We present three families of soliton solutions to the generalized (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation with distributed coefficients. We investigate the dynamics of these solitons in nonlinear optics with some selected parameters. Different shapes of bright solitons, a train of bright solitons and dark solitons are observed. The obtained results may raise the possibilities of relevant experiments and potential applications.  相似文献

We present analytical bright multisoliton solutions to the generalized nonautonomous nonlinear Schrödinger equation with time- and space-dependent distributed coefficients in Fourier-synthesized optical lattice potential based on the similarity transformation technique. Such solutions exist in certain constraint conditions on the coefficients depicting dispersion, nonlinearity, and gain (or loss). Various shapes of bright solitons and interesting interactions between two solitons are observed, including soliton trains, collapse and revival of condensates, and two periodic M-shape solitons with collision. Phenomena of a few solitons and physical applications of interest to the field are discussed.  相似文献

We discuss the nonlinear Schr6dinger equation with variable coefficients in 21) graded-index waveguides with different distributed transverse diffractions and obtain exact bright and dark soliton solutions. Based on these solutions, we mainly investigate the dynamical behaviors of solitons in three different diffraction decreasing waveguides with the hyperbolic, Gaussian and Logarithmic profiles. Results indicate that for the same parameters, the amplitude of bright solitons in the Logarithmic profile and the amplitude of dark solitons in the Gaussian profile are biggest respectively, and the amplitude in the hyperbolic profile is smallest, while the width of solitons has the opposite case.  相似文献

By symbolic computation and a direct method, this paper presents some exact analytical solutions of the one-dimensional generalized inhomogeneous higher-order nonlinear Schr?dinger equation with variable coefficients, which include bright solitons, dark solitons, combined solitary wave solutions, dromions, dispersion-managed solitons, etc. The abundant structure of these solutions are shown by some interesting figures with computer simulation.  相似文献

The property of matter-wave vector solitons in a spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate with spin-orbit and Zeeman couplings is investigated by multiscale perturbation method. The excitation spectrum and the corresponding state vectors of the system are obtained analytically, and they can be adjusted by the parameters of the system. The bright and dark vector solitons are formulated by reducing the three-component coupled Gross-Pitaeviskii equations to a standard nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which has the solutions of the bright and dark solitons with positive or negative mass depending on the product of the effective dispersive and nonlinear coefficients. The moving vector solitons are demonstrated by adjusting specific momentum near the energy minimum. Finally, the magnetized features of the vector solitons are discussed by the spin polarization of the system.  相似文献

By means of the similarity transformation connecting with the solvable stationary equation, the self-similar combined Jacobian elliptic function solutions and fractional form solutions of the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) are obtained when the dispersion, nonlinearity, and gain or absorption are varied. The propagation dynamics in a periodic distributed amplification system is investigated. Self-similar cnoidal waves and corresponding localized waves including bright and dark similaritons (or solitons) for NLSE and arch and kink similaritons (or solitons) for cubic-quintic NLSE are analyzed. The results show that the intensity and the width of chirped cnoidal waves (or similaritons) change more distinctly than that of chirp-free counterparts (or solitons).  相似文献

This paper study the dynamics of optical solitons for nonlinear directional couplers. This coupler system is considered with the group velocity dispersion and the cross-phase modulation of two components along with the spatiotemporal dispersion coefficients. The constraint conditions for the existence of optical Gaussons and dark solitons are listed under the log law and Kerr law nonlinearities, repectively. Additionally, a couple of other solutions known as singular periodic and combined dark-singular solitons, fall out as a by-product of this scheme. This scheme however fails to retrieve bright soliton solution.  相似文献

Dark solitons are the subject of intense theoretical and experimental studies in nonlinear optics due to their unique characteristics compared with bright solitons. In this paper, the variable coefficient high-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation in the inhomogeneous optical fiber is investigated. Via the Hirota bilinear method and symbolic computation, the analytic dark two-soliton solutions are obtained. With the suitable choices of functions and coefficients for the obtained dark two-soliton solutions, some new phenomena are presented for the first time. The influences on phases and amplitudes of soliton interactions are detailed analyzed. Moreover, sets of double-triangle structures and methods of changing the propagation direction of dark solitons are introduced. Finally, by choosing suitable functions of the fourth-order dispersion parameter, the arch-structure and M-structure interactions are revealed. Results may be potentially useful in designing all-optical switches and optical fibers.  相似文献

