Synthesis, spectral and solution studies on 2-ethyl imidazolate-bridged (2-EtIm) homo-binuclear copper(II)-copper(II) and hetero-binuclear copper(II)-zinc(II) homologue are described. Magnetic moment values of homo-binuclear complexes indicate that the imidazolate group can mediate antiferromagnetic interactions. Optical spectra of hetero-binuclear complex at varying pH values suggest that the imidazolate-bridged complex is stable over the pH-range 7.15–10.0.  相似文献

The thermal behavior of montmorillonite and organically modified montmorillonite, both treated with heavy metal cations [Cu(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II)], was characterized via thermal analyses (TG, DTG and DTA) combined with evolved species gas mass spectrometry (MS-EGA), and X-ray diffraction at in situ controlled temperature (HTXRD). The reactions involving Cu(II)- and Cd(II)-montmorillonite samples are mostly related to H2O and OH loss, unlike Hg(II)-montmorillonite, where effects associated to Hg(II) loss are also present. Finally reactions related to dehydration, dehydroxylation and to organic matter decomposition can be observed in montmorillonite samples treated with cysteine.  相似文献

A number of complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Ru(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II) with 2-methyl-3-(carboxy methyl) quinazolin (3H)-4-one (MCMQ) and 2-phenyl-3-(carboxy methyl) quinazolin (3H)-4-one (PCMQ) have been synthesized and characterized by analytical, conductivity, thermal, magnetic, infrared, electronic, proton magnetic resonance and electron spin resonance spectral data. Based on analytical data, the stoichiometry and the association with other molecules of the complexes have been determined. Conductivity data show that all these complexes are nonelectrolytes. Infrared and PMR spectral data indicate that both the ligands are uninegative bidentate with all the metal ions. Based on electronic spectral data, the geometries of the complexes have been indicated. Electronic spectral parameters for Co(II) and Ni(II) and ESR parameters for Cu(II) complexes have been calculated and relevant conclusions have been drawn with respect to the nature of bonds present in them.  相似文献

The synthesis, characterization and diuretic activity of four new biologically active complexes of Mg(II) and VO(II) with bidentate Schiff base ligand acetazolamide–salicylaldimine (L) obtained from the inserted condensation of 5-acetamido-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-sulphonamide (acetazolamide) with salicylaldehyde in a 1:1 molar ratio have been reported. Using this bidentate ligand complexes of Mg(II), Mn(II), Fe(II) and VO(II) with general formula ML2 have been synthesized. The synthesized complexes were characterized by several techniques using elemental analysis, FT-IR, electronic spectra, TGA, mass, particle size analysis and molar conductance measurements. The elemental analysis data suggest the stoichiometry to be 1:2 [M:L]. The molar conductance measurements suggest non-electrolytic nature of the complexes. Infrared spectral data agreed with the coordination to the central metal ion through deprotonated phenolic oxygen and azomethine nitrogen atoms. On the basis of spectral studies, octahedral geometry is suggested for Mg(II), Mn(II), Fe(II) and square pyramidal geometry is suggested for VO(II) complexes. The pure drug, synthesized ligand and metal(II) complexes were screened for their antimicrobial activities against Eschericia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus flavous. The results show that the metal complexes were more active than the ligand and pure drug against these microbial species as expected. The ligand and its Mg(II) complexes was screened for their diuretic activity also.  相似文献

Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 2,5-dichlorobenzoates were prepared and their compositions and solubilities in water at 295 K were determined. The IR spectra and X-ray diffractograms of the obtained complexes were recorded. The complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) were obtained as solids with a 1:2 molar ratio of metal to organic ligand and different degrees of hydration. When heated at a heating rate of 10 K min-1, the hydrated complexes lose some (Co, Zn) or all (Ni, Cu, Cd) of the crystallization water molecules and then decompose to oxide MO (Co, Ni) or gaseous products (Cu, Zn, Cd). When heated at a heating rate of 5 K min-1, the complexes of Ni(II) and Cu(II) lose some (Ni) or all (Cu) of the crystallization water molecules and then decompose directly to MO. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The crystal structures of five new Co(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) coordination polymers based on pyridine-substituted triazolyl carboxylates are reported. The two isomorphous compounds (∞)3[M(Me-3py-pba)?] (M = Zn, Co) possess {6?} topology (dia). In order to obtain heteronuclear compounds, we synthesized Co(II)-substituted Zn(II) and Cd(II) coordination polymers. At T = 5 K, the powder samples of the diamagnetically diluted Co(II)/Zn(II) and Co(II)/Cd(II) systems [Co/(Zn,Cd) ≈ 0.01] show intense electron paramagnetic resonance spectra, which were analyzed with an effective spin of S' = ?. The g tensor as well as the ??Co hyperfine tensor A(Co) are strongly anisotropic. The g tensor components are used to gain information about the symmetry of the Co(II) coordination sphere and covalency effects. Differential thermal analysis/thermogravimetry-mass spectrometry and temperature-dependent powder X-ray diffraction studies reveal high thermal stability of the three-dimensional coordination polymers up to 390 °C.  相似文献

Three tripodal hexamine chelators based on cis,cis-1,3,5-triaminocyclohexane (tach) have been synthesized and their aqueous coordination chemistry with Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) is reported. The chelators have a 2-aminoethyl pendant arm attached to each nitrogen of tach, specifically 'tachen'(N,N',N'-tris(2-aminoethyl)cyclohexane-cis,cis-1,3,5-triamine), and two with S,S,S-chiral pendant arms, 'tachpn'(N,N',N'-tris(2-aminopropyl)cyclohexane-cis,cis-1,3,5-triamine) and 'tachbn'(N,N',N'-tris(2-amino-3-phenylpropyl)cyclohexane-cis,cis-1,3,5-triamine. These chelators complex Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) in aqueous or aqueous/methanolic medium. The crystalline products [M(II)L](X)2 are isolated, where M = Ni(II), Cu(II) or Zn(II), L = tachen, tachpn or tachbn, and X = ClO4-. Crystallographic study of selected tachpn and tachbn complexes shows the chelate arms are constrained in a Lambda(deltadeltadelta) configuration about M(II), which is attributed to their chirality. Solution UV-vis spectroscopy of the Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes indicates six-coordination and little effect of the pendant arm substitution on ligand-field strength. The single exception is [Cu(tachbn)]2+, whose spectrum is consistent with five-coordination in solution. The cytotoxicities of tachen, tachpn and tachbn toward cultured cancer cells is in the order tachen < tachpn < tachbn < tachpyr, where tachpyr is the aminopyridyl chelator N,N',N'-tris(2-pyridylmethyl)cyclohexane-cis,cis-1,3,5-triamine. The cytotoxicity difference is attributed to an order of increasing lipophilicity, tachen < tachpn < tachbn.  相似文献

The present study reports removal of As(V) by adsorption onto laboratory-prepared pure and Cu(II)-, Ni(II)-, and Co(II)-doped goethite samples. The X-ray diffraction patterns showed only goethite as the crystalline phase. Doping of ions in the goethite matrix resulted in shift of d-values. Various parameters chosen for adsorption were nature of adsorbent, percentage of doped cations in goethite matrix, contact time, solution pH, and percentage of adsorbate. It was observed that the pH(pzc) of the goethite surface depended on the nature and concentration of metal ions. The surface area as well as the loading capacity increased with the increase of dopant percentage in goethite matrix. A maximum loading capacity of 19.55 mg/g was observed for 2.7% Cu(II)-doped goethite. The adsorption kinetics for Ni(II), Co(II) and for undoped goethite attained a quasi-equilibrium state after 30 min with almost negligible adsorption beyond this time. In case of Cu(II)-doped goethite samples, the quasi-equilibrium state for As(V) adsorption was observed after 60 min. At each studied pH condition, it was observed that the percentage of adsorption of As(V) decreased in the order Cu(II)-doped goethite > or = Ni(II)-doped goethite > Co(II)-doped goethite > pure goethite. The adsorption followed: Langmuir isotherm, indicating monolayer formation.  相似文献

