An optical probe responsive to gallium(III) ion has been developed. The gallium sensing system was prepared by incorporating 4-(p-nitrophenyl azo)-pyrocatechol (NAP) as ionophore in a plasticized PVC membrane containing tributylphosphate (TBP) as plasticizer. The sensing membrane in contact with gallium ion at pH 3.5, changes color from yellow-brown to pink-brown. Under optimum conditions, the proposed membrane displayed a linear range of 5-83 μM with a limit of detection of 4 μM. The response time of the membrane was within 10-15 min depending on the concentration of Ga3+ ions. The selectivity of the probe towards gallium determination was found to be very good. Experimental results showed that the probe could be used as an effective tool in analyzing the gallium content of water samples.  相似文献

A backscattering light (BSL) detection assembly is constructed and applied to the determination of nucleic acids with high sensitivity and selectivity based on the measurements of BSL signals at water/tetrachloromethane (H2O/CCl4) interface. In aqueous medium of pH 3, the binary complex of of Al(III)-DNAs could be formed by the interaction of Al(III) with the phosphate group of DNAs, which then could interact with tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) in tetrachloromethane through liquid/liquid interaction, forming a ternary complex of TPP-Al(III)-DNAs at the interface. It was observed that greatly enhanced BSL signals occurred with maximum peak at 469 nm when the ternary complex of TPP-Al(III)-DNAs were absorbed to the liquid/liquid interface. The enhanced backscattering light intensity (IBSL) is in proportion to the concentration of calf thymus DNA (ctDNA) and fish sperm DNA (fsDNA) in the range of 0.6-1200 ng ml−1 and 1.1-1200 ng ml−1, respectively. The limits of determination (3σ) are 60 pg ml−1 and 110 pg ml−1, correspondingly. Artificial samples with highly interference backgrounds were determined with the recovery ranging from 94.5 to 106.7%, and relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) less than 2.40%.  相似文献

Novel preconcetration method involving porous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) filter tube impregnated bis(2-ethylhexyl) hydrogen phosphate (HDEHP) as a sorbent was studied to establish it as a practical preconcentration method for ultra trace analysis with ICP-MS. A 1 ng portion of In(III) in 1000 ml of matrix free solution or 700 ml of synthetic seawater was quantitatively complexated with HDEHP adsorbed onto porous PTFE filter tube by passing the solution through the micro pore of the filter tube. Preconcentrated In(III) was then quantitatively recovered provided that the elution, which consists of a cyclical filtering 0.1 ml of 8 mol dm−3 hydrochloric acid through the filter tube for 1 min; therefore, up to 10000- and 7000-fold of enrichment was attained for matrix free solution and synthetic seawater, respectively. To introduce a 0.1 ml of the eluted solution to ICP-MS, flow injection method with air segmented discrete sample introduction (ASDI) was also studied by using manually operated simple valve system. By using ASDI, good linearity of calibration curve (r = 0.99997) was observed from 0.01 to 5.0 ng ml−1 of In(III). Good reproducibility was also shown in measurements of 0.1 ml of 5 ng ml−1 of In(III) (R.S.D. = 1.9%, n = 5). The average recovery and R.S.D. of the results for the five duplicates determination of 0.1 ng of In(III) spiked to 200 ml of synthetic seawater were 99 and 2.4%, respectively. The method was applied to the determination of In(III) in coastal seawater sampled at north east of Hachijyo Island, Japan; using 200 ml of sample, 2000-fold preconcentration of In(III) was performed within 30 min for five samples. The analytical detection limit and the blank were 9.8 and 21 pg l−1, respectively. The average concentration was determined to be 96 pg l−1, and R.S.D. of the results was 3.7% (n = 3).  相似文献

[M(SRaaiNR′)Cl3] (M = Rh(III), Ir(III) and SRaaiNR′ = 1-alkyl-2-{(o-thioalkyl)phenylazo}imidazole) complexes are described in this article. The single crystal X-ray structure of one of the complexes, [Rh(SMeaaiNEt)Cl3] (3b), shows a tridentate chelation of SMeaaiNEt via N(imidazole), N(azo) and S(thioether) donor centres. Spectral characterization has been done by IR, UV–Vis and 1H NMR data. The electronic structure, redox properties and spectra are well supported by DFT and TDDFT computation on the complexes.  相似文献

