With a high-performance Monte Carlo algorithm we study the interaction-induced shift of the critical point in weakly interacting three-dimensional /psi/(4) theory (which includes quantum Bose gas). In terms of critical density, n(c), mass, m, interaction, U, and temperature, T, this shift is universal: Deltan(c)(T) = -Cm(3)T(2)U, the constant C found to be equal to 0.0140+/-0.0005. For quantum Bose gas with the scattering length a this implies DeltaT(c)/T(c) = C(0)an(1/3), with C(0) = 1.29+/-0.05.  相似文献

The high hydrostatic pressure effect on the magnetic properties of the layered hybrid compounds Cu(2)(OH)(3)(C(n)H(2n+1)CO(2))·mH(2)O with distance between magnetic layers of up to 40 ? is studied. It is shown that the temperature of the ferromagnetic ordering decreases linearly with pressure increase. From measurements of susceptibility in the paramagnetic region, using both quantum Heisenberg and Ising exchange coupling models in layers and dipole interaction between layers, the in- and interlayer interactions are deduced. The dipole interactions are calculated and are shown to coincide with the model of Ising interactions in the layers. The value and decrease of T(c) under pressure are mainly driven by the value and decrease of the in-plane interactions. The formation of the long range ordering in the layered sample with dipolar interaction between layers is analysed. As a conclusion it is suggested that for designing high temperature ferromagnetism in layer compounds it is enough to have large in-plane interactions of ions with specific symmetry in layers and weak dipole interactions between layers.  相似文献

One of the challenges in relating experimental measurements of the suppression in the number of J/psi mesons produced in heavy ion collisions to lattice QCD calculations is that whereas the lattice calculations treat J/psi mesons at rest, in a heavy ion collision a cc[over ] pair can have a significant velocity with respect to the hot fluid produced in the collision. The putative J/psi finds itself in a hot wind. We present the first rigorous nonperturbative calculation of the consequences of a wind velocity v on the screening length L(s) for a heavy quark-antiquark pair in hot N=4 supersymmetric QCD. We find L(s)(v,T)=f(v)[1-v(2)](1/4)/piT with f(v) only mildly dependent on v and the wind direction. This L(s)(v,T) approximately L(s)(0,T)/sqrt[gamma] velocity scaling, if realized in QCD, provides a significant additional source of J/psi suppression at transverse momenta which are high but within experimental reach.  相似文献

Monte Carlo simulations are performed on the three-dimensional (3D) Ising model with the 2-1-4 layered perovskite structure as a minimal model for checkerboard charge ordering phenomena in layered perovskite oxides. Because of the interlayer frustration, only 2D long-range order emerges with a finite correlation length along the c axis. Critical exponents of the transition change continuously as a function of the interlayer coupling constant. The interlayer long-range Coulomb interaction decays exponentially and is negligible even between the second-neighbor layers. Instead, monoclinic distortion of a tetragonal unit cell lifts the macroscopic degeneracy to induce a 3D charge ordering. The dimensionality of the charge order in La0.5Sr1.5MnO4 is discussed from this viewpoint.  相似文献

We calculate the cross section for the exclusive production of J(PC)=0(++) glueballs G0 in association with the J/psi in e(+)e(-) annihilation using the perturbative QCD factorization formalism. The required long-distance matrix element for the glueball is bounded by CUSB data from a search for resonances in radiative Upsilon decay. The cross section for e(+)e(-)-->J/psi+G0 at sqrt[s]=10.6 GeV is similar to exclusive charmonium-pair production e(+)e(-)-->J/psi+h for h=eta(c) and chi(c0), and is larger by a factor of 2 than that for h=eta(c)(2S). As the subprocesses gamma(*)-->(cc)(cc) and gamma(*)-->(cc)(gg) are of the same nominal order in perturbative QCD, it is possible that some portion of the anomalously large signal observed by Belle in e(+)e(-)-->J/psiX may actually be due to the production of charmonium-glueball J/psiG(J) pairs.  相似文献

