The analytical expression for the beam propagation factor (M2-factor) of Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) array beams propagating through atmospheric turbulence is derived. It is shown that the M2-factor of GSM array beams depends on the beam number, the relative beam separation distance, the beam coherence parameter, the type of beam superposition, and the strength of turbulence. The turbulence results in an increase of the M2-factor. However, for the superposition of the intensity the M2-factor is less sensitive to turbulence than that for the superposition of the cross-spectral density function. The M2-factor of GSM array beams is larger than that of the corresponding Gaussian array beams. However, the M2-factor of GSM array beams is less affected by turbulence than that of the corresponding Gaussian array beams. For the superposition of the cross-spectral density function a minimum of the M2-factor of GSM array beams may appear in turbulence, which is even smaller than that of the corresponding single GSM beams.  相似文献

根据广义惠更斯-菲涅尔衍射积分方法,推导出按矩形方式排布的部分相干高斯-谢尔模型阵列光束的光谱传输公式,定量分析了部分相干高斯-谢尔模型阵列光束在自由空间传输时轴上和离轴相对谱移的变化,并详细讨论了阵列参数和子光束的空间相干参数对相对谱移的影响。结果表明,部分相干高斯-谢尔模型阵列光束通过自由空间传输后,其相对谱移与光源处的谱密度、子光束的空间相干参数以及子光束数目和子光束间距等阵列参数有关,其中,阵列参数对相对谱移的影响非常显著。  相似文献

On the basis of the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle and the model of the refractive-index structure constant in the atmospheric turbulence proposed by the International Telecommunication Union-Radio Communication Sector,the characteristics of the partially coherent Gaussian Schell-model(GSM) beams propagating in slanted atmospheric turbulence are studied.Using the cross-spectral density function(CSDF),we derive the expressions for the effective beam radius,the spreading angle,and the average intensity.The variance of the angle-of-arrival fluctuation and the wander effect of the GSM beam in the turbulence are calculated numerically.The influences of the coherence degree,the propagation distance,the propagation height,and the waist radius on the propagation characteristics of the partially coherent beams are discussed and compared with those of the fully coherent Gaussian beams.  相似文献

The concept of a partially coherent nonparaxial beam is proposed. A closed-form expression for the propagation of nonparaxial Gaussian Schell model (GSM) beams in free space is derived and applied to study the propagation properties of nonparaxial GSM beams. It is shown that for partially coherent nonparaxial beams a new parameter f(sigma) has to be introduced, which together with the parameter f, determines the beam nonparaxiality.  相似文献

It is found that in free space, the curves of the mean-squared beam width may each have a cross point at a certain propagation distance Zc. For Gaussian array beams, the analytical expressions of zc are derived. For the coherent com- bination, Zc is larger than that for the incoherent combination. However, in non-Kolmogorov turbulence, the cross point disappears, and the Gaussian array beams will have the same directionality in terms of the angular spread. Furthermore, a short propagation distance is needed to reach the same directionality when the generalized exponent is equal to 3.108. In particular, it is shown that the condition obtained in previous studies is not necessary for laser beams to have the same directionality in turbulence, which is explained physically. On the other hand, the relative average intensity distributions at the position where the Gaussian array beams have the same mean-squared beam width are also examined.  相似文献

激光在湍流大气中的传输有重要的理论研究和实际应用意义.以高斯-谢尔模型(GSM)光束作为部分空间相干光的典型例,基于非Kolmogorov谱和广义惠更斯-菲涅耳原理, 推导出GSM光束在非Kolmogorov湍流中的有效曲率半径的解析表达式. 重点研究了湍流参数(包括广义指数α,内尺度l0,和外尺度L0) 和传输距离z分别对GSM光束有效曲率半径的影响.结果表明, 有效曲率半径Rx(z)随α和z增加先减小然后再增大, 随L0的减小而增大(3.6<α< 4),随l0的增加而增大.并对结果做了物理解释.  相似文献