A new method that utilizes 1-(2-aminoethyl)-3-phenylurea-modified silica gel as a solid-phase extractant has been developed for preconcentration of trace Sc(III) prior to the measurement by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). Experimental conditions for effective adsorption of trace level of Sc(III) were optimized using batch and column procedures in detail. The optimum pH value for the separation of Sc(III) on the new sorbent was 4 and complete elution of Sc(III) from the sorbent surface was carried out using 1.0 mL of 0.1 mol L−1 HCl. Common coexisting ions did not interfere with the separation and determination of the analyte. The maximum static adsorption capacity of the sorbent at optimum conditions was found to be 32.5 mg g−1 while the time of 95% adsorption was less than 2 min. The detection limit of present method was found to be 0.091 μg g−1, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was lower than 3.0% (n = 8). The method was successfully applied for the preconcentration of trace Sc(III) in the environmental samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The method exploits the possibilities of flow injection gradient titration in a system of reversed flow with spectrophotometric detection. In the developed approach a small amount of titrant (EDTA) is injected into a stream of sample containing a mixture of indicators (sulfosalicylic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline). In acid environment sulfosalicylic acid forms a complex with Fe(III), whereas 1,10-phenanthroline forms a complex with Fe(II). Measurements are performed at wavelength λ = 530 nm when radiation is absorbed by both complexes. After injection EDTA replaces sulfosalicylic acid and forms with Fe(III) more stable colourless complex. As a result, a characteristic “cut off” peak is registered with a width corresponding to the Fe(III) concentration and with a height corresponding to the Fe(II) concentration. Calibration was performed by titration of four two-component standard solutions of the Fe(II)/Fe(III) concentrations established in accordance with 22 factorial plan. The method was tested with the use of synthetic samples and then it was applied to the analysis of water samples taken from artesian wells. Under optimized experimental conditions Fe(II) and Fe(III) were determined with precision less than 0.8 and 2.5% (RSD) and accuracy less than 3.2 and 5.1% (relative error) within the concentration ranges of 0.1-3.0 and 0.9-3.5 mg L−1 of both analytes, respectively.  相似文献

A novel and simple flow-based method was developed for the simultaneous determination of As(III) and As(V) in freshwater samples. Two miniature columns with a solid phase anion exchange resin, placed on two 6-way valves were utilized for the solid-phase collection/concentration of arsenic(III) and arsenic(V), respectively. As(III) could be retained on the column after its oxidation to As(V) species with an oxidizing agent. The collected analytes were then sequentially eluted by 2 M nitric acid and introduced into ICP-AES. Potassium permanganate was examined as potential oxidizing agent for conversion of As(III) to As(V). The standard deviation of the analytical signals (peak height) for the replicate analysis (n = 5) of 0.5 μg l−1 solution were 3 and 5% for As(III) and As(V), respectively. The limit of detection (3σ) for both As(III) and As(V) were 0.1 μg l−1. The proposed system produced satisfactory results on the application to the direct analysis of inorganic arsenic species in freshwater samples.  相似文献

The sorptive potential of sunflower stem (180-300 μm) for Cr(III) ions has been investigated in detail. The maximum sorption (≥85%) of Cr(III) ions (70.2 μM) has been accomplished using 30 mg of high density sunflower stem in 10 min from 0.001 M nitric and 0.0001 M hydrochloric acid solutions. The accumulation of Cr(III) ions on the sorbent follows Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R), Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms. The isotherm yields D-R saturation capacity Xm = 1.60 ± 0.23 mmol g−1, β = −0.00654 ± 0.00017 kJ2 mol−2, mean free energy E = 8.74 ± 0.12 kJ mol−1, Freundlich sorption capacity KF = 0.24 ± 0.11 mol g−1, 1/n = 0.90 ± 0.04 and of Langmuir constant KL = 6800 ± 600 dm3 mol−1 and Cm = 120 ± 18 μmol g−1. The variation of sorption with temperature (283-323 K) gives ΔH = −23.3 ± 0.8 kJ mol−1, ΔS = −64.0 ± 2.7 J mol−1 K−1 and ΔG298k = −4.04 ± 0.09 kJ mol−1. The negative enthalpy and free energy envisage exothermic and spontaneous nature of sorption, respectively. Bisulphate, Fe(III), molybdate, citrate, Fe(II), Y(III) suppress the sorption significantly. The selectivity studies indicate that Cr(III), Eu(III) and Tb(III) ions can be separated from Tc(VII) and I(I). Sunflower stem can be used for the preconcentration and removal of Cr(III) ions from aqueous medium. This cheaper and novel sorbent has potential applications in analytical and environmental chemistry, in water decontamination, industrial waste treatment and in pollution abatement. A possible mechanism of biosorption of Cr(III) ions onto the sunflower stem has been proposed.  相似文献

