Enthalpies for the two proton ionizations of the biochemical buffers N-[2-hydroxyethyl]piperazine-N′-[2-ethane sulfonic acid] (HEPES) and N-[2-hydroxyethyl]piperazine-N′-[2-hydroxypropane sulfonic acid] (HEPPSO) were obtained in water-methanol mixtures with methanol mole fraction (Xm) from 0 to 0.360. With increasing methanol, the ionization enthalpy for the first proton (ΔH1) of HEPES increased steadily from 8.4 to 15.3 kJ mol−1 whereas that for HEPPSO rose to a maximum of 21.0 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.123 before dropping to 18.4 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.360. The ionization enthalpy for the second proton (ΔH2) of HEPES varied from 20.8 kJ mol−1 in water to 13.6 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.360 with a maximum of 24.8 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.194. For HEPPSO, ΔH2 increased steadily from 23.4 to 29.2 kJ mol−1. The solvent composition was selected so as to include the region of maximum structure enhancement of water by methanol. The results were interpreted in terms of solvent-solvent and solvent-solute interactions.  相似文献

Enthalpies for the two proton ionizations of glycine, N,N-bis(2-hyroxyethyl)glycine (“bicine”) and N-tris(hydroxymethyl)methylglycine (“tricine”) were obtained in water-methanol mixtures with methanol mole fraction (Xm) from 0 to 0.360. With increasing methanol the ionization enthalpy for the first proton (ΔH1) of glycine increased from 4.4 to 9.4 kJ mol−1 with a minimum of 4.1 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.059. The ionization enthalpy of the second proton (ΔH2) for glycine decreased from 46.3 to 38.1 kJ mol−1. ΔH1 of bicine increased from 3.5 to 7.6 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.273 before dropping to 4.1 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.360. ΔH2 of bicine increased from 24.9 to 29.4 kJ mol−1. For tricine, ΔH1 increased from 6.7 to 9.8 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.194 then dropped to 7.4 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.360. ΔH2 for tricine first dropped from 30.8 to 28.5 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.059 before increasing to 33.3 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.273. The solvent composition was selected so as to include the region of maximum structure enhancement of water by methanol. The results were interpreted in terms of solvent-solvent and solvent-solute interactions.  相似文献

Enthalpies for the two proton ionizations of the biochemical buffers N-tris(hydroxymethyl)methyl-4-aminobutanesulfonic acid (TABS), N-tris(hydroxymethyl)methyl-3-aminopropanesulfonic acid (TAPS) and 3-[N-tris(hydroxymethyl)methylamino]-2-hyroxypropane sulfonic acid (TAPSO) were obtained in water–methanol mixtures with methanol mole fraction (Xm) from 0 to 0.360. The ionization enthalpy for the first proton (ΔH1) of all three buffers was small and exhibited slight changes upon methanol addition. The ionization enthalpy of the second proton (ΔH2) of TABS increased from 39.6 to 49.8 kJ mol−1 and for TAPS from 40.1 to 43.2 kJ mol−1, with a minimum of 38.2 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.059. For TAPSO the increase was from 33.1 to 35.6 kJ mol−1 at Xm = 0.194, with measurements at higher Xm precluded by low solubility of TAPSO in methanol rich solvents. The solvent composition was selected so as to include the region of maximum structure enhancement of water by methanol. The results were interpreted in terms of solvent–solvent and solvent–solute interactions.  相似文献

Low-temperature heat capacities of the compound Na(C4H7O5)·H2O(s) have been measured with an automated adiabatic calorimeter. A solid-solid phase transition and dehydration occur at 290-318 K and 367-373 K, respectively. The enthalpy and entropy of the solid-solid transition are ΔtransHm = (5.75 ± 0.01) kJ mol−1 and ΔtransSm = (18.47 ± 0.02) J K−1 mol−1. The enthalpy and entropy of the dehydration are ΔdHm = (15.35 ± 0.03) kJ mol−1 and ΔdSm = (41.35 ± 0.08) J K−1 mol−1. Experimental values of heat capacities for the solids (I and II) and the solid-liquid mixture (III) have been fitted to polynomial equations.  相似文献

