Silver nanostructures were synthesized under microwave irradiation from a solution of silver nitrate and sucrose, with any other reducing or capping agent. The size and morphology of nanostructures changed continuously during the irradiation time. The obtained nanostructures at the different irradiation time were characterized by X-Ray diffraction, UV–vis spectroscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy and selected area diffraction pattern. It was evidenced that initially Ag nanoparticles were formed, which, as reaction time elapsed, self-assembled and fused with each other to yield nanowires and further branched nanowires. The formation of the silver branched nanostructures can be explained as a process of initial reduction–nucleation–adsorption–growth–branching growth.  相似文献

Silver nanowires have been synthesized by ethylene glycol reduction of silver nitrate with the assistance of polyvinyl pyrrolidone and sodium sulfide in a large scale. By adjusting the reaction temperature and Na2S content, silver nanowires with lengths up to 3?4 μm can be achieved in high yield. Scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), selected areas electron diffraction (SAED), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) have been employed to characterize silver nanowires. Platinum nanotubes with length about 3 μm can be prepared using as-prepared silver nanowires as sacrificial templates. Platinum nanotubes were characterized by TEM, SAED, and HRTEM.  相似文献

Here, we describe a one-step synthesis of silver nanoparticles, nanorods, and nanowires on DNA network surface in the absence of surfactant. Silver ions were first adsorbed onto the DNA network and then reduced in sodium borohydride solution. Silver nanoparticles, nanorods, and nanowires were formed by controlling the size of pores of the DNA network. The diameter of the silver nanoparticles and the aspect ratio of the silver nanorods and nanowires can be controlled by adjusting the DNA concentration and reduction time.  相似文献

Silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) were synthesized using a facile green chemistry synthetic route. The reaction occurred at ambient temperature with four reducing agents introduced to obtain nanoscale Ag-NPs. The variables of the green synthetic route, such as acidity, concentration of starting materials, and molar ratio of reactants were optimized. Dispersing agents were employed to prevent Ag-NPs from aggregating. Advanced instrumentation techniques, such as X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV–vis), and phase analysis light scattering technique (ZetaPALS) were applied to characterize the morphology, particle size distribution, elemental composition, and electrokinetic behavior of the Ag-NPs. UV–vis spectra detected the characteristic plasmon at approximately 395–410 nm; and XRD results were indicative of face-centered cubic phase structure of Ag. These particles were found to be monodispersed and highly crystalline, displaying near-spherical appearance, with average particle size of 10.2 nm using citrate or 13.7 nm using ascorbic acid as reductants from particle size analysis by ZetaPALS, respectively. The rapid electrokinetic behavior of the Ag was evaluated using zetapotential (from −40 to −42 mV), which was highly dependant on nanoparticle acidity and particle size. The current research opens a new avenue for the green fabrication of nanomaterials (including variables optimization and aggregation prevention), and functionalization in the field of nanocatalysis, disinfection, and electronics.  相似文献

Silver nanoparticles in the bulk solution were obtained by the potentiostatic electrolysis in undivided cell using silver anode at the potential of the mediator reduction (tetraviologen calix[4]resorcine) at room temperature in DMF/0.1 M Bu4NPF6 media. The metal nanoparticles aggregate to form larger particles eventually.  相似文献

A new solvothermal method for the synthesis of thiol-protected silver nanoparticles starting from silver thiolates is reported. The method has been tried with thiols of different chain length, such as octane and octadecane thiols, and the particle size was found to be nearly the same for both molecules. The synthesis was dependent on heating conditions and the best results were obtained when the temperature was between 180 and 200 degrees C. Addition of complexation agents such as acetyl acetone or triethylamine to the solvent did not change the product distribution significantly.  相似文献

The paper reports the pH controlled synthesis of silver nanoparticles using honey as reducing and stabilizing agents. By adjusting the pH of the aqueous solution containing metal ions and honey, nanoparticles of various size could be obtained at room temperature. The nanoparticles were characterized by UV–visible, high-resolution TEM, XRD and FTIR measurements. The colloid obtained at a pH of 8.5 is found to consist of monodispersed and nearly spherical silver nanoparticles of size ~4 nm which is a significant advancement in biosynthesis. The high crystallinity with fcc phase is evidenced by clear lattice fringes in the high-resolution TEM image and peaks in the XRD pattern corresponding to (1 1 1), (2 0 0), (2 2 0), (3 1 1) and (2 2 2) planes. FTIR spectrum indicates that the nanoparticles are bound to protein through the carboxylate ion group.  相似文献