Novel aluminum(III)- and zirconium(IV)-tetraphenylporhyrin (TPP) derivatives are examined as fluoride-selective ionophores for preparing polymer membrane-based ion-selective electrodes (ISEs). The influence of t-butyl- or dichloro-phenyl ring substituents as well as the nature of the metal ion center (Al(III) versus Zr(IV)) on the anion complexation constants of TPP derivative ionophores are reported. The anion binding stability constants of the ionophores are characterized by the so-called “sandwich membrane” method. All of the metalloporphyrins examined form their strongest anion complexes with fluoride. The influence of plasticizer as well as the type of lipophilic ionic site additive and their amounts in the sensing membrane are discussed. It is shown that membrane electrodes formulated with the metalloporphyrin derivatives and appropriate anionic or cationic additives exhibit enhanced potentiometric response toward fluoride over all other anions tested. Since selectivity toward fluoride is enhanced in the presence of both anionic and cationic additives, the metalloporphyrins can function as either charged or neutral carriers within the organic membrane phase. In contrast to previously reported fluoride-selective polymeric membrane electrodes based on metalloporphyrins, nernstian or near-nernstian (−51.2 to −60.1 mV decade−1) as well as rapid (t < 80 s) and fully reversible potentiometric fluoride responses are observed. Moreover, use of aluminum(III)-t-butyltetraphenylporphyrin as the ionophore provides fluoride sensors with prolonged (7 months) functional lifetime.  相似文献

A new terbium selective sensor based on N-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-(2-hydroxyphenylhydroxyphenylimino)-N-phenylbutanamidine (L1) and N,N′-bis((1H-indole-3-yl)methylene)butane-1,4 diamine (L2) as a ionophore is reported. Effect of various plasticizers; 2-nitrophenyloctylether (o-NPOE), dibutyl butylphosphonate (DBBP), chloronaphthelene (CN), dioctylphthalate (DOP) and tri-(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate (TEHP) with anion excluder, potassium tetrakis (p-chloropheny1)borate (KTpClPB) have been studied. The membrane with a composition of ionophore (L1):KTpClPB:PVC:o-NPOE (w/w, %) in ratio of 3.0:5.0:30.0:62.0 exhibited enhanced selectivity towards terbium ions (III) in the concentration range of 3.5 × 10−7 to 1.0 × 10−2 M with a detection limit of 1.2 × 10−7 M and a Nernstian slope (20.0 ± 0.5 mV dec−1 activity). The sensors showed the working pH range to be 3.5-7.5 with response time of 11 s. The sensor has been found to work satisfactorily in partially non-aqueous media up to 15% (v/v) content of methanol, ethanol or acetonitrile and could be used for a period of 3 months. The selectivity coefficients indicated high selectivity for terbium (III). The fast and stable response, good reproducibility and long-term stability of the sensors were observed. The application of the sensor has been demonstrated in determination of terbium (III) ions in spiked water samples.  相似文献

The kinetics of Ru(III) catalysed oxidation of l-leucine by diperiodatoargentate(III) (DPA) in alkaline medium at 298 K and a constant ionic strength of 0.60 mol dm−3 was studied spectrophotometrically. The oxidation products are pentanoic acid and Ag(I). The stoichiometry is [l-leucine]:[DPA] = 1:2. The reaction is of first order in Ru(III) and [DPA] and has less than unit order in both [l-leu] and [alkali]. The oxidation reaction in alkaline medium has been shown to proceed via a Ru(III)–l-leucine complex, which further reacts with one molecule of monoperiodatoargentate(III) (MPA) in a rate determining step followed by other fast steps to give the products. The main products were identified by spot test and spectral studies. The reaction constants involved in the different steps of the mechanism are calculated. The catalytic constant (Kc) was also calculated for the Ru(III) catalysed reaction at different temperatures. From the plots of log Kc versus 1/T, values of activation parameters with respect to the catalyst have been evaluated. The activation parameters with respect to the slow step of the mechanism are computed and discussed, and thermodynamic quantities are also determined. The active species of catalyst and oxidant have been identified.  相似文献

