e , and T g values, but also to trace the spatiotemporal plasma evolution.  相似文献

A systematic μ+SR study of the magnetic heavy-electron systems U2Zn17 and UCu5 in the paramagnetic and in the magnetically ordered state is presented. In both systems the antiferromagnetic nature of the low-temperature phase could be at least partially confirmed, but the muon reveals significant differences with regard to the phase transition itself. UCu5 behaves like a model-antiferromagnet showing a drastic increase of the relaxation rate both below and above TN, two spontaneous frequencies in the ordered phase, and a Knight shift above TN which scales with the bulk susceptibility. In contrast U2Zn17 shows a loss of μ+ asymmetry by 20% below TN, which is independent of the external field but can be quenched in sufficiently strong longitudinal fields. No scaling of the Knight shift and the susceptibility was observed and no critical increase of the relaxation rate λ. Most astonishing is the strong and nonlinear field dependence of λ above and below TN in both compounds. The absence of longitudinal relaxation demonstrates the static origin of λ.  相似文献

The theoretical investigation of the superconducting state parameters (SSP) viz. electron-phonon coupling strength λ, Coulomb pseudopotential μ*, transition temperature T c, isotope effect exponent α and effective interaction strength N 0 V of ten Cu C Zr100−C metallic glasses have been reported using Ashcroft’s empty core (EMC) model potential. Three local field correction functions proposed by Hartree (H), Taylor (T) and Ichimaru-Utsumi (IU) are used in the current investigation to study the screening influence on the aforesaid properties. It is observed that the electron-phonon coupling strength λ and the transition temperature T C are quite sensitive to the selection of the local field correction functions, whereas the Coulomb pseudopotential μ*, isotope effect exponent α and effective interaction strength N 0 V show weak dependences on local field correction functions. The T c obtained from IU-local field correction function are found an excellent agreement with available theoretical or experimental data. Also, the present results are found in qualitative agreement with other such earlier reported data, which confirms the superconducting phase in metallic glasses.   相似文献

Zero-field μSR studies of some hexagonal intermetallic compounds are described. Our LaNI5 data provide information on the muon localisation site. This site could be one of the deuterium sites deduced from neutron diffraction. A comparison of the temperature dependence of the exponential damping rate, λ(T), of our samples shows that λ(T) is strongly influenced by crystal field effects. The TbNi5 spectra exhibit two components forT<60 K. We discuss the possible explanations of this result. We see a μSR signal below the magnetic phase transition in GdNi5. This makes the study of the spin-lattice relaxation rate possible in the ordered magnetic state.  相似文献

FePS3 is a layered antiferromagnet (T N=123 K) with a marked Ising anisotropy in magnetic properties. The anisotropy arises from the combined effect of the trigonal distortion from octahedral symmetry and spin-orbit coupling on the orbitally degenerate5 T 2g ground state of the Fe2+ ion. The anisotropic paramagnetic susceptibilities are interpreted in terms of the zero field Hamiltonian, ℋ=Σi [δ(L iz 2 −2)+|λ|L i .S i ]−Σ ij J ij S i .S j . The crystal field trigonal distortion parameter Δ, the spin-orbit coupling λ and the isotropic Heisenberg exchange,J ij, were evaluated from an analysis of the high temperature paramagnetic susceptibility data using the Correlated Effective Field (CEF) theory for many-body magnetism developed by Lines. Good agreement with experiment were obtained for Δ/k=215.5 K; λ/k=166.5 K;J nn k=27.7 K; andJ nnn k=−2.3 K. Using these values of the crystal field and exchange parameters the CEF predicts aT N=122 K for FePS3, which is remarkably close to the observed value of theT N. The accuracy of the CEF approximation was also ascertained by comparing the calculated susceptibilities in the CEF with the experimental susceptibility for the isotropic Heisenberg layered antiferromagnet MnPS3, for which the high temperature series expansion susceptibility is available.  相似文献

The Lamé polynomials naturally arise when separating variables in Laplace's equation in elliptic coordinates. The products of these polynomials form a class of spherical harmonics, which are joint eigenfunctions of a quantum completely integrable (QCI) system of commuting, second-order differential operators P 0=Δ, P 1,…,P N −1 acting on C (? N ). These operators naturally depend on parameters and thus constitute an ensemble. In this paper, we compute the limiting level-spacings distributions for the zeroes of the Lamé polynomials in various thermodynamic, asymptotic regimes. The g-factor of the exteremely proton-rich nucleus 23Al(T 1 / 2 = 0.47 s) has been measured for the first time, applying β-NMR technique on this nucleus implanted in Si. The obtained ∣g∣ = (1.58 ± 0.2) suggests that the spin of the ground state of 23Al is 5 / 2. The magnetic moment is determined as ∣μ∣ = (3.95 ± 0.55) μ N .  相似文献

