An amplitude equation is considered. The linear stability of the equation with direct control is investigated, and hence a bifurcation set is provided in the appropriate parameter plane. It is found that there exist stability switches when delay varies, and the Hopf bifurcation occurs when delay passes through a sequence of critical values. Furthermore, the stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, some numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the obtained results.  相似文献

In this paper, the diffusion is introduced to an immunosuppressive infection model with delayed antiviral immune response. The direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation are effected by time delay, in the absence of which the positive equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable by means of analyzing eigenvalue spectrum; however, when the time delay increases beyond a threshold, the positive equilibrium loses its stability via the Hopf bifurcation. The stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation is investigated with the norm form and the center manifold theory. The stability of the Hopf bifurcation leads to the emergence of spatial spiral patterns. Numerical calculations are performed to illustrate our theoretical results. This paper studied the stability and Hopf bifurcation of a type of protein synthesis system with time delay and negative feedback. Firstly, it is proved theoretically that the time delay, nonlinearity in the protein production and the cooperativity in the negative feedback are key factors to generate circadian oscillation; Taking time delay as a parameter, we obtained the critical value of the time delay that Hopf bifurcation generates. Secondly, based on the center manifold and normal form theorem, we derived the formulas for determining the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions and the supercritical or subcritical Hopf bifurcation. This paper is concerned with a predator-prey system with Holling type IV functional response and time delay. Our aim is to investigate how the time delay affects the dynamics of the predator-prey system. By choosing the delay as a bifurcation parameter, the local asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium and existence of local Hopf bifurcations are analyzed. Based on the normal form and the center manifold theory, the formulaes for determining the properties of Hopf bifurcation of the predator-prey system are derived. Finally, to support these theoretical results, some numerical simulations are given to illustrate the results.  相似文献

The dynamical behavior of a delayed neural network with bi-directional coupling is investigated by taking the delay as the bifurcating parameter. Some parameter regions are given for conditional/absolute stability and Hopf bifurcations by using the theory of functional differential equations. As the propagation time delay in the coupling varies, stability switches for the trivial solution are found. Conditions ensuring the stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. We also discuss the spatio-temporal patterns of bifurcating periodic oscillations by using the symmetric bifurcation theory of delay differential equations combined with representation theory of Lie groups. In particular, we obtain that the spatio-temporal patterns of bifurcating periodic oscillations will alternate according to the change of the propagation time delay in the coupling, i.e., different ranges of delays correspond to different patterns of neural activities. Numerical simulations are given to illustrate the obtained results and show the existence of bursts in some interval of the time for large enough delay.  相似文献

The present paper is concerned with a diffusive population model of Logistic type with an instantaneous density-dependent term and two delayed density-dependent terms and subject to the zero-Dirichlet boundary condition. By regarding the delay as the bifurcation parameter and analyzing in detail the associated eigenvalue problem, the local asymptotic stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcation for the sufficiently small positive steady state solution are shown. It is found that under the suitable condition, the positive steady state solution of the model will become ultimately unstable after a single stability switch (or change) at a certain critical value of delay through a Hopf bifurcation. However, under the other condition, the positive steady state solution of the model will become ultimately unstable after multiple stability switches at some certain critical values of delay through Hopf bifurcations. In addition, the direction of the above Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are analyzed by means of the center manifold theory and normal form method for partial functional differential equations. Finally, in order to illustrate the correction of the obtained theoretical results, some numerical simulations are also carried out.  相似文献

