Extremal solutions of the equations are characterized in terms of infinite products of independent random variables. We deal with the existence of positive solutions u decaying to zero at infinity, for a class of equations of Lane-Emden-Fowler type involving a gradient term. One of the main points is that the differential equation contains a semilinear term σ(u) where σ:(0,)→(0,) is a smooth function which can be both unbounded at infinity and singular at zero. Our technique explores symmetry arguments as well as lower and upper solutions.  相似文献

The Ginzburg-Landau-Allen-Cahn equation is a variational model for phase coexistence and for other physical problems. It contains a term given by a kinetic part of elliptic type plus a double-well potential. We assume that the functional depends on the space variables in a periodic way.We show that given a plane with rational normal, there are minimal solutions, satisfying the following properties. These solutions are asymptotic to the pure phases and are separated by an interface. The convergence to the pure phases is exponentially fast. The interface lies at a finite distance M from the chosen plane, where M is a universal constant. Furthermore, these solutions satisfy some monotonicity properties with respect to integer translations (namely, integer translations are always comparable to the function).We then show that all the interfaces of the global periodic minimizers satisfy similar monotonicity and plane-like properties.We also consider the case of possibly irrationally oriented planes. We show that either there is a one parameter family of minimizers whose graphs provide a field of extremals or there are at least two solutions, one which is a minimizer and another one which is not. These solutions also have interfaces bounded by a universal constant, they enjoy monotonicity properties with respect to integer translations and the nonminimal solutions are trapped inside a gap of the lamination induced by the minimizers.  相似文献

We consider the Dirichlet problem for a class of fully nonlinear elliptic equations on a bounded domain Ω. We assume that Ω is symmetric about a hyperplane H and convex in the direction perpendicular to H. By a well-known result of Gidas, Ni and Nirenberg and its generalizations, all positive solutions are reflectionally symmetric about H and decreasing away from the hyperplane in the direction orthogonal to H. For nonnegative solutions, this result is not always true. We show that, nonetheless, the symmetry part of the result remains valid for nonnegative solutions: any nonnegative solution u is symmetric about H  . Moreover, we prove that if u?0u?0, then the nodal set of u divides the domain Ω into a finite number of reflectionally symmetric subdomains in which u has the usual Gidas–Ni–Nirenberg symmetry and monotonicity properties. We also show several examples of nonnegative solutions with a nonempty interior nodal set.  相似文献

In this paper, we obtain a characterization of invariant measures of stochastic evolution equations and stochastic partial differential equations of pure jump type. We prove uniqueness of positive radial solutions to the semilinear elliptic equation , subject to the Dirichlet boundary condition on an annulus in . In this paper we define time dependent parabolic Reifenberg domains and study Lp estimates for weak solutions of uniformly parabolic equations in divergence form on these domains. The basic assumption is that the principal coefficients are of parabolic BMO space with small parabolic BMO seminorms. We study optimal W2,p-regularity for fourth-order parabolic equations with discontinuous coefficients in general domains. We obtain the global W2,p-regularity for each 1<p<∞ under the assumption that the coefficients have suitably small BMO semi-norm of weak type and the boundary of the domain is δ-Reifenberg flat. In this paper we obtain a new global gradient estimates in weighted Lorentz spaces for weak solutions of p(x)p(x)-Laplacian type equation with small BMO coefficients in a δ-Reifenberg flat domain. The modified Vitali covering lemma, the maximal function technique and the appropriate localization method are the main analytical tools. We establish optimal gradient estimates in Orlicz space for a nonhomogeneous elliptic equation of higher order with discontinuous coefficients on a nonsmooth domain. Our assumption is that for each point and for each sufficiently small scale the coefficients have small mean oscillation and the boundary of the domain is sufficiently close to a hyperplane. As a consequence we prove the classical Wm,p, m=1,2,…, 1<p<∞, estimates for such a higher order equation. Our results easily extend to higher order elliptic and parabolic systems.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for systems of semilinear hyperbolic equations. Using the LpLq type estimation for the corresponding linear parts, the existence and uniqueness of weak global solutions are investigated. We also established the behavior of solutions and their derivatives as t→+. Using the method of test functions developed in the works (Mitidieri and Pokhozhaev, 2001 [11], Veron and Pohozaev, 2001 [12] and Caristi, 2000 [23]) we obtain the analogue of the Fujita-Hayakawa type criterion for the absence of global solutions to some system of semilinear hyperbolic inequalities with damping. It follows that the conditions of existence theorem imposed on the growth of nonlinear parts are exact in some sense.  相似文献

By the Mountain Pass Theorem and the constrained minimization method existence of positive or compactly supported radial ground states for quasilinear singular elliptic equations with weights are established. The paper also includes the discussion of regularity and the validity of useful qualitative properties of the solutions, which seems of independent interest.
