Although, bifurcation theory of ordinary differential equations with autonomous and periodic time dependence is a major object of research in the study of dynamical systems since decades, the notion of a nonautonomous bifurcation is not yet established. In this article, two different approaches are discussed which are based on special notions of attractivity and repulsivity. Generalizations of the well-known one-dimensional transcritical and pitchfork bifurcation are obtained.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the asymptotic behavior of positive solutions of nonautonomous and random competitive Kolmogorov systems via the skew-product flows approach. It is shown that there exists an unordered carrying simplex which attracts all nontrivial positive orbits of the skew-product flow associated with a nonautonomous (random) competitive Kolmogorov system.  相似文献

Hyperbolicity of an autonomous rest point is characterised by its linearization not having eigenvalues on the imaginary axis. More generally, hyperbolicity of any solution which exists for all times can be defined by means of Lyapunov exponents or exponential dichotomies. We go one step further and introduce a meaningful notion of hyperbolicity for linear systems which are defined for finite time only, i.e. on a compact time interval. Hyperbolicity now describes the transient dynamics on that interval. In this framework, we provide a definition of finite-time spectrum, study its relations with classical concepts, and prove an analogue of the Sacker-Sell spectral theorem: For a d-dimensional system the spectrum is non-empty and consists of at most d disjoint (and often compact) intervals. An example illustrates that the corresponding spectral manifolds may not be unique, which in turn leads to several challenging questions.  相似文献

We consider nonautonomous ordinary differential equations v=A(t)v in Banach spaces and, under fairly general assumptions, we show that for any sufficiently small perturbation f there exists a stable invariant manifold for the perturbed equation v=A(t)v+f(t,v), which corresponds to the set of negative Lyapunov exponents of the original linear equation. The main assumption is the existence of a nonuniform exponential dichotomy with a small nonuniformity, i.e., a small deviation from the classical notion of (uniform) exponential dichotomy. In fact, we showed that essentially any linear equation v=A(t)v admits a nonuniform exponential dichotomy and thus, the above assumption only concerns the smallness of the nonuniformity of the dichotomy. This smallness is a rather common phenomenon at least from the point of view of ergodic theory: almost all linear variational equations obtained from a measure-preserving flow admit a nonuniform exponential dichotomy with arbitrarily small nonuniformity. We emphasize that we do not need to assume the existence of a uniform exponential dichotomy and that we never require the nonuniformity to be arbitrarily small, only sufficiently small. Our approach is related to the notion of Lyapunov regularity, which goes back to Lyapunov himself although it is apparently somewhat forgotten today in the theory of differential equations.  相似文献

The so-called noose bifurcation is an interesting structure of reversible periodic orbits that was numerically detected by Kent and Elgin in the well-known Michelson system. In this work we perform an analysis of the periodic behavior of a piecewise version of the Michelson system where this bifurcation also exists. This variant is a one-parameter three-dimensional piecewise linear continuous system with two zones separated by a plane and it is also a representative of a wide class of reversible divergence-free systems.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the chaotic behavior of ordinary differential equations with a homoclinic orbit to a saddle fixed point under an unbounded random forcing driven by a Brownian motion. We prove that, for almost all sample paths of the Brownian motion in the classical Wiener space, the forced equation admits a topological horseshoe of infinitely many branches. Given a functional differential equation with a discontinuity, a construction of its extension in the shape of a functional differential inclusion is offered. This construction can be regarded as a generalization of the famous Filippov approach to study ordinary differential equations with discontinuities. Some basic properties of the solutions of the introduced functional differential inclusions are studied. In this paper, we define a relative Morse index for two continuous symmetric matrices paths in R2n satisfying condition (B1) and study its relation with the Maslov-type indices under brake orbit boundary value of these two symmetric matrices paths. Borg’s criterion is used to prove the existence of an exponentially asymptotically stable periodic orbit of an autonomous differential equation and to determine its domain of attraction. In this article, this method is generalized to almost periodic differential equations. Both sufficient and necessary conditions are obtained for the existence of an exponentially stable almost periodic solution. Let the equation be periodic in time, and let the equilibrium x≡0 be a periodic minimizer. If it is hyperbolic, then the set of asymptotic solutions is a smooth curve in the plane ; this is stated by the Stable Manifold Theorem. The result can be extended to nonhyperbolic minimizers provided only that they are isolated and the equation is analytic (Ureña, 2007 [6]). In this paper we provide an example showing that one cannot say the same for C2 equations. Our example is pathological both in a global sense (the global stable manifold is not arcwise connected), and in a local sense (the local stable manifolds are not locally connected and have points which are not accessible from the exterior).  相似文献

This paper studies the existence and uniqueness of exponentially stable almost periodic solutions for abstract impulsive differential equations in Banach space.