Reaction of trans-[PtClMe(SMe2)2] with the mono anionic ligands azide, bromide, cyanide, iodide and thiocyanate result in substitution of the chloro ligand as the first step. In contrast the neutral ligands pyridine, 4-Me-pyridine and thiourea substitute a SMe2 ligand in the first step as confirmed by 1H NMR spectroscopy and the kinetic data. Detailed kinetic studies were performed in methanol as solvent by use of conventional stopped-flow spectrophotometry. All processes follow the usual two-term rate law for square-planar substitutions, kobs = k1 + k2[Y] (where k1 = kMeOH[MeOH]), with k1 = 0.088 ± 0.004 s−1 and k2 = 1.18 ± 0.13, 3.8 ± 0.3, 17.8 ± 1.3, 34.9 ± 1.4, 75.3 ± 1.1 mol−1 dm3 s−1 for Y = N3, Br, CN, I and SCN respectively at 298 K. The reactions with the neutral ligands proceed without an appreciable intercept with k2 = 5.1 ± 0.3, 15.3 ± 1.8 and 195 ± 3 mol−1 dm3 s−1 for Y = pyridine, 4-Me-pyridine and thiourea, respectively, at 298 K. Activation parameters for MeOH, , Br, CN, I, SCN, and Tu are ΔH = 47.1 ± 1.6, 49.8 ± 0.6, 39 ± 3, 32 ± 8, 39 ± 5, 34 ± 4 and 31 ± 3 kJ mol−1 and ΔS = −107 ± 5, −77 ± 2, −104 ± 9,−113 ± 28, −85 ± 18, −94 ± 14 and −97 ± 10 J K−1 mol−1, respectively. Recalculation of k1 to second-order units gives the following sequence of nucleophilicity: (1:13:42:57:170:200:390:840:2170) at 298 K. Variation of the leaving group in the reaction between trans-[PtXMe(SMe2)2] and SCN follows the same rate law as stated above with k2 = 75.3 ± 1.1, 236 ± 4 and 442 ± 5 mol−1 dm3 s−1 for X = Cl, I and N3, respectively, at 298 K. The corresponding activation parameters were determined as ΔH = 34 ± 4, 32 ± 2 and 39.3 ± 1.7 kJ mol−1 and ΔS = −94 ± 14, −86 ± 8 and −68 ± 6 J K−1 mol−1. All the kinetic measurements indicate the usual associate mode of activation for square planar substitution reactions as supported by large negative entropies of activation, a significant dependence of the reaction rate on different entering nucleophiles and a linear free energy relationship.  相似文献

Na2[(VIVO)2(ttha)]·8 H2O (ttha = triethylenetetraamine–N,N,N′,N″,N′″,N′″–hexaacetate ion), prepared by treating [VO(H2O)5][(VO)2(ttha)]·4 H2O with Na6(ttha), has been characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy, electron spin resonance spectroscopy, and modeled by density functional theory (DFT). The X-ray structure revealed a distorted octahedral geometry around each vanadium center. The electronic absorption spectrum of [(VO)2(ttha)]2− (aq) features absorptions at ca. 200 nm (ε > 13900 L mol−1 cm−1), 255 nm (ε = 3480 L mol−1 cm−1), 586 nm (ε = 33 L mol−1 cm−1), and 770 nm (ε = 38 L mol−1 cm−1). The time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculated electronic absorption spectrum was remarkably similar to the actual spectrum, and TDDFT predicts absorption peaks at 297, 330, 458, 656, and 798 nm. TDDFT assigned the peak at 798 nm to be the α spin HOMO → LUMO transition. Hence, the peak at 770 nm in the actual spectrum is most likely the α spin HOMO → LUMO transition. Moreover, the TDDFT calculations revealed that the α spin HOMO and LUMO are partly comprised of d orbitals on both vanadium centers, and the first derivative electron spin resonance spectrum also suggests that the two unpaired electrons in [(VO)2(ttha)]2− are localized near the vanadium centers.  相似文献

A novel complex [Ba(5-OH-BDC)(H2O)3] [5-OH-H2BDC = 5-hydroxyisophtalic acid] was synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography. The complex is Monoclinic P21/c, a = 11.1069(4), b = 14.8192(6), c = 6.5005(2) Å, β = 103.465(3)° and Z = 4, which exhibits a three-dimensional framework formed by linkage of adjacent two-dimensional (6, 3) layers via intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The title complex has been studied by IR spectrum and TG-DTG. The constant-volume combustion energy of the complex, ΔcU, was determined as being (−3210.45 ± 1.41) kJ mol−1 by a precise rotating-bomb calorimeter at 298.15 K. The standard enthalpy of combustion, , and the standard enthalpy of formation, , were calculated as being (−3207.97 ± 1.41) and (−1922.80 ± 1.76) kJ mol−1, respectively. A calculation model for determining the specific heat capacity of the complex with an improved RD496-III microcalorimeter is also derived. The specific heat capacity of the complex was (6158.387 ± 0.187) J mol−1 K−1.  相似文献

