The adsorption isotherms of MCl(2) (M Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn and Cd) and FeCl(3) by silica gel chemically modified with benzimidazole molecules ( Si(CH(2))(3)NC(7)H(5)N) were studied in ethanol solution at 298 K. A column made of modified silica was used to adsorb and preconcentrate the above metal ions from ethanol solution. Elution was done with 0.1 M hydrochloric acid in an ethanol/water mixture having a mole fraction of water of 0.8. The material was applied in the preconcentration of metal ions from commercial ethanol normally used as engine fuel.  相似文献

Silica gel functionalized by reaction with γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane was prepared and its adsorption characteirstics for metal ions were studied. This material selectively removes the Au(III), Pt(IV) and Pd(II) chloro complex ions from sample solutions containing Fe(III) and Cu(II) ions by ion exchange.  相似文献

In this study, a syringe was filled with silica gel loaded with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, for the separation and preconcentration of copper, cadmium and chromium prior to their determination by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) in seawater. For this purpose, a syringe was filled with 0.5 g of modified silica gel and the sample solution was drawn into the syringe and ejected back again. The analyte elements were quantitatively retained at pH 5. Then, the elements sorbed by the silica gel were eluted with 2.0 M of HCl and determined by GFAAS. At optimum conditions, the recovery of Cu, Cd and Cr were 96-98%. Detection limits (3delta) were 6.6, 7.5 and 6.0 micro g L(-1) for Cu, Cd and Cr, respectively. The elements could be concentrated by drawing and discharging several portions of sample successively but eluting only once. Cu, Cd and Cr added to a seawater sample were quantitatively recovered (>95%) in the range of the 95% confidence level. The method proposed in this paper was compared with a column technique. Optimum experimental conditions, reproducibility, precision and recoveries of both techniques are the same, but the syringe technique is much faster, easier and more practical than the column technique. It is a portable system and allows one to make the sorption process in the source of sample. In addition, the risk of contamination is less than in the column technique.  相似文献

Trace metals in water were preconcentrated with silica gel modified with salicylaldoxime and determined by AAS. Optimum conditions for the maximum recovery of metal ions, viz. Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II) and Fe(III), for both batch and column methods were developed. The efficiency of the adsorbent with respect to different experimental conditions was established.  相似文献

The herbicide 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), chemically anchored to a silica gel surface, was used to adsorb and preconcentrate the same herbicide from aqueous solutions at room temperature. From a series of adsorption isotherms adjusted to a modified Langmuir equation, the maximum number of moles adsorbed was calculated as 4.67 x 10(-5) mol g(-1), with the highest retention capacity at pH 5. This modified silica gel was used in a column for preconcentrating trace levels of 2,4-D. The preconcentrated herbicide can be directly eluted with methanol with a recovery efficiency higher than 97%. The concentration factor was 8.33.  相似文献

The applicability of silica gels for the application in solid-phase extraction was tested. Silica was modified with ketoimine groups. Surface characteristics of the modified silica were determined by elemental analysis, NMR spectra of solid phases (29Si CP MAS NMR), analysis of pore size distribution of the silica support, and nitrogen adsorption-desorption. Newly proposed sorbents with ketoimine groups were applied in the preconcentration of trace amounts of the Cu (II) ions from lake water, post-industrial water, and demineralized water unburdened back to the lake. An analytical method using silica gel chemically modified with zirconium (IV) phosphate for preconcentration of lead and copper, in a column system, and their sequential determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS), was developed. Sample solutions are passed through a glass column packed with 100 mg of the sorbent material, at pH 4.5, and lead and copper are eluted with 1.0 mol l−1 HNO3 at a flow rate of 2.0 ml min−1. The extraction of copper is affected by Fe(II), Mn(II), Zn(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) while only Fe(II) interferes in the lead determination. These interferences may be overcome with an appropriate addition of a KI or NaF solution. An enrichment factor of 30 was obtained for both metals. While the limits of detection (3σ) were 6.1 and 1.1 μg l−1, for Pb and Cu, respectively, the limits of determination were 16.7 and 3.3 μg l−1. The precision expressed as relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) obtained for 3.3 μg l−1 of Cu and 16.7 μg l−1 of Pb were 4.3 and 4.7%, respectively, calculated from ten measurements. The proposed method was evaluated with reference material and was applied for the determination of lead and copper in industrial and river waters.  相似文献