Facile and reproducible SERS signals from Shewanella oneidensis were obtained utilizing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and silver nanowires (AgNWs). Additionally, SERS images identify the distribution of SERS hot-spots. One important observation is the synergistically enhanced SERS signal when AgNPs and AgNWs are used in conjunction, due to constructively enhanced electromagnetic field.  相似文献

Using a simple wet chemical route, high-yield silver nanowires with an average diameter of 25+/-5 nm and length up to several microm and dendrites with a long central backbone and symmetrically ramified secondary branches have been successfully obtained by reducing AgNO(3) with L-ascorbic acid (AsA) in the mixed surfactant solutions of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). It was found that the architecture of silver nanocrystals was drastically influenced by the concentrations of ascorbic acid. At a given high concentration, a nonequilibrium system was easily built, which favored the formation of fractals. When the concentration was lowered, one-dimensional silver nanowires were successfully obtained. In addition, the presence of electrolyte (NaCl) plays an important role in the preparation of silver nanowires, influencing the silver crystallization process in surprising ways.  相似文献

A reverse microemulsion method is reported for preparing monodispersed silica-coated gold (or silver) nanoparticles without the use of a silane coupling agent or polymer as the surface primer. This method enables a fine control of the silica shell thickness with nanometer precision. As compared to the St?ber method reported for direct silica coating, which can only coat large gold particles ( approximately 50 nm in diameter) at low concentrations (<1.5 x 10(10) particles/mL), this new approach is capable of coating gold particles of a wide range of sizes (from 10 to 50 nm) at a much higher concentration ( approximately 1.5 x 10(13) particles/mL). Moreover, it enables straightforward surface functionalization via co-condensation between tetraethyl orthosilicate and another silane with the desired functional groups. The functional groups introduced by this method are readily accessible and thus useful for various applications.  相似文献

Green synthesis of noble metal nanoparticles is a vast developing area of research. In this paper we report the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using aqueous seed extract of Macrotyloma uniflorum. The effect of experimental parameters such as amount of extract, temperature and pH on the formation of silver nanoparticles was studied. The as prepared samples are characterized using XRD, TEM, UV-Visible and FTIR techniques. The formation of silver nanoparticles is evidenced by the appearance of signatory brown colour of the solution and UV-vis spectra. The XRD analysis shows that the silver nanoparticles are of face centered cubic structure. Well-dispersed silver nanoparticles with anisotropic morphology having size ~12 nm are seen in TEM images. FTIR spectrum indicates the presence of different functional groups in capping the nanoparticles. The possible mechanism leading to the formation of silver nanoparticles is suggested.  相似文献

Silver nanoparticles synthesized by a reagent less method involving only UV radiation have been used in colorimetric assay for the detection of ammonia in solution. The silver nanoparticles were synthesized by the exposure of a silver nitrate solution to a low-power UV source in the presence of poly(methacrylic acid) (PMA), which acted both as reducing and capping agent. The synthesis of the silver nanoparticles was studied by monitoring the changes in position and amplitude of the localized plasmon resonance (LSPR) band using UV-vis spectroscopy. The morphology of the particles was studied using transmission electron microscopy which confirmed the formation of spherical particles with an average particle size around 8 nm. Interestingly, the silver nanoparticles solution was found to display a strong color shift from purple to yellow upon mixing with increasing concentration of ammonia ranging from 5 to 100 ppm. Hence, the nanoparticles prepared with this method could be used as colorimetric assay for sensing applications of ammonia in water.  相似文献

