The purpose of this contribution is to give sufficient conditions for the existence of global solutions or left semi-global solutions for some classes of delayed functional differential equations. The topological approach known as the topological retract principle is used. Inequalities for coordinates of global solutions are derived as a consequence of used method. In this paper we consider the asymptotic stability of a generalized linear neutral differential equation with variable delays by using the fixed point theory. An asymptotic stability theorem with a necessary and sufficient condition is proved, which improves and generalizes some results due to Burton (2003) [3], Zhang (2005) [14], Raffoul (2004) [13], and Jin and Luo (2008) [12]. We study the existence and branching patterns of wave trains in a two-dimensional lattice with linear and nonlinear coupling between nearest particles and a nonlinear substrate potential. The wave train equation of the corresponding discrete nonlinear equation is formulated as an advanced-delay differential equation which is reduced by a Lyapunov–Schmidt reduction to a finite-dimensional bifurcation equation with certain symmetries and an inherited Hamiltonian structure. By means of invariant theory and singularity theory, we obtain the small amplitude solutions in the Hamiltonian system near equilibria in non-resonance and p:qp:q resonance, respectively. We show the impact of the direction θ of propagation and obtain the existence and branching patterns of wave trains in a one-dimensional lattice by investigating the existence of traveling waves of the original two-dimensional lattice in the direction θ of propagation satisfying tan θ is rational.  相似文献

This paper studies the moment boundedness of solutions of linear stochastic delay differential equations with distributed delay. For a linear stochastic delay differential equation, the first moment stability is known to be identical to that of the corresponding deterministic delay differential equation. However, boundedness of the second moment is complicated and depends on the stochastic terms. In this paper, the characteristic function of the equation is obtained through techniques of the Laplace transform. From the characteristic equation, sufficient conditions for the second moment to be bounded or unbounded are proposed.  相似文献

This work deals with a scalar nonlinear neutral delay differential equation issued from the study of wave propagation. A critical value of the coefficients is considered, where only few results are known. The difficulty follows from the fact that the spectrum of the linear operator is asymptotically closed to the imaginary axis. An analysis based on the energy method provides new results about the asymptotic stability of constant and periodic solutions. A complete analysis of the stability diagram is given in the linear homogeneous case. Under periodic forcing, existence of periodic solutions is discussed, involving a Diophantine condition on the period of the source.  相似文献

We study a differential equation for delayed negative feedback which models a situation where the delay depends on the present state and becomes effective in the future. The main result is existence of a periodic solution in case the equilibrium is linearly unstable. The proof employs the ejective fixed point principle on a compact convex set K0C([−h,0],R) of Lipschitz continuous functions and uses that the equation generates a smooth semiflow on an infinite-dimensional submanifold of the space C1([−h,0],R).  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a generalization of a functional differential equation known as the pantograph equation which contains a linear functional argument. In this paper, we introduce a numerical method based on the Taylor polynomials for the approximate solution of the pantograph equation with retarded case or advanced case.