基于广义惠更斯-菲涅耳原理,采用Rytov相位结构函数二次近似和硬边窗口函数的复高斯展开法,推导了受光阑限制的多色高斯-谢尔模型(GSM)光束在大气湍流中的二阶矩束宽公式。研究表明:二阶矩束宽随着大气湍流折射率结构常数、源光谱带宽和光束传输距离的增加而增大,随着光束截断参数和光束相干参数的增加而减小;并且,当源光谱带宽越大、光束截断参数和光束相干参数越小,则湍流对受光阑限制的多色GSM光束扩展的影响就越小。关键词:   相似文献

Taking Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) background vortex beams as an example of partially coherent vortex beams, the composite coherence vortices resulting from the superposition of the cross-spectral density function of two parallel, noncollinear partially coherent vortex beams and their propagation in free space are studied, and the main attention is paid to the effect of relative off-axis distance, coherence parameter and propagation distance on the composite coherence vortices. The number and location of composite coherence vortices vary by changing the relative off-axis distance, coherence parameter or propagation distance. In the coherent limit, the composite coherence vortex becomes the composite optical vortex.  相似文献

Analytical expressions for the effective radius of curvature, R, of Hermite–Gaussian (H–G) array beams propagating in free space for both coherent and incoherent combinations are derived. It is shown that for the two types of beam combination a minimum of the effective radius of curvature, Rmin, appears as the propagation distance z increases. For the coherent combination, R is larger than that for the incoherent combination. The position zmin where the effective radius of curvature reaches its minimum is further away from the source plane for the coherent combination than that for the incoherent combination. For the two types of beam combination, R and zmin increase with increasing beam number, increasing beam separation distance, increasing waist width, and decreasing beam order and wavelength. In particular, the R of single H–G beams is always smaller than that of H–G array beams; the R of Gaussian array beams is always larger than that of H–G array beams.  相似文献

The closed-form expressions for the Rayleigh range zR and the M2-factor of truncated laser beams with amplitude modulations (AMs) and phase fluctuations (PFs) in turbulence are derived, and the beam quality is studied by taking the zR and the M2-factor as the characteristic parameters of beam quality. The M2-factor of truncated laser beams with AMs and PFs is always larger than that of truncated Gaussian beams both in free space and in turbulence. However, in turbulence the beam quality of truncated laser beams with AMs and PFs may be better than that of truncated Gaussian beams if the zR is taken as the characteristic parameter of beam quality. For laser beams with AMs and PFs in turbulence, the beam quality expressed in terms of zR is consistent with that in terms of the M2-factor versus the phase fluctuation parameter α, but not versus the intensity modulation parameter σA. The beam quality of truncated laser beams with AMs and PFs is less sensitive to turbulence than that of truncated Gaussian beams. The beam quality of laser beams with smaller α and larger σA is less affected by turbulence than those with larger α and smaller σA.  相似文献

 通过加入高斯项的空间相干度,引入部分相干双曲余弦-高斯(ChG)光束,推导出部分相干ChG光束通过近轴ABCD光学系统传输的解析表达式,并用以研究其传输特性和空间整形。结果表明,部分相干ChG光束的光强分布不能保持传输不变性,其光强分布不仅与传输距离和离心参数有关,而且还与空间相干参数有关。在传输距离固定时,适当改变部分相干ChG 光束的离心参数和空间相干参数,可实现光束的空间整形。光束质量因子随空间相干性的增大和离心参数的减小而减小。高斯-谢尔模型光束和完全相干ChG光束可作为部分相干ChG光束的特例处理。  相似文献

The analytical expressions for the effective Rayleigh range zR of Gaussian array beams in turbulence for both coherent and incoherent combinations are derived. It is shown that zR of Gaussian array beams propagating through atmospheric turbulence depends on the strength of turbulence, the array beam parameters and the type of beam combination. For the coherent combination zR decreases due to turbulence. However, for the incoherent combination there exists a maximum of zR as the strength of turbulence varies. The zR of coherently combined Gaussian array beams is larger than that of incoherently combined Gaussian array beams, but for the coherent combination case zR is more sensitive to turbulence than that for the incoherent combination case. The larger the beam number is, the longer zR is, and the more zR is affected by turbulence. For the coherent combination zR is not monotonic versus the relative beam separation distance, and the effect of turbulence on zR is appreciable within a certain range of the relative beam separation distance.  相似文献

