Emphasizing the physical constraints on the formulation of the quantum theory, based on the standard measurement axiom and the Schrödinger equation, we comment on some conceptual issues arising in the formulation of the $\mathcal{P}\mathcal{T}$ -symmetric quantum mechanics. In particular, we elaborate on the requirements of the boundedness of the metric operator and the diagonalizability of the Hamiltonian. We also provide an accessible account of a Krein-space derivation of the $\mathcal{C}\mathcal{P}\mathcal{T}$ -inner product, that was widely known to mathematicians since 1950’s. We show how this derivation is linked with the pseudo-Hermitian formulation of the $\mathcal{P}\mathcal{T}$ -symmetric quantum mechanics.  相似文献

The basic operator ordering regarding to coordinate-momentum operator is discussed by virtue of the technique of integration within $\mathfrak{Q}$ -ordering (all Q are on the left of all P) and $\mathfrak{P}$ -ordering (all P are on the left of all Q). We derive new operator-ordering identities about $\mathfrak{Q}$ -ordering , $\mathfrak{P}$ -ordering and Weyl-ordering of both single-mode and two-mode squeezing operators. Its application in combinatorics is pointed out.  相似文献

$\hbox {In}_{2}\hbox {S}_{3}$ thin films have been elaborated onto glass substrate by SILAR method at room temperature using different immersion time in the solution of cation and anion and fixing the rinsing time. The film composition, morphology and structure were investigated using energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction techniques. Optical properties, such transmission and band gap have been also analyzed. The effects of annealing on the morphological structure thin films are also described. The x-rays diffraction spectra indicated that the formed compounds are $\upbeta $ - $\hbox {In}_{2}\hbox {S}_{3}$ polycrystalline thin films with $\hbox {In}_{6}\hbox {S}_{7 }$ as second phase in sample S1 and sample S2 and no another phase in sample 3. SEM revealed homogeneous and relatively uniform films and EDAX shows sample 3 with S/In=1.44. For sample 1 and sample 2, we noted an increase of band gap when rinsing time increases.  相似文献

The main achievements of Pseudo-Hermitian Quantum Mechanics and its distinction from the indefinite-metric quantum theories are reviewed. The issue of the non-uniqueness of the metric operator and its consequences for defining the observables are discussed. A systematic perturbative expression for the most general metric operator is offered and its application for a toy model is outlined. The study of magnetic field effects on the clock transition of Mg and Cd optical lattice clocks is scarce. In this work, the hyperfine-induced Landé $g$-factors and quadratic Zeeman shift coefficients of the ${n{\rm s}n{\rm p}}$ $^3P^{\rm o}_0$ clock states for $^{111,113}$Cd and $^{25}$Mg were calculated by using the multi-configuration Dirac-Hartree-Fock theory. To obtain accurate values of these parameters, the impact of electron correlations and furthermore the Breit interaction and quantum electrodynamical effects on the Zeeman and hyperfine interaction matrix elements, and energy separations were investigated in detail. We also estimated the contributions from perturbing states to the Landé $g$-factors and quadratic Zeeman shift coefficients concerned so as to truncate the summation over the perturbing states without loss of accuracy. Our calculations provide important data for estimating the first- and second-order Zeeman shifts of the clock transition for the Cd and Mg optical lattice clocks.  相似文献

We have observed the photoassociative spectra of colliding ultracold 39K and 85Rb atoms to produce KRb* in all eight bound electronic states correlating with the 39K (4s) + 85Rb(5p 1/2 and 5p 3/2) asymptotes. These electronically excited KRb* ultracold molecules are detected after their radiative decay to the metastable triplet (a state and (in some cases) the singlet (X ground state. The triplet (a ultracold molecules are detected by two-photon ionization at 602.5 nm to form KRb + , followed by time-of-flight mass spectroscopy. We are able to assign a majority of the spectrum to three states (2(0 + ), 2(0-), 2(1)) in a lower triad of states with similar C 6 values correlating to the K(4s) + Rb (5p 1/2) asymptote; and to five states in an upper triad of three states (3(0 + ), 3(0-), 3(1)) and a dyad of two states (4(1), 1(2)), with one set of similar C 6 values within the upper triad and a different set of similar C 6 values within the dyad. We are also able to make connection with the short-range spectra of Kasahara et al. [J. Chem. Phys. 111, 8857 (1999)], identifying three of our levels as v = 61, 62 and 63 of the 1 4(1) state they observed. We also argue that ultracold photoassociation to levels between the K(4s) + Rb (5p 3/2) and K(4s) + Rb (5p 1/2) asymptotes may be weakly or strongly predissociated and therefore difficult to observe by ionization of a (or X molecules; we do know from Kasahara et al. that levels of the 1 4(1) and 2 5(1) states in the intra-asymptote region are predissociated. We study the complex Berry phases in non-Hermitian systems with parity- and time-reversal $\left({ \mathcal P }{ \mathcal T }\right)$ symmetry. We investigate a kind of two-level system with ${ \mathcal P }{ \mathcal T }$ symmetry. We find that the real part of the the complex Berry phases have two quantized values and they are equal to either 0 or π, which originates from the topology of the Hermitian eigenstates. We also find that if we change the relative parameters of the Hamiltonian from the unbroken-${ \mathcal P }{ \mathcal T }$-symmetry phase to the broken-${ \mathcal P }{ \mathcal T }$-symmetry phase, the imaginary part of the complex Berry phases are divergent at the exceptional points. We exhibit two concrete examples in this work, one is a two-level toys model, which has nontrivial Berry phases; the other is the generalized Su–Schrieffer–Heeger (SSH) model that has physical loss and gain in every sublattice. Our results explicitly demonstrate the relation between complex Berry phases, topology and ${ \mathcal P }{ \mathcal T }$-symmetry breaking and enrich the field of the non-Hermitian physics.  相似文献

