Optically efficient cerium and terbium doped lanthanide fluoride (La1−xyCexTby)F3 nanocrystals with different doping concentrations have been synthesized by a hydrothermal route in the presence of ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid disodium salt (EDTA). The results showed that the formation of nanocrystals with different morphologies depends on terbium ion Tb3+ doping concentration, but independent of cerium ion Ce3+ doping concentration. With increase in Tb3+ doping concentration, the morphologies of nanocrystals evolved from a spherical shape to a plated-like one. In addition, both the photoluminescence quantum yield (PL QY) and the fluorescence lifetime of nanocrystals increased with the increase in Ce3+ doping concentration in cerium and terbium co-doped system. The PL QY reached up to 55%, and the lifetime up to 7.3 ms. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) absorption, photoluminescence (PL) and infrared (IR) spectroscopies were employed to characterize the properties of nanocrystals. The growth mechanism of nanocrystals with different morphologies and optical properties of nanocrystals with different doping concentrations were investigated.  相似文献

In this article, Sr2CeO4:x mol% Eu3+ and Sr2CeO4:5 mol%Eu3+, 3 mol% Dy3+ phosphors were synthesized from assembling hybrid precursors by wet chemical method. As-prepared samples present uniform grain-like morphology and the particle size is about 0.2 μm. The luminescence spectra of Sr2CeO4:x mol% Eu3+ have been measured to examine the influence of the intensity of red emission lines for Eu3+ on the concentration of Eu3+, showing that the intensity of the red emission increases with an increase of the concentration from 1 to 5 mol%. Additionally, from the emission spectra of Sr2CeO4:5 mol%Eu3+, 3 mol% Dy3+ phosphors, the characteristic lines of Dy3+ have also been observed. This result indicates that there also exists an energy transfer process between Sr2CeO4 and Dy3+.  相似文献

Oleic acid (OA)-modified CaF2:Tb3+ nanoparticles with various Tb3+ concentrations and CaF2:Ce3+, Tb3+ nanoparticles were synthesized. The as-prepared nanoparticles were shown to be well dissolved in some common organic solvents, such as chloroform and toluene. The nanoparticles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The investigation of fluorescence properties of CaF2:Tb3+ nanoparticles showed that the Tb3+ ions could be sensitized efficiently by the surface coating of OA and CaF2:Tb3+ nanoparticles with 10 mol% Tb3+ concentrations possess the highest emission intensity. The comparison of emission for CaF2:Ce3+, Tb3+ and CaF2:Tb3+ (10 mol%) nanoparticles revealed that the emission intensity of the former is about 4.5 times as strong as that of the latter.  相似文献

Uniform and crack free polycrystalline lutetium oxide (Lu2O3:(Eu,Pr)) films were fabricated by Pechini sol-gel method combined with the spin-coating technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscope (AFM) characterizations indicated that the obtained film was composed of polycrystalline cubic Lu2O3 phase with an average grain size around 30 nm. The photoluminescence(PL) spectra and decay performances of the Lu2O3:5 mol% Eu films co-doped by 0-0.5 mol% Pr3+ with different concentrations were characterized. It was found that the afterglow was reduced obviously due to the introduction of 0-0.5 mol% Pr3+ in the Lu2O3:5 mol% Eu films coupled by decrease in the emission intensity at 612 nm. The mechanism of afterglow diminishing was discussed based on the thermoluminescence measurements.  相似文献

Blue and green double emitting phosphor, Ce3+ and Tb3+ co-doped NaSr4(BO3)3, was synthesized in a weak reducing atmosphere by a conventional high temperature solid-state reaction technique. For comparison, Ce3+ or Tb3+ singly doped NaSr4(BO3)3 was also prepared. The emission and excitation spectra of all samples have been investigated. NaSr4(BO3)3:Tb3+ excitation includes a strong absorption at about 240 nm and some weak sharp lines in near-ultraviolet (n-UV) spectral region. The excitation of Ce3+ and Tb3+ co-doped NaSr4(BO3)3 shows a strong broad band absorption in the n-UV region from the contribution of Ce3+, which makes it suitable for excitation by a n-UV LED chip. The emission of NaSr4(BO3)3:Ce3+,Tb3+ consists of a blue emission band from Ce3+ and a green emission from Tb3+ under the excitation of n-UV light. Energy transfer between Ce3+ and Tb3+ is also discussed, and the relative intensity of blue emission and green emission could be tuned by adjusting the concentration of Ce3+ and Tb3+. The phosphor NaSr4(BO3)3:Ce3+,Tb3+ could be considered as a double emission phosphor for n-UV excited white light-emitting diodes.  相似文献