Endo-Tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decane (CAS 6004-38-2) is an important intermediate compound for synthesizing diamantane. The lack of data on the thermodynamic properties of the compound limits its development and application. In this study, endo-Tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decane was synthesized and the low temperature heat capacities were measured with a high-precision adiabatic calorimeter in the temperature range from (80 to 360) K. Two phase transitions were observed: the solid-solid phase transition in the temperature range from (198.79 to 210.27) K, with peak temperature 204.33 K; the solid-liquid phase transition in the temperature range from 333.76 K to 350.97 K, with peak temperature 345.28 K. The molar enthalpy increments, ΔHm, and entropy increments, ΔSm, of these phase transitions are ΔHm=2.57 kJ · mol−1 and ΔSm=12.57 J · K−1 · mol−1 for the solid-solid phase transition at 204.33 K, and, ΔfusHm=3.07 kJ · mol−1 and ΔfusSm=8.89 J · K−1 · mol−1 for the solid-liquid phase transition at 345.28 K. The thermal stability of the compound was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. TG result shows that endo-Tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decane starts to sublime at 300 K and completely changes into vapor when the temperature reaches 423 K, reaching the maximal rate of weight loss at 408 K.  相似文献

A series of N-alkyl-N-methylpyrrolidinium (RMPyr+, where R = E: ethyl, B: butyl, and H: hexyl) and N-butylpyridinium (BPy+) salts based on the fluorocomplex anions, BF4, PF6, SbF6, NbF6, TaF6, and WF7, have been synthesized and their thermal behavior has been investigated. The melting points of the RMPyr+ salts are above room temperature with the trend; BMPyrAF6 < HMPyrAF6 < EMPyrAF6 for the hexafluorocomplex salts. Some of the salts containing BMPyr+ and HMPyr+ exhibit phase transitions in the solid states. Similar melting points of BPy+ salts of PF6, SbF6, NbF6, TaF6, and WF7 are observed at around 350 K. Ionic conductivity and viscosity for BMPyrNbF6 (3.0 mS cm−1 and 164 cP at 328 K) are similar to those for BMPyrTaF6 (3.0 mS cm−1 and 165 cP at 328 K), resulting from the similarity of the anions in size. The activation energies of ionic conductivity for the NbF6 and TaF6 salts are 18 and 20 kJ mol−1, and those for viscosity are 23 and 25 kJ mol−1, respectively calculated by Arrhenius equation in the temperature range between 328 and 348 K. Electrochemical windows of BMPyrNbF6, BMPyrTaF6, and BMPyrWF7 are about 4.0, 5.0 and 3.1 V, respectively.  相似文献

Experimentally determined barriers to O-acyl group topomerization in mixed anhydrides composed of β-disubstituted carboxylic acids and cyclic thiohydroxamic acid N-hydroxy-4-methylthiazole-2(3H)-thione were located in the range of ΔG320=68±8 kJ mol−1 (DNMR). According to modeling studies, the underlying exchange process is proposed to occur via rotation about the N,O bond for torsional movement of the O-acyl group past the heterocyclic 4-methyl substituent. The energetically lowest pathway for passing the O-acyl entity by the thione sulfur, is predicted to occur via sequential rocking about the Csp2,O single bond in combination with an interlaced twist about the N,O axis.  相似文献

The vaporization of DyI3(s) was investigated in the temperature range between 833 and 1053 K by the use of Knudsen effusion mass spectrometry. The ions DyI2+, DyI3+, Dy2I4+, Dy2I5+, Dy3I7+, and Dy3I8+ were detected in the mass spectrum of the equilibrium vapor. The gaseous species DyI3, (DyI3)2, and (DyI3)3 were identified and their partial pressures determined. Enthalpies and entropies of sublimation resulted according to the second- and third-law methods. The following sublimation enthalpies at 298 K were determined for the gaseous species given in brackets: 274.8±8.2 kJ mol−1 [DyI3], 356.0±11.3 kJ mol−1 [(DyI3)2], and 436.6±14.6 kJ mol−1 [(DyI3)3]. The enthalpy changes of the dissociation reactions (DyI3)2=2 DyI3 and (DyI3)3=3 DyI3 were obtained as ΔdH°(298)=193.3±5.6 and 390.3±13.0 kJ mol−1, respectively.  相似文献