Using data collected with the CLEO detector operating at the CESR e+e- collider at sqrt[s]=3.97-4.26 GeV, we investigate 15 charmonium decay modes of the psi(4040), psi(4160), and Y(4260) resonances. We confirm, at 11 sigma significance, the BABAR Y(4260)-->pi+pi- J/psi discovery, make the first observation of Y(4260)--> pi(0)pi(0) J/psi (5.1 sigma), and find the first evidence for Y(4260)-->K+K- J/psi(3.7 sigma). We measure e+e- cross sections at sqrt[s]=4.26 GeV as sigma(pi+pi- J/psi)=58(+12)(-10)+/-4 pb, sigma(pi(0)pi(0) J/psi)=23(+12)(-8)+/-1 pb, and sigma(K+K- J/psi)=9(+9)(-5)+/-1 pb, in which the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Upper limits are placed on other decay rates from all three resonances.  相似文献

The decays of J/psi --> etaphif(0)(980)[eta --> gammagamma, phi --> K(+) K(-), f(0)(980) --> pi(+)pi(-)] are analyzed using a sample of 5.8 x 10(7) J/psi events collected with the BESII detector at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider. A structure at around 2.18 GeV/c(2) with about 5 sigma significance is observed in the phif(0)(980) invariant mass spectrum. A fit with a Breit-Wigner function gives the peak mass and width of m = 2.186+/-0.010(stat)+/-0.006(syst) GeV/c(2) and Gamma = 0.065+/-0.023(stat)+/-0.017(syst) GeV/c(2), respectively, which are consistent with those of Y(2175), observed by the BABAR Collaboration in the initial-state radiation process e(+)e(-) --> gamma(ISR) phif(0)(980). The production branching ratio is determined to be Br(J/psi --> etaY(2175))Br(Y(2175)- -> phif(0)(980))Br(f(0)(980) --> pi(+)pi(-)) = [3.23+/-0.75(stat)+/-0.73(syst)] x 10(-4), assuming that the Y(2175) is a 1(--) state.  相似文献

We have investigated the magnetic order in an [Fe(2)/(VHx)(13)] x 200 superlattice as a function of temperature and hydrogen content in the vanadium layers. A J(radially)-T magnetic phase diagram was established where J(radially) denotes the interlayer exchange coupling between adjacent Fe planes. We propose that Fe/V superlattices, in which the ratio of interlayer to intralayer coupling can be tuned continuously and reversibly via hydrogen in the nonmagnetic vanadium, offer a new approach for the study of low-dimensional magnetism and crossover effects near the transition from ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic order.  相似文献

We study Heisenberg antiferromagnets with nearest- (J1) and third- (J3) neighbor exchange on the square lattice. In the limit of spin S-->infinity, there is a zero temperature (T) Lifshitz point at J(3)=1/4J(1), with long-range spiral spin order at T=0 for J3>1/4J(1). We present classical Monte Carlo simulations and a theory for T>0 crossovers near the Lifshitz point: spin rotation symmetry is restored at any T>0, but there is a broken lattice reflection symmetry for 0< or =T相似文献

Recent measurements by the Belle Collaboration of the exclusive production of two charmonia in e(+)e(-) annihilation differ substantially from theoretical predictions. We suggest that a significant part of the discrepancy can be explained by the process e(+)e(-)-->J/psi+J/psi. Because the J/psi+J/psi production process can proceed through fragmentation of two virtual photons into two cc pairs, its cross section may be larger than that for J/psi+eta(c) by about a factor of 3.7, in spite of a suppression factor alpha(2)/alpha(2)(s) that is associated with the QED and QCD coupling constants.  相似文献

A broad peak is observed at low K+K- invariant mass in J/psi-->K+K-pi(0) decays found in a sample of 5.8x10(7) J/psi events collected with the BESII detector. The statistical significance of the broad resonance is much larger than 5sigma. A partial wave analysis shows that the J;{PC} of this structure is 1--. Its pole position is determined to be [1576(-55)(+49)(stat)-91+98(syst)] MeV/c(2)-i/2[818(-23)(+22)(stat)-133+64(syst)] MeV/c(2). These parameters are not compatible with any known meson resonances.  相似文献

Transverse relaxation-optimized NMR experiment (TROSY) for the measurement of three-bond scalar coupling constant between (1)H(alpha)(i-1) and (15)N(i) defining the dihedral angle psi is described. The triple-spin-state-selective experiment allows measurement of (3)J(H(alpha)N) from (13)C(alpha), (15)N, and (1)H(N) correlation spectra H(2)O with minimum resonance overlap. Transverse relaxation of (13)C(alpha) spin is minimized by using spin-state-selective filtering and by acquiring a signal longer in (15)N-dimension in a manner of semi-constant-time TROSY evolution. The (3)J(H(alpha))(N) values obtained with the proposed alpha/beta-HN(CO)CA-J TROSY scheme are in good agreement with the values measured earlier from ubiquitin in D(2)O using the HCACO[N] experiment.  相似文献