A preconcentration method of gold, palladium and copper based on the sorption of Au (III), Pd (II) and Cu (II) ions on a column packed with 3-(2-aminoethylamino)propyl bonded silica gel is described. The modified silica gel was synthesized and characterized by FT-IR and C, H, N elemental analysis. At column preconcentration, the effects of parameters such as pH, volume, flow rate, matrix constituents of solutions and type of eluent on preconcentration of gold, palladium and copper were studied. The recoveries of Au (III), Pd (II) and Cu (II) were 98.93±0.51, 98.81±0.36 and 99.21±0.42 % at 95 % confidence level, respectively. The detection limits (δ) of the elements were 0.032, 0.016 and 0.012 μg ml−1, respectively. The preconcentration method was applied for determination of gold and palladium in certified reference material SARM 7B and copper in river and synthetic seawater by FAAS. Gold, palladium and copper were determined with relative error lower than 10 %.  相似文献

Three silica gel sample systems, modified with 3-amino-propyltriethoxy silane (APTS), were prepared by sequentially sampling the reaction mixture at various time intervals. The concentrations of 3-aminopropylsilyl groups (APS) bound on the silica surface were determined by elemental analysis. For the same sample systems, 29Si NMR intensities of an (–O)4Si species belonging only to the silica gel particles and corrected by a cross-polarization correction factor were also measured. Both the APS-concentrations and the correc-ted 29Si NMR intensities depended upon reaction time, reflecting the rate of the APTS–silica gel reaction. Kinetic analysis of these data was made by use of the Gauss–Newton method, and the overall reaction was found to consist of three reaction processes (an initial fast reaction, a slower second reaction and a much slower third reaction). In particular, the conversion of (–O)3SiOH to (–O)4Si is predominant in the second reaction process and the pore size of a silica gel particle affects the reaction mechanism. New mesoporous materials prepared from tetraethoxysilane, i.e., sorbents obtained with the use of surfactants, are synthesized. Their chromatographic polarity is assessed quantitatively. Their Kovats retention indices and Rohrschneider polarity coefficients are calculated. Based on physicohemical data, it is demonstrated that modifying supports with metal chelates changes the structure and properties of the initial sorbents: the differential molar Gibbs free energies rise considerably for sorbent modified with copper acetylacetonate with respect to ethanol (?ΔG i = 7.09 kJ/mol) and nitromethane (?ΔG i = 6.75 kJ/mol), relative to the initial silica gel (5.43 and 4.15 kJ/mol, respectively).  相似文献

Tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin (TCPP) has been loaded on aminopropyl-silica gel by physical adsorption and by direct immobilization through formation of an amide bond to obtain chelating sorbents. These sorbents have been studied for preconcentration and separation of vanadium prior to its determination by atomic absorption spectrometry. Several parameters, such as sorption capacity of the chelating resin, pH for retention of V(IV) and V(V), volume of sample and eluent, were evaluated. Both vanadium species sorbed on TCPP-modified resin could be eluted using 2 mol L(-1) nitric acid solution. The recovery values were > 94% and preconcentration factor of 160 was obtained. For speciation analysis, cyclohexane-1,2-diaminetetraacetic acid (CDTA) was added to the sample for complexation of vanadium(IV), which was not retained on the microcolumn. The proposed method was examined for reference standard materials (TM-25.2 and CAAS-3) as well as for river water samples.  相似文献

This paper describes our research on the synthesis of the sorbent with chemically bonded ketoimine groups, and, furthermore, using this sorbent in the SPE technique to extract and preconcentrate trace amounts of metal ions in water samples. Surface characteristics of the sorbent were determined by elemental analysis, NMR spectra for the solid phases (29Si CP MAS NMR), and analysis of pore size distribution of the sorbent and nitrogen adsorption-desorption. The newly proposed sorbent with ketoimine groups was applied for the extraction and preconcentration of trace amounts of Cu (II), Cr (III) and Zn (II) ions from the water from a lake, post-industrial water and purified water unburdened back to the lake. The determination of the transition-metal ions was performed on an emission spectroscope with inductively coupled plasma ICP-OES. For the batch method, the optimum pH range for Cu (II) and Cr (III) extraction was equal to 5, and Zn(II)–to 8. All the metal ions can be desorbed from SPE columns with 10?mL of 0.5?mol?HNO3. The detection limits of the method were found to be 0.7?µg?L?1 for Cu (II), 0.08?µg?L?1 for Cr (III), and 0.2?µg?L?1 for Zn (II), respectively.  相似文献

