Non-linear parametric vibration and stability analysis for two dynamic models of axially moving Timoshenko beams 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Non-linear parametric vibration and stability of an axially moving Timoshenko beam are considered for two dynamic models; the first one, with considering only the transverse displacement and the second one, with considering both longitudinal and transverse displacements. The set of non-linear partial-differential equations of both models are derived using an energy approach. The method of multiple scales is applied directly to both models, and using the equation order one, the mode shape equations and natural frequencies are obtained. Then, for the equation order epsilon, the solvability conditions are considered for the resonance case and the stability boundaries are formulated analytically via Routh–Hurwitz criterion. Eventually, some numerical examples are provided to show the differences in the behavior of the above-mentioned non-linear models. 相似文献

In this paper, the vibration and stability of an axially moving beam is investigated. The finite element method with variable-domain elements is used to derive the equations of motion of an axially moving beam based on Rayleigh beam theory. Two kinds of axial motions including constant-speed extension deployment and back-and-forth periodical motion are considered. The vibration and stability of beams with these motions are investigated. For vibration analysis, direct time numerical integration, based on a Runge–Kutta algorithm, is used. For stability analysis of a beam with constant-speed axial extension deployment, eigenvalues of equations of motion are obtained to determine its stability, while Floquet theory is employed to investigate the stability of the beam with back-and-forth periodical axial motion. The effects of oscillation amplitude and frequency of periodical axial movement on the stability of the beam are discussed from the stability chart. Time histories are established to confirm the results from Floquet theory. 相似文献

A general form of an analytical solution algorithm for the nonlinear vibrations and stability of parametrically excited continuous systems with intermediate concentrated elements is developed in this paper. The method of multiple timescales is applied directly to the equations of the motion which are in the form of a set of nonlinear partial differential equations with nonlinear coupled terms. This yields approximate analytical expressions for the response amplitude and stability of the system. Moreover, the solution to a sample problem is obtained using the general algorithm, thus proving its effectiveness and validity. 相似文献

Singularly Perturbed Solution of Three Species Volterra Model with Constant Harvest and Invest Rates
<正> In this paper, we consider the three species Volterra model of the first-order nonlinear differential equations. Using the method of multiple scales, the.asymptotic expansions of solution for the original problem are obtained, and the uniformly valid asymptotic estimations of the solution are discussed. 相似文献

Tie-bars are frequently used in structural and mechanical engineering applications. To satisfy requirements like weight reduction, stability improvement, etc., the tie-bars are stiffened with rings. In this paper a method is developed to calculate the natural frequencies, buckling axial force, etc., of the ring-stiffened tie-bars. The dynamics of the ringed and the unringed portions of the beam are treated separately. The mode shape of the first portion was expressed as the superposition of two functions multiplied by constants. Consideration of continuity of deflection and of slope and compatibility of bending moment and shearing force at the first step enabled the mode shape of the second portion to be expressed as the superposition of two functions but multiplied by the same constants as in the first portion. This procedure was recursively carried out up to the last portion. The frequency equation was then derived from the boundary conditions at the end. Buckling of the tie-bar was considered as the case when one of the natural frequencies is zero. The first three frequency parameters and the first two buckling dimensionless axial forces are tabulated for tie-bars stiffened with various number of rings and for various combinations of boundary conditions. The calculation procedure can handle any number and any type of ring-stiffeners. 相似文献

In this paper, the method of multiple scales is used to study free vibrations and primary resonances of geometrically nonlinear spatial continuous systems with general quadratic and cubic nonlinear operators in a complex form. It is found that in the free vibrations of general continuous systems in a complex form, both forward and backward modes are excited. This situation is in contrast to the primary resonances in which only forward modes are excited. Consequently, one may determine the form of solution before applying the multiple scales method to the equation. This analysis is applicable to general continuous systems with gyroscopic and Coriolis effects and includes many nonlinear problems as a special case. As an example of application of this general solution, free vibrations and primary resonances of a simply supported rotating shaft with stretching nonlinearity are considered. 相似文献

In this work, the sensitivity to material characteristics of eigenvalues is studied. From an initial structure, some defects of material or/and geometry are introduced. A method is proposed to solve the new eigenvalue problem from the initial one without using classical techniques. This method is based on the association of a homotopy transformation and the perturbation method. 相似文献

The stability of traveling wave solutions of scalar viscous conservation laws is investigated by decomposing perturbations into three components: two far-field components and one near-field component. The linear operators associated to the far-field components are the constant coefficient operators determined by the asymptotic spatial limits of the original operator. Scaling variables can be applied to study the evolution of these components, allowing for the construction of invariant manifolds and the determination of their temporal decay rate. The large time evolution of the near-field component is shown to be governed by that of the far-field components, thus giving it the same temporal decay rate. We also give a discussion of the relationship between this geometric approach and previous results, which demonstrate that the decay rate of perturbations can be increased by requiring that initial data lie in appropriate algebraically weighted spaces. 相似文献