Silica gel-bound amines phase modified with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde (p-DMABD) was prepared based on chemical immobilization technique. The product (SG-p-DMABD) was used as an adsorbent for the solid-phase extraction (SPE) Cr(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) prior to their determination by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The uptake behaviors of SG-p-DMABD for extracting these metal ions were studied using batch and column procedures. For the batch method, the optimum pH range for Cr(III) and Ni(II) extraction was ≥ 3, for Cu(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) extraction it was ≥ 4. For simultaneous enrichment and determination of all the metals on the newly designed adsorbent, the pH value if 4.0 was selected. All the metal ions can be desorbed with 2.0 mL of 0.5 mol L− 1 of HCl. The results indicate that SG-p-DMABD has rapid adsorption kinetics using the batch method. The adsorption capacity for these metal ions is in the range of 0.40-1.15 mmol g− 1, with a high enrichment factor of 125. The presence of commonly coexisting ions does not affect the sorption capacities. The detection limits of the method were found to be 1.10, 0.69, 0.99, 1.10 and 6.50 μg L− 1 for Cr(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II), respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) of the method under optimum conditions was 5.0% (n = 8) for all metal ions. The method was applied to the preconcentration of Cr(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) from the certified reference material (GBW 08301, river sediment) and water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The ligating properties 1-(2′-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (HPAN) toward Rh(III) have been examined. The reaction of RhCl3·3H2O with HPAN in presence of excess PPh3 afforded trans-[Rh(PAN)Cl(PPh3)2]PF6 (3PF6). Intermediate cis-[Rh(PAN)Cl2(PPh3)] (4) has also been isolated. Solid state structures were authenticated by X-ray analyses revealing that monoanionic PAN is coordinated to rhodium in meridional fashion. Both the compounds were spectroscopically characterized in both solution and solid states, which include IR, NMR (1H and 31P), and optical spectra. The diamagnetic complexes show multiple CT transitions in the visible region. Low-energy transitions (λ ≈ 550–650 nm) occurred in the absorption spectra are predominantly ligand centered in nature. The rhodium(III)–PAN compounds are red emissive (λem ≈ 650 nm) at room temperature and the nature of the emission level is probably an ILCT level. Complexes are electro-active in acetonitrile and display irreversible oxidative and reductive waves and these responses are ascribed to be PAN ligand centered in character.  相似文献

Comparative studies of neodymium (III)-selective PVC membrane sensors   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Sensors based on two neutral ionophores, N,N′-bis((1H-pyrrol-2-yl)methylene)cyclohexane-1,2-diamine (L1) and 3,3′-(cyclohexane-1,2-diylbis(azan-1-yl-1-ylidene)bis(methan-1-yl-1-ylidene)bis(5-hydroxymethyl)pyridine-2-ol) (L2) are described for quantification of neodymium (III). Effect of various plasticizers; 2-nitrophenyloctylether (o-NPOE), dibutyl butylphosphonate (DBBP), tri-n-butyl phosphates (TBP), dioctylpthalate (DOP) and chloronapthalen (CN) and anion excluder, sodiumtetraphenylborate (NaTPB) has been studied. The membrane composition of PVC:o-NPOE:ionophore (L1):NaTPB (w/w; mg) of 150:300:5:5 exhibited best performance. The sensor with ionophore (L1) exhibits significantly enhanced selectivity towards neodymium (III) in the concentration range 5.0 × 10−7 to 1.0 × 10−2 M with a detection limit of 1.0 × 10−7 M and a Nernstian compliance (19.8 ± 0.3 mV decade−1 of activity) within pH range 4.0-8.0. The response time of sensor was found as 10 s. The influence of the membrane composition and possible interfering ions has also been investigated on the response properties of the electrode. The fast and stable response, good reproducibility and long-term stability of the sensor are observed. The sensor has been found to work satisfactorily in partially non-aqueous media up to 20% (v/v) content of methanol, ethanol or acetonitrile and could be used for a period of 3 months. The selectivity coefficients determined by using fixed interference method (FIM) indicate high selectivity for neodymium. The proposed electrode shows fairly good discrimination of neodymium (III) from other cations. The application of prepared sensor has been demonstrated in the determination of neodymium (III) in spiked water samples.  相似文献

