Within the framework of the piecewise homogeneous body model with utilization of the three-dimensional linearized theory of elastic waves in initially stressed bodies, the mathematical modeling of the torsional wave propagation in the initially stressed infinite body containing an initially stressed circular solid cylinder (case 1) and circular hollow cylinder (case 2) are proposed. In these cases, it has been assumed that in the constituents of the considered systems there exist only the normal homogeneous tensional or compressional initial stress acting along the cylinder, i.e. in the direction of wave propagation. In the case where the mentioned initial stresses are not present, the proposed mathematical modeling coincides with that proposed and investigated by other authors within the classical linear theory of elastic waves. The mechanical properties of the cylinder and surrounding infinite medium have been described by the Murnaghan potential. The numerical results related to the torsional wave dispersion and the influence of the mentioned initial stresses on this dispersion are presented and discussed.  相似文献

The dynamic electromechanical behavior of a triple-layer piezoelectric composite cylinder with imperfect interfaces is investigated. The composite cylinder is constructed by two elastic layers and an embedded piezoelectric layer. A linear spring model is adopted to describe the weakness of imperfect interface. The exact analysis is performed by the state space method and normal mode expansion method. The determining procedure for the eigenfunction and the proof of the orthogonal property of the eigenfunction is presented for an imperfectly bonded triple-layer piezoelectric composite cylinder. The obtained solution is valid for analyzing the dynamic electromechanical behavior of composite cylinder with arbitrary thickness for both elastic and piezoelectric layers. Numerical results show that the weakness of imperfect interface has significant effect on the transient electromechanical responses of piezoelectric composite cylinder.  相似文献

The scattering of sound waves by an isotropic elastic circular cylinder of infinite extent in a water of finite depth is investigated taking into account the shear waves that can exist in addition to compressional waves in scatterers of solid material. The axis of the cylinder is parallel to the water level. The reflected and transmitted energies are plotted for the various values of the radius of the cylinder, and the farfield scattered pressure is obtained for various depth and presented in a graphical form. The existence of travelling wave solutions for the heat equation ∂t u –Δu = 0 in an infinite cylinder subject to the nonlinear Neumann boundary condition (∂u /∂n) = f (u) is investigated. We show existence of nontrivial solutions for a large class of nonlinearities f. Additionally, the asymptotic behavior at ∞ is studied and regularity properties are established. We use a variational approach in exponentially weighted Sobolev spaces. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

In the present paper, the dispersion equation which determines the velocity of torsional surface waves in a homogeneous layer of finite thickness over an initially stressed heterogeneous half-space has been obtained. The dispersion equation obtained is in agreement with the classical result of Love wave when the initial stresses and inhomogeneity parameters are neglected. Numerical results analyzing the dispersion equation are discussed and presented graphically. The result shows that the initial stresses have a pronounced influence on the propagation of torsional surface waves. It has also been shown that the effect of density, directional rigidities and non-homogeneity parameter on the propagation of torsional surface waves is prominent.  相似文献

The propagation of torsional waves in a prestressed compound (bi-layered) hollow circular cylinder is in vestigated within the frame work of a piecewise homogeneous body model, with the use of a three-dimensional linerized theory of elastic waves in initially stressed bodies. The elasticity relations for components of the compound cylinder are obtained from the Murnaghan potential. Numerical investigations are performed for bronze and steel. According to the results obtained, the effect of variations in the geometric (the ratio between the thickness of the cylinder and its inner radius) and mechanical parameters on the dispersion curves are analyzed. We seek to optimally control a reflection boundary coefficient for an acoustic wave equation. The goal-quantified by an objective functional- is to drive the solution close to a target by adjusting this coefficient, which acts as a control. The problem is solved by finding the optimal control, which minimizes the objective functional. Then the optimal control is used as a an approximation for an inverse “ identification” problem.  相似文献

The paper presents a study of propagation of shear wave (SH‐wave) in an orthotropic elastic medium under initial stress sandwiched by a homogeneous semi‐infinite medium and an inhomogeneous half‐space. The technique of separation of variables has been adopted to get the analytical solutions for the dispersion relation in a closed form. The propagation of SH‐waves is influenced by inhomogeneity parameters and initial stress parameter. Velocities of SH‐waves are calculated numerically for different cases. As a special case when the intermediate layer and half‐space are homogeneous, computed frequency equation coincides with general equation of Love wave. To study the effect of inhomogeneity parameters and initial stress parameter, we have plotted the velocity of SH‐wave in several figures and observed that the velocity of wave decreases with the increases of non‐dimensional wave number. It can be found that the phase velocity decreases with the increase of inhomogeneity parameters. We observed that the velocity of SH‐wave decreases with the increases of initial stress parameter in both homogeneous and inhomogeneous media. GUI has been developed by using MATLAB to generalize the effect of the parameters discussed. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the study of the behavior of the following mixed problem for large values of time:
where Ω is an unbounded region of ℝ n with, generally speaking, noncompact boundary ; the surface Γ is star-shaped (relative to the origin), ν is the unit outer normal to ∂Ω; and the initial functionsf andg are assumed to be sufficiently smooth and finite. Under certain restrictions on the part of the boundary Γ2 constrained by the impedance condition, we establish that one can match the impedanceg≥0 (characterizing the absorption of energy by the surface Γ2) to the geometric properties of this surface so that the energy on an arbitrary compact set will decay at a rate characteristic for the first mixed problem.
