Iodocyclization of N,N-dialkylamino-2-methyl-4-penten-2-ol oxides

It is shown that in the iodination of N,N-dialkylamino-2-methyl-4-penten-2-ol and N,N-diethylamino-3-butene oxides the N-oxide group participates in the intramolecular cyclization of these compounds. N,N-Dialkyl-4-methyl-4-hydroxy-6-iodomethyltetrahydro-1,2-oxazine iodides were obtained by iodination of the former, whereas the latter under similar conditions gives N,N-diethyl-5-iodomethyltetrahydro-1,2-oxazolinium iodide.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 10, pp. 1340–1343, October, 1976.     

Reaction of 2-aminopyrimidines with phosphorus pentachloride

A study has been made of the reaction of phosphorus pentachloride in boiling benzene with 2-aminopyrimidines substituted at positions 4, 5, and 6. It was found that, depending on the basicity of the starting amine, reaction led to formation of phosphazo- compounds, or tetrachlorophosphopyrimidines. The formation of these compounds was confirmed by conversion of the latter into pyrimidyl-2-amidophosphoric dichloroanhydrides.     

Concerning the products obtained from the condensation of 4-methyl-4-penten-2-ol with benzaldehyde

The products formed in the condensation reaction of4-methyl-4-penten-2-ol with benzaldehyde were reinvcstigated. Their constitutions and configurations were determined spectroscopically. For further characterisation, the three olefins 8–10 were epoxidised.     

Synthesis and reactions of (E)-1,1,1-trifluoro-2-methyl-2-penten-4-ylidene-malonodinitrile

Condensation of (E)-1,1,1-trifluoro-2-methyl-2-penten-4-one with malonodinitrile affords mixtures of unsaturated nitriles. Attempted cyclization of these nitriles in concentrated sulfuric acid furnishes derivatives of alkylidenecyanoacetamides and alkylidenemalonodiamide.     

Synthesis of 1,1,1 - trifluoro-2-penten-4-one

The 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-penten-4-one has been prepared from trifluoroacetaldehyde by two different ways. Its condensation with a cyclohexanone enamine leads, by annelation, to 4-trifluoromethyl-Δ-1,9 (and Δ-9,10)-octalin- 2-one.     

Reaction of 2-methyl-3,5-heptadiyn-2-ol with glycols

Conclusions The reaction of 2-methyl-3,5-heptadiyn-2-ol with-glycols in the presence of alkaline catalysts results in the formation of 1,3-dioxolanes, while-glycols give ethynylvinyl ethers which contain a hydroxyl group in the alkoxy residue.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 3, pp. 586–588, March, 1972.     

An improved synthesis of 1,1,1-trichloro-2-methyl-2-propanol (chlorobutanol)

Varying reaction time, temperature, and the amount of catalyst and reactants the synthesis of chlorobutanol from chloroform and acetone with KOH as catalyst is optimized to 71% yield.

Asymmetric triazines—XIII Reaction of phosphorus pentachloride with 4-nitrosopyrazoles

The reaction of phosphorus pentachloride with some 3:5-disubstituted-4-nitrosopyrazoles (dimethyl, diphenyl, methyl phenyl and phenyl carbomethoxy) has been investigated. Formation of a new class of compounds, 1-chloro-4-cyano-2:3-diazabuta-1:3-dienes, is described. By treatment with ammonia and subsequent alkali-induced cyclisation these substances are converted into 5-amino-as-triazines and reactions of the latter have been investigated.     

Reaction of Grignard Compounds with 4-Chloro-2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol in Diethyl Ether Equivalents

Reactions of RMgX·THF complexes with 4-chloro-2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol in aromatic hydrocarbons were studied. The complexes formed by arylmagnesium halides require the presence of anisole for the reaction to occur. 4-Chloro-2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol can be synthesized by reaction of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol with sodium hypochloride in the two-phase system water-benzene.     

Homolytic isomerization of 1,1,1-trichloro-2-bromopropene

Summary 1,1,1-Trichloro-2-bromopropene isomerizes by a homolytic route under the action of ultraviolet light and forms 1,1,2-trichloro-3-bromopropene as well as by the heterolytic route under the action of antimony pentachloride with formation of 1,1,3-trichloro-2-bromopropene.     

Reactions of 2-aminopyridines with phosphorus pentachloride

The reaction of 2-aminopyridines with PCl₅ proceeds with the formation of 2-trichlorophosphazopyridines, which when treated with morpholine are converted to 2-dimorpholidochlorophosphazopyridines. By heating these last products with 96% ethanol, dimorpholido pyridyl-2-amidophosphoric acids are obtained.     

Synthesis and crystal structure of 4,4′(1,2-ethanediyldiimino)bis(1,1,1-trichloro-3-penten-2-one)

The preparation, characterization and crystal structure of theSchiff base obtained from 1,1,1-trichloroacetylacetone and ethylenediamine is reported. The structural determination shows that the compound is 4,4(1,1-ethanediyldiimino)bis(1,1,1-trichloro-3-penten-2-one), it suggests that the electron accepting ability of the CCl₃ group induces a larger + charge on the remote carbonyl. In the solid state it occurs in two different conformations and N-H ----O hydrogen bond is present.

Synthese und Kristallstruktur von 4,4(1,2-Ethandiyldiimino)bis(1,1,1-Trichlor-3-penten-2-on)

Zusammenfassung Es wird über die Darstellung, Charakterisierung und Kristallstruktur derSchiff-Base berichtet, die aus 1,1,1-Trichloracetylaceton und Ethylendiamin erhalten wurde. Die Röntgenstrukturanalyse zeigte, daß es sich um 4,4(1,1-Ethandiyldiimino)bis(1,1,1-trichlor-3-penten-2-on) handelt. Dies impliziert, daß die Elektronacceptorfähgkeit der CCl₃-Gruppe eine größere Partialladung + im entfernteren Carbonyl induziert. Die Verbindung besitzt im Kristall zwei verschiedene Konformationen. Es wurde eine N-H----O-Wasserstoff-brückenbinding festgestellt.
