In this paper, the design, implementation and performance analysis of various one dimensional codes in an OCDMA system for different data formats is presented. A number of different codes are used with optical CDMA to improve its error performance. Here, three such codes, optical orthogonal codes (OOC), Walsh Hadamard codes and zero cross-correlation (ZCC) codes have been compared using different data formats, NRZ raised cosine, NRZ rectangular, RZ raised cosine and RZ rectangular. It is found that NRZ raised cosine has the best system performance for all the codes used. After that, the three codes have been compared in terms of the BER, eye diagrams and received optical power using NRZ raised cosine modulation format. It is analyzed that ZCC codes have zero cross-correlation property. The simulation results revealed that ZCC codes can provide a better BER compared to the OOC and Walsh Hadamard codes and it is most suitable to be employed in the OCDMA systems.  相似文献

In order to construct multilength optical orthogonal codes (ML OOCs) with correlation constraint 2 for multi-rate OCDMA passive optical networks, a high efficiency construction method is presented. The main idea is to construct high efficiency mapping sequences to map optimal short length OOCs with cross correlation 2 into long length OOCs with cross correlation 2. Fundamental of constructing high efficiency mapping sequence is derived, and the mapping sequences based on multiplication table of integer domain is examined. Simulations based on the method show that the cardinality of long length OOCs is just slightly lower than Johnson bound. Therefore, it has very high variable length efficiency.  相似文献

In this paper, we present space/wavelength/time single pulse per plane (SPP) codes with direct detection (SPPDD) and implemented it as two dimensional codes by using W2T scheme. We analyze these codes by varying the number of space channels (S) and keeping other two dimensions, wavelength (W) and time (T) constant and report that it gives better results when (W > S). It is found that the space channels S = 2 and S = 3 provide better BER rate than other space channels and also analyze these 3D codes by using different data modulation formats. It is found that OCDMA system with NRZ data modulation format performs better than RZ.  相似文献

In the evolvement of Passive Optical Network (PON), the performance of hybrid Wavelength-Time Division Multiplexing based PON (WDM-TDM PON) is directly determined by the network architecture. This letter proposes a Tunable Wavelength Converter (TWC) based switching structure (TWC-SS) for WDM/TDM hybrid PON. Using the tunable wavelength converter technology, this Switch Node is designed and introduced into the hybrid WDM/TDM PON. Improved performances brought by the Switch Node on packet loss rate, bandwidth-utilization rate are proved by experimental results.  相似文献

A new family of two-dimensional codes for optical CDMA systems   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The design of a new family of two-dimensional single pulse per column codes for optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) networks is reported. The 1-D modified pseudo-noise codes have been known to be orthogonal and their generation and system design based on these codes is rather simple. But their performance is limited due to the bandwidth constraints if the code length increases. Hence, using these 1-D modified pseudo-noise codes, modified 2-D pseudo-noise matrix codes (MPMCs) are generated. The system performance is evaluated for two, three and four simultaneous users using the link with all the sources responsible for degradation included: attenuation, chromatic dispersion, non-linear refractive effects, non-linear scattering and four-wave mixing. The effect of the non-linear and lossy dispersive medium over the system performance is shown by plotting the BER with respect to the link length for the systems designed using encoders/decoders base on 1-D modified pseudo-noise codes and our MPMCs. The performance is compared for the two types of codes by finding the crosstalk due to interfering users simultaneously operating in the network.  相似文献

对光正交码(OOC)的特性和二维地址码的构造方法进行研究,介绍了一种用于OCDMA系统的二维时间/频率组合码的构造方法,分析该地址码的自相关和互相关特性,以及该地址码的实现方法.分析结果表明,由单极性码OOC构造而成的二维时间/频率组合码OOC/OOC不仅具有良好的自相关和互相关特性,而且可以通过采用光纤布拉格光栅编解码器和阵列波导光栅编解码器实现快速、灵活编码.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the joint performance of fountain codes and 802.11a/g PHY modulation/coding. We consider optimality both in terms of maximizing goodput and minimizing energy, and results are presented for both theoretical and experimental channel models. In contrast to studies in cellular networks, we find that in 802.11a/g WLANs the cross-layer approach of a higher-layer fountain coding with a PHY layer modulation and FEC coding can yield very limited gains, and the PHY modulation/rate that optimizes the uncoded multicast performance is also close to that for fountain-coded multicast traffic over a wide-range of network conditions. This is potentially an important observation as it indicates that in 802.11a/g WLANs cross-layer design for multicast rate control would bring few benefits and PHY layer rate control can be carried out without regard to the use of fountain coding at higher layers.  相似文献

This work describes the theory and design of a generic multipurpose device that can operate as a tunable wavelength filter, wavelength multiplexer and wavelength router. This device could be especially useful in optical network applications based in both coarse and dense wavelength division multiplexing technology. The enabling component is a ferroelectric liquid crystal spatial light modulator (SLM) where dynamic holograms are implemented in real time. As a consequence, the device will be able to carry out different functions according to the hologram recorded onto the SLM. The great advantage of this device is a polarization insensitivity operation, allowing low crosstalk and simple handling.  相似文献