In this paper, a congestion control algorithm with heterogeneous delays in a wireless access network is considered. We regard the communication time delay as a bifurcating parameter to study the dynamical behaviors, i.e., local asymptotical stability, Hopf bifurcation and resonant codimension-two bifurcation. By analyzing the associated characteristic equation, the Hopf bifurcation occurs when the delay passes through a sequence of critical value. Furthermore, the direction and stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are derived by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. In the meantime, the resonant codimension-two bifurcation is also found in this model. Some numerical examples are finally performed to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a reaction–diffusion–advection model with time delay effect. The stability/instability of the spatially nonhomogeneous positive steady state and the associated Hopf bifurcation are investigated when the given parameter of the model is near the principle eigenvalue of an elliptic operator. Our results imply that time delay can make the spatially nonhomogeneous positive steady state unstable for a reaction–diffusion–advection model, and the model can exhibit oscillatory pattern through Hopf bifurcation. The effect of advection on Hopf bifurcation values is also considered, and our results suggest that Hopf bifurcation is more likely to occur when the advection rate increases.  相似文献

本文主要研究了一个改进的带时滞和无选择捕获函数的捕食-食饵生态经济系统的稳定性和Hopf分支.利用微分代数系统的稳定性理论和分支理论,得到了系统正平衡点稳定性的条件,以及当时滞τ作为分支参数时系统产生Hopf分支的条件.对Leslie-Gower捕食-食饵模型进行了一定程度的完善,使得建立的模型更符合实际情况,因此得到的结论也更加科学.  相似文献

Inspired by a simulation specific to a delayed HIV model with stage-structure, some dynamic behaviors are studied in this paper, including global stability of disease-free equilibrium and local Hopf bifurcation when taking the delay as a parameter. The corresponding characteristic equation is a transcendental equation, with the parameters delay-dependent, thus we use the conventional analysis introduced by Beretta and Kuang to obtain sufficient conditions to the existence of Hopf bifurcation. Then some properties of Hopf bifurcation such as direction, stability and period are determined, and several examples illustrate our results.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigated Hopf bifurcation by analyzing the distributed ranges of eigenvalues of characteristic linearized equation. Using communication delay as the bifurcation parameter, linear stability criteria dependent on communication delay have also been derived, and, furthermore, the direction of Hopf bifurcation as well as stability of periodic solution for the exponential RED algorithm with communication delay is studied. We find that the Hopf bifurcation occurs when the communication delay passes a sequence of critical values. The stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. In this paper, a four-neuron BAM neural network with distributed delays is considered, where kernels are chosen as weak kernels. Its dynamics is studied in terms of local stability analysis and Hopf bifurcation analysis. By choosing the average delay as a bifurcation parameter and analyzing the associated characteristic equation, Hopf bifurcation occurs when the bifurcation parameter passes through some exceptive values. It is known that one-predator–two-prey system with constant rate harvesting can exhibit very rich dynamics. If such a system contains time delayed component, it can have more interesting behavior. In this paper we study the effects of the time delay on the dynamics of the harvested one-predator–two-prey model. It is shown that time delay can cause a stable equilibrium to become unstable. By choosing the delay τ as a bifurcation parameter, we show that Hopf bifurcation can occur as the delay τ crosses some critical values. The direction and stability of the Hopf bifurcation are investigated by following the procedure of deriving normal form given by Faria and Magalhães. An example is given and numerical simulations are finally performed for justifying the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, an age‐structured population model with the form of neutral functional differential equation is studied. We discuss the stability of the positive equilibrium by analyzing the characteristic equation. Local Hopf bifurcation results are also obtained by choosing the mature delay as bifurcation parameter. On the center manifold, the normal form of the Hopf bifurcation is derived, and explicit formulae for determining the criticality of bifurcation are theoretically given. Moreover, the global continuation of Hopf bifurcating periodic solutions is investigated by using the global Hopf bifurcation theory of neutral equations. A differential delay equation model with a discrete time delay and a distributed time delay is introduced to simulate zooplankton–nutrient interaction. The differential inequalities’ methods and standard Hopf bifurcation analysis are applied. Some sufficient conditions are obtained for persistence and for the global stability of the unique positive steady state, respectively. A Cohen-Grossberg neural network with discrete delays is investigated in this paper. The qualitative analysis is given for the system and it is found that the system undergoes a sequence of Hopf bifurcations by choosing the discrete time delay as a bifurcation parameter. Moreover, by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem, the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are obtained.