The spatial correlation properties and the spectral intensity distributions of focused Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) array beams are studied in detail. The closed-form expressions for the spectral degree of coherence and the spectral intensity of focused GSM array beams are derived. It is shown that the spectral degree of coherence of focused GSM array beams is the same as that of focused GSM beams in the focal plane. On the other hand, it is found that, in the focal plane the spectral intensity distribution of focused GSM array beams is the fringe pattern when the value of the coherence length is small. However, it becomes one peak located at the center as the value of the coherence length is large enough. In the focal plane, the spectral intensity maximum increases and the width of the normalized spectral intensity distribution decreases as the beam number increases. In general, for GSM array beams, the width of the modulus of the spectral degree of coherence in the focal plane always exceeds that of the normalized spectral intensity distribution, which is different from the behavior of focused GSM beams. In addition, the power in the bucket (PIB) and the beam propagation factor (M2 factor) are also discussed. The main results are explained physically.  相似文献

基于广义的Huygens-Fresnel原理和非Kolmogorov谱模型,推导了无线光通信系统中径向分布部分相干高斯-谢尔模型阵列光束在非Kolmogorov大气湍流中传输时瑞利区间z_R和湍流距离z_T的解析表达式,对瑞利区间和湍流距离随湍流参量和光束参量的变化情况进行了数值分析.结果表明:不论是相干还是非相干合成,径向分布部分相干高斯-谢尔模型阵列光束的z_R和z_T均随湍流广义指数α的增大非单调变化,当α=3.11时,z_R和z_T取最小值,此时阵列光束扩展最大;相干合成比非相干合成的光束扩展要小,但其受湍流的影响更大;对于相干合成而言,径向分布半径r0越大,合成光束的z_R和z_T就越大,而非相干合成的z_R和z_T不受r0的影响;不论是相干还是非相干合成,阵列子光束数目对合成光束的z_R和z_T没有影响;当光束相干参量β足够小或波长λ足够大时,大气湍流对阵列光束z_R的影响可以忽略.  相似文献

Taking the Rayleigh range zR and the M2-factor as the characteristic parameters of beam quality, the beam quality of radial Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) array beams is studied. The analytical expressions for the zR and the M2-factor of radial GSM array beams are derived. It is shown that for the superposition of the cross-spectral density function zR is longer and the M2-factor is lower than that for the superposition of the intensity. For the two types of superposition, zR increases and the M2-factor decreases with increase in beam coherence parameter, and both zR and the M2-factor increase with increase in inverse radial fill-factor. For the superposition of the cross-spectral density function, zR increases and the M2-factor decreases with increase in beam number, while for the superposition of the intensity both the zR and M2-factor are independent of the beam number.  相似文献

The propagation of phase-locked circular dark hollow beams array in a turbulent atmosphere is studied. An analytical expression for the average intensity distribution at the receiving plane is obtained based on the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle. The effects of turbulence, dark parameter and beam order of the beams array on the intensity pattern are studied and analyzed. It is found that the intensity pattern of the phase-locked circular dark hollow beams array will evolve from a multiple-spot-pattern into a Gaussian beam spot under the isotropic influence of the turbulence. The intensity pattern of beam array with a larger dark parameter and beam order evolves into the Gaussian-shape faster with increasing propagation distance.  相似文献

The spreading of partially coherent polychromatic Hermite-Gaussian (PCPHG) beams propagating through non-Kolmogorov turbulence is studied, where the effect of non-Kolmogorov turbulence and beam bandwidth on the beam width spreading and angular spread is stressed. It is shown that the variation of the relative beam width of PCPHG beams with the generalized exponent parameter of non-Kolmogorov turbulence is non-monotonic. The larger bandwidth of PCPHG beams is, the smaller the relative beam width and the smaller the relative angular spread. Therefore, PCPHG beams with larger bandwidth are less affected by non-Kolmogorov turbulence than those with smaller bandwidth. PCPHG beams are less sensitive to the effect of non-Kolmogorov turbulence than fully coherent polychromatic Hermite-Gaussian (FCPHG) beams and polychromatic Gaussian Schell-model (PGSM) beams. The results are illustrated by numerical examples and interpreted.  相似文献
