The interval graph completion problem on a graph G is to find an added edge set F such that G + F is an interval supergraph with the smallest possible number of edges. The problem has important applications to numerical algebra, V LSI-layout and algorithm graph theory etc; And it has been known to be N P-complete on general graphs. Some classes of special graphs have been investigated in the literatures. In this paper the interval graph completion problem on split graphs is investigated.  相似文献

The interval graph completion problem of a graph G includes two class problems: the profile problem and the pathwidth problem, denoted as P(G) and PW(G) respectively, where the profile problem is to find an interval supergraph with the smallest possible number of edges; the pathwidth problem is to find an interval supergraph with the smallest possible cliquesize. These two class problems have important applications to numerical algebra, VLSI-layout and algorithm graph theory respectively; And they are known to be NP-complete for general graphs. Some classes of special graphs have been investigated in the literatures. In this paper the exact solutions of the profile and the pathwidth of the complete multipartite Graph Kn1,n2,…,nr(r≥2) are determined.  相似文献

The orientation completion problem for a fixed class of oriented graphs asks whether a given partially oriented graph can be completed to an oriented graph in the class. Orientation completion problems have been studied recently for several classes of oriented graphs, including local tournaments. Local tournaments are intimately related to proper circular-arc graphs and proper interval graphs. In particular, proper interval graphs are precisely those which can be oriented as acyclic local tournaments. In this paper we determine all obstructions for acyclic local tournament orientation completions. These are in a sense minimal partially oriented graphs that cannot be completed to acyclic local tournaments. Our results imply that a polynomial time certifying algorithm exists for the acyclic local tournament orientation completion problem.  相似文献

This article introduces the concept of a very large subgroup in the theory of lattice-ordered groups. The existence of a minimal very large subgroup is connected to some previously known structure theory, but it is also linked to conditions not studied before. Very large subgroups are useful in studying torsion and radical classes, and among other things, extension of lattice-ordered groups using very large kernels yields an intriguing completion operation for torsion classes. In the final section there is a new contruction which produces a lattice-ordered group in which every value is essential, having no special values.  相似文献

The imbedding problem with Abelian kernel in the Galois theory of commutative rings is considered. 本文考虑下述由多工类工件组成的订单的单机排序问题:每一个客户提供一个由若干工件组成的订单,总共n个工件又分成k个类.当机器从加工某类中的工件转向加工不同于它的第i类工件时,需一调整时间si.每一订单有一给定的应交工时间,订单的完工时间定义为该定单所含全部工件完工时的时间.我们希望适当排列这n个工件,使得订单的迟后范围最小.相应这一排序问题,文中依不同的背景给出了以下二种模式:同类工件一起连续加工,工件的完工时间为其所属类中全部工件完工时的时间,用GT,Ba来表示;同类工件一起连续加工,工件的完工时间为其本身的完工时间,用GT,Ja来表示.对于这两种模式的排序同题,我们均证明了其NP-hard性并给出了对应的分枝定界算法.  相似文献

The paper deals with the theory of space mappings. For a generalization of quasiregular mappings important for the investigation of the Sobolev and other known classes of mappings, we propose a simple condition satisfied by all mappings of this kind and only by these mappings. On the basis of conditions of divergence of the integrals, we establish sufficient conditions for the normality of the families of the analyzed classes of mappings and solve the problem of removing isolated singularities. Some applications of the obtained results to mappings from the Sobolev class are discussed.  相似文献

In this paper we present a robust duality theory for generalized convex programming problems in the face of data uncertainty within the framework of robust optimization. We establish robust strong duality for an uncertain nonlinear programming primal problem and its uncertain Lagrangian dual by showing strong duality between the deterministic counterparts: robust counterpart of the primal model and the optimistic counterpart of its dual problem. A robust strong duality theorem is given whenever the Lagrangian function is convex. We provide classes of uncertain non-convex programming problems for which robust strong duality holds under a constraint qualification. In particular, we show that robust strong duality is guaranteed for non-convex quadratic programming problems with a single quadratic constraint with the spectral norm uncertainty under a generalized Slater condition. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the nature of robust duality for uncertain nonlinear programming problems. We further show that robust duality continues to hold under a weakened convexity condition.  相似文献

