A novel three-port channel add/drop filter consisting of two waveguides and two cavities is proposed. One is used for a resonant tunneling-based channel add/drop operation from the bus waveguide to the add/drop waveguide, while the other is used to realize the wavelength-selective reflection feedback in the bus waveguide. By means of coupled mode theory in time, the conditions to achieve 100% add efficiency are derived thoroughly. Based on these theoretical analysis, the channel add filter and some other multi-channel filters are designed in two-dimensional photonic crystals (2D PCs) with square lattice of dielectric rods in air. The numerical results by using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method demonstrate almost complete channel add/drop tunneling at resonance via the three-port systems.  相似文献

为满足高功率微波系统功率容量和紧凑化需求,提出了一种新型波导双工器。选用过模波导进行设计以提高功率容量,引入三角形金属插片结构谐振腔设计滤波器并在其间引入波导弯头以实现紧凑化。采用微波网络方法对滤波器进行理论分析并设计了两个工作在X波段的滤波器,选择终端短路法确定T型结尺寸并组成双工器。利用电磁仿真软件建模优化和仿真模拟,并对实物进行测试。仿真与测试结果表明,该波导双工器单通道工作时的功率容量分别大于0.11 GW和0.12 GW,两个通道的传输效率分别大于83.9%和82.4%,通道间隔离度大于20 dB。此外还可以根据需求增加滤波器阶数和引入更多的波导弯头以提高空间利用率。  相似文献

单谐振腔束团长度监测器利用谐振腔内的两个本征模式测量ps量级的电子束团长度,它的关键是如何将两个不同频率的模式互不干扰地耦合提取出来。为解决这个问题,基于低通和带通滤波器的理论,提出了同轴滤波耦合结构和膜片加载波导滤波结构,借助CST微波工作室对滤波器进行建模并仿真得到其S参数。为测试耦合器的应用效果,设计了一套带有该耦合结构的单谐振腔束团长度监测器探头,根据国家同步辐射实验室基于可调谐红外激光的能源化学研究大型实验装置FELiChEM的束流特点,在CST内对所设计的探头进行束流模拟仿真。仿真结果表明,该耦合器可以实现对特定模式的耦合,并有效降低其它模式的干扰,采用同轴滤波耦合结构和膜片加载波导滤波结构的谐振腔监测器可以实现对FELiChEM装置束团长度的高精度测量,测量误差小于2 %。  相似文献

基于傅里叶模式理论分析了双层浮雕型导模共振光栅的共振效应,分别讨论了光栅的槽深、剩余厚度、周期以及填充系数对峰值反射率、带宽、旁带反射率的影响. 数据计算表明,欠刻蚀情形的误差宽容度远远优于过刻蚀情形,两者在光栅槽深相对误差小于15%的范围内,都能保证共振峰的衍射效率高于99.5%,在相同的误差范围内,共振峰线宽的相对误差将分别达到7%和60%,因此厚度误差集中反映在对共振线宽的改变上. 另外,光栅周期和填充系数的变化将明显改变共振峰中心波长和线宽. 关键词: 导模共振 平面波导 窄带滤波  相似文献

Resonance cavity is a basic element in optics,which has wide applications in optical devices.Coupled cavities(CCs)designed in metal-insulator-metal(MIM)bus waveguide are investigated through the finite difference time domain method and coupled-mode theory.In the CCs,the resonant modes of the surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs)split with the thickness decreasing of the middle baffle.Through the coupled-mode theory analysis,it is found that the phase differences introduced in opposite and positive couplings between two cavities lead to mode splitting.The resonant wavelength of positive coupling mode can be tuned in a large range(about 644 nm)through adjusting the coupling strength,which is quite different from the classical adjustment of the optical path in a single cavity.Based on the resonances of the CCs in the MIM waveguide,more compact devices can be designed to manipulate SPPs propagation.A device is designed to realize flexible multiple-wavelength SPPs routing.The coupling in CC structures can be applied to the design of easy-integrated laser cavities,filters,multiple-wavelength management devices in SPPs circuits,nanosensors,etc.  相似文献