介绍了光码分多址系统中常用地址码(一维扩时码、二维码和三维码)的特点,并对它们各自的互相关均值和方差进行了理论分析。基于非相干光码分多址系统中光学相关接收机的基本原理,结合不同的用户地址码,对系统误码率性能进行了分析,得到了接收机最佳判决阈值与地址码基本特性参数和系统同时用户数间的关系。最后,给出了数值仿真结果。结果表明,对于采用特定地址码的光码分多址系统,只有选择合适的接收机判决阈值,系统的误码率性能才能达到最佳。研究结果对光码分多址系统中接收机判决阈值的选取具有一定的参考作用。  相似文献

首次在有限伽罗瓦域GF(7)上以本原元3构造出RS地址序列码.在一维RS素数码的基础上,给出基于二素数的二维RS矩阵码(2D-RSC)的设计方案.系统地研究了2D-RSC的OCDMA系统总体性能:分析了2D-RSC码字的相关性;导出了系统的最大用户容量;研究了2D-RSC系统以多址干扰为主的误码性能.结果表明:2D-RSC系统性能较之一维RS码有明显的改进. 特别是在大信息量传输时,采用两个较大的素数,基于2D-RSC的OCDMA系统的总体性能远优于一维素数码.  相似文献

A robust method for measuring 3D shapes is proposed, in which only one stripe pattern image is required. To determine edge correspondence, we match color codes instead of edge codes because the former are more stable and immune to the standard deviation of the Gaussian filter in edge detection and width of the color band. The color code is identified by K-means. This method exhibits huge advantages in adaptability and automation over thresholding techniques. The proposed decoding method is compared with two well-known algorithms, dynamic programming and multi-pass dynamic programming. Using ground truth, we evaluate the performance of the methods in measuring three different objects. Quantitative and qualitative comparisons are shown in the experiments, and results affirm that our method is effective and robust.  相似文献

For the purpose of multichannel integrated-optical wavelength division MUX/DEMUX design, the wavelength tuning method of Ti:LiNbO3 zero-gap directional coupler is analysed by effective-index based matrix method (EIMM). In this method, first, the 2D refractive index profile of the Ti:LiNbO3 zero-gap directional coupler is transformed into lateral 1D effective-index profile by WKB method. Finally, matrix method is applied to this effective-index profile and the propagation constants are computed from the resonance peaks of the excitation efficiency versus propagation constant characteristics. It has been shown that the channel wavelength tuning can be achieved by varying the Y-branching angle at the input and output of the device or by a slight variation of two-mode-section length. The method of electro-optic fine tuning of the channel wavelength and channel separation of the device has also been investigated. A cascaded structure with proper parameters for four-channel application is also simulated and the results are presented.  相似文献

Frequency encoding technique is a very promising and faithful technology for very fast long-haul optical communication and super fast computation. Implementation of different logic gates based on the principle of frequency conversion is the key mechanism of frequency encoded data processing and networking. It is established that semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA) have been used successfully for the purpose of frequency conversion. One of the important techniques of frequency conversion is the conjugate beam generation by four wave mixing (FWM) in SOA and ultimately conversion of it into desired frequency by means of reflecting semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA). However the efficiency of conjugate beam generation is restricted by polarization dependent gain saturation of SOA. This dependency can be successfully removed using polarization diversity scheme. Another technique of the frequency conversion is based on nonlinear rotation of the state of polarization of the linearly polarized probe beam. An important advantage of using polarization rotation in SOA is that a small change in rotation of the state of polarization will lead to a large difference in output power. Here in our present communication we propose a method of developing wavelength encoded AND, NAND and X-OR logic operations exploiting the above mentioned functions of SOA. For this purpose we have developed an analytical treatment based on which above mentioned three logic gates are conducted. The satisfactory simulation result proves also the validity of the developed theory.  相似文献

Flattop response within the passband is an important desirable feature of any wavelength selective component that goes into a DWDM optical network. In this paper, we report design and fabrication recipe for realizing wavelength interleavers/slicers with flattop wavelength response, configured around unbalanced all-fiber 2-stage Mach-Zehnder interferometers (MZI). Based on a comprehensive analysis, we have developed a design process/algorithm to determine the optimum splitting ratios as well as the relationship between the splitting ratios of the couplers that constitute the 2-stage MZI, to achieve a flattop wavelength response. The implication of the second delay line with respect to its presence in the upper/lower arm of the second stage of the MZI is highlighted through an algebraic analysis. This revealed that there would be corresponding changes in the optimum splitting ratios of the couplers. These features of our design analysis were then exploited to fabricate a wavelength interleaver with a near box-like response, which validated our algorithm. The polarization dependent losses of the device were measured to be ≈ 0.4 dB. Our analysis and fabrication recipe should be useful in the realization of flattop all-fiber wavelength interleavers for deployment in DWDM networks of high spectral efficiency.  相似文献