A one-dimensional diagonal tight binding electronic system with dichotomic correlated disorder in the presence of external d.c field is investigated. It is found numerically that the conductance distribution obeys fairly well to log-normal distribution in weak disorder strength in localized regime, which indicates validity of single parameter scaling theory in this limit. Contrary to the universal cumulant relation C 1 = 2C 2 in the absence of d.c. field, we demonstrated numerically that C 1 ≫ 2C 2 in the presence of the field in localized regime. We interpret this result as suppression of the fluctuation effects by the external field. In addition, it is obtained that the quantity NF c , here N is the system size and F c is the crossover field, decreases as the as the system energy E increases. Moreover, we find numerically a simple linear relation between the average logarithm of the conductance 〈ln(g)〉 and the field strength as 〈ln(g)〉 = C(N, λ)F, here C(N, λ) is a constant for particular values of N and λ, which is the Poisson parameter of the dichotomic process.  相似文献

Electron microscopy observations of replicas of freeze-fractured samples of two columnar hexagonal phases of different nature (a lyotropic one, the inverse AOT in water; a thermotropic one, ) yield very different results: most defects at microscopic scales are screw dislocations in the lyotropic phase, longitudinal edge dislocations in the thermotropic phase. A possible way to interpret these differences is as follows: in the lyotropic the Lamé coefficients and μ and the bend modulus K3 would not display any anomaly compared to expected values; in the thermotropic the shear modulus μ would be ten times smaller than the compressibility modulus , while K3 would still be comparable to (but larger than) the bend modulus of a small molecules liquid crystal. We present an elementary theoretical model of the latter case which could explain the anomalous measurements of K3 and of the longitudinal compressibility (Ref. [#!ref10!#]) without contradicting more recent measurements of (Refs. [#!ref17!#,#!ref22!#]). Essentially, the hexagonal phase would be a phase with defects (longitudinal dislocations) akin to an hexatic phase but with some differences. The thermo-optic coefficients, dn/dT, were determined for pure and Yb(20 at.%)-doped monoclinic KY(WO4)2 crystals for light polarized along the optical indicatrix axes (N p,N m and N g) in the wavelength range of 0.36–1.06 μm by a laser beam deviation method. The absolute values of thermo-optic coefficients satisfy the relation |dn p/dT|>|dn g/dT|>|dn m/dT| and increase with the wavelength increasing. In the long-wavelength range, all the dn/dT values are negative: dn p/dT=−14.6, dn m/dT=−8.9, dn g/dT=−12.4 [10−6 K−1] for pure KY(WO4)2 at 1.06 μm. The dependency of thermo-optic coefficients on the wavelength was modeled using an approach that takes into account contribution of volumetric thermal expansion and change of electronic bandgap with temperature. Large volumetric expansion of KY(WO4)2 plays a key role in the observed negative dn/dT values. Electronic bandgap and its temperature coefficient were determined for KY(WO4)2 crystals from thermo-optic dispersion curves as E g=4.8–5.0 eV and −dE g/dT=0.7–1.1×10−4 eV/K. Athermal propagation directions were calculated for KY(WO4)2 crystals at the wavelength of 1.06 μm for light polarizations EN m and N p.  相似文献