We report the observation of prompt J/psi via double cc; production from the e+e- continuum. In this process one cc; pair fragments into a J/psi meson while the remaining pair either produces a charmonium state or fragments into open charm. Both cases have been experimentally observed. We find cross sections of sigma[e+e- -->J/psieta(c)(gamma)]xB(eta(c)-->or=4 charged)=(0.033(+0.007)(-0.006)+/-0.009) pb and sigma(e+e- -->J/psiD(*+)X)=(0.53(+0.19)(-0.15)+/-0.14) pb and infer sigma(e+e- -->J/psicc;)/sigma(e+e- -->J/psiX)=0.59(+0.15)(-0.13)+/-0.12. These results are obtained from a 46.2 fb(-1) data sample collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance, with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider.  相似文献

Low-angle grain boundaries (GBs) in superconductors exhibit intermediate Abrikosov vortices with Josephson cores, whose length l along GB is smaller than the London penetration depth, but larger than the coherence length. We found an exact solution for a periodic vortex structure moving along GBs in a magnetic field H and calculated the flux flow resistivity R(F)(H), and the nonlinear voltage-current characteristics. The predicted R(F)(H) dependence describes well our experimental data on 7 unirradiated and irradiated YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7) bicrystals, from which the core size l(T), and the intrinsic depairing density J(b)(T) on nanoscales of a few GB dislocations were measured for the first time. The observed J(b)(T) = J(b0)(1-T/T(c))(2) indicates a significant order parameter suppression on GB.  相似文献

We report the first search for CP-violating decays of the Upsilon(4S) using a data sample that contains 535 x 10(6) Upsilon(4S) mesons with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. A partial reconstruction technique is employed to enhance the signal sensitivity. No significant signals were observed. We obtain an upper limit of 4 x 10(-7) at the 90% confidence level for the branching fractions of the CP violating modes, Upsilon(4S)-->B(0)B(0)-->J/psiK(S)(0)+J/psi(eta(c))K(S)(0). Extrapolating the result, we find that an observation with 5sigma significance is expected with a 30 ab(-1) data sample, which is within the reach of a future super B factory.  相似文献

The Ising model is considered on a simple cubic lattice, with a coupling constant J along one axis and coupling constants J’ along the remaining two axes. The transfer-matrix technique and an extended phenomenological renormalization group theory [18, 19] are applied to obtain two-sided bounds on the critical temperature for the model with J′/J≤1. The bounds monotonically converge with decreasing J′/J and provide improved estimates for the phase-transition temperature in anisotropic three-dimensional Ising model, as compared with those available from the literature.  相似文献

The h(c)((1)P(1)) state of charmonium has been observed in the reaction psi(2S) --> pi(0)h(c) --> (gammagamma)(gammaeta(c)) using 3.08 x10(6) psi(2S) decays recorded in the CLEO detector. Data have been analyzed both for the inclusive reaction, where the decay products of the eta(c) are not identified, and for exclusive reactions, in which eta(c) decays are reconstructed in seven hadronic decay channels. We find M(h(c)) = 3524.4 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.4 MeV which corresponds to a hyperfine splitting DeltaM(hf)(1P) triple-bond pi(0)h(c)) x B(h(c) --> gammaeta(c)) = (4.0 +/- 0.8 +/- 0.7) x 10(-4).  相似文献

We have measured the polarization of J/psi and psi(2S) mesons produced in pp collisions at sqrt[s] = 1.8 TeV, using data collected at the Collider Detector at Fermilab during 1992-1995. From an analysis of the decay Bs0-->J/psi phi, we obtain the width difference between the light and heavy mass eigenstates DeltaGamma identical with (GammaL-GammaH)=0.17+/-0.09(stat)+/-0.02(syst) ps-1 and the CP-violating phase phis=-0.79+/-0.56(stat)(-0.01)(+0.14)(syst). Under the hypothesis of no CP violation (phis identical with 0), we obtain 1/Gamma=tau(Bs0)=1.52+/-0.08(stat)(-0.03)(+0.01)(syst) ps and DeltaGamma=0.12(-0.10)(+0.08)(stat)+/-0.02(syst) ps-1. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of about 1.1 fb-1 accumulated with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. This is the first direct measurement of the CP-violating mixing phase in the Bs0 system.  相似文献