Nanohybrids of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) supported on mica clay were synthesized by in situ reduction of silver nitrate in an aqueous solution. The required mica platelets of high aspect ratio were previously prepared by the exfoliation of mica clay stacks in a multilayered structure through an ionic exchange reaction with poly(oxypropylene)-amine-salt. The exfoliated nanoscale mica platelets (Mica) are polydispersed such that each platelet is 300-1000 nm in width and 1 nm in thickness. These platelets possess ionic charges in the form of ≡SiO(-)Na(+) at 120 mequiv/100 g and are suitable for supporting AgNPs in the process of in situ reduction of silver nitrate. Transmission electronic microscopy revealed the formation of AgNPs with a narrow size distribution of ca. 8 nm in diameter on the rim of individual Mica platelets. However, the pristine layered Mica structure without exfoliation failed to produce a fine AgNP distribution but instead generated particles larger than 30 nm and some precipitates. Characterization by differential scanning calorimetry and field emission scanning electron microscopy revealed that the fine AgNPs on Mica platelets exhibited a low melting temperature of 110 °C. The AgNP/Mica nanohybrid not containing an organic dispersant is considered to be a "naked" silver particle.  相似文献

This paper describes the preparation of uniform silver nanowires by reducing freshly prepared silver chloride with glucose at 180 degrees C for 18 hours in the absence of any surfactants or polymers. Scanning electron microscopy studies indicated that the silver nanowires are about 100 nm in diameter and up to 500 microm in length. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy analyses showed that the silver nanowires grow perpendicularly to the Ag(200) plane. The silver nanowires are believed to grow through a solid-solution-solid process. Some influential factors on the growth of silver nanowires are also discussed.  相似文献

A simple, one-step approach for the synthesis of micro- and nanoparticles of silver by employing a lyotropic liquid crystal (LLC) template is described. Anisotropic silver particles are synthesised by reducing an appropriate amount of precursor silver nitrate using a mild reducing agent ascorbic acid in presence of a hexagonal LLC medium, without the aid of any external stabilising agents. In this synthesis, precursor concentration, type of the reducing agent and LLC phase are found to significantly influence the particle size and morphology. Either a decrease in the concentration of silver nitrate or a change in the reducing agent, from ascorbic acid to sodium borohydride in the same reaction medium, yielded quasi-spherical nanoparticles. Besides, replacing the hexagonal LLC medium with a lamellar phase during the synthesis using ascorbic acid also resulted in the formation of spherical particles in nanometre scale. As a comparison, gold nanoparticle synthesis is carried out in hexagonal and lamellar LLC phases. Similar to the observations made in the silver particle synthesis, branched anisotropic particles are formed in the hexagonal phase and quasi-spherical particles are produced in the lamellar phase. A possible growth mechanism for the formation of these particles based on the phase structure of the LLC medium is discussed.  相似文献

The application of nanoparticles in the biomedical field is an exciting interdisciplinary research area in current materials science. In the present study, size-tunable and water-soluble noble metal silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) have been successfully synthesized with the assistance of glutathione (GSH). The as-synthesized Ag NPs are ready to bind covalently with a model protein (bovine serum albumin) in mild conditions. The optical property of surface-modifiable Ag NPs was extremely sensitive to their size and the surface modification, suggesting a potential in the biomedical analysis and detection. Furthermore, Ag NPs with an average diameter of ca. 6 nm effectively suppress the proliferation of human leukemic K562 cells in the dose- and time-dependent manners, suggesting the promising potential of Ag NPs in cancer therapy.  相似文献

A procedure was developed for the synthesis of gold and silver nanoparticles in the presence of polyols like ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, and 1,2-propylene glycol. Spectral characteristics of the obtained nanocomposites were mesured and kinetics of the formation of the colloidal phase was studied. The influence of the polyol nature and concentration on the photoinitiated formation of silver and gold nanoparticles was studied. The 1,2-propylene glycol is shown to exhibit maximal stabilizing effect.  相似文献

Long silver nanowires were synthesized at room temperature by a simple and fast process derived from the development of photographic films. A film consisting of an emulsion of tabular silver bromide grains in gelatin was treated with a photographic developer (4-(methylamino)phenol sulfate (metol), citric acid) in the presence of additional aqueous silver nitrate. The silver nanowires have lengths of more than 50 μm, some even more than 100 μm, and average diameters of about 80 nm. Approximately, 70% of the metallic silver formed in the reduction consists of silver nanowires. Selected area electron diffraction (SAED) results indicate that the silver nanowires grow along the [111] direction. It was found that the presence of gelatin, tabular silver bromide crystals and silver ions in solution are essential for the formation of the silver nanowires. The nanowires appear to originate from the edges of the silver bromide crystals. They were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), SAED, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and powder X-ray diffraction (XRD).  相似文献