The kinetics and mechanism of the hydroboration reactions of 1-octene with HBBr2 · SMe2 and HBCl2 · SMe2, in CH2Cl2 as a solvent, were studied. Rates of hydroboration were monitored using 11B NMR spectroscopy. The reactions exhibited simple second-order kinetics of the form . The HBCl2 · SMe2 was found to be 20 times more reactive than the HBBr2 · SMe2. The overall activation parameters (ΔH, ΔS) for the reaction of HBBr2 · SMe2 with 1-octene were found to be 82 ± 1 kJ mol−1, −18 ± 4 J K−1 mol−1 and with 1-hexyne were 78 ± 4 kJ mol−1 −34 ± 12 J K−1 mol−1. For the reaction of HBCl2 · SMe2 with 1-octene, ΔH and ΔS were 104 ± 5 kJ mol−1 and 43 ± 16 J K−1 mol−1, respectively. The activation parameters (ΔH, ΔS) for the dissociation of Me2S from HBBr2 · SMe2 were found to be 104 ± 2 kJ mol−1, +33 ± 8 J K−1 mol−1, respectively. Based on the activation parameters, it was concluded that the detaching of Me2S from the boron centre follows a dissociative mechanism, while the hydroboration process follows an associative pathway. It was also concluded that the dissociation of Me2S from the boron centre is the rate determining step.  相似文献

Palladium(II) complexes with a tetradentate pseudo-tripodal ligand having two phosphino groups and two phosphine sulfide or selenide groups, pp3X2 (pp3 = tris[2-(diphenylphosphino)ethyl]phosphine, X = S (1) or Se (2)), were prepared from [PdCl(pp3)]Cl. Both of these phosphine chalcogenide complexes 1 and 2 showed rapid equilibrium between the five-coordinate [PdCl(pp3X2)]Cl with two bound phosphine chalcogenide groups and four-coordinate [PdCl2(pp3X2)] with two dissociated pendant ones in chloroform. The thermodynamic parameters for the reaction, [PdCl(pp3X2)]+ + Cl?[PdCl2(pp3X2)], were obtained by low-temperature 31P NMR as follows: K298 = 3.7 × 103 and 5.4 × 102 mol−1, ΔH° = 11.3 ± 0.3 and 13.4 ± 0.4 kJ mol−1, and ΔS° = 106 ± 2 and 97 ± 2 J mol−1 K−1 for 1 and 2, respectively. The rate for the geometrical change at 246.7 K for 1 was appreciably faster than that for 2. These thermodynamic and kinetic results indicate that the phosphine selenide Se atoms can stabilize the five-coordinate structure by effective π-back donation from Pd(II) compared with the phosphine sulfide S atoms. Difference in retention of the catalytic activity for Suzuki coupling, 2 > 1 > [PdCl(pp3 or p3)]Cl, was explained by difference in the π-accepting ability that stabilizes the catalytically active Pd(0) species. Considering the rapid dissociation-coordination equilibrium of the phosphine chalcogenide groups on Pd(II), it is probable that the oxidative addition and the subsequent transmetallation of the Pd(II) species are hardly blocked by the phosphine chalcogenide groups.  相似文献

The complex bis-(N,N-dimethyl-1,2-ethanediamine) nickel(II) perchlorate undergoes a first-order thermochromic phase transition at ca. 476 K, changing its color from orange to red. The room temperature X-ray crystal structure determination showed that the nickel ion possesses a square-planar geometry with two five membered chelate rings, in the δλ conformation, forming the NiN4 chromophore. The broad-line 1H NMR indicates the onset of a dynamic disorder of diamine chelate rings at the phase transition temperature region, while T1 measurement of 1H affords the activation energy of the puckering metal chelate rings to be 26 kJ mol−1. The electronic spectrum revealed that a weakening of ligand field around the nickel is associated with the phase transition.  相似文献

The solid copper l-threonate hydrate, Cu(C4H6O5)·0.5H2O, was synthesized by the reaction of l-threonic acid with copper dihydrocarbonate and characterized by means of chemical and elemental analyses, IR and TG-DTG. Low-temperature heat-capacity of the title compound has been precisely measured with a small sample precise automated adiabatic calorimeter over the temperature range from 77 to 390 K. An obvious process of the dehydration occurred in the temperature range between 353 and 370 K. The peak temperature of the dehydration of the compound has been observed to be 369.304 ± 0.208 K by means of the heat-capacity measurements. The molar enthalpy, ΔdHm, of the dehydration of the resulting compound was of 16.490 ± 0.063 kJ mol−1. The experimental molar heat capacities of the solid from 77 to 353 K and the solid from 370 to 390 K have been, respectively, fitted to tow polynomial equations with the reduced temperatures by least square method. The constant-volume energy of combustion of the compound, ΔcUm, has been determined as being −1616.15 ± 0.72 kJ mol−1 by an RBC-II precision rotating-bomb combustion calorimeter at 298.15 K. The standard molar enthalpy of formation of the compound, , has been calculated to be −1114.76 ± 0.81 kJ mol−1 from the combination of the data of standard molar enthalpy of combustion of the compound with other auxiliary thermodynamic quantities.  相似文献

