We study a priori estimates of positive solutions of the equation tuΔu=λu+a(x)up, xΩ, t>0, satisfying the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. Here Ω is a bounded domain in Rn, λR, p>1 is subcritical, changes sign and a,p satisfy some additional technical hypotheses. Assume that the solution u blows up in a finite time T and the set is connected. Using our a priori bounds, we show that u blows up completely in Ω+ at t=T and the blow-up time T depends continuously on the initial data.  相似文献

It is well known that the biharmonic equation Δ2u=u|u|p−1 with p∈(1,∞) has positive solutions on Rn if and only if the growth of the nonlinearity is critical or supercritical. We close a gap in the existing literature by proving the existence and uniqueness, up to scaling and symmetry, of oscillatory radial solutions on Rn in the subcritical case. Analyzing the nodal properties of these solutions, we also obtain precise information about sign-changing large radial solutions and radial solutions of the Dirichlet problem on a ball.  相似文献

We deal with the equations Δpu+f(u)=0 and Δpu+(p−1)g(u)p|∇u|+f(u)=0 in RN, where g(t) is a continuous function in (0,∞), p>1 and f(t) is a smooth function for t>0. Under appropriate conditions on g and f we show that the corresponding equation cannot have nontrivial non-negative entire solutions.  相似文献

Multiple solutions of some boundary value problems with parameters   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper, we study the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for the following second-order Dirichlet nonlinear boundary value problem with odd order derivative: −u(t)+au(t)+bu(t)=f(t,u(t)) for all t∈[0,1] with u(0)=u(1)=0, where a,bR1, fC1([0,1]×R1,R1). By using the Morse theory, we impose certain conditions on f which are able to guarantee that the problem has at least one nontrivial solution, two nontrivial solutions and infinitely many solutions, separately.  相似文献

We consider the semilinear parabolic equation ut=Δu+uput=Δu+up on RNRN, where the power nonlinearity is subcritical. We first address the question of existence of entire solutions, that is, solutions defined for all x∈RNxRN and t∈RtR. Our main result asserts that there are no positive radially symmetric bounded entire solutions. Then we consider radial solutions of the Cauchy problem. We show that if such a solution is global, that is, defined for all t?0t?0, then it necessarily converges to 0, as t→∞t, uniformly with respect to x∈RNxRN.  相似文献

We study the Cauchy problem for the nonlinear heat equation ut-?u=|u|p-1u in RN. The initial data is of the form u0=λ?, where ?C0(RN) is fixed and λ>0. We first take 1<p<pf, where pf is the Fujita critical exponent, and ?C0(RN)∩L1(RN) with nonzero mean. We show that u(t) blows up for λ small, extending the H. Fujita blowup result for sign-changing solutions. Next, we consider 1<p<ps, where ps is the Sobolev critical exponent, and ?(x) decaying as |x|-σ at infinity, where p<1+2/σ. We also prove that u(t) blows up when λ is small, extending a result of T. Lee and W. Ni. For both cases, the solution enjoys some stable blowup properties. For example, there is single point blowup even if ? is not radial.  相似文献

In previous papers we considered the Cauchy problem for the one-dimensional evolution p-Laplacian equation for nonzero, bounded, and nonnegative initial data having compact support, and showed that after a finite time the set of spatial critical points of the nonnegative solution u=u(xt) in {u>0} consists of one point, the spatial maximum point of u, and the curve of the spatial maximum points is continuous with respect to the time variable. Since the spatial derivative ∂xu satisfies the porous medium equation with sign changes, the curve of the spatial maximum points is regarded as an interface with sign changes of ∂xu. On the other hand, in a paper by M. Bertsch and D. Hilhorst (1991, Appl. Anal.41, 111-130) the interfaces where the solutions change their sign were studied in detail for the initial-boundary value problems of the generalized porous medium equation over two-dimensional cylinders. But the monotonicity of the initial data is assumed there. As is noted in Section 4 of our earlier work (1996, J. Math. Anal. Appl.203, 78-103), the monotonicity of ∂xu(?, t) in some neighborhood of the spatial maximum point of u(?, t) cannot be assumed, and therefore, if this monotonicity for some large t>0 is proved, then by the method of Bertsch and Hilhorst (cited above) one may get more precise regularity properties of the curve of the spatial maximum points. The purpose of the present paper is twofold. One is to remove some monotonicity assumption for initial data in Bertsch and Hilhorst's theorem concerning the regularity of the interfaces with sign changes of solutions of the one-dimensional generalized porous medium equation. By comparing the solution with appropriate symmetric nonnegative solutions we shall get the monotonicity of the solution near the interface after a finite time. The other is as a by-product of the method to get C1 regularity of the curves of the spatial maximum points of nonnegative solutions of the Cauchy problem for the evolution p-Laplacian equation for sufficiently large t.  相似文献