The complexes of 3,5-dimethoxybenzoates of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) have been synthesized as hydrated polycrystalline solids and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, FIR and electronic spectroscopy, magnetic studies and X-ray diffraction measurements. They possess colours typical of the M(II) ions: Cu-blue, Ni-green, Co-pink. The carboxylate groups bind as monodentate or a symmetrical, bidentate chelating or bridging ligands. The thermal stabilities were determined in air. When heated they dehydrate to form anhydrous salts which are decomposed to the oxides of respective metals. The magnetic susceptibilities of the complexes were measured over the range 77-300 K and the magnetic moments were calculated. The results reveal the complexes of Ni(II) and Co(II) to be high-spin complexes and that of Cu(II) to form dimer.  相似文献

The equilibrium constants of alpha,beta,gamma,delta-tetrakis(1-methylpyridinium-4-yl)porphine (TMPyP) complexes of cadmium(II), lead(II), magnesium(II), and zinc(II) were spectrophotometrically determined using the absorption spectra at the Soret band and the fluorescence spectra. The values of the following constants at 25 degrees C and ionic strength 0.1M were evaluated: K(PbP) = 10(-8.07 +/- 0.09), K(CdP) = 10(-7.68 +/- 0.03), K(ZnP) = 10(1.72 +/- 0.08), and K(MgP) = 10(-7.40 +/- 0.08) by the acid hydrolysis reaction of the TMPyP-metal complex at various pHs; K(PbP) = 10(-7.80 +/- 0.04) and K(CdP) = 10(-7.38 +/- 0.04) were determined by the ligand exchange reaction between TMPyP and nitrilotriacetic acid.  相似文献

Conditions for the preparation of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 4-methylphthalates were investigated and their composition, solubility in water at 295 K and magnetic moments were determined. IR spectra and powder diffraction patterns of the complexes prepared with molar ratio of metal to organic ligand of 1.0:1.0 and general formula: M [ CH3C6H3(CO2)2nH2o (n=1-3) were recorded and their decomposition in air were studied. During heating the hydrated complexes are dehydrated in one (Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, Cd) or two steps (Cu) and next the anhydrous complexes decompose to oxides directly (Cu, Zn), with intermediate formation of carbonates (Mn, Cd), oxocarbonates (Ni) or carbonate and free metal (Co). The carboxylate groups in the complexes studied are mono- and bidentate (Co, Ni), bidentate chelating and bridging (Zn) or bidentate chelating (Mn, Cu, Cd). The magnetic moments for paramagnetic complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) attain values 5.92, 5.05, 3.36 and 1.96 M.B., respectively. Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) chloro complexes of benzilic hydrazide (BH) have been synthesized. Also, reaction of the ligand (BH) with several copper(II) salts, including NO3 ?, AcO?, and SO4 ? afforded metal complexes of the general formula [CuLX(H2O) n nH2O, where X is the anion and n = 0, 1 or 2. The newly synthesized complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectra, molar conductance, UV–vis, IR spectra, magnetic moment, and thermal analysis (TG/DTG). The physico-chemical studies support that the ligand acts as monobasic bidentate towards metal ion through the carbonyl and hydroxyl oxygen atoms. The spectral data revealed that the geometrical structure of the complexes is square planar for Cu (II) complexes and tetrahedral for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes. Structural parameters of the ligand and its complexes have been calculated. The ligand and its metal complexes are screened for their antimicrobial activity. The catalytic activities of the metal chelates have been studied towards the oxidative decolorization of AB25, IC and AB92 dyes using H2O2. The catalytic activity is strongly dependent on the type of the metal ion and the anion of Cu(II) complexes.  相似文献

