By using the B-spline expansion technique and a model potential of the alkali atoms, the properties of frequency- modulated excitation of Rydberg potassium atoms in a static electric field and a microwave field are investigated by using the time-dependent two-level approach. We successfully reproduce the square wave oscillations in the low frequency, the stair step population oscillations in the intermediate frequency, and the multiphoton transitions in the high frequency with respect to the unmodulated Rabi frequency, which have been observed experimentally by Noel et al. [Phys. Rev. A 58 2265 (1998)]. Furthermore, we also numerically obtain the discretized Rabi oscillations predicted in the Landau-Zener accumulation model. 相似文献

The B-spline expansion technique and the time-dependent multilevel approach (TDMA) are used to study the interaction between microwave field and sodium atoms. The Rydberg sodium atom energy levels of p states in zero field are calculated, and the results are in good agreement with the other theoretical ones. The time evolutions during the population transfers of the five states from n=75 to n=79 in different microwave fields are obtained. The results show that the coherent control of the population transfer from the lower states to the higher ones can be accomplished by optimizing the microwave pulse parameters. 相似文献

High-order harmonic generation (HHG) of a helium model atom in an intense laser field has been numerically investigated. The influence of electron correlation on HHG is analysed by changing the strength between the electrons. The numerical results show that as the electron interaction strength becomes small, the first ionization energy increases rapidly, which results in the decrease in ionization. So the conversion efficiency of the high harmonic lying in the plateau decreases greatly, while the cutoff harmonic order in the harmonic spectrum increases. 相似文献

This work addresses the difficulties in the measurements of the nonlinear medium parameter B/A and presents a modification of the finite amplitude method (FAM), one of the accepted procedures to determine this parameter. The modification is based on iterative, hybrid approach and entails the use of the versatile and comprehensive model to predict distortion of the pressure–time waveform and its subsequent comparison with the one experimentally determined. The measured p–t waveform contained at least 18 harmonics generated by 2.25 MHz, 29 mm effective diameter, single element, focused PZT source (f-number 3.5) and was recorded by Sonora membrane hydrophone calibrated in the frequency range 1–40 MHz. The hydrophone was positioned coaxially at the distal end of the specially designed, two-section assembly comprising of one, fixed length (60 mm), water-filled cylindrical container and the second, variable length (60–120 mm) container that was filled with unknown medium. The details of the measurement chamber are described and the reasons for this specific design are analyzed. The data were collected with the variable length chamber filled with 1.3-butanediol, which was used as a close approximation of tissue mimicking phantom. The results obtained provide evidence that a novel combination of the FAM with the semi-empirical nonlinear propagation model based on the hyperbolic operator is capable of reducing the overall uncertainty of the B/A measurements as compared to those reported in the literature. The overall uncertainty of the method reported here was determined to be ±2%, which enhances the confidence in the numerical values of B/A measured for different, clinically relevant media. Optimization of the approach is also discussed and it is shown that it involves an iterative procedure that entails a careful selection of the acoustic source and its geometry and the axial distance over which the measurements need to be performed. The optimization also depends critically on the experimental determination of the source surface pressure amplitude. 相似文献

Information on paths in absorption and deactivation of energy gained by molecules in their excitation by electron impact to
low-lying singlet states has been obtained from an analysis of changes in the fluorescence spectra of these molecules. It
is shown that there is a significant difference in the formation of fluorescence spectra when free molecules are excited by
optical radiation and by electrons. It contrast to optical excitation, the interaction of an electron with a molecule is nonselective
in character. All electronic states have a chance to be excited, which results in ensembles of emitting molecules with a different
store of vibrational energy, and these ensembles each contribute to the fluorescence spectrum.

Shimming is important. Noniterative methods are desirable. Such methods exist for shimming a spectrometer with pulsed field gradients, generally based on field maps made by spin-warp Fourier imaging. For spectrometers with no pulsed gradients (or for cases whereT2is too short to permit echo imaging), an alternative method is presented: projection-reconstruction spectroscopic imaging, which can be accomplished using only the shim coils of a conventional spectrometer. Images so acquired can be used to map the field, even in the presence of multiple spectral components. Noniterative optimization of the axial shims of a GN-300 spectrometer is demonstrated using 1D + 1D spectroscopic images. Prospects for extending the technique to include the radial shims using 3D + 1D spectroscopic images are discussed. 相似文献

We propose two schemes for the generation of the Wn state with three atoms separately trapped in two distant cavities coupled by an optical fibre.One is implemented by controlling the interaction time,the other is implemented via the adiabatic passage.The influence of various decoherence processes,such as spontaneous emission of the atoms and photon leakages of the cavities and the optical fibre,on the fidelity is also investigated.It is found that the Wn state can be generated with high fidelity even when these decoherence processes are present. 相似文献