The existence of local (in time) solutions of the initial-boundary value problem for the following degenerate parabolic equation: ut(x,t)−Δpu(x,t)−|u|q−2u(x,t)=f(x,t), (x,t)∈Ω×(0,T), where 2?p<q<+∞, Ω is a bounded domain in RN, is given and Δp denotes the so-called p-Laplacian defined by Δpu:=∇⋅(|∇u|p−2u), with initial data u0Lr(Ω) is proved under r>N(qp)/p without imposing any smallness on u0 and f. To this end, the above problem is reduced into the Cauchy problem for an evolution equation governed by the difference of two subdifferential operators in a reflexive Banach space, and the theory of subdifferential operators and potential well method are employed to establish energy estimates. Particularly, Lr-estimates of solutions play a crucial role to construct a time-local solution and reveal the dependence of the time interval [0,T0] in which the problem admits a solution. More precisely, T0 depends only on Lr|u0| and f.  相似文献

We establish a result concerning the existence of entire, positive, classical and bounded solutions which converge to zero at infinity for the semi-linear equation −Δu=λf(x,u),xRN, where f:RN×(0,)→[0,) is a suitable function and λ>0 is a real parameter. This result completes the principal theorem of A. Mohammed [A. Mohammed, Ground state solutions for singular semi-linear elliptic equations, Nonlinear Analysis (2008) doi:10.1016/j.na.2008.11.080] mainly because his result does not address the super-linear terms at infinity. Penalty arguments, lower-upper solutions and an approximation procedure will be used.  相似文献

We investigate the existence of nonnegative weak solutions to the problem ut=Δ(um)−p|∇u| in Rn×(0,∞) with +(1−2/n)<m<1. It will be proved that: (i) When 1<p<2, if the initial datum u0D(Rn) then there exists a solution; (ii) When 1<p<(2+mn)/(n+1), if the initial datum u0(x) is a bounded and nonnegative measure then the solution exists; (iii) When (2+mn)/(n+1)?p<2, if the initial datum is a Dirac mass then the solution does not exist. We also study the large time behavior of the L1-norm of solutions for 1<p?(2+mn)/(n+1), and the large time behavior of t1/βu(⋅,t)−Ec(⋅,t)L for (2+mn)/(n+1)<p<2.  相似文献

In this paper a porous medium equation with a moving localized source ut=uru+af(u(x0(t),t))) is considered. It is shown that under certain conditions solutions of the above equation blow up in finite time for large a or large initial data while there exist global positive solutions to the above equation for small a or small initial data. Moreover, in one space dimension case, it is also shown that all global positive solutions of the above equation are uniformly bounded, and this differs from that of a porous medium equation with a local source.  相似文献

In this paper we study the large time behavior of non-negative solutions to the Cauchy problem of utumuq in RN×(0,∞), where m>1 and q=qcm+2/N is a critical exponent. For non-negative initial value u(x,0)=u0(x)∈L1(RN), we show that the solution converges, if u0(x)(1+|x|)k is bounded for some k>N, to a unique fundamental solution of utum, independent of the initial value, with additional logarithmic anomalous decay exponent in time as t→∞.  相似文献

We consider entire solutions of ut=uxx-f(u), i.e. solutions that exist for all (x,t)∈R2, where f(0)=f(1)=0<f(0). In particular, we are interested in the entire solutions which behave as two opposite wave fronts of positive speed(s) approaching each other from both sides of the x-axis and then annihilating in a finite time. In the case f(1)>0, we show that such entire solution exists and is unique up to space-time translations. In the case f(1)<0, we derive two families of such entire solutions. In the first family, one cannot be any space-time translation of the other. Yet all entire solutions in the second family only differ by a space-time translation.  相似文献

We calculate the full asymptotic expansion of boundary blow-up solutions (see Eq. (1) below), for any nonlinearity f. Our approach enables us to state sharp qualitative results regarding uniqueness and radial symmetry of solutions, as well as a characterization of nonlinearities for which the blow-up rate is universal. Lastly, we study in more detail the standard nonlinearities f(u)=up, p>1.  相似文献

In this paper we study the generalized Burgers equation ut+(u2/2)x=f(t)uxx, where f(t)>0 for t>0. We show the existence and uniqueness of classical solutions to the initial value problem of the generalized Burgers equation with rough initial data belonging to , as well it is obtained the decay rates of u in Lp norm are algebra order for p∈[1,∞[.  相似文献

We apply the Five Functionals Fixed Point Theorem to verify the existence of at least three positive pseudo-symmetric solutions for the three point boundary value problem, (g(u′))′+a(t)f(u)=0, u(0)=0, and u(ν)=u(1), where g(v)=|v|p−2v, with p>1 and ν∈(0,1).  相似文献

In this note, we investigate the regularity of the extremal solution u? for the semilinear elliptic equation −△u+c(x)⋅∇u=λf(u) on a bounded smooth domain of Rn with Dirichlet boundary condition. Here f is a positive nondecreasing convex function, exploding at a finite value a∈(0,∞). We show that the extremal solution is regular in the low-dimensional case. In particular, we prove that for the radial case, all extremal solutions are regular in dimension two.  相似文献
