The reaction e p→e'pπ0 has been measured at W=2.55 GeV a fixed electron scattering angle of 10.3°. Two magnetic spectrometers and a lead glass hodoscope were used to detect all four final state particles. Electroproduction cross sections in the t range ?0.15 to ?1.4 (GeV/c)2 at q2 = ?0.22, ?0.55 and ?0.85 (GeV/c)2 are presented. Above |t|=0.6 (GeV/c)2 the cross sections are considerably smaller than those for photoproduction.  相似文献

New data of the electroexcitation cross section on protons and deuterons in the resonance region are compared with the results in the deep inelastic region for four-momentum transfers q2 ? 1.5 (GeV/c)2. The Bloom-Gilman sum rule is shown to hold for q2 ? 1.2 (GeV/c) while the Rittenberg-Rubinstein sum rule is saturated for q2 ? 0.4 (GeV/c)2. It is shown that the sum rules do not saturate in a local way.  相似文献

The differential cross sections for K?p and pp elastic scattering have been measured over the range of four-momentum transfer squared 0.18<?t<3.3 (GeV/c)2. The K?p data decrease smoothly as a function of ?t, whereas, the pp data shows a break at ?t = 0.6 (GeV/c)2 followed by a fast drop to ?t ? 1.6 (GeV/c)2 where the differential cross section levels off and stays constant out to ?t = 3 (GeV/c)2.  相似文献

The ration R = σ(e+e? → hadrons)σμμ was measured between 12.0 and 36.7 GeV c.m. energy W with a precision of typically ± 5.2%. R is found to be constant with an average R = 4.01 ± 0.03 (stat) ± (syst.) for W ? 14 GeV. Quarks are found to be point-like, the mass parameter describing a possible quark form-factor being larger than 186 GeV. Fits including QCD corrections and a weak neutral-current contribution are presented.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for π?p and pp elastic scattering have been measured at incident momenta ranging from 30 to 345 GeV and in the t range 0.002 (GeV/c)2 ? |t| ? 0.04 (GeV/c)2. From the analysis of the data, the ratio ? (t = 0) of the real to the imaginary parts of the forward scattering amplitude was determined together with the logarithmic slope b of the diffraction cone.The results on the real parts confirm the validity of the forward dispersion relations at high energies. Using the dispersion relations, it was shown that the experimental data on ?π?p(t = 0) require a continuous rise of the total πp cross sections, at least up to the energy of 2000 GeV, thus revealing a close similarity in high-energy behaviour of πp and pp interactions.The results on the slope parameters from this experiment together with the analysis of the available world data demonstrate that the existing experimental data are consistent with the hypothesis of a universal shrinkage of the hadronic diffraction cone at high energies. The value of the asymptotic shrinkage parameter αp was found to be independent of the kind of the incident hadron and of the momentum transfer in the t range |t| ? 0.2 (GeV/c)2 : 2αp = ± 3 (GeV/c)?2.  相似文献

We report our first measurements of the polarization in the elastic scattering of negative pions from polarized protons at an incident pion momentum of 40 GeV/c. The momentum-transfer region covered was 0.08 < |t| < 1.3 (GeV/c)2. The angular distribution of the polarization exhibits a first minimum of ~ ? 5% and the well-known zero around t ≈ ? 0.6 (GeV/c)2. The energy variation of the first minimum (at around t = ? 0.2) may be expressed in a simple form, Pavr= ?(0.48±0.06) s ?0.52±0.05.  相似文献

Inclusive K0-production has been measured in e+e- annihilation at a center of mass energy of about W = 30 GeV. The ratio of K0 + K0 production to μ+μ- production is RK0 = 5.6 ± 1.1 (statist. error) ± 0.8 (system.error) This value is about a factor of three higher than RK0 at W = 7 GeV. The cross sections (s/β) dσ/dx is consistent with a scaling behaviour.  相似文献

Antiproton-proton elastic scattering data at 6.2 GeV/c in the range 0.3 (GeV/c)2 ? ?t ? 10.0 (GeV/c)2 is presented. The experiment, using spark chambers and proportional chambers, was performed at the CERN Proton Synchroton.The dip at about ?t = 0.5 and the structure at about ?t = 2.2 (GeV/c)2 are equally strong at 6.2 GeV/c as they are at 5.0 GeV/c. The differential cross sections around 90° c.m. are not very different at 5.0 GeV/c and at 6.2 GeV/c, whereas in the backward region there is a decrease of the order of one magnitude.  相似文献

