For each irreducible representation [] ofU(n), a discrete irreducible unitary representation ofSp(n) is constructed for which the oscillator Hamiltonian is bounded from below with its ground-state eigenspace transforming according to [] underU(n). A basis of eigenstates for the harmonic oscillator is determined and the action of the Lie algebrasp(n) on that basis explicitly given. Connections with the Bohr collective vibrational model are established.  相似文献

Bohr's well-known claim that only a registered phenomenon is a true phenomenon is further elaborated into occurrence in the past: If ideal occurrence of an eventP ((1–P)) is a state at a timet i makes another eventQ ((1–Q))certain at a later timet f, and, finallyU is the evolution operator fromt i tot f, then, it is proved that the final collapsed stateQ(U U +)Q/TrQU U +, which comes about in ideal occurrence ofQ att f,equals the initial collapsed stateU(P P/TrP)U +, which evolves from the state resulting from the ideal occurrence ofP in att i. Utilizing the latter state is called theretroactive apparent ideal occurrence (RAIO) ofP in. A number of consequences, including the general notion of twin events (the case whent f=t i, andU=1) is derived. It is pointed out that RAIO is relevant in second-kind quantum measurement, in Wheeler's delayed-choice experiments in second-kind (or conditional) quantum preparators.  相似文献

In anSU(6) grand unification model with eight quarks and eight leptons belonging to 15-plet and singlet representations, the symmetry is spontaneously broken by the sequenceSU(6)SU(3) c ×SU(2)×U(1)×U(1)SU(3) c ×U(1). Fror two cases of symmetry breakings the effective weak neutral current coupling constants are compared with experiment. For theSU(3) c ×SU(2)×U(1)×U(1)×SU(3) c ×U(1) symmetry breaking, the coupling constants reproduce the Weinberg-Salam model with a small correction term. Agreement with the experimental mean values is improved with the correction term. Parity violation in atomic physics is also discussed.  相似文献

We prove that the nonlinear realization ofS U(nS U(n) (n3) is uniquely determined by the requirement that the Lagrangian, with a minimal number of derivatives of those fields parametrizing the adjoint representation of the diagonalS U(n) subgroup, is localizable in the sense of Jaffe.  相似文献

We derive duality relations for a class ofU q [SU(2)]-symmetric stochastic processes, including among others the asymmetric exclusion process in one dimension. Like the known duality relations for symmetric hopping processes, these relations express certainm-point correlation functions inN-particle systems (Nm) in terms of sums of correlation functions of the same system but with onlym particles. For the totally asymmetric case we obtain exact expressions for some boundary density correlation functions. The dynamical exponent for these correlators isz=2, which is different from the dynamical exponent for bulk density correlations, which is known to bez=3/2.  相似文献

We show that an irreducible representation of a quantized enveloping algebraU at a th root of 1 has maximal dimension (= N ) if the corresponding symplectic leaf has maximal dimension (=2N). The method of the proof consists of a construction of a sequence of degenerations ofU , the last one being aq-commutative algebraU (2N) . This allows us to reduce many problems concerningU to that concerningU (2N) .To Armand Borel on his 70th birthdaySupported in part by the NSF grant DMS-9103792  相似文献

It is shown that an unbounded *-derivation of a unital commutativeC*-algebraA is quasi well-behaved if and only if there is a dense open subsetU of the spectrum ofA such that, for anyf in the domain of , (f) vanishes at any point ofU wheref attains its norm. An example is given to show that even if is closed it need not be quasi well-behaved. This answers negatively a question posed by Sakai for arbitraryC*-algebras.It is also shown that there are no-zero closed derivations onA if the spectrum ofA contains a dense open totally disconnected subset.  相似文献

To describe the evolution of separated entities remaining separated, we proposeto study endomorphisms (join-preserving maps, sending atoms to atoms) of theseparated product of cao lattices (complete, atomistic orthocomplementedlattices). Morphisms have been used successfully to describe the evolution ofentities, and the separated product is a model for the property lattice of separatedsystems; its set of atoms is the Cartesian product of each atom space. Let L bethe separated product of two cao lattices having the covering property and f anendomorphism of L. We prove that the center F(L) of L is the power set of1 × 2 where i is the atom space ofF(L i ) (Theorem 1), f preserves irreduciblecomponents (Theorem 2), and if L is irreducible there exist two endomorphismsf 1 and f 2 and a permutation such that the restriction of f to atoms is given byf(p 1, p 2) = (f 1(p (1)), f 2(p (2)))(Theorem 3). For generalizations of these resultsto separated products of families of cao lattices, we develop new general argumentsinvolving a topology we define on the set of atoms of a cao lattice.  相似文献

We formulate a conjecture stating that the algebra ofn pairs of deformed Bose creation and annihilation operators is a factor algebra of U q [osp(1/2n)], considered as a Hopf algebra, and prove it for then = 2 case. To this end, we show that for any value ofq, U q [osp(1/4)] can be viewed as a superalgebra freely generated by two pairsB 1 ± ,B 2 ± of deformed para-Bose operators. We write down all Hopf algebra relations, an analogue of the Cartan-Weyl basis, the commutation relations between the generators and a basis in U q [osp(1/2n)] entirely in terms ofB 1 ± ,B 2 ± .  相似文献