Two pure strontium borates SrB2O4·4H2O and SrB2O4 have been synthesized and characterized by means of chemical analysis and XRD, FT-IR, DTA-TG techniques. The molar enthalpies of solution of SrB2O4·4H2O and SrB2O4 in 1 mol dm−3 HCl(aq) were measured to be −(9.92 ± 0.20) kJ mol−1 and −(81.27 ± 0.30) kJ mol−1, respectively. The molar enthalpy of solution of Sr(OH)2·8H2O in (HCl + H3BO3)(aq) were determined to be −(51.69 ± 0.15) kJ mol−1. With the use of the enthalpy of solution of H3BO3 in 1 mol dm−3 HCl(aq), and the standard molar enthalpies of formation for Sr(OH)2·8H2O(s), H3BO3(s), and H2O(l), the standard molar enthalpies of formation of −(3253.1 ± 1.7) kJ mol−1 for SrB2O4·4H2O, and of −(2038.4 ± 1.7) kJ mol−1 for SrB2O4 were obtained.  相似文献

Synthetic Na-magadiite sample was used for organofunctionalization process with N-propyldiethylenetrimethoxysilane and bis[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]tetrasulfide, after expanding the interlayer distance with polar organic solvents such as dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). The resulted materials were submitted to process of adsorption with arsenic solution at pH 2.0 and 298±1 K. The adsorption isotherms were adjusted using a modified Langmuir equation with regression nonlinear; the net thermal effects obtained from calorimetric titration measurements were adjusted to a modified Langmuir equation. The adsorption process was exothermic (ΔintH=−4.15-5.98 kJ mol−1) accompanied by increase in entropy (ΔintS=41.32-62.20 J k−1 mol−1) and Gibbs energy (ΔintG=−22.44−24.56 kJ mol−1). The favorable values corroborate with the arsenic (III)/basic reactive centers interaction at the solid-liquid interface in the spontaneous process.  相似文献

Two compounds, BaNd2Fe2O7(s) and BaNdFeO4(s) in the quaternary system BaNdFeO were prepared by citrate-nitrate gel combustion route and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. Heat capacities of these two oxides were measured in two different temperature ranges: (i) 130-325 K and (ii) 310-845 K, using a heat flux type differential scanning calorimeter. Two different types of solid-state electrochemical cells with CaF2(s) as the solid electrolyte were employed to measure the e.m.f. as a function of temperature. The standard molar Gibbs energies of formation of these quaternary oxides were calculated as a function of temperature from the e.m.f. data. The standard molar enthalpies of formation from elements at 298.15 K, ΔfHm° (298.15 K) and the standard entropies, Sm° (298.15 K) of these oxides were calculated by the second law method. The values of ΔfHm° (298.15 K) and Sm° (298.15 K) obtained for BaNd2Fe2O7(s) are: −2756.9 kJ mol−1 and 234.0 J K−1 mol−1 whereas those for BaNdFeO4(s) are: −2061.5 kJ mol−1 and 91.6 J K−1 mol−1, respectively.  相似文献

[Ni(ND3)6](ClO4)2 has three solid phases between 100 and 300 K. The phase transitions temperatures at heating (TC1h=164.1 K and TC2h=145.1 K) are shifted, as compared to the non-deuterated compound, towards the lower temperature of ca. 8 and 5 K, respectively. The ClO4 anions perform fast, picosecond, isotropic reorientation with the activation energy of 6.6 kJ mol−1, which abruptly slow down at TC1c phase transition, during sample cooling. The ND3 ligands perform fast uniaxial reorientation around the Ni-N bond in all three detected phases, with the effective activation energy of 2.9 kJ mol−1. The reorientational motion of ND3 is only slightly distorted at the TC1 phase transition due to the dynamical orientational order-disorder process of anions. The low value of the activation energy for the ND3 reorientation suggests that this reorientation undergoes the translation-rotation coupling, which makes the barrier to the rotation of the ammonia ligands not constant but fluctuating. The phase polymorphism and the dynamics of the molecular reorientations of the title compound are similar but not quite identical with these of the [Ni(NH3)6](ClO4)2.  相似文献
