In this paper, two algorithms, one is an Alternative Fujii method and other is parameterized form of temporal difference (PTD) method are presented. Experimental results for both the methods using sequential biospeckle images of fresh apple have been presented and compared with the results obtained using that of Generalized Difference (GD) and Parameterized Fujii. Good agreements are seen for particular values of parameters.  相似文献

We demonstrate an intrinsic biochemical concentration sensor based on a polymer optical fiber Bragg grating. The water content absorbed by the polymer fiber from a surrounding solution depends on the concentration of the solution because of the osmotic effect. The variation of water content in the fiber causes a change in the fiber dimensions and a variation in refractive index and, therefore, a shift in the Bragg wavelength. Saline solutions with concentration from 0% to 22% were used to demonstrate the sensing principle, resulting in a total wavelength shift of 0.9 nm, allowing high-resolution concentration measurements to be realized.  相似文献

A novel low cost, non-contact optical vibration sensor requiring only a single optoelectronic component has been developed. It consists of a continuous wave semiconductor laser operating with external optical feedback. Vibrations have been measured at frequencies of up to 600 Hz with target reflectivities lower than 5%. When calibrated, the sensor demonstrates satisfactory output for submicron vibration amplitudes. Accuracies of 0.2% have been obtained over a range of 1 mm.  相似文献

Understanding neuron connections is a great challenge, which is needed to solve many important problems in neurobiology and neuroengineering for recreation of brain functions and efficient biorobotics. In particular, a design of an optical synapse capable to communicate with neuron spike sequences would be crucial to improve the functionality of neuromimmetic networks. In this work we propose an optical synaptic sensor based on an erbium-doped fiber laser driven by a FitzHung-Nagumo electronic neuron, to connect with another electronic neuron. Two possible optical synaptic configurations are analyzed for optoelectronic coupling between neurons: laser cavity loss modulation and pump laser modulation. The control parameters of the proposed optical synapse provide additional degrees of flexibility to the neuron connection traditionally controlled only by coupling strengths in artificial networks.  相似文献

This paper describes development of the optical current transducers using flint glass fiber as the Faraday effect sensing element. Excellent polarization properties of the fiber with low birefringence are described, and the design and test data of a current transducer using the fiber manufactured for use in electric power facilities are reviewed. Experimental results on flexible characteristics of a scheme with round trip light transmission in the fiber is also reported.  相似文献

The Kerr and the electrostrictive contributions to the intensity-dependent nonlinear refractive index in optical fibers are discussed on both theoretical and experimental bases. Particular attention is devoted to the electrostrictive contribution that under particular conditions is enhanced by resonances. The resonant behavior of the electrostrictive effect is calculated, measured, and discussed for standard single-mode fibers and dispersion shifted fibers. Experimental results are also reported. Measure ments have been carried out with a simple and effective technique based on the cross-phase modulation effect that also allows one to evaluate the nonlinear refractive index at any bit rate. Electrostriction contributes 20 % to the total nonlinear refractive index but in the resonant regime becomes comparable to the Kerr effect.  相似文献

针对目前国内自主研制的激光位移传感器精度低,测量范围小等问题,提出了一种采用光学设计软件预先仿真整个激光位移传感器光学系统的方法。在分析系统各部分的光学特性的基础上,结合具体要求设计了一个激光位移传感器的光学系统,其工作范围为(50±10)mm。采用系统分割的方法,将整个光学系统分为两部分进行设计,第一部分是激光束的整形透镜,要求在有效的工作范围内得到小而均匀的出射光斑,设计结果表明,在测量范围内,光斑大小能够控制在10-1mm量级;另一部分是被测面散射光接收的成像物镜,该系统的特点是物面和像面相对于光轴都有一定的角度,实验结果表明其成像满足Scbeimpflug条件。  相似文献

We describe a general way how to calculate optical forces acting on Rayleigh particles or colloids placed into general interference field. In this paper, we focus on a configuration with three interfering beams laying in one plane and we present a comprehensive analysis of trap properties and particle behaviour. We found that this arrangement can be used for simultaneous 2D/3D confinement or sorting of particles having refractive index higher or lower comparing to the surrounding immersion medium.  相似文献

The possibilities with which an optical mouse can be applied to obtain scientific measurements are currently limited by the maximum distance possible between the mouse and surface under interrogation. We demonstrate that a simply adapted optical mouse is able to operate as a recording instrument in the digital speckle correlation mode; wherein greater distances between optical mouse and translating surface are possible. Linear (R2 > 0.98) and repeatable measurements in the x and y axis were obtained with the optical mouse and translating surface separated at 300 mm. In both cases, the measurement resolution was 0.025 mm. Digital speckle correlation with an optical mouse offers the ability to obtain measurements of displacement and deformation at a fraction of the investment in time and cost of conventional setups.  相似文献