The sorption properties of silica gel with γ-mercaptopropyl groups chemically immobilized on its surface toward Pb(II), Cd(II), and Zn(II) at MPC levels in natural water in Ukraine were studied. The mutual effect of Pb(II), Cd(II), and Zn(II) in the sorption-X-ray fluorescence determination of their trace amounts with preextraction on silica gel with γ-mercaptopropyl groups was examined  相似文献

A novel adsorbent-silica gel bound dithizone (H2Dz-SG) was prepared and used as solid-phase extraction of copper from complex matrix. The H2Dz-SG is investigated by means of FT-IR spectra and the SEM images, demonstrating the bonding of dithizone. The H2Dz-SG quantitatively adsorb copper ions, and the retained copper is afterwards collected by elution of 10% (v/v) nitric acid. An on-line flow injection solid-phase extraction procedure was developed for trace copper separation and preconcentration with detection by flame atomic spectrometry. By loading 5.4 mL of sample solution, a liner range of 0.5-120 μg L−1, an enrichment factor of 42.6, a detection limit of 0.2 μg L−1 and a precision of 1.7% RSD at the 40 μg L−1 level (n = 11) were obtained, along with a sampling frequency of 47 h−1. The dynamic sorption capacity of H2Dz-SG to Cu2+ was 0.76 mg g−1. The accuracy of the proposed procedure was evaluated by determination of copper in reference water sample. The potential applications of the procedure for extraction of trace copper were successfully accomplished in water samples (tap, rain, snow, sea and river). The spiking recoveries within 91-107% are achieved.  相似文献

Thin films of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) are commonly used to promote adhesion between silica substrates and organic or metallic materials with applications ranging from advanced composites to biomolecular lab-on-a-chip. Unfortunately, there is confusion as to which reaction conditions will result in consistently aminated surfaces. A wide range of conflicting experimental methods are used with researchers often assuming the creation of smooth self-assembled monolayers. A range of film morphologies based on the film deposition conditions are presented here to establish an optimized method of APTES film formation. The effect of reaction temperature, solution concentration, and reaction time on the structure and morphology was studied for the system of APTES on silica. Three basic morphologies were observed: smooth thin film, smooth thick film, and roughened thick film.  相似文献

Benzoylthiourea derivatives (N,N-diphenyl-N′-(3-methylbenzoyl)thiourea and diphenyl-N′-(4-methylbenzoyl)thiourea) were impregnated onto silica gel. The preconcentration of uranium(VI) from aqueous solution was investigated. Extraction conditions were optimized in batch method prior to determination by uv–visible absorption spectrometry using arsenazo(III). The optimum pH for quantitative adsorption was found as 3–7. Quantitative recovery of uranium (VI) was achieved by stripping with 0.1 mol L?1 HCl. Equilibration time was determined as 30 min for 99% sorption of U(VI). Under optimal conditions, dynamic linear range of for U(VI) was found as 0.25–10 μg mL?1. The relative standard deviation as percentage and detection limit were 5.0% (n = 10) for 10 μg mL?1 U(VI) solution and 8.7 ng mL?1, respectively. The method was employed to the preconcentration of U(VI) ions in soil and tap water samples.  相似文献

Thallium (0.02-20 mug) was successfully preconcentrated on silica gel C18 from 0.1M hydrochloric acid in the presence of various cationic surfactants as ion pairs with tetrachlorothallate(III), and subsequently eluted with 96% ethanol. Of various atomic spectrometric procedures considered, emission spectrometry in a nitrous oxide-acetylene flame is suitable for the final determination of thallium in plants, this is more sensitive for thallium than flame atomic absorption spectrometry.  相似文献

A new sorbent – salen impregnated silica gel – was prepared and characterised for application as a minicolumn packing for flow-injection on-line preconcentration of cadmium(II). The system was coupled with flame atomic absorption spectrometer (FI-FAAS). The optimal pH for Cd(II) sorption was in the range of 7.4–8.8 and nitric acid (1%, v/v) was efficient as eluent. Sorption was most effective within the sample flow rate up to 7?mL?min?1. Sorption capacity of the sorbent found in a batch procedure was 26.3?µmol?g?1 (2.95?mg?g?1). Enrichment factor (EF) and limit of detection (LOD) obtained for 120-second loading time were 113 and 0.26?µg?L?1, respectively. The sorbent stability in the working conditions was proved for at least 100 preconcentration cycles. The evaluated method was applied to Cd(II) determination in various water samples.  相似文献