We review some exact results for the motion of a tagged particle in simple models. Then, we study the density dependence of the self-diffusion coefficientD N() in lattice systems with simple symmetric exclusion in which the particles can jump, with equal rates, to a set ofN neighboring sites. We obtain positive upper and lower bounds onF N()=N{(1–)–[DN()/DN(0)]}/[(1–)]x for [0, 1]. Computer simulations for the square, triangular, and one-dimensional lattices suggest thatF N becomes effectively independent ofN forN20.  相似文献

This article deals with the calculation of the influence of the magnetic field upon the electric current of a thermionic converter presupposing the approach to conditions in a low-pressure cesium converter. The distribution of the starting velocities of the emitted electrons is considered firstly as independent of the angle from the perpendicular to the emitter plane, and secondly according to the cosine law.The magnetic field effect from the converter current is calculated and compared with the calculations in the papers by Schock [1] and Block [2]; the effect of the external magnetic field is verified by measurements on a solar thermionic converter prototype.Symbols F=I/I 0 factor of current reduction from magnetic field effect - ¯F value of factorF (when the magnetic field is not constant) - I [A/m2] density of collector current (real current influenced by magnetic field) - I 0 [A/m2] theoretical density of collector current (in ideal case equals electron emission current) - T e [°K] electron gas temperature; assumed equal to emitter temperatureT E [°K] - B[Wb/m2] magnetic induction (field) - D[m] distance from emitter to collector - R[m] radius of electrodes, emitter and collector - r[m] variable radius in the limits 0 toR - V [m/s] random velocity of electron - v xz [m/s] component of the vectorV inx-z plane - v m =2kT E /m most probable velocity in the velocity distribution according to Maxwell and Boltzmann - w-v xz /v m relatively expressed electron velocityv xz - the angle of any vectorV - [m] radius of circular electron path - n [m–3] number (density) of electrons with certain value of random velocity - n 0 [m–3] total electron number (density) - n 1 [m–3] number of electrons returned to emitter by means of magnetic field - N 0 [m–2s–1] total flow of thermionic electrons emitted from a unit surface - N 1 [m–2s–1] partial flow of electrons returned to emitter - P=N 1/N0 relatively expressed flow of electrons returned to emitter (whenB = const.) - ¯P mean value ofP (whenB const.) - F cos, ,P cos, values asF,¯F,P,¯P in case of velocity distribution according to cosine law - m=9·107×10–31 [gk] electron mass - e=1·60×10–19 [C] electron charge - k×1·38×10–23 [J/grad] Boltzmann's constant - 0 1·257×10–6 [H/Vs] permeability of vacuum  相似文献

Signature of chaos in power spectrum   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We investigate the nature of the numerically computed power spectral densityP(f, N, τ) of a discrete (sampling time interval,τ) and finite (length,N) scalar time series extracted from a continuous time chaotic dynamical system. We highlight howP(f, N, τ) differs from the true power spectrum and from the power spectrum of a general stochastic process. Non-zeroτ leads to aliasing;P(f, N, τ) decays at high frequencies as [πτ/sinπτf]2, which is an aliased form of the 1/f 2 decay. This power law tail seems to be a characteristic feature of all continuous time dynamical systems, chaotic or otherwise. Also the tail vanishes in the limit ofN → ∞, implying that the true power spectral density must be band width limited. In striking contrast the power spectrum of a stochastic process is dominated by a term independent of the length of the time series at all frequencies.  相似文献

TheW KP (N) algebra has been identified with the second Hamiltonian structure in theNth Hamiltonian pair of the KP hierarchy. In this Letter, by constructing the Miura map that decomposes the second Hamiltonian structure in theNth pair of the KP hierarchy, we show thatW KP (N) can also be decomposed toN independent copies ofW KP (1) algebras, therefore its free-field realization can be worked out by constructing free fields for each copy ofW KP (1) . In this way, the free fields may consist ofN + 2n number of bosons, among them, 2n are in pairs, wheren is an arbitrary integer between 1 andN. We also express the currents ofW KP (N) in terms of the currents ofNn copies of U(1) andn copies of SL(2,R) k algebras with levelk = 1. By reductions, we give similar results forW (N) andW 3 (2) algebra.  相似文献

All inequivalent continuous unitary irreducible representations ofS U(N, 1) (N2) have been determined and classified. The matrix elements of the infinitesimal generators realized on a certain Hilbert space have been derived. Representations of the groups ,S U(N, 1)/Z N+1, andU(N, 1) are classified in a similar manner.  相似文献

