A construction of all homomorphisms of an algebra with a finite number of operations into an algebra of the same type is presented that consists in replacing algebras by suitable mono-unary algebras (possibly with some nullary operations) and their homomorphisms by suitable homomorphisms of the corresponding mono-unary algebras. Since a construction of all homomorphisms between two mono-unary algebras is known (see, e.g., [6], [7], [8]), a construction of all homomorphisms of an arbitrary algebra with a finite number of operations into an algebra of the same type can be described.  相似文献

We show that two module homomorphisms for groups and Lie algebras established by Xi can be generalized to the setting of quasi-triangular Hopf algebras. These module homomorphisms played a key role in his proof of a conjecture of Yau (1998). They will also be useful in the problem of decomposition of tensor products of modules. Additionally, we give another generalization of result of Xi in terms of Chevalley-Eilenberg complex.  相似文献

We show that a theorem of Kisynski on the generation of Banach-algebra homomorphisms of certain convolution algebras is equivalent to the Hille-Yosida theorem on the generation of operator-valued one-parameter semigroups.

We consider inductive sequences of Toeplitz algebras whose connecting homomorphisms are defined by collections of primes. The inductive limits of these sequences are C*-algebras generated by representations for semigroups of rationals. We study the limit endomorphisms of these C*-algebras induced by morphisms between copies of the same inductive sequences of Toeplitz algebras. We establish necessary and sufficient conditions for these endomorphisms to be automorphisms of the algebras.  相似文献

We investigate ways in which certain binary homomorphisms of a finite algebra can guarantee its dualisability. Of particular interest are those binary homomorphisms which are lattice, flat-semilattice or group operations. We prove that a finite algebra which has a pair of lattice operations amongst its binary homomorphisms is dualisable. As an application of this result, we find that every finite unary algebra can be embedded into a dualisable algebra. We develop some general tools which we use to prove the dualisability of a large number of unary algebras. For example, we show that the endomorphisms of a finite cyclic group are the operations of a dualisable unary algebra.  相似文献

In this paper some purely algebraic results are given concerning linear maps on algebras which preserve elements annihilated by a polynomial of degree greater than 1 and with no repeated roots and applied to linear maps on operator algebras such as standard operator algebras, von Neumann algebras and Banach algebras. Several results are obtained that characterize such linear maps in terms of homomorphisms, anti-homomorphisms, or, at least, Jordan homomorphisms.

The concept of implicit operation on pseudovarieties of semigroups goes back to Eilenberg and Schutzenberger [1]. The author in [2?C5] generalized this concept to other classes of algebras and established a connection between these operations and positively conditional termal functions in the case of uniform local finiteness of the algebras of the class in question. In this article we put forth the concept of an implicit operation for an arbitrary universal algebra, not necessarily locally finite, and establish a connection between these operations and infinite analogs of positively conditional terms, as well as ??-quasi-identities arising in the algebraic geometry of universal algebras. We also consider conditions for implicit equivalence of algebras to lattices, semilattices, and Boolean algebras.  相似文献

In this paper, we provide the structure of the Leavitt path algebra of a finite graph via some step-by-step process of source eliminations, and restate Kanuni and Özaydin's nice criterion for Leavitt path algebras of finite graphs having Invariant Basis Number via matrix-theoretic language. Consequently, we give a matrix-theoretic criterion for the Leavitt path algebra of a finite graph having Invariant Basis Number in terms of a sequence of source eliminations. Using these results, we show certain classes of finite graphs for which Leavitt path algebras have Invariant Basis Number, as well as investigate the Invariant Basis Number property of Leavitt path algebras of certain Cayley graphs of finite groups.  相似文献

Modes are idempotent and entropic algebras. While the mode structure of sets of submodes has received considerable attention in the past, this paper is devoted to the study of mode structure on sets of mode homomorphisms. Connections between the two constructions are established. A detailed analysis is given for the algebra of homomorphisms from submodes of one mode to submodes of another. In particular, it is shown that such algebras can be decomposed as P?onka sums of more elementary homomorphism algebras. Some critical examples are examined.  相似文献

A construction of all homomorphisms of a heterogeneous algebra into an algebra of the same type is presented. A relational structure is assigned to any heterogeneous algebra, and homomorphisms between these relational structures make it possible to construct homomorphisms between heterogeneous algebras. We call a class of algebras a finitary prevariety if the class is closed under the formation of subalgebras and finitary direct products, and contains the one-element algebra. The join of two finitary prevarieties and a concept of a join-irreducible finitary prevariety may be introduced naturally. We develop techniques for proving that a finitary prevariety of semigroups is join-irreducible, and find many examples of join-irreducible finitary prevarieties of semigroups. For example, we prove that if a class of finite semigroups is defined by ω-identities and contains the class J, then it is a join-irreducible finitary prevariety.  相似文献

This paper explores several applications of Möbius functions to the representation theory of finite semigroups. We extend Solomon's approach to the semigroup algebra of a finite semilattice via Möbius functions to arbitrary finite inverse semigroups. This allows us to explicitly calculate the orthogonal central idempotents decomposing an inverse semigroup algebra into a direct product of matrix algebras over group rings. We also extend work of Bidigare, Hanlon, Rockmore and Brown on calculating eigenvalues of random walks associated to certain classes of finite semigroups; again Möbius functions play an important role.  相似文献

We study algebraic properties of the Brandt λ 0-extensions of monoids with zero and non-trivial homomorphisms between the Brandt λ 0-extensions of monoids with zero. We introduce finite, compact topological Brandt λ 0-extensions of topological semigroups and countably compact topological Brandt λ 0-extensions of topological inverse semigroups in the class of topological inverse semigroups and establish the structure of such extensions and non-trivial continuous homomorphisms between such topological Brandt λ 0-extensions of topological monoids with zero. We also describe a category whose objects are ingredients in the constructions of finite (compact, countably compact) topological Brandt λ 0-extensions of topological monoids with zeros.  相似文献

In this article we introduce the concept of a generalised existence variety of regular semigroups. This concept is analogous to that of a generalised variety of algebras of fixed finite type. We show that for regular semigroups that are E-solid or locally inverse, generalised existence varieties provide a link between e-varieties and e-pseudovarieties. Other results concerning e-varieties and e-pseudovarieties can then be obtained.  相似文献
