We describe the modeling of the dynamics of renewing zone structure in biological tissues in the formalism of parameterized L-systems on an example of the shoot apical meristem. Under study is the influence of the ratio of the characteristic times of the cell cycle and diffusion of morphogens on the stability of some spatially distributed molecular-genetic control system. We show that cell division is a perturbing factor for the system regulating the renewing zone structure. Some conditions are found for the loss of stability of the regulation.  相似文献

In most multi-item inventory systems, the ordering costs consist of a major cost and a minor cost for each item included. Applying for every individual item a cyclic inventory policy, where the cycle length is a multiple of some basic cycle time, reduces the major ordering costs. An efficient algorithm to determine the optimal policy of this type is discussed in this paper. It is shown that this algorithm can be used for deterministic multi-item inventory problems, with general cost rate functions and possibly service level constraints, of which the well-known joint replenishment problem is a special case. Some useful results in determining the optimal control parameters are derived, and worked out for piecewise linear cost rate functions. Numerical results for this case show that the algorithm significantly outperforms other solution methods, both in the quality of the solution and in the running time.  相似文献

The method of Bayesian model discrimination is investigated for the possible contributions it may provide in the area of automatically forecasting the daily electricity demand cycle. A set of differing demand models have probabilities attached to them in such a way that these would be continuously updated with the available data and the actual forecasts obtained as expectations across all the models. Simulation experiments indicate significantly improved forecasting performance over a commonly used rescaling type of approach. Some practical issues in implementation are discussed.  相似文献

The zero-Hopf singularity of a Kaldor-Kalecki model of business cycle with delay in both the gross product and the capital stock is investigated. By computing the normal forms for the system, the bifurcation diagrams such as saddle-node, pitch-fork, and Hopf bifurcations are obtained. A major obstacle is to solve singular linear systems when the third order terms in the normal form are computed. Some examples are presented to confirm the theoretical results.  相似文献

We study the problem of the existence of limit cycles for a generalized Gause-type predator–prey model with functional and numerical responses that satisfy some general assumptions. These assumptions describe the effect of prey density on the consumption and reproduction rates of predator. The model is analyzed for the situation in which the conversion efficiency of prey into new predators increases as prey abundance increases. A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of limit cycles is given. It is shown that the existence of a limit cycle is equivalent to the instability of the unique positive critical point of the model. The results can be applied to the analysis of many models appearing in the ecological literature for predator–prey systems. Some ecological models are given to illustrate the results.  相似文献

A queueing system with nonidentical service channels, a regenerative input, and a renewal service process at each channel is considered. The ergodic conditions are found when the basic process describing the system (and including the queue-size and the waiting time vector) is regenerative with finite expectation of the regeneration cycle length. The asymptotic properties of the embedded renewal process of the regeneration points are used. The zero-delayed and delayed cases are considered separately. In this paper, complete analysis is presented to study codimension-2 bifurcations for the nonlinear Kaldor model of business cycle. Sufficient conditions are given for the model to demonstrate Bautin and Bogdanov–Takens (BT) bifurcations. By computing the first and second Lyapunov coefficients and performing nonlinear transformation, the normal forms are derived to obtain the bifurcation diagrams such as Hopf, homoclinic and double limit cycle bifurcations. Natural population, whose population numbers are small and generations are non-overlapping, can be modelled by difference equations that describe how the population evolve in discrete time-steps. This paper investigates a recent study on the dynamics complexities in a single-species discrete population model with stage structure and birth pulses. Using the stroboscopic map, we obtain an exact cycle of system, and obtain the threshold conditions for its stability. Above this, there is a characteristic sequence of bifurcations, leading to chaotic dynamics, which implies that this the dynamical behaviors of the single-species discrete model with birth pulses are very complex, including (a) non-unique dynamics, meaning that several attractors and chaos coexist; (b) small-amplitude annual oscillations; (c) large-amplitude multi-annual cycles; (d) chaos. Some interesting results are obtained and they showed that pulsing provides a natural period or cyclicity that allows for a period-doubling route to chaos.  相似文献

This paper considers the limit cycle bifurcation problem of planar piecewise differential systems with three zones. Some computation formulas studied the problem of limit cycle bifurcations are provided by introducing multiple parameters. As an application to the obtained method, the number of limit cycles of a piecewise linear system with three zones studied in Lima et al. This paper considers operational issues that arise in repetitive manufacturing systems served by automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in loops with unidirectional material flow. The objective considered is the minimization of the steady state cycle time required to produce a minimal job set (or equivalently, throughput rate maximization). Our models allow for delays caused by AGV conflicts. We define and analyze three nondominated and widely used AGV dispatching policies. For each policy, we describe algorithms and intractability results for combined job scheduling and material handling problems. We describe a genetic algorithm that estimates the cycle time within 5% on average for instances with up to 10 machines and four AGVs. Some related fleet sizing and loop decomposition issues are discussed in the companion paper [19].  相似文献

We consider the problem of processing some identical jobs with a complicated technological route on some production line in presence of parallel machines. Under some constrains on the number of jobs processed simultaneously, a cyclic schedule is desired with minimum cycle duration. 关于平面同(异)宿环的稳定性已有不少文献讨论过,但关于空间同(异)宿环的稳定性尚没有任何结果.本文在可定义回复映射的条件下给出了同(异)宿环在其部分邻域中是渐近稳定的判据.这些结果在某种意义下是平面系统相应结果的推广,包括并推广了[2],[3]的结果.本文最后讨论了Lorenz系统同宿环和三种群竞争系统异宿环的稳定性,所得结果和Sparrow与May等的数值结果相吻合.  相似文献