A new functional monomer N-(o-carboxyphenyl)maleamic acid (CPMA) was synthesized and chosen for the preparation of surface-grafted ion-imprinted polymers (IIPs) specific for thorium(IV). Polymerizable double bond was introduced to silica gel surface by amidation reaction between -NH2 and maleic anhydride. In the ion-imprinting process, thorium(IV) was complexed with the carboxyl groups, then was imprinted in the polymers grafted to the silica gel surface. The imprinted Th(IV) was removed with 3 mol L−1 HCl. The obtained imprinted particles exhibited excellent selectivity and rapid kinetics process for Th(IV). The relatively selective factor (αr) values of Th(IV)/La(III), Th(IV)/Ce(III), Th(IV)/Nd(III), Th(IV)/U(VI), and Th(IV)/Zr(IV) were 85.7, 88.9, 26.6, 64.4, and 433.8, respectively, which were greater than 1. The precision (R.S.D.), the detection limit (3σ), and the quantification limit (10σ) of the method were 1.9%, 0.51 ng mL−1 and 1.19 ng mL−1, respectively. The prepared IIPs as solid-phase extractants were successfully applied for the preconcentration of trace thorium in natural and certified samples prior to its determination by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Thallium(III), in the presence of other triply charged ions such as gallium, indium, bismuth and antimony in aqueous solution, was quantitatively and selectively extracted into 2-propanol/water phase by addition of NaCl ranging from 2.5 to 4.0 mol dm−3. The extraction efficiencies of gallium, indium, bismuth and antimony were much lower than that of thallium(III). Thus a maximal selective separation of thallium(III) from these elements could be attained using a 2-propanol/water mixture. Thallium(III) was extracted as TlCl4 with Na+. The detailed extraction mechanism in the presence of chloride, water in the organic phase and counter ions is discussed.  相似文献

A selective novel reverse flow injection system with chemiluminescence detection (rFI-CL) for the determination of Cr(VI) in presence of Cr(III) with Dichlorotris (1,10-phenanthroline)ruthenium(II), (Ru(phen)3Cl2), is described in this work. This new method is based on the oxidation capacity of Cr(VI) in H2SO4 media. First, the Ruthenium(II) complex is oxidized to Ruthenium(III) complex by Cr(VI) and afterwards it is reduced to the excited state of the Ruthenium(II) complex by a sodium oxalate solution, emitting light inside the detector. The intensity of chemiluminescence (CL) is proportional to the concentration of Cr(VI) and, under optimum conditions, it can be determined over the range of 3-300 μg L−1 with a detection limit of 0.9 μg L−1. The RSD was 8.4% and 1.5% at 5 and 50 μg L−1, respectively. For the rFI-CL method various analytical parameters were optimized: flow rate (1 mL min−1), H2SO4 carrier concentration (20% w/V), Ru(phen)3Cl2 concentration (5 mM) and sodium oxalate concentration (0.1 M). The effect of Cr(III), Fe(III), Al(III), Cd(II), Zn(II), Hg(II), Pb(II), Ca(II) and Mg(II), was studied. The method is highly sensitive and selective, allowing a fast, on-line determination of Cr(VI) in the presence of Cr(III). Finally, the method was tested in four different water samples (tap, reservoir, well and mineral), with good recovery percentage.  相似文献

Raman spectroscopy using a hot stage indicates that the intercalation of hexacyanoferrate(II) and (III) in the interlayer space of a Mg, Al hydrotalcites leads to layered solids where the intercalated species is both hexacyanoferrate(II) and (III). Raman spectroscopy shows that depending on the oxidation state of the initial hexacyanoferrate partial oxidation and reduction takes place upon intercalation. For the hexacyanoferrate(III) some partial reduction occurs during synthesis. The symmetry of the hexacyanoferrate decreases from Oh existing for the free anions to D3d in the hexacyanoferrate interlayered hydrotalcite complexes. Hot stage Raman spectroscopy reveals the oxidation of the hexacyanoferrate(II) to hexacyanoferrate(III) in the hydrotalcite interlayer with the removal of the cyanide anions above 250 °C. Thermal treatment causes the loss of CN ions through the observation of a band at 2080 cm−1. The hexacyanoferrate (III) interlayered Mg, Al hydrotalcites decomposes above 150 °C.  相似文献

A series of iron(III) complexes ligated by 2-(benzimidazole)-6-(1-aryliminoethyl)pyridines was synthesized and examined by 1H NMR, ESI-MS, IR spectroscopic, elemental analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Activated with methylaluminoxane (MAO), all ferric complexes exhibited good activities (up to 5.38 × 106 g mol−1(Fe) h−1) of ethylene oligomerization and polymerization, and resultant oligomers and polyethylene waxes showed high α-olefin feature, meanwhile the distribution of oligomers mostly resembled Schulz-Flory rules. The various reaction parameters were investigated in detail, and the less bulky and electron-withdrawing substituents of ligands could enhance the catalytic activities of their ferric complexes. The observations explain the cause for unstable activities performed by stored iron(II) complexes.  相似文献