The realization of an optical fibre sensor applied to cryogenic temperature measurement in harsh environments is presented. The measurement principle is based on the analysis of the decay-time of the fluorescence emitted by special doped crystals, the excited state lifetimes of which are greatly dependent on temperature. The sensor is intended to work in the presence of strong perturbations encountered on the testing benches of the liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen turbo-pumps of the Ariane 5 Vulcan engine developed by ‘la Societé Européenne de Propulsion (SEP)’.  相似文献

A novel decision gathering scheme for optical wireless sensor networks (OWSNs) is proposed and thoroughly analyzed in this article. The proposed technique relies on a tunable optical filter (TOF) that is mounted on each sensor node. Specifically, the received laser signal from a central unit at any particular node is modulated through the TOF, where it is either rejected or passed in accordance to the sensed result. The output of the TOF is passed to a corner cube reflector (CCR) that reflects the optical signal either back to the central unit or to another node in the OWSN. Three different setups are considered to implement the proposed scheme and the pros and cons of each setup are thoroughly discussed. It is revealed that the energy requirement of each sensor node is minimized as energy is only consumed in the process of sensing and adjusting the TOF. The performance of the proposed scheme is analyzed through a mathematical framework to derive the average decision error rate (DER) for all setups. Moreover, simulation results analyze the impact of key system parameters including atmospheric turbulence, transmit power, link distance, filter efficiency and detection threshold.  相似文献

In this paper we focus on a configuration with three interfering waves and we present a comprehensive analysis of optical trap positions, depths, and forces depending on the configuration and polarisation of the incident waves. In this paper, we present an experimental approach to track coarsening process of foam using a computer optical mouse as a dynamic laser speckle measurement sensor. The dynamics of foam coarsening and rearrangement events cause changes in the intensity of laser speckle backscattered from the foam. A strong negative correlation between the average speed of the cursor and the evolution of bubble diameter was found. We used microscopic images to demonstrate that decrease in speed is related to increase in bubble size. The proposed set-up is not very expensive, is highly portable and can be used in laboratory measurements of dynamics in other kinds of opaque materials.  相似文献

An interferometric fibre-optic temperature sensing system employing a light emitting diode (LED) as the broadband optical source and a single mode fibre coil which was fabricated in a definite length as the sensor head is described. A reference fibre line transmitting back and forth along the same path as the sensing transmitting fibre is used, so the change caused by the environmental temperature fluctuation of the fibre path can automatically be compensated. The sensitivity of the sensing system can be easily improved by using the long length of the sensing fibre. The experiment results of the sensing gauge length versus the sensitivity are given. Two typical wavelengths (1300 and 1550 nm). LED sources are used, it is shown that the sensitivity of the system between the two wavelengths is different. The experimental curve of the resolution characteristic of the system related to the length of sensing fibre coil is also discussed.  相似文献

微型数字式太阳敏感器光学系统由APS CMOS图像传感器和基于MEMS工艺的小孔阵列式光线引入器组成。图像传感器的分辨率为1024×1024pixel,像素尺寸为10μm×10μm;光线引入器具有微小孔阵列结构,小孔为方形孔,30×30阵列,尺寸为60μm×60μm,间距为250μm。光线引入器采用了MEMS工艺的掩模板制备工艺。针对所设计的光学系统计算了曝光时间,并在此基础上进行了地面成像实验。实验结果表明,光学系统设计合理,保证了敏感器所具有的高精度和大视场。  相似文献

An optical fiber curvature sensor based on interference between LP01–LP02 modes of a circularly symmetric few mode fiber (FMF) is presented. The device consists of two single-mode fiber and a 10-cm FMF. The two single-mode fiber is offset-spliced to each end of the FMF. When the optical fiber is kept straight and fixed, the interference pattern appears in the transmitted spectrum. As the fiber device is bent, the visibility of the interference fringes (at 1530 nm) decreases, reaching values close to 0.3. The dynamic range of the device can be tailored by the proper selection of the length of FMF. The relationship between the fringe visibility and the curvature is linear while the curvature is between 11 m−1 and 16 m−1. The result indicates that the compact sensor can be used in the measurement of large curvature, which is also important in structural health monitoring.  相似文献

提出一种具有温度自校准功能的光纤折射率(RI)传感器,传感头结构由2段很短的多模光纤(MMF)之间夹熔一段对折射率不敏感的光纤布拉格光栅(FBG)构成,传感头总长度为14 mm,FBG可以为折射率测量提供良好的温度校准功能。实验结果证明,该传感器的折射率灵敏度为126 nm。其干涉光谱共振波长的温度灵敏度为35.09 pm/℃,用于温度校准的FBG的温度灵敏度为11.14 pm/℃。相比于普通的折射率传感器,这种具有温度自校准功能的折射率传感器具有良好的实用前景。  相似文献