A gauge type model of quantum field theory for strong interactions based on a quinted of observed fields, namely the proton, neutron, , c and b baryon fields is proposed. Gauging the resulting global symmetry groupK= SU(3)×1 U(1)×2 U(1)×3 U(1) for matter fields, one obtains boson-fermion field theory with eleven gauge bosons. The analysis of admissible Higgs sector indicates that the Higgs multiple consists of one adjoint and two fundamental representationsSU(3) and three scalar representations of1 U(1),2 U(1) and3 U(1). The structure of the Higgs sector implies that the original symmetry group extends to the groupK×U(2). Breaking spontaneously the obtained field theory, one converts gauge bosons into the eleven massive vector bosons which can be identified with the observed , K*, ¯K*, , , J/ and Y vector mesons. The surviving global symmetry is isomorphic with the symmetry groupSU(2)× 0 U(1)× ×1 U(1)×2 U(1)×3 U(1) corresponding to the isospin, strangeness, baryon number, charm and beauty conservation observed in strong interactions. The surviving Higgs scalars have the same quantum numbers as , K, ¯K, , S, , , and b mesons. The model gives a newSU(3) classification scheme for baryons without charm and beauty in terms of triplets, sextets and 15-plets. These multiplets can be identified with the observed baryons; the scheme also includes the observed Z0 and Z1 baryons (the experimental evidence of which is, nevertheless, still weak). The model predicts the existence and the specific quantum numbers of new mesons and baryons with charm and beauty, and provides a very simple framework for the dibaryon analysis. Since all final physical fields are massive, this model is free from infrared divergences.Invited talk presented at the International Conference Selected Topics in Quantum Field Theory and Mathematical Physics, Bechyn, Czechoslovakia, June 23–27, 1986.  相似文献

On the basis of the expansion of the distribution function in a sum of the spherical harmonics, the distribution functionf(v, r, t) is expanded in a series of scalar products of two Cartesian tensors term by term, i.e. The tensors and (l) (l=2, 3) are constructed in dependence on the spherical harmonic expansion coefficients (the tensors and (l) (l=0, 1) have been constructed by Jancel and Kahan [3]). On the basis of the knowledge of the analytic form off 2 andf 3 the equations forf 1 f 2 andf 3 for the case of the Boltzmann's equation are determined.Technická 2, Praha 6, Czechoslovakia.  相似文献

In the experiments at the SPHINX facility in the 70 GeV proton beam of the IHEP accelerator the diffractive production reactionsp+N[(1385)0 K +] +N andp+N[(1385)0 K +]+N+ (neutral particles) were studied. In the effective mass spectra of the [(1385)0 K +] system in these processes there were no signals from the anomalously narrow baryon stateN (1960) which had been observed earlier in the measurement at the BIS-2 setup.SPHINX Collaboration (IHEP-ITEP)  相似文献

Given a one-parameter familyf (x) of maps of the interval [0, 1], we consider the set of parameter values for whichf has an invariant measure absolutely continuous with respect to Lebesgue measure. We show that this set has positive measure, for two classes of maps: i)f (x)=f(x) where 0<4 andf(x) is a functionC 3-near the quadratic mapx(1–x), and ii)f (x)=f(x) (mod 1) wheref isC 3,f(0)=f(1)=0 andf has a unique nondegenerate critical point in [0, 1].  相似文献

Volume and grain boundary diffusion of 113Sn in aluminium was investigated with the radiotracer method. The implantation technique was used for tracer deposition to avoid problems of tracer hold-up caused by the oxide layer always present on aluminium. The diffusion penetration was chosen large enough to permit serial sectioning of samples with the aid of a microtome. The temperature dependence of the volume diffusivity was determined as D(T)=4.54×10–5×exp[–(114.5±1.2)kJmol–1/RT] m 2 s –1. This confirms previous measurements from our group which already showed that Sn is the fastest foreign metal diffusor so far investigated in aluminium.Grain boundary diffusion of 113Sn in Al polycrystals was measured in the type-B kinetic regime. The grain boundary diffusion product P=sD gb (s=segregation factor, =grain boundary width, D gb=grain boundary diffusivity) was found to be strongly affected by the impurity content of aluminium. For Al polycrystals of 99.9992% nominal purity we obtained P 5N(T)=1.08×10–8exp [–(96.9±7.5) kJ mol–1/RT] m3 s–1 and for less pure Al polycrystals of 99.99% nominal purity P 4N(T)=3.0×10–10 exp [–(90.1±4.2) kJ mol–1/RT] m3 s–1 was determined. The grain boundary diffusion product in the purer material is more than one order of magnitude higher than in the less pure material. Very likely this is an effect of co-segregation of non-diffusant impurities into the grain boundaries.  相似文献

We obtain positive-energy irreducible representations of theq-deformed anti de Sitter algebraU q (so(3, 2)) by deformation of the classical ones. When the deformation parameterq isN-th root of unity, all these irreducible representations become unitary and finite-dimensional. Generically, their dimensions are smaller than those of the corresponding finite-dimensional non-unitary representations ofso(3, 2). We discuss in detail the singleton representations, i.e. the Di and Rac. WhenN is odd, the Di has dimension 1/2(N 2–1) and the Rac has dimension 1/2(N 2+1), while ifN is even, both the Di and Rac have dimension 1/2N 2. These dimensions are classical only forN=3 when the Di and Rac are deformations of the two fundamental non-unitary representations ofso(3, 2).Presented at the 4th Colloquium Quantum groups and integrable systems, Prague, 22–24 June 1995.On leave from Bulgarian Acad.