We have measured the polarization in π? backward elastic scattering at 2.22, 2.46, 2.71 and 3.50 GeV/c incident momenta, in the u-range?1.0 ≦u≦0.1 (GeV/c)2. The experiment used a polarized proton target and detected both pions and protons. We have found large discrepancies between the new data and the result of even the latest phase-shift analysis.  相似文献

Inclusive ?0 and f(1270) production are analysed in π+p collisions at 8, 16 and 23 GeV/c. The ?0 cross section increases with energy such that the ?0? ratio remains constant. Emphasis is laid on cross sections as a function of the transverse momentum and of the Feynman x variable. The ?0's can be attributed to two sources: some ?0's are centrally produced, but there is a pronounced forward peak. The distribution of leptons coming from ?0 decay is discussed.  相似文献

Data are presented for the reaction ep → epπ0 at a nominal momentum transfer squared of 1.0 (GeV/c)2. The data were obtained using an extracted electron beam from NINA and two magnetic spectrometers for coincidence detection of the electron and proton. Inclusive coherent proton dissociation on helium has been measured for a missing mass near the threshold of one-pion production, in the |t| range 0.05–1.6 (GeV/c)2 and at an alpha incident momentum of 7.0 GeV/c. A strong t-slope dependence of the cross section at |t| ? 0.2 (GeV/c)2 is followed at larger |t| by a less structured distribution. Data were analyzed using the Glauber-Margolis formula and by assuming a peripheral elementary diffraction amplitude for the production process.  相似文献

Results on the reaction ep→e′nπ+ are presented in the mass range 1.355 ?W ?1.775 GeV at q2=1GeV2 and in the range 1.415 ? W ? 1.595 GeV at q2=0.6 GeV2. High statistics data for the reactions K±p → KS0π±p at 10 GeV/c are analysed. The K1(1?), K1(2+), and K1(3?) resonance parameters and production cross sections are calculated. The Kπ production amplitudes are determined as a function of t and the produced Kπ mass. Isoscalar natural-parity-exchange (NPE) is dominant. The t dependence of the K± NPE amplitudes have a cross-over at t = ?0.3 (GeV/c)2 for both K1(890) and K1(1420) production, being more pronounced for the K1(1420). Natural-parity-exchange interference effects are isolated. The NPE amplitudes are decomposed into pomeron-, f-, and ω-exchange contributions. S-wave Kπ production is found to be consistent with the Kπ partial-wave analyses of charge-exchange reactions.  相似文献

We have carried out a partial-wave analysis of ππ scattering in the mass range 1.0 to 2.08 GeV/c2. We find solutions similar to those obtained in previous analyses below 1.8 GeV/c2 but, in addition, we obtain a new solution which does not suffer from violations of unitarity and is compatible with data from other channels. This solution, when continued to 2.08 GeV/c2, shows a g meson with mass and width of 1.734± 0.010 GeV/c2and 0.322±0.035 GeV/c2 respectively, and an h meson with mass 1.935±0.013 GeV/c2and width 0.263±0.057 GeV/c2. The L = 2 partial wave contains the f meson and an additional resonance with parameters m = 1.502±0.025 Gev/c2, Γ = 0.165±0.042 GeV/c2and x = 0.19±0.03. If we associate this state with the f′(1514), our ππ branching fraction is considerably higher than previous determinations. An SU(3) fit to the 2+ nonet yields a mixing angle of 38.4± 1.3°.  相似文献

A study is presented of the inclusive production cross sections of K(892) vector mesons in pp interactions at 12 and 24 GeV/c and in π+p interactions at 16 GeV/c. The K inclusive cross section is ~0.9 mb for both pp at 24 GeV/c and π+p interactions at 16 GeV/c. For pp interactions, σ(K1+) and σ(K1?) are seen to rise with energy, showing a threshold behaviour. In both pp and π+p interactions, σ(K1+) largely exceeds σ(K1?) at these energies and this excess is interpreted as K1+ production by beam and target fragmentations. The decays of K1±0 yield ~30% of the K0 observed in the final states. The pT2 dependence of both K1+ and K1? cross sections is described by an exponential with slope of ~3.3 (GeV/c)?2. The longitudinal momentum spectra for K1+ in 16 GeV/cπ+p and 24 GeV/c pp interactions are similar in shape in the target hemisphere. The K1? spectra are similar over the whole kinematic region when viewed in the quark c.m.s. and point to a central production mechanism. Comparing K1+ and ρ0 production, striking similarities are found.  相似文献
