We compute the right and left democracy functions of admissible wavelet bases in variable Lebesgue spaces defined on \(\mathbb R^n\). As an application we give Lebesgue type inequalities for these wavelet bases. We also show that our techniques can be easily modified to prove analogous results for weighted variable Lebesgue spaces and variable exponent Triebel–Lizorkin spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we obtain a wavelet representation in (inhomogeneous) Besov spaces of generalized smoothness via interpolation techniques. As consequence, we show that compactly supported wavelets of Daubechies type provide an unconditional Schauder basis in these spaces when the integrability parameters are finite.  相似文献

We study Lebesgue and Atsuji spaces within subsystems of second order arithmetic. The former spaces are those such that every open covering has a Lebesgue number, while the latter are those such that every continuous function defined on them is uniformly continuous. The main results we obtain are the following: the statement “every compact space is Lebesgue” is equivalent to ; the statements “every perfect Lebesgue space is compact” and “every perfect Atsuji space is compact” are equivalent to ; the statement “every Lebesgue space is Atsuji” is provable in ; the statement “every Atsuji space is Lebesgue” is provable in . We also prove that the statement “the distance from a closed set is a continuous function” is equivalent to . Received: February 2, 1996  相似文献

We point out that the well known characterization of spaces () in terms of orthogonal wavelet bases extends to any separable rearrangement invariant Banach function space on (equipped with Lebesgue measure) with nontrivial Boyd's indices. Moreover we show that such bases are unconditional bases of .

This paper deals with wavelet frames (para-bases), local polynomial reproducing formulas, and sampling numbers in function spaces on arbitrary and on E-thick domains in Euclidean n-space. In an Appendix we collect some recent instruments for corresponding function spaces on Euclidean n-space.  相似文献

Approximation lattices occur in a natural way in the study of rational approximations to p-adic numbers. Periodicity of a sequence of approximation lattices is shown to occur for rational and quadratic p-adic numbers, and for those only, thus establishing a p-adic analogue of Lagrange's theorem on periodic continued fractions. Using approximation lattices we derive upper and lower bounds for the best approximations to a p-adic number, thus establishing the p-adic analogue of a theorem of Hurwitz.  相似文献

We consider generalized potential operators with the kernel on bounded quasimetric measure space (X, μ, d) with doubling measure μ satisfying the upper growth condition μB(x, r) ? KrN, N ∈ (0, ∞). Under some natural assumptions on a(r) in terms of almost monotonicity we prove that such potential operators are bounded from the variable exponent Lebesgue space Lp(?)(X, μ) into a certain Musielak‐Orlicz space Lp(X, μ) with the N‐function Φ(x, r) defined by the exponent p(x) and the function a(r). A reformulation of the obtained result in terms of the Matuszewska‐Orlicz indices of the function a(r) is also given. © 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim  相似文献

We consider the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator M on Musielak-Orlicz Spaces Lφ(Rd). We give a necessary condition for the continuity of M on Lφ(Rd) which generalizes the concept of Muckenhoupt classes. In the special case of generalized Lebesgue spaces Lp(⋅)(Rd) we show that this condition is also sufficient. Moreover, we show that the condition is “left-open” in the sense that not only M but also Mq is continuous for some q>1, where .  相似文献

In this paper we consider the k‐plane Nikodym maximal estimates in the variable Lebesgue spaces . We first formulate the problem about the boundedness of the k‐plane Nikodym maximal and show that the maximal estimate in is equivalent to that in for . So, the optimal Nikodym maximal estimate in follows from Cordoba's estimate.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the boundedness of the Hausdorff operator H_? on the real line R. First, we start with an easy case by establishing the boundedness of the Hausdorff operator on the Lebesgue space L~p(R)and the Hardy space H~1(R). The key idea is to reformulate H_? as a Calder′on-Zygmund convolution operator, from which its boundedness is proved by verifying the Hrmander condition of the convolution kernel. Secondly,to prove the boundedness on the Hardy space H~p(R) with 0 p 1, we rewrite the Hausdorff operator as a singular integral operator with the non-convolution kernel. This novel reformulation, in combination with the Taibleson-Weiss molecular characterization of H~p(R) spaces, enables us to obtain the desired results. Those results significantly extend the known boundedness of the Hausdorff operator on H~1(R).  相似文献

We study boundedness and compactness properties for the Weyl quantization with symbols in Lq (?2d ) acting on Lp (?d ). This is shown to be equivalent, in suitable Banach space setting, to that of the Wigner transform. We give a short proof by interpolation of Lieb's sufficient conditions for the boundedness of the Wigner transform, proving furthermore that these conditions are also necessary. This yields a complete characterization of boundedness for Weyl operators in Lp setting; compactness follows by approximation. We extend these results defining two scales of spaces, namely L*q (?2d ) and L?q (R2d ), respectively smaller and larger than the Lq (?2d ),and showing that the Weyl correspondence is bounded on L*q (R2d ) (and yields compact operators), whereas it is not on L?q (R2d ). We conclude with a remark on weak‐type Lp boundedness (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

LetX be a Hausdorff zero-dimensional topological space,K(X) the algebra of all clopen subsets of X, E a Hausdorff locally convex space over a non-Archimedean valued field and C b (X) the space of all bounded continuous -valued functions on X. The space M(K(X),E), of all bounded finitely-additive measures m: K(X) → E, is investigated. If we equip C b (X) with the topologies β o , β, β u , τ b or β ob , it is shown that, for E (compete, the corresponding spaces of continuous linear operators from C b (X) to E (are algebraically isomorphic to certain subspaces of M(K(X),E). The approximation of p-adic numbers by algebraic numbers of bounded degree is studied. Results similar to those obtained by Wirsing and by Davenport and Schmidt in the real case are proved in the p-adic case. Unlike the real case the expected best exponent is not obtained when approximating by quadratic irrationals.  相似文献

We prove an Ergodic Theorem in variable exponent Lebesgue spaces, whenever the exponent is invariant under the transformation. Moreover, a counterexample is provided which shows that the norm convergence fails to hold for an arbitrary exponent.  相似文献