We examine the thickness of various layers in terms of the dependence of the loss of various modes in a waveguide polarizer based on the resonant tunneling effect. An improved method is proposed to obtain the optimum design of such a polarizer. Fabrication tolerances of the designed device are also discussed. The study should be very useful in the design of a waveguide polarizer and other devices, such as selective wavelength filters, based on the same principle.  相似文献

Transmission resonant filters in a waveguide with vertical gratings have been realized in silicon on insulator wafers. Experimental studies of fabricated devices show a broad stopband of approximately 19 nm in the center of which exists a narrow transmission band of approximately 0.5 nm with a quality factor of approximately 3000. These resonant cavities are useful for laser cavities, switches, modulators, detectors, and tunable filters.  相似文献

In this paper, two dimensional photonic crystal, based eight-channel demultiplexer is proposed and designed for DWDM applications. The performance parameters of the demultiplexer such as transmission efficiency, channel spacing, spectral line width, Q factor, and crosstalk have been evaluated. The proposed demultiplexer comprises of bus waveguide, drop waveguide and parellogram resonant cavity (PRC). The bus waveguide transmits light to the PRC and exits through respective drop waveguide. The PRC consists of a parellogram resonator with a nano ring cavity that is used for dropping eight specific wavelength for ITU-T G 694.1 standard with 50 GHz channel spacing. The circular ring resonator is placed above the PRC wherein a resonant air hole (Cr) is positioned for desired channel selection. The channel selection is done by altering the radius of the air hole. In addition, a conjugate radiant neural network is implemented for optimizing the radii of resonant air holes to select the required channel wavelength. The proposed device is very compact and it could be considered for implementing the photonic integrated circuits.  相似文献

采用二维正方排列的光子晶体,根据微腔缺陷模和波导模共振耦合原理,设计了一种新型的多信道下载滤波器,该滤波器通过主波导、90°弯波导和共振微腔的组合,提高了各个信道下载波导的下载效率。利用二维时域有限差分法模拟了滤波器的传输特性,并理论分析了影响下载效率的因素,进一步对滤波器进行了优化,使得各信道下载波导的下载效率均在91%以上。模拟结果表明该滤波器能有效地实现光波的分波下载,传输谱信道波长间隔约为20nm,中心波长误差为±2nm,传输谱的最大半宽度为3.2nm,有良好的波长选择性,证实了增大下载波导和共振微腔的耦合区域可以有效地提高滤波器的下载效率。  相似文献

A high spectral resolution analysis of narrowband reflection filters based on resonant grating waveguide structures is presented. A tunable high-performance dye laser with ∼ 0.15 cm-1 line width and a beam analyzing system consisting of three simultaneously controlled CCD cameras were used to investigate grating waveguide resonances at wavelengths in the 694 nm and 633 nm ranges. A reflectivity of ∼ 91% and a line width of ∼ 0.55 nm were measured and theoretically modeled for a resonant reflection filter specifically designed for the ruby laser wavelength 694.2 nm. For a second grating waveguide structure, designed for the helium-neon laser emission wavelength 632.8 nm, we observed a thermal shift of its spectral resonance position of several nanometers, when increasing the sample temperature by some degrees. An inverse thermal shift was observed when the structure was subsequently cooled down to room temperature. Our results suggest implementation of grating waveguide devices combining a narrow line width with a tunability of the resonant response into innovative concepts for reflection filter and sensor applications. We propose a compound plasmonic–dielectric system consisting of one-dimension metallic gratings made of core–shell membranes and a Si grating waveguide with periodic grooves on one side, to investigate the coupled-grating-induced transparency (CGIT) effect. Both elements of the system can support certain resonant modes respectively, which have almost identical resonant frequencies but highly different quality factors, which are demonstrated by a theory model and the coupled mode theory. The electromagnetic response of the compound plasmonic–dielectric system induces coupling between these two types of gratings resonators and causes a transparency phenomenon due to the destructive interference of the resonant modes. The results show that the CGIT effect is associated with remarkable improvement of the group index corresponding to high transmission efficiency.  相似文献