Using the method of laser-induced fluorescence in an atomic beam we have measured the hyperfine splitting constants, A and B, of the ground and excited states of the optical transition 4f 76s 2 8S $_{1/2}\to 4f^{7}$ 6s6p 6P5/2 (564.58 nm) for 151???155Eu isotopes. For all isotopes, the magnetic dipole constants of the 6P5/2 atomic level are determined to a precision better than 0.04%. The A and B constants for the ground state 8S7/2 of the radioactive 152,154,155Eu were obtained for the first time with a precision better than 0.5%. Our data along with previous ground state hyperfine structure measurements for the stable europium isotopes allow us to determine the hyperfine anomaly for mentioned Eu isotopes.  相似文献

In a quantum harmonic oscillator (QHO), the energy of the oscillator increases with increased frequency. In this paper, assuming a boundary condition that the product of momentum and position, or the product of energy density and position remains constant in the QHO, it is established that a particle subjected to increasing frequencies becomes gradually subtler to transform into a very high dormant potential energy. This very high dormant potential energy is referred to as ‘like-potential’ energy in this paper. In the process a new wave function is generated. This new function, which corresponds to new sets of particles, has scope to raise the quantum oscillator energy (QOE) up to infinity. It is proposed to show that this high energy does not get cancelled but remains dormant. Further, it is proposed that the displacement about the equilibrium goes to zero when the vibration of the oscillator stops and then the QOE becomes infinity – this needs further research. The more the QOE, the greater will be the degree of dormancy. A simple mathematical model has been derived here to discuss the possibilities that are involved in the QHO under the above-mentioned boundary conditions.  相似文献

We provide the energy spectrum of an electron in a degenerately doped semiconductor of parabolic band. Knowing the energy spectrum, the density-of-states (DOS) functions are obtained, considering the Gaussian distribution of the potential energy of the impurity states, showing a band tail in them e.g., energy spectrum and density-of-states. Therefore, Fermi integrals (FIs) of DOS functions, having band tail, are developed by the exact theoretical calculations of the same. It is noticed that with heavy dopings in semiconductors, the total FI demonstrates complex functions, containing both real and imaginary terms of different FI functions. Their moduli possess an oscillatory function of \(\eta \) (reduced \(\hbox {Fermi energy} = E_{\mathrm{f}}/k_{\mathrm{B}}T\), \(k_{\mathrm{B}}\) is the Boltzmann constant and T is the absolute temperature) and \(\eta _{e}\) (impurity screening potential), having a series solutions of confluent hypergeometric functions, \(\Phi (a, b; z)\), superimposed with natural cosine functions of angle \(\theta \). The variation of \(\theta \) with respect to \(\eta \) indicated a resonance at \(\eta =1.5\). The oscillatory behaviour of FIs show the existence of ‘band-gaps’, both in the real as well as in the forbidden bands as new band gaps in the semiconductor.  相似文献

We report a comprehensive angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy study of the tridimensional electronic bands in the recently discovered Fe selenide superconductor (Tl,Rb)_{y}Fe_{2-x}Se_{2} (T_{c}=32 K). We determined the orbital characters and the k_{z} dependence of the low energy electronic structure by tuning the polarization and the energy of the incident photons. We observed a small 3D electron Fermi surface pocket near the Brillouin zone center and a 2D like electron Fermi surface pocket near the zone boundary. The photon energy dependence, the polarization analysis and the local-density approximation calculations suggest a significant contribution from the Se 4p_{z} and Fe 3d_{xy} orbitals to the small electron pocket. We argue that the emergence of Se 4p_{z} states might be the cause of the different magnetic properties between Fe chalcogenides and Fe pnictides.  相似文献

The Scarf I and Scarf II potentials are discussed within a common mathematical framework, which is then specified to handle the two potentials separately both in the conventional Hermitian and in the -symmetric setting. The physically admissible solutions are identified in each case together with the corresponding energy eigenvalues. Several main differences between the -symmetric Scarf I and II potentials are pointed out. These include the presence and absence of the quasi-parity quantum number, the sign of the pseudo-norm, the mechanism of the spontaneous breakdown of symmetry and the non- orthogonality of otherwise admissible solutions in the Scarf I potential. Similarities and differences with respect to the corresponding Hermitian systems are also pointed out.  相似文献

We consider applications of polynomial Lie algebras $\hat E_{R_1 }^\mathcal{P} (u(n);(m))$ , which are extensions of the unitary Lie algebras u(n) by their symmetric tensors vm of mth rank, to examine a class of nonlinear models of quantum optics and laser physics. Particular attention is paid to examining integrability of evolution equations arising from the Heisenberg equations for collective (cluster) dynamic variables related to the $\hat E_{R_1 }^\mathcal{P} (u(2);(2))$ generators. This allows one to examine some peculiarities of cluster dynamics of models incorporating second-harmonic generation together with interference phenomena. Full integrability of such equations at the quantum and quasiclassical levels is shown to be possible for particular values of the model parameters. In general, these equations are integrable only in the quasiclassical (cluster mean-field) approximation. They do not admit a full separation of variables and consequently correspond to very irregular dynamic regimes.  相似文献