Homo- and heterobimetallic complexes of composition [(bpy)(2)M(II)(H(2)Imbzim)M'(II)(bpy)(2)](ClO(4))(3)·nH(2)O, where M(II) = M'(II) = Os (1), M(II) = Ru and M'(II) = Os (2), H(3)Imbzim = 4,5-bis(benzimidazole-2-yl)imidazole, and bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, have been synthesized and characterized using standard analytical and spectroscopic techniques. Both of the complexes crystallized in monoclinic form with the space group P2(1)/m for 1 and P2(1)/n for 2. The absorption spectra, redox behavior, and luminescence properties of the complexes have been thoroughly investigated. The complexes display very intense, ligand-centered absorption bands in the UV region and moderately intense metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) bands in the visible region. The bimetallic complexes show two successive one-electron reversible metal-centered oxidations. The strong fluorescence of free H(3)Imbzim is completely quenched in the metal complexes by energy transfer to the metal-based units, which exhibit their characteristic MLCT phosphorescence. The luminescence data of the heterometallic complex 2 show that electronic energy transfer takes place from the ruthenium center to the osmium-based component. The anion binding properties of the complexes have been studied in solutions using absorption, emission, and (1)H NMR spectral measurements. The metalloreceptors act as sensors for F(-) and AcO(-) ions. Sensing studies indicate the presence of two successive anion-induced deprotonation steps, leading to the formation of [(bpy)(2)M(HImbzim)M'(bpy)(2)](2+) and [(bpy)(2)M(Imbzim)M'(bpy)(2)](+) species. Double deprotonation is also observed in the presence of hydroxide. The binding affinities of different anions toward the receptors have been evaluated. Cyclic voltammetry measurements carried out in acetonitrile have provided evidence in favor of anion-dependent electrochemical responses of the bimetallic metalloreceptors with F(-) and AcO(-) ions.  相似文献

Four new complexes of 2,3,4-trimethoxybenzoic acid anion with manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) cations were synthesized, analysed and characterized by standard chemical and physical methods. 2,3,4-Trimethoxybenzoates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) are polycrystalline compounds with colours typical for M(II) ions. The carboxylate group in the anhydrous complexes of Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) is monodentate and in that of Cu(II) monohydrate is bidentate bridging one. The anhydrous complexes of Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) heated in air to 1273 K are stable up to 505–517 K. Next in the range of 505–1205 K they decompose to the following oxides: Mn3O4, CoO, NiO. The complex of Cu(II) is stable up to 390 K, and next in the range of 390–443 K it loses one molecule of water. The final product of its decomposition is CuO. The solubility in water at 293 K is of the order of 10–3 mol dm–3 for the Mn(II) complex and 10–4 mol dm–3 for Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes. The magnetic moment values of Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+ and Cu2+ ions in 2,3,4-trimethoxybenzoates experimentally determined in the range of 77–300 K change from 5.64–6.57 μB (for Mn2+), 4.73–5.17 μB (for Co2+), 3.26–3.35 μB (for Ni2+) and 0.27–1.42 μB (for Cu2+). 2,3,4-Trimethoxybenzoates of Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) follow the Curie–Weiss law, whereas that of Cu(II) forms a dimer.  相似文献