We consider a generalized fifth-order KdV equation with time-dependent coefficients exhibiting higher-degree nonlinear terms. This nonlinear evolution equation describes the interaction between a water wave and a floating ice cover and gravity-capillary waves. By means of the subsidiary ordinary differential equation method, some new exact soliton solutions are derived. Among these solutions, we can find the well known bright and dark solitons with sech and tanh function shapes, and other soliton-like solutions. These solutions may be useful to explain the nonlinear dynamics of waves in an inhomogeneous KdV system supporting high-order dispersive and nonlinear effects.  相似文献

We present exact analytical results for bright and dark solitons in a type of one-dimensional spatially inhomogeneous nonlinearity. We show that the competition between a homogeneous self-defocusing (SDF) nonlinearity and a localized self-focusing (SF) nonlinearity supports stable fundamental bright solitons. For a specific choice of the nonlinear parameters, exact analytical solutions for fundamental bright solitons have been obtained. By applying both variational approximation and Vakhitov-Kolokolov stability criterion, it is found that exact fundamental bright solitons are stable. Our analytical results are also confirmed numerically. Additionally, we show that a homogeneous SF nonlinearity modulated by a localized SF nonlinearity allows the existence of exact dark solitons, for certain special cases of nonlinear parameters. By making use of linear stability analysis and direct numerical simulation, it is found that these exact dark solitons are linearly unstable.  相似文献

In this paper, we obtain exact soliton solutions of the modified KdV equation, inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation and G(m, n) equation with variable-coefficients using solitary wave ansatz. The constraint conditions among the time-dependent coefficients turn out as necessary conditions for the solitons to exist. This paper obtains solitons and singular periodic solutions to the generalized resonant dispersive nonlinear Schrödinger’ equation with power law nonlinearity. There are several integration tools that are adopted to extract these solutions. They are simplest equation method, functional variable method, sine–cosine function method, tanh function method and the G′/G-expansion method. These integration techniques reveal bright and singular solitons as well as the corresponding singular periodic solutions to the nonlinear evolution equation. These solitons solutions are important in the nonlinear fiber optics community as well as in the study of rogue waves.  相似文献

An improved homogeneous balance principle and an F-expansion technique are used to construct analytical solutions to the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation with distributed coefficients and linear and nonlinear gain (or loss). For limiting parameters, these periodic wave solutions acquire the form of localized spatial solitons. Such solutions exist under certain conditions, and impose constraints on the functions describing dispersion, nonlinearity, and gain (or loss). The exact chirped bright and dark soliton-like solutions of generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation including linear and nonlinear gain(loss) with variable coefficients describing dispersion-management or soliton control is obtained detailedly in this paper. To begin our numerical studies of the stability of the solutions, we present a periodically distributed dispersion management or soliton control system as an example. It is found that both the bright and dark soliton-like solutions are stable during propagation in the given system. The numerical results are well in accordance with those obtained by analytical methods.  相似文献

In this letter the three-dimensional nonlinear Helmholtz equation is investigated.which describes electromagnetic wave propagation in a nonlinear Kerr-type medium such that sixteen families of new Jacobi elliptic function solutions are obtained,by using our extended Jacobian elliptic function expansion method.When the modulus m-→1 or 0,the corresponding solitary waves including bright solitons,dark solitons and new line solitons and singly periodic solutions can be also found.  相似文献

We show by using the real exponential approach that the d-dimensional discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation has more general dispersionless envelope lattice soliton solutions than the known bright soliton and kink solutions. Depending on the values of the parameters, the new solutions can describe both bright and dark lattice solitons. Especially, we find novel “W”-like envelope lattice solitons.  相似文献