Continuing a line of investigation initiated in [F. Gesztesy, Y. Latushkin, K.A. Makarov, Evans functions, Jost functions, and Fredholm determinants, Arch. Rat. Mech. Anal. 186 (2007) 361–421] exploring the connections between Jost and Evans functions and (modified) Fredholm determinants of Birman–Schwinger type integral operators, we here examine the stability index, or sign of the first nonvanishing derivative at frequency zero of the characteristic determinant, an object that has found considerable use in the study by Evans function techniques of stability of standing and traveling wave solutions of partial differential equations (PDE) in one dimension. This leads us to the derivation of general perturbation expansions for analytically-varying modified Fredholm determinants of abstract operators. Our main conclusion, similarly in the analysis of the determinant itself, is that the derivative of the characteristic Fredholm determinant may be efficiently computed from first principles for integral operators with semi-separable integral kernels, which include in particular the general one-dimensional case, and for sums thereof, which appears to offer applications in the multi-dimensional case.A second main result is to show that the multi-dimensional characteristic Fredholm determinant is the renormalized limit of a sequence of Evans functions defined in [G.J. Lord, D. Peterhof, B. Sandstede, A. Scheel, Numerical computation of solitary waves in infinite cylindrical domains, SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 37 (2000) 1420–1454] on successive Galerkin subspaces, giving a natural extension of the one-dimensional results of [F. Gesztesy, Y. Latushkin, K.A. Makarov, Evans functions, Jost functions, and Fredholm determinants, Arch. Rat. Mech. Anal. 186 (2007) 361–421] and answering a question of [J. Niesen, Evans function calculations for a two-dimensional system, presented talk, SIAM Conference on Applications of Dynamical Systems, Snowbird, UT, USA, May 2007] whether this sequence might possibly converge (in general, no, but with renormalization, yes). Convergence is useful in practice for numerical error control and acceleration. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with the stability of traveling wavefronts for a population dynamics model with time delay. Combining the weighted energy method and the comparison principle, the global exponential stability of noncritical traveling wavefronts(waves with speeds c c_*, where c = c~* is the minimal speed) is established, when the initial perturbations around the wavefront decays to zero exponentially in space as x →-∞, but it can be allowed arbitrary large in other locations, which improves the results in [9, 18, 21]. 相似文献

The free bending vibration of rotating axially functionally graded (FG) Timoshenko tapered beams (TTB) with different boundary conditions are studied using Differential Transformation method (DTM) and differential quadrature element method of lowest order (DQEL). These two methods are capable of modelling any beam whose cross sectional area, moment of inertia and material properties vary along the beam. In order to verify the competency of these two methods, natural frequencies are obtained for problems by considering the effect of material non-homogeneity, taper ratio, shear deformation parameter, rotating speed parameter, hub radius and tip mass. The results are tabulated and compared with the previous published results wherever available. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence and stability of traveling waves with transition layers for a quasi-linear competition system with cross diffusion, which was first proposed by Shegesada,Kawasaki and Teramoto. When one of the random diffusion rates is small and the cross-diffusion rate is not small,by the geometric singular perturbation method, the existence of traveling waves with transition layers is obtained.Further,by the detailed spectral analysis and topological index method, the traveling waves... 相似文献

This paper presents the decomposition theorem of rectangular beams and indicates that the general state of stress of beams can be decomposed into two parts: the interior state and the Papkovich–Fadle state (shortened form the P–F state). The refined theory of beams is derived by using Papkovich–Neuber solution (shortened form the P–N solution) and Lur’e method without ad hoc assumptions. It is shown that the displacements and stresses of the beam can be represented by the angle of rotation and the deflection of the neutral surface. Based on the refined beam theory, the exact equations for the beam without transverse surface loadings are derived and consist of two governing differential equations: the fourth-order equation and the transcendental equation. It is then proved that the refined beam theory and the decomposition beam theorem are equivalent, i.e., the fourth-order equation and the transcendental equation are equivalent to the interior state and the P–F state, respectively. 相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to study the traveling wave solutions of a nonlocal reaction‐diffusion system with delay arising from the spread of an epidemic by oral‐faecal transmission. Under monostable and quasimonotone it is well known that the system has a minimal wave speed c* of traveling wave fronts. In this paper, we first prove the monotonicity and uniqueness of traveling waves with speed c ?c ?. Then we show that the traveling wave fronts with speed c >c ? are exponentially asymptotically stable. 相似文献

The finite element dynamic response of an unsymmetric composite laminated orthotropic beam, subjected to moving loads, has been studied. One-dimensional finite element based on classical lamination theory, first-order shear deformation theory, and higher-order shear deformation theory having 16, 20 and 24 degrees of freedom, respectively, are developed to study the effects of extension, bending, and transverse shear deformation. The theories also account for the Poisson effect, thus, the lateral strains and curvatures can be expressed in terms of the axial and transverse strains and curvatures and the characteristic couplings (bend–stretch, shear–stretch and bend–twist couplings) are not lost. The dynamic response of symmetric cross-ply and unsymmetric angle-ply laminated beams under the action of a moving load have been compared to the results of an isotropic simple beam. The formulation also has been applied to the static and free vibration analysis. 相似文献

The method of multiple scales is a global perturbation technique that has resulted to be very useful in perturbed ordinary differential equations characterized by disparate time scales. The general principle behind the method is that the solution to the differential equation is uniformly expanded in terms of two or more independent variables, referred to as time scales. In this article, we present a mathematical object based on a Poisson series to apply the method of multiple scales via specific symbolic computation. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献