We analyze the dependence of heavy quark free energies on the baryon chemical potential μb in 2-flavor QCD by performing a 6th order Taylor expansion in the chemical potential which circumvents the sign problem. The bare quark mass at corresponds to a pion mass of about 770 MeV and is thus not in the range of physical quark masses but the quark mass dependence is known to be small above Tc. At Nτ = 4 the lattices are coarse, however, we are using improved (p4 staggered) fermions. The Taylor expansion coefficients of color singlet and color averaged free energies are calculated and from this the expansion coefficients for the corresponding screening masses are determined. We find that for small μb the free energies of a static quark-antiquark pair decrease in a medium with a net excess of quarks and that screening is well described by a screening mass which increases with increasing μb. The μb-dependent corrections to the screening masses are well described by perturbation theory for T ≳ 2Tc. In particular, we find for all temperatures above Tc that the expansion coefficients for singlet and color averaged screening masses differ by a factor 2. The magnetic ordering process of Ising spins on diluted square lattice was studied by muon spin relaxation using model compounds Rb2Co c Mg1−c F4. Muon relaxation shows an anomaly at a remarkably higher temperature T N μSR than the transition temperature determined by neutron Bragg scattering T N ND near the percolation threshold for square lattice (c p=0.593). The difference between the two temperatures amounts to 50% of T N ND just above c p. The field cooling effect of DC magnetic susceptibility is appreciable below T N ND while the temperature of the anomaly in AC susceptibility approaches to T N μSR as the frequency is increased. It was concluded that there is a crossover from two-dimensional ordering at T N μSR to three-dimensional ordering at T N ND but the two-dimensional order between T N μSR and T N ND has slow fluctuations due to the fractal structure with a plenty of weak links. We report on transverse field muon spin rotation measurements on a nitrogen-rich type Ia diamond, both before and after the conversion of some of the aggregated nitrogen centres to nitrogen-vacancy complexes known as H2/H3-centres. The prompt fractions f and the spin relaxation rates λ were determined for the diamagnetic (μd) and the paramagnetic (MuT) states in the temperature range 10–300 K. The production of the nitrogen-vacancy complexes had little effect on the parameters of the MuT state for which f and λ remained unchanged at approximately 30% and 4 μs−1, respectively. For the μd state, on the other hand, the formation of the H2/H3-centres resulted in an increase of the prompt fraction from 10(2)% to 20(3)%, and (for the first time) the spin relaxation rate showed a non-zero value of 0.020(3) μs−1. These results show evidence of strong μd interactions with the nitrogen-vacancy complexes in diamond, and suggest a more complex structure for this state than a bare μ+. The real part R s and the imaginary part X s of the surface impedance Z s=R s+ iX s of Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8−δ and YBa2Cu3O6.95 single crystals have been measured with high precision at frequency ω/2π=9.4 GHz in the temperature range 0<T<140 K. In the Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8−δ crystal a linear temperature dependence R s(T) has been found for T⩽50 K, and the magnetic field penetration depth λ(4.2 K)=X s(4.2 K)/ω μ 0≈3760 Å has been measured. Along with well known features of the function Z s(T) in high-quality YBa2Cu3O6.95 single crystals, such as the linearity of λ(T) and R s(T) for T<T c/3 and a maximum of R s(T) at TT c/2, the linearity range of λ(T) extends to T≃50 K, and this curve has a plateau in the range 60<T<85 K. The curve of R s(T) in both the superconducting and normal states of YBa2Cu3O6.95 is well described by a two-fluid model with the electron-phonon mechanism of quasiparticle relaxation. The field dependence of the vibrational contribution to the dynamic magnetic permeability μ V(H) is calculated for a thin (of thickness dλ) high-T c superconducting wafer in a magnetic field parallel to the surface. The resulting curves are plotted on the basis of an exact numerical analysis of the vortex structures both for the thermodynamic-equilibrium vortex lattice and in the presence of pinning forces and the Bean-Livingston surface barrier. It is shown that the μ V(H) curves are highly sensitive to the size factor (d/λ) and exhibit abrupt changes corresponding to a change in the number of vortex rows. The equilibrium μ V(H) curve is found to be similar in its general behavior and absolute value (obtained with allowance for the distribution of grain sizes and with appropriate values of λ and ϰ) to the experimental μ V(H) curve plotted at nitrogen temperature for fine-grained YBa2Cu3Ox with grain diameters 〈D〉∼λ in an increasing magnetic field. It is established that the main cause of the experimentally observed irreversible behavior of the μ V(H) curves during cyclic variation of the applied magnetic field is the existence of a surface barrier to the exit of vortices from the superconductor. The lower limit H min(B) of stability of the mixed state in the presence of an ideal surface barrier in a thin, high-T c superconducting wafer (dλ) is determined, along with the range of the vortex state (H max-H min) for a fixed number of vortices in micrometer-size grains of the investigated YBaCuO samples. The longitudinal and transverse magnetostriction λ of the spin-Peierls compound CuGeO3 in the b-c plane is measured in magnetic fields up to 20 T both above and below the transition temperature T sp=14.3K. It is found that for a given crystallographic direction the value of magnetostriction is weakly dependent on the magnetic field direction. In the uniform U phase at TT sp, λ is negative and approximately equal in the b and c directions, while in the dimerized D phase at T<T sp, λ is positive and λ b >λ c . At low temperatures, λ increases sharply at the magnetic-field-induced transition from the dimerized to the magnetic M phase. The experimental data allow estimation of the stress derivatives of the antiferromagnetic intrachain exchange interaction parameter and of the stress dependence of the critical field of the D-Mphase transition. Five local field correction functions proposed by Hartree (H), Taylor (T), Ichimaru-Utsumi (IU), Farid et al. (F) and Sarkar et al. (S) are used in the present investigation to study the screening influence on the aforesaid properties. It is observed that the electron-phonon coupling strength λ and the transition temperature T C are quite sensitive to the selection of the local field correction functions, whereas the Coulomb pseudopotential μ*, isotope effect exponent α and effective interaction strength N O V show weak dependences on the local field correction functions. The T C obtained from H-local field correction function are found in qualitative agreement with available experimental data and show almost linear nature with the concentration (C) of ‘Ga’ element. A linear T C equation is proposed by fitting the present outcomes for H-local field correction function, which is in conformity with other results for the experimental data. Also, the present results are found to be in qualitative agreement with other such earlier reported data, which confirms the superconducting phase in the metallic glasses.   相似文献

The glass transition temperature and the dynamics of the α-process have been investigated using dielectric relaxation spectroscopy for single and stacked thin films of poly(2-chlorostyrene) (P2CS). The stacked film consists of 10 layers of single thin films with thickness of 12 nm or 18 nm. The glass transition temperature T g of the single thin films of P2CS is found to decrease with decreasing film thickness in a similar way as observed for polystyrene thin films. The magnitude of the depression of T g for the stacked thin films is larger than that of the single thin films with corresponding thickness. The depression of the temperature at which the dielectric loss shows a peak due to the α-process at a given frequency, T α, is larger than that of the single thin films, although the magnitude is smaller than that of T g . Annealing at a high temperature could cause the T g and T α of the stacked thin films to approach the values of the bulk system.  相似文献
