The Bartle-Graves theorem extends the Banach open mapping principle to a family of linear and bounded mappings, thus showing that surjectivity of each member of the family is equivalent to the openness of the whole family. In this paper we place this theorem in the perspective of recent concepts and results, and present a general Bartle-Graves theorem for set-valued mappings. As applications, we obtain versions of this theorem for mappings defined by systems of inequalities, and for monotone variational inequalities.

We modify the definitions of continuity and lower semicontinuity for single-valued mappings and upper and lower semicontinuity for set-valued mappings. For single-valued mappings we have a generalisation of Osgood's theorem and for set-valued mappings we have an extension of Fort's theorem and a generalisation of Michael's selection theorem producing a densely defined selection with a natural continuity property relative to the domain.  相似文献

We study the differentiability of mappings in the geometry of Carnot-Carathéodory spaces under the condition of minimal smoothness of vector fields. We introduce a new concept of hc-differentiability and prove the hc-differentiability of Lipschitz mappings of Carnot-Carathéodory spaces (a generalization of Rademacher’s theorem) and a generalization of Stepanov’s theorem. As a consequence, we obtain the hc-differentiability almost everywhere of the quasiconformal mappings of Carnot-Carathéodory spaces. We establish the hc-differentiability of rectifiable curves by way of proof. Moreover, the paper contains a new proof of the functorial property of the correspondence “a local basis ? the nilpotent tangent cone.”  相似文献

The growth theorem and the 1/2-covering theorem are obtained for the class of normalized biholomorphic convex mappings on bounded convex circular domains, which extend the corresponding results of Sufridge, Thomas, Liu, Gong, Yu, and Wang. The approach is new, which does not appeal to the automorphisms of the domains; and the domains discussed are rather general on which convex mappings can be studied, since the domain may not have a convex mapping if it is not convex. First, we consider a strongly continuous semigroup of nonexpansive mappings defined on a closed convex subset of a complete CAT(0) space and prove a convergence of a Mann iteration to a common fixed point of the mappings. This result is motivated by a result of Kirk (2002) and of Suzuki (2002). Second, we obtain a result on limits of subsequences of Mann iterations of multivalued nonexpansive mappings on metric spaces of hyperbolic type, which leads to a convergence theorem for nonexpansive mappings on these spaces.  相似文献

In this paper, our main aim is to introduce the concept of planar p-harmonic mappings and investigate the properties of these mappings. First, we discuss the p-harmonic Bloch mappings. Two estimates on the Bloch constant are obtained, which are generalizations of the main results in Colonna (1989) [9]. As a consequence of these investigations, we establish a Bloch and Landau's theorem for p-harmonic mappings.  相似文献

In this paper, the class of nonspreading mappings in Banach spaces is introduced. This class contains the recently introduced class of firmly nonexpansive type mappings in Banach spaces and the class of firmly nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces. Among other things, we obtain a fixed point theorem for a single nonspreading mapping in Banach spaces. The main purpose of this paper is to prove a collection of new fixed point theorems for so-called weakly F-contractive mappings. By analogy, we introduce also a class of strongly F-expansive mappings and we prove fixed point theorems for such mappings. We provide a few examples, which illustrate these results and, as an application, we prove an existence and uniqueness theorem for the generalized Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. Finally, in Appendix A, we apply the Mönch fixed point theorem to prove two results on the existence of approximate fixed points of some continuous mappings.  相似文献

J. B. Baillon [C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris Ser. A.280 (1975), 1511–1514] proved an ergodic theorem for a single nonexpansive mapping in a Hilbert space, which is a nonlinear version of von Neumann's mean ergodic theorem. In this paper, we study the ergodic behavior of a semigroup of nonexpansive mappings. We try to find a sequence of means on the semigroup, generalizing the Cesàro means on N, such that the corresponding sequence of nonexpansive mappings converges to a projection onto the set of common fixed-points. Our method of proof is an appropriate modification of A. Pazy's proof [Israel J. Math.26 (1977), 197–204] of Baillon's theorem.  相似文献

A common fixed point theorem for weakly commuting quasi contractive self mappings with contracting orbital diameters in metric spaces [V. Berinde, A common fixed point theorem for quasi contractive type mappings, Ann. Univ. Sci. In this paper, we prove a strong convergence theorem for relatively nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space by using the hybrid method in mathematical programming.