The Yb3+/Tm3+ co-doped GdF3 and NaGdF4 samples were synthesized through a combination method of a co-precipitation and an argon atmosphere annealing procedures. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the Yb3+/Tm3+ co-doped GdF3 sample crystallized well and was orthorhombic phase, and the Yb3+/Tm3+ co-doped NaGdF4 sample was hexagonal phase. With a 980-nm semiconductor continuous wave laser diode as the excitation source, the up-conversion emission spectra of the two samples in the wavelength range of 240-510 nm were recorded. In the up-conversion emissions of the samples, Yb3+ transferred energies to Tm3+ resulting in their ultraviolet, violet, and blue up-conversion emissions. And, Tm3+ simultaneously transferred energies to Gd3+, which finally resulted in ultraviolet up-conversion emissions of Gd3+. The study on the excitation power dependence of up-conversion fluorescence intensity indicated that there were multi-photon (three-, four-, five-, and six-) processes in the up-conversion emissions of the samples. And the up-conversion emissions of Gd3+ and Tm3+ in the Yb3+/Tm3+ co-doped GdF3 and NaGdF4 samples were compared studied, too.  相似文献

Oxonitridosilicate phosphors with compositions of (Y1−xCex)2Si3O3N4 (x=0−0.2) have been synthesized by solid state reaction method. The structures and photoluminescence properties have been investigated. Ce3+ ions have substituted for Y3+ ions in the lattice. The emission and excitation spectra of these phosphors show the characteristic photoluminescence spectra of Ce3+ ions. Based on the analyses of the diffuse reflection spectra and the PL spectra, a systematic energy diagram of Ce3+ ion in the forbidden band of sample with x=0.02 is given. The best doping Ce content in these phosphors is ∼2 mol%. The quenching temperature is ∼405 K for the 2 mol% Ce content sample. The luminescence decay properties were investigated. The primary studies indicate that these phosphors are potential candidates for application in three-phosphor-converted white LEDs.  相似文献

Upconversion (UC) luminescence in monodisperse NaYF4:Yb3+/Tb3+ nanocrystals was observed under diode laser excitation of 970 nm, which were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. UC emissions at 380, 413, 436 nm and at 488, 542, 584, 620 nm arise from transitions 5D3(5G6) → 7FJ(J = 6, 5, 4) and 5D4 → 7FJ(J = 6, 5, 4, 3) of Tb3+ ions, respectively. UC mechanisms are proposed based on spectral, kinetic, decay time measurements, and pump power dependence analyses. Blue, green and red emissions originate from the same long-lived (milliseconds) upper 5D4 state, which promises the potential applications of these monodisperse Yb3+/Tb3+-codoped NaYF4 nanocrystals in the field of photonics, lasers and biomedicine.  相似文献

(Ca1 − x, Srx)Al2Si2O8:0.06Ce3+, M+ (M+ = Li+, Na+, K+) phosphors have been prepared by conventional solid-state reaction method. The structural and optical properties of the phosphors were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique and spectrophotometer, respectively. A regular variation was found among the XRD patterns of (Ca1 − x, Srx)Al2Si2O8:0.06Ce3+ phosphors based on the changing of Sr content. With the increase of Sr content, the maximum of emission band presented slight blue shifts (~ 15 nm). The luminescence intensity of CaAl2Si2O8:0.06Ce3+ and SrAl2Si2O8:0.06Ce3+ were significantly enhanced when K+ and Li+ were incorporated, respectively.  相似文献

Y2O3:Eu3+, Tb3+ phosphors with white emission are prepared with different doping concentration of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions and synthesizing temperatures from 750 to 950 °C by the co-precipitation method. The resulted phosphors were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The results of XRD indicate that the crystallinity of the synthesized samples increases with enhancing the firing temperature. The photoluminescence spectra indicate the Eu3+ and Tb3+ co-doped Y2O3 phosphors show five main emission peaks: three at 590, 611 and 629 nm originate from Eu3+ and two at 481 and 541 nm originate from Tb3+, under excitation of 250-320 nm irradition. The white light luminescence color could be changed by varying the excitation wavelength. Different concentrations of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions were induced into the Y2O3 lattice and the energy transfer from Tb3+→Eu3+ ions in these phosphors was found. The Commission International de l’Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity shows that the Y2O3:Eu3+, Tb3+ phosphors can obtain an intense white emission.  相似文献