The imidazolate-bridged homodinuclear Cu(II)-Cu(II) complex, [(CuimCu)L]ClO(4).0.5H(2)O (1), and heterodinuclear Cu(II)-Zn(II) complex, [(CuimZnL(-)(2H))(CuimZnL(-)(H))](ClO(4))(3) (2), of a single macrocyclic ligand with two hydroxyethyl pendants, L (L = 3,6,9,16,19,22-hexaaza-6,19-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)tricyclo[22,2,2,2(11,14)]triaconta-1,11,13,24,27,29-hexaene), have been synthesized as possible models for copper-zinc superoxide dismutase (Cu(2),Zn(2)-SOD). Their crystal structures analyzed by X-ray diffraction methods have shown that the structures of the two complexes are markedly different. Complex 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, containing an imidazolate-bridged dicopper(II) [Cu-im-Cu](3+) core, in which the two copper(II) ions are pentacoordinated by virtue of an N4O environment with a Cu.Cu distance of 5.999(2) A, adopting the geometry of distorted trigonal bipyramid and tetragonal pyramid, respectively. Complex 2 crystallizes in the triclinic system, containing two similar Cu-im-Zn cores in the asymmetric unit, in which both the Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions are pentacoordinated in a distorted trigonal bipyramid geometry, with the Cu.Zn distance of 5.950(1)/5.939(1) A, respectively. Interestingly, the macrocyclic ligand with two arms possesses a chairlike (anti) conformation in complex 1, but a boatlike (syn) conformation in complex 2. Magnetic measurements and ESR spectroscopy of complex 1 have revealed the presence of an antiferromagnetic exchange interaction between the two Cu(II) ions. The ESR spectrum of the Cu(II)-Zn(II) heterodinuclear complex 2 displayed a typical signal for mononuclear trigonal bipyramidal Cu(II) complexes. From pH-dependent ESR and electronic spectroscopic studies, the imidazolate bridges in the two complexes have been found to be stable over broad pH ranges. The cyclic voltammograms of the two complexes have been investigated. Both of the two complexes can catalyze the dismutation of superoxide and show rather high activity.  相似文献

The reactions of Co(II) and Cu(II) acetates, valinates, and acetylacetonates with 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethyl-4,4′-dibutyldipyrrolylmethen (HL) in DMF at 298.15 K are studied by spectrophotometric method. The compositions and thermodynamic constants of formation of the Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes are determined using the methods of molar ratios and continuous changes. With an excess in Cu(II) acetate or acetylacetonate, the formation of mixed-ligand complexes CuL(OAc) and CuL(Acac), respectively, was observed, whereas CuL2 complex was detected in the case of HL excess. At either ratio of the reagent concentrations, reactions of Co(II) acetate and acetylacetonate with HL always afforded CoL2 complex, while in the case of Cu(II) and Co(II) valinates, only one amino acid ligand was replaced to give ML(Val) complexes (HVal is valine). The chelating capability of the ligand HL toward the Cu2+ ion was found to be higher than that toward the Co2+ ion.  相似文献

Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes are synthesized with thiosemicarbazone (L) derived from pyrrole-2-carboxyaldehyde. These complexes are characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurement, mass, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance measurement of the complexes in DMSO indicates that the complexes are non-electrolyte except Co(L)2(NO3)2 and Ni(L)2(NO3)2 complexes which are 1:2 electrolyte. All the complexes are of high-spin type. On the basis of spectral studies an octahedral geometry may be assigned for Mn(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes except Co(L)2(NO3)2 and Ni(L)2(NO3)2 which are of tetrahedral geometry. A tetragonal geometry may be suggested for Cu(II) complexes.  相似文献

Summary The ON–NO donor Schiff base,N,N'-bis(benzoin)benzidine forms mono-, di- and tetra-nuclear complexes with metal cations. The cobalt(II) complex is a blue monomei of tetrahedral configuration. The nickel(II) and manganese(II) complexes are dimers and octahedral. A tetranuclear square planar chloro-bridged structure is proposed for the copper(II) complex. A dimeric pentacoordinated square pyramidal configuration is assigned to zinc(II) and a dinuclear tetrahedral stereochemistry is suggested for the cadmium(II) and mercury(II) complexes on the basis of analytical, conductance, magnetic susceptibility, molecular weight, i.r., electronic, d.t.g. and d.t.a. data.  相似文献