A structure of two dimensional T-shaped metal-insulator-metal waveguide with dual-nanocavity is proposed. The two nanocavities located at each side of the slit on the lower metallic surface, act as band rejection filters and are capable of stopping the surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) at the resonant wavelengths. The Fabry-Perot interferometry theory and the Finite-Difference-Time-Domain method are utilized to investigate the proposed waveguide. The numerical results demonstrate the realization of miniaturized photonic devices for effectively switching the SPPs propagation between the left and right waveguides in one direction.  相似文献

基于亥姆霍兹共振腔单元设计并制作了一种一维局域共振型声子晶体, 针对结构中存在点缺陷的情况, 进行了实验研究. 实验结果表明, 由于点缺陷的存在, 局域共振型声禁带中出现了缺陷模式, 并且在缺陷单元周围引起了能量的局域现象, 与理论结果符合较好. 缺陷单元从两个不同的方向趋近于完美单元时, 缺陷模式分别按照不同的规律变化, 但是越靠近禁带边缘, 所局域的能量就越多. 另外, 当缺陷单元共振频率小于完美单元共振频率时, 局域能量主要集中在声波导内; 反之, 局域能量则主要集中在共振腔内. 本研究对设计新型低频声滤波装置及高声强集中装置具有一定意义. 关键词: 亥姆霍兹共振腔 声子晶体 缺陷模式 能量局域化  相似文献

In this paper, a new channel drop filter in two dimensional photonic crystals with mirror cavities is proposed. In the structure, three cavities are used. One is used for a resonant tunneling-based channel drop filter. The others are used to realize reflection feedback in the bus waveguide, which consists of a point defect micro-cavity side-coupled to a waveguide. We study the transmission characteristics of a photonic crystal waveguide with a single stub of a finite length and propose a double-stub waveguide structure for its application to optical filters. The proposed device operates as a Fabry-Perot interferometer and can be used as a broad bandstop filter and a narrow bandpass filter. These filters are inherently compact and their center frequency is given by the resonant frequency of the stub.  相似文献

In this paper, we design resonant reflection grating filters employing the second diffracted orders as the leaky modes, then analyze the bandwidth of the reflection peak and the electric field distributions inside the waveguide under resonance. The numeric calculation confirms that ultra-narrow resonant reflection peaks can be observed in these structures. At the same time, strong electric field enhancement appears under resonance. It provides a new approach to diversify the resonant reflection filters and may open a new way to the realization of ultra-narrow bandwidth filters.  相似文献

We fabricated a new type of two-dimensional photonic crystal slab filter. The resonant cavities were directly put into the waveguide arms. The optical transmissions of the filters were measured and the results show that the optimized two-channel filters give good intensity distribution at the output ports of the waveguide. A minimum wavelength spacing of 5~nm of the filter outputs isrealized by accurately controlling the size of the resonant cavities.  相似文献

导模共振滤波器由于其高峰值反射率,低旁带反射,窄带以及带宽可控等优良特性引起了人们极大的关注,采用亚波长光栅的导模共振效应可以实现传统基于高低折射率介质的多层膜滤波器所无法实现的特殊功能,在弱调制模式下,其共振带宽可以被压缩到零点几纳米,但是由于介质表面和空气层的菲涅耳反射,使得偏离或者远离共振区时的反射率偏高,根据等效介质理论,亚波长光栅在远离共振区可以被看为均匀的薄膜,本文通过对导模共振光栅进行单层、双层以及三层抗反射设计,有效的降低了导模共振光栅的旁带反射率,从而在可见光波段获得了性能优良的共振滤波 关键词: 导模共振 平面波导 傅里叶模式理论 窄带滤波  相似文献

We report a design and electroluminescence (EL) investigation of a p-i-n resonant tunneling device based on an Al0.4Ga0.6As/GaAs graded-index waveguide heterostructure. The intrinsic region of the structure consists of a quantum well (QW) surrounded by multiple barrier energy filters providing simultaneous resonant occupation of electron and heavy-hole second excited subbands in the QW. Several peaks are observed in the EL spectra, confirming occupation of the excited subbands. The EL efficiency displays a resonant behavior accompanied by an S-shaped negative differential resistance region in the voltage–current characteristic. Current bistability is demonstrated, leading to bistability in the EL and laser generation spectra.  相似文献
