In this paper, we consider the existence, nonexistence and multiplicity of a positive solution for a Gelfand type generalized Laplacian system with a singular indefinite weight and a vector parameter. By using the upper and lower solution method and fixed point index theory, we obtain a global multiplicity result with respect to the parameter.  相似文献

This paper treats the occurrence of homoclinic solutions in planar systems with discontinuous right-hand side. More precisely, we deal with a TT-periodic perturbed system such that the unperturbed system is an autonomous possessing homoclinic orbit. By means of the so-called “non-smooth” Melnikov function there is shown the existence of a homoclinic solution for a perturbed system. The non-smooth Melnikov function is derived, and the method of how to find it in concrete problems is also introduced.  相似文献

The geometric method of involving the relative positions of the nullcline planes is used to analyze the global asymptotic behavior of solutions of autonomous Lotka-Volterra competitive systems. Some observations about limit sets are made and, based on these observations, new criteria are established for the system to have a single point global repellor. Clearly, these criteria can be used to preclude the existence of nonconstant periodic solutions.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a cross-diffusion system arising in a prey-predator population model. The main purpose is to discuss the stability analysis for coexistence steady-state solutions obtained by Kuto and Yamada (J. Differential Equations, to appear). We will give some criteria on the stability of these coexistence steady states. Furthermore, we show that the Hopf bifurcation phenomenon occurs on the steady-state solution branch under some conditions.  相似文献

We establish a series of properties of symmetric, N-pulse, homoclinic solutions of the reduced Gray-Scott system: u=uv2, v=vuv2, which play a pivotal role in questions concerning the existence and self-replication of pulse solutions of the full Gray-Scott model. Specifically, we establish the existence, and study properties, of solution branches in the (α,β)-plane that represent multi-pulse homoclinic orbits, where α and β are the central values of u(x) and v(x), respectively. We prove bounds for these solution branches, study their behavior as α→∞, and establish a series of geometric properties of these branches which are valid throughout the (α,β)-plane. We also establish qualitative properties of multi-pulse solutions and study how they bifurcate, i.e., how they change along the solution branches.  相似文献

The existence and multiplicity of positive periodic solutions for second-order non-autonomous singular dynamical systems are established with superlinearity or sublinearity assumptions at infinity for an appropriately chosen parameter. Our results provide a unified treatment for the problem and significantly improve several results in the literature. The proof of our results is based on the Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem in a cone.  相似文献

In this paper, we present versions of the Farkas Lemma and the Gale Lemma for a semi-infinite system involving positively homogeneous functions in a topological vector space. For a Nicholson’s blowflies model with patch structure and multiple discrete delays, we study some aspects of its global dynamics. Conditions for the absolute global asymptotic stability of both the trivial equilibrium and a positive equilibrium (when it exists) are given. The existence of positive heteroclinic solutions connecting the two equilibria is also addressed. We further consider a diffusive Nicholson-type model with patch structure, and establish a criterion for the existence of positive travelling wave solutions, for large wave speeds. Several applications illustrate the results, improving some criteria in the recent literature.  相似文献

In this paper we study the versal unfolding of a predator-prey system with ratio-dependent functional response near a degenerate equilibrium in order to obtain all possible phase portraits for its perturbations. We first construct the unfolding and prove its versality and degeneracy of codimension 2. Then we discuss all its possible bifurcations, including transcritical bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation, and heteroclinic bifurcation, give conditions of parameters for the appearance of closed orbits and heteroclinic loops, and describe the bifurcation curves. In this paper, we study Keller-Segel systems with fractional diffusion and a nonlocal term. We establish the global existence, uniqueness and stability of solutions for systems with small initial data in critical Besov spaces. Systems of differential equations of the form
with a homeomorphism of the ball are considered, under various boundary conditions on a compact interval [0, T]. For non-homogeneous Cauchy, terminal and some Sturm–Liouville boundary conditions including in particular the Dirichlet–Neumann and Neumann–Dirichlet conditions, existence of a solution is proved for arbitrary continuous right-hand sides f. For Neumann boundary conditions, some restrictions upon f are required, although, for Dirichlet boundary conditions, the restrictions are only upon and the boundary values. For periodic boundary conditions, both and f have to be suitably restricted. All the boundary value problems considered are reduced to finding a fixed point for a suitable operator in a space of functions, and the Schauder fixed point theorem or Leray–Schauder degree are used. In the present paper, a Lotka–Volterra type mutualism system with several delays is studied. Some new and interesting sufficient conditions are obtained for the global existence of positive periodic solutions of the mutualism system. Our method is based on Mawhin’s coincidence degree and novel estimation techniques for the a priori bounds of unknown solutions. Our results are different from the existing ones such as those in of Yang et al. [F. Yang, D. Jiang, A. Ying, Existence of positive solution of multidelays facultative mutualism system, J. Eng. This paper is concerned with the mathematical modelling of complex interactions between plant species in a harsh environment such as in the arctic. The aim of the paper is to consider whether interactions between the species change in character as environments change. For example, if the effect of climate change is to make harsh climates more benign, will this imply changes in the way species interact and affect biodiversity?We consider the interaction of two species of grass. Our model is constructed based on the notion of a summer season when the plants grow, followed by a winter season when there is no growth but when the plants are subject to the effects of events such as winter storms. Our aim is to investigate changes when the summer season is lengthened, when the climate becomes more benign, when the susceptibility of plants to damage as a result of storms is increased, and when the intensity (and number) of winter storms is varied. The models we consider provide new insights into the known behaviour of plant species interactions in such situations and a basis for further modelling and prediction.  相似文献

We consider an isotropic dielectric with a nonlinear refractive index. The medium may be inhomogeneous but its spatial variation has an axial symmetry. We characterize all monochromatic axi-symmetric travelling waves as solution of a system of six second order differential equations on (0, ). Boundary conditions at 0 ensure the regularity of the fields on the axis. Guided waves satisfy additional conditions at .