The preparation and upconversion luminescence properties of the Yb3+ and Tb3+ co-doped glass ceramics containing SrF2 nanocrystals were investigated. The formation of SrF2 nanocrystals was confirmed by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. Both microstructural and spectral analysis indicated that the Yb3+ and Tb3+ ions were enriched in the precipitated SrF2 nanocrystals, which provide much lower phonon vibration energy than the glass matrix. Due to the efficient cooperative sensitization from Yb3+ to Tb3+ and the relatively low maximum phonon energy of SrF2 nanocrystals, the Yb3+ and Tb3+ co-doped glass ceramics exhibited intense upconversion luminescence, including ultraviolet emission at 382 nm.  相似文献

Low temperature quenching and high efficiency CaSc2O4:Ce3+ (CSO:Ce3+) phosphors co-doped with Tm3+, La3+ and Tb3+ ions were prepared by a solid state method and the phase-forming, morphology, luminescence and application properties of these phosphors were investigated. The results showed that co-doping of Tm3+, La3+ and Tb3+ ions can improve the luminescence properties and decrease temperature quenching of CSO:Ce3+ phosphor remarkably. High efficiency green-light-emitting diodes were fabricated with the prepared phosphors and InGaN blue-emitting (∼460 nm) chips. The good performances of the green-light-emitting LEDs made from co-doped CSO:Ce3+ phosphors confirm the luminescence enhancement and indicate that Tm3+, La3+ and Tb3+ co-doped CSO:Ce3+ phosphors are suitable candidates for the fabrication of high efficiency white LEDs.  相似文献

Crystal fibers of Ce3+ and Tb3+ singly doped and co-doped CaAl4O7 were grown by the LHPG method. Photoluminescence, excitation spectra and photoconduction were measured. Thermo-stimulated photo-ionization (delocalization) of electrons from the lowest field component of the 5d excited state of Ce3+ was observed in the Ce3+ singly doped sample under excitation at 355 nm. The 5d sublevel was found to locate at 0.3 eV below the conduction band of the host. However, the thermo-stimulated photo-ionization was greatly quenched due to the fast energy transfer from the 5d sublevel to Tb3+ ions in the Ce3+/Tb3+ double doped sample.  相似文献

In this study, a solution combustion method was used to prepare green emitting Ce3+–Tb3+ co-activated ZnAl2O4 phosphor. The samples were annealed at 700 °C in air or hydrogen atmosphere to improve their crystallinity and optical properties. X-ray diffraction study confirmed that both as-prepared and post-preparation annealed samples crystallized in the well known cubic spinel structure of ZnAl2O4. An agglomeration of irregular platelet-like particles whose surfaces were encrusted with smaller spheroidal particles was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The fluorescence data collected from the annealed samples with different concentrations of Ce3+ and Tb3+ show the enhanced green emission at 543 nm associated with 5D47F5 transitions of Tb3+. The enhancement was attributed to energy transfer from Ce3+ to Tb3+. Possible mechanism of energy transfer via a down conversion process is discussed. Furthermore, cathodoluminescence (CL) intensity degradation of this phosphor was also investigated and the degradation data suggest that the material was chemically stable and the CL intensity was also stable after 10 h of irradiation by a beam of high energy electrons.  相似文献

Eu3+-doped NaGdF4, KGdF4 and NH4GdF4 phosphors with little oxygen contamination have been synthesized by hydrothermal technique. The emission spectra show that the doped Eu3+ ions are located in noncentrosymmetric sites in the three compounds. The two-photon emission has been observed in NaGdF4:Eu3+ and KGdF4:Eu3+ compounds under VUV excitation from the ground states to higher 6GJ excited states of Gd3+ ions, while in Eu3+-doped NH4GdF4, emissions from 5D1,2,3 excited states of Eu3+ cannot be detected in the luminescence spectra.  相似文献

LiCaBO3 was synthesized by high-temperature solid-state reaction. The influence of different rare earth dopants, i.e. Dy3+, Tb3+, Tm3+ and Ce3+, on thermoluminescence (TL) of LiCaBO3 phosphor was discussed. We studied the TL properties and some dosimetric characteristics of Ce3+-activated LiCaBO3 phosphor in detail. The effect of the concentration of Ce3+ on TL was investigated, the result of which showed that the optimum Ce3+ concentration was 1 mol%. The TL kinetic parameters of LiCaBO3:0.01Ce3+ were studied by computer glow curve deconvolution (CGCD) method. The three-dimensional (3D) TL emission spectra were also studied, peaking at 431 and 474 nm due to the characteristic transition of Ce3+. We also studied the linearity, annealing condition, reproducibility, fading and different heating rate of the LiCaBO3:0.01Ce3+ phosphor.  相似文献

Yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) particles doped with Tb3+ or double doped with Tb3+ and Ce3+ were prepared by spray pyrolysis and characterized by photo- and cathode-luminescence. It was tried to incorporate a broad band of Ce3+ activator into the line peaks of Tb3+ in YAG host without the reduction of emission intensity. Ce-codoped YAG:Tb particles showed a broad band emission due to the d-f transition of Ce3+ and a reduction in the intensity of emission peaks due to 5D3-7Fj (j=3, 4, 5, 6) transition of Tb3+ when they were excited by the ultraviolet light of 270 nm. These results supported that an effective energy transfer occurs from Tb3+ to Ce3+ in YAG host. Codoping Ce3+ ions greatly intensified the excitation peak at 270 nm for the emission at 540 nm of Tb3+, which means that more lattice defects, involving in the energy absorption and transfer to Tb3+, are formed by the Ce3+ codoping. The finding gives a promising approach for enhancing the luminescence efficiency.  相似文献

The spectroscopic properties in UV-excitable range for the phosphors of Sr3La2(BO3)4:RE3+ (RE3+=Eu3+, Ce3+, Tb3+) were investigated. The phosphors were synthesized by conventional solid-state reactions. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra and commission international de I'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of Sr3La2(BO3)4:RE3+ were investigated. The f-d transitions of Eu3+, Ce3+ and Tb3+ in the host lattices are assumed and corroborated. The PL and PL excitation (PLE) spectra indicate that the main emission wavelength of Sr3La2(BO3)4:Eu3+ is 611 nm, and Sr3La2(BO3)4:Ce3+ shows dominating emission peak at 425 nm, while Sr3La2(BO3)4:Tb3+ displays green emission at 487, 542, 582 and 620 nm. These phosphors were prepared by simple solid-state reaction at 1000 °C. There are lower reactive temperature and more convenient than commercial phosphors. The Sr3La2(BO3)4:Tb3+ applied to cold cathode fluorescent lamp was found to emit green light and have a major peak wavelength at around 542 nm. These phosphors may provide a new kind of luminescent materials under ultraviolet excitation.  相似文献

NaLaP2O7 and NaGdP2O7 powder samples are prepared by solid-state reactions at 750 and 600 °C, respectively, and the VUV-excited luminescence properties of Ln3+ (Ln=Ce, Pr, Tb, Tm, Eu) in both diphosphates are studied. Ln3+ ions in both hosts show analogous luminescence. For Ce3+-doped samples, the five Ce3+ 5d levels can be clearly identified. As for Pr3+ and Tb3+-doped samples, strong 4f-5d absorption band around 172 nm is observed, which matches well with Xe-He excimer in plasma display panel (PDP) devices. As a result, Pr3+ can be utilized as sensitizer to absorb 172 nm VUV photon and transfer energy to appropriate activators, and Tb3+-doped NaREP2O7(RE=La, Gd) are potential 172 nm excited green PDP phosphors. For Tm3+ and Eu3+-doped samples, the Tm3+-O2− charge transfer band (CTB) is observed to be at 177 nm, but the CTB of Eu3+ is observed at abnormally low energy position, which might originate from multi-position of Eu3+ ions. The similarity in luminescence properties of Ln3+ in both hosts indicates certain structural resemblance of coordination environment of Ln3+ in the two sodium rare earth diphosphates.  相似文献

The fluorescence property of xTbF3-BaF2-AlF3-GeO2+ySmF3 (x=0.01-40 mol%, y=0-5 wt%) glasses were investigated. The enhancement of Sm3+ fluorescence was recognized in the presence of Tb3+. Increasing Tb3+ content, the emission color changed from green to orange. When the intensity of fluorescence at 540 nm originated from Tb3+ is compared with that at 600 nm originated from Sm3+, the information about the concentration quenching of Tb3+ and Sm3+ was obtained. From these results, rare earth ions were dispersed identically in the glasses. After heating to 673 K or cooling to 77 K, the emission color of 20TbF3-20BaF2-10AlF3-50GeO2/mol%+0.05 wt% SmF3 glass was reversibly changed from orange to green. In addition, while the emission from 10TbF3-20BaF2-10AlF3-60GeO2+0.01 wt% SmF3 glass was green, its crystallized sample, prepared by annealing at 1073 K, exhibited an orange emission due to Sm3+ at room temperature.  相似文献
