In this paper, we demonstrate a simple and general "dispersion-decomposition" approach to the synthesis of metal sulfide nanocrystals with the assistance of alkylthiol. This is a direct heating process without precursor injection. By using inorganic metal salts and alkylthiol as the raw materials, high-quality Ag(2)S, Cu(2)S, PbS, Ni(3)S(4), CdS, and ZnS nanocrystals were successfully synthesized. The mechanism study shows that the reaction undergoes two steps. A key intermediate compound, metal thiolate, is generated first. It melts and disperses into the solvent at a relatively low temperature, and then it decomposes into metal sulfide as a single precursor upon heating. This method avoids using toxic phosphine agent and injection during the reaction process. The size and shape of the nanocrystal can be also controlled by the concentration of the reactant and ligands. Furthermore, the optical properties and assembly of the nanocrystals have also been studied. This report provides a facile, direct-heating "dispersion-decomposition" approach to synthesize metal sulfides nanocrystals that has potential for future large-scale synthesis.  相似文献

High-quality PbS nanocrystals were produced in multigram-scale quantities through a solventless, heterogeneous, and relatively green route. The heterogeneous nature of this reaction allows one to limit the diffusion in the system, allowing for unprecedented monodispersity and quality of the product demonstrated by a full-width at half-maximum of the photoluminescence peak (PL fwhm) as low as 52 meV, a Stokes shift as low as 10 meV, and a quantum yield (QY) of 40%. The growth of the nanocrystals is interpreted in the framework of a diffusion-controlled Ostwald growth in conditions of strong supersaturation.  相似文献

Using achiral coordinatively unsaturated metal complex building-blocks, the two step synthesis of a bimetallic complex containing independent [Ru(II)dppz] units tethered together by a linking 4,4'dipyridyl-1,5-pentane ligand is reported. Photophysical studies on this prototype system indicate that the characteristic luminescence of the [Ru(II)dppz] moieties is perturbed by self-quenching processes. Preliminary binding studies on the complex with natural and synthetic duplex DNA is reported. Luminescence and calorimetric titrations reveal that the complex does not show enhanced binding affinity with respect to analogous monometallic complexes. This result is interpreted by a consideration of the length and rigidity of the linker employed in the complex.  相似文献

Various cyclopentenones are obtained in fair to high yields when ethylenic acyl bromides are condensed with cyclohexene at low temperature. A new two-phase route has been developed to synthesize high-quality CdS nanocrystals with a narrow size distribution and a high photoluminescence (PL) quantum yield (QY). In the two-phase system, toluene and water were used as separate solvents for cadmium myristate (CdM2) and thiourea, which served as cadmium source and sulfur source, respectively, and oleic acid (OA) was used as a ligand for stabilizing the nanocrystals. The reactions were completed in the heated autoclaves. The initial Cd/S molar ratio of the precursors and the reaction temperature were found to be factors that affected the growth of nanocrystals. Furthermore, a seeding-growth technique was developed to synthesize CdS nanocrystals of different sizes, which exhibit PL peaks with quite similar full width at half-maximum (FWHM) values compared to those of the initial nanocrystal seeds in all cases.  相似文献

Much progress has been made over the past ten years on the synthesis of monodisperse spherical nanocrystals. Mechanistic studies have shown that monodisperse nanocrystals are produced when the burst of nucleation that enables separation of the nucleation and growth processes is combined with the subsequent diffusion-controlled growth process through which the crystal size is determined. Several chemical methods have been used to synthesize uniform nanocrystals of metals, metal oxides, and metal chalcogenides. Monodisperse nanocrystals of CdSe, Co, and other materials have been generated in surfactant solution by nucleation induced at high temperature, and subsequent aging and size selection. Monodisperse nanocrystals of many metals and metal oxides, including magnetic ferrites, have been synthesized directly by thermal decomposition of metal-surfactant complexes prepared from the metal precursors and surfactants. Nonhydrolytic sol-gel reactions have been used to synthesize various transition-metal-oxide nanocrystals. Monodisperse gold nanocrystals have been obtained from polydisperse samples by digestive-ripening processes. Uniform-sized nanocrystals of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium have been synthesized by polyol processes in which metal salts are reduced by alcohols in the presence of appropriate surfactants.  相似文献

A series of M(x) Fe(3-x) O(4) (M=Fe, Co, Ni, Zn; 0≤x≤1) ferrite nanocrystals stabilized by ionic-liquid molecules have been successfully synthesized through a thermal decomposition route. Instead of the widely used long-chain lipid surfactants and high-boiling solvents, the ionic-liquid molecules not only played the role of surfactants, but also served as reaction and dispersion media simultaneously in the preparation of ferrite nanocrystals. Due to their good fluidity under magnetic fields and high ionic conductivity, the ionic-liquid molecules and M(x) Fe(3-x) O(4) ferrite nanocrystal-based conducting ferrofluids were successfully used as electrolytes in an AC circuit. The open or closed state of the circuit was directly controlled by moving a permanent magnet so as to tune the position of the ferrofluids, and consequently, resulted in the "off" or "on" state of the four indicative yellow-light-emitting diodes. These results demonstrate that the conducting ferrofluids successfully play the role of "magnetic switch".  相似文献

The determination of the actual electrode surface temperature is important for all electrochemical methods using in situ heating of electrodes. Existing methods of temperature measurement of a heated thin-wire electrode are of restricted use and critically discussed in the introduction. The use of the electrode wire itself as a resistive thermometer is improved in the present method. With the new thermoelectrochemical method temperature pulse voltammetry, the reliability of different thermometric methods can be compared. In this way, it is ensured to have correct temperature measurements at wire microelectrodes in all common solvents available.  相似文献