Relations between the problems are developed by examining the computational complexity of transforming one problem class into another. In this paper an n-job one-machine scheduling problem is considered, in which the machine capacity is time-dependent and jobs are characterized by their work content. The objective is to minimize the sum of weighted completion times. A necessary optimality condition is presented and we discuss some special cases where this condition is also sufficient. We prove that the problem is NP-complete. A branch-and-bound algorithm is developed for the case when the capacity function is a step function. This paper considers a discrete-time Geo X /G/1 queue accepting two classes of messages with preemptive repeat different priority. Service times of messages of each priority class are i.i.d. according to a general discrete distribution function that may differ between two classes. The completion time and the stability condition for our system are investigated. By means of the order structure of the related lattice, the LIMINF condition of fuzzy convergence classes is proposed in this paper, which reflects the essential difference between fuzzy convergence classes and ordinary convergence classes. The relationship between the LIMINF condition and two related conditions proposed by Liu and Wang respectively are discussed. The theory of fuzzy convergence classes based on LIMINF condition is established for topological molecular lattices, L-topological spaces (in the sense of Chang or Lowen), weakly induced spaces, and induced spaces.  相似文献

We initiate a general study of what we call orientation completion problems. For a fixed class of oriented graphs, the orientation completion problem asks whether a given partially oriented graph P can be completed to an oriented graph in by orienting the (nonoriented) edges in P. Orientation completion problems commonly generalize several existing problems including recognition of certain classes of graphs and digraphs as well as extending representations of certain geometrically representable graphs. We study orientation completion problems for various classes of oriented graphs, including k‐arc‐strong oriented graphs, k‐strong oriented graphs, quasi‐transitive‐oriented graphs, local tournaments, acyclic local tournaments, locally transitive tournaments, locally transitive local tournaments, in‐tournaments, and oriented graphs that have directed cycle factors. We show that the orientation completion problem for each of these classes is either polynomial time solvable or NP‐complete. We also show that some of the NP‐complete problems become polynomial time solvable when the input‐oriented graphs satisfy certain extra conditions. Our results imply that the representation extension problems for proper interval graphs and for proper circular arc graphs are polynomial time solvable. We consider a bilevel programming problem in Banach spaces whose lower level solution is unique for any choice of the upper level variable. A condition is presented which ensures that the lower level solution mapping is directionally differentiable, and a formula is constructed which can be used to compute this directional derivative. Afterwards, we apply these results in order to obtain first-order necessary optimality conditions for the bilevel programming problem. It is shown that these optimality conditions imply that a certain mathematical program with complementarity constraints in Banach spaces has the optimal solution zero. We state the weak and strong stationarity conditions of this problem as well as corresponding constraint qualifications in order to derive applicable necessary optimality conditions for the original bilevel programming problem. Finally, we use the theory to state new necessary optimality conditions for certain classes of semidefinite bilevel programming problems and present an example in terms of bilevel optimal control.  相似文献

The time-cost trade-off problem is a specific type of the project scheduling problem which studies how to modify project activities so as to achieve the trade-off between the completion time and the project cost. In real projects, the trade-off between the project cost and the completion time, and the uncertainty of the environment are both considerable aspects for managers. In this paper, three new fuzzy time-cost trade-off models are proposed, in which credibility theory is applied to describe the uncertainty of activity duration times. A searching method by integrating fuzzy simulation and genetic algorithm is produced to search the quasi-optimal schedules under some decision-making criteria. The purpose of the paper is to reveal how to obtain the optimal balance of the completion time and the project cost in fuzzy environments.  相似文献

The domination relationship between non-negative distributions is an important question in applied probability. It has important applications in the fields of finance, insurance and risk theory. In this paper, based on class ℳ, we find the sufficient condition of dominating all light-tailed distributions and also discuss its necessity.
