We compute O(alpha(3)lnalpha) relative corrections to the ground-state hyperfine splitting of a QED two-body bound state with different masses of constituents. The general result is then applied to muonium and positronium. In particular, a new value of the muon-to-electron mass ratio is derived from the muonium ground-state hyperfine splitting.  相似文献

The complete contribution to the muonium hyperfine splitting of relative order alpha(3)(m(e)/m(mu))lnalpha is calculated. The result is much smaller than suggested by a previous estimate and leads to a 2sigma upward shift of the most precise value for the muon-electron mass ratio. Analogous contributions are calculated for the positronium hyperfine splitting, where a discrepancy with experiment remains.  相似文献

The logarithmically enhanced alpha(7)ln(1/alpha) contribution to the hyperfine splitting of the positronium ground-state energy levels is calculated in the framework of dimensionally regularized nonrelativistic quantum electrodynamics. The correction is negative and amounts to about 1/3 of the leading logarithmic alpha(7)ln (2)(1/alpha) one. The discrepancy between the experimental measurements and the theoretical prediction is reduced.  相似文献

A systematic perturbation theory for the computation of positronium energy levels is presented. The proposed method is based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation and a zeroth-order kernel for which exact solutions are known explicitly. The cancellation of ultraviolet divergences arising in the perturbation series is discussed, and new contributions to the ground-state hyperfine splitting of positronium are evaluated up to order α6.  相似文献

The contact density |Ψ(0)|2 and the hyperfine splitting of positronium in naphthalene have been determined by means of a magnetic quenching experiment. Results show that the perturbing effect of the medium on the hyperfine splitting is not interpretable as a change of the contact density alone, since on passing from vacuum to the medium, the contact density and the splitting do not scale together. The first is reduced by a factor of 0.25, the second by a factor of 0.067. A simple phenomenological model is presented. This work was entirely supported by CISM (Centro Interuniversitario di Struttura della Materia) of the Ministero della Pubblica Istruzione and by GNSM (Gruppo Nazionale di Struttura della Materia) of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche.  相似文献

The relativistic Schr?dinger theory (RST) for N-fermion systems is further elaborated with respect to three fundamental problems which must emerge in any relativistic theory of quantum matter: (i) emergence/suppression of exchange forces between identical/non-identical particles, (ii) self-interactions, (iii) non-relativistic approximation. These questions are studied in detail for two- and three-particle systems but the results do apply to a general N-particle system. As a concrete demonstration, the singlet and triplet configurations of the positronium groundstate are considered within the RST framework, including a discussion of the corresponding hyperfine splitting.   相似文献

Positronium is an ideal system for the research of the quantum electrodynamics (QED) in bound state. The hyperfine splitting (HFS) of positronium, ΔHFS, gives a good test of the bound state calculations and probes new physics beyond the Standard Model. A new method of QED calculations has revealed the discrepancy by 15 ppm (3.9σ) of ΔHFS between the QED prediction and the experimental average. There would be possibility of new physics or common systematic uncertainties in the previous all experiments. We describe a new experiment to reduce possible systematic uncertainties and will provide an independent check of the discrepancy. We are now taking data and the current result of ΔHFS?=?203.395 1 ±0.002 4 (stat., 12 ppm) ±0.001 9 (sys., 9.5 ppm) GHz has been obtained so far. A measurement with a precision of O(ppm) is expected within a year.  相似文献

Since the combination D 21 = 8f HFS(2s)-f HFS(1s) of hyperfine intervals in hydrogen and light two-body hydrogen-like atomic systems weakly depends on the nuclear structure, comparison between theory and experiment can be sensitive to high order QED corrections. New theoretical and experimental results are presented. Calculations have been performed for the hydrogen and deuterium atoms and for the helium-3 ion. Experiments on the 2s hyperfine splitting (responsible for the dominant contribution to the error in D 21) have been conducted for hydrogen and deuterium. The theory and experiment are in good agreement, and their accuracy is comparable to that attained in verifying the QED theory of the hyperfine splitting in leptonic atoms (muonium and positronium).  相似文献

Summary An anomalously high magnetic quenching of positronium at low field (a few kG) has been revealed in certain polymeric materials. To interpret the experimental results, the existence in the same specimen of two Ps-like centres is suggested. The ?normal? Ps-like centre is characterized by hyperfine splitting smaller by a factor not greater than 2 than that of free Ps. The ?anomalous? one shows hyperfine splitting in an order of magnitude weaker than for free Ps.

The recoil-effect-induced part of the 6 contribution to the hyperfine splitting of the positronium ground state is calculated. The method employed is based on noncovariant perturbation theory within QED. The result is 0.381(6) 6, which agrees well with the results of previous studies. We present a state-of-the-art evaluation of the polarizability corrections--the inelastic nucleon corrections--to the hydrogen ground-state hyperfine splitting using analytic fits to the most recent data. We find a value Delta(pol)=1.3+/-0.3 ppm. This is 1-2 ppm smaller than the value of Delta(pol) deduced using hyperfine splitting data and elastic nucleon corrections obtained from modern form factor fits.  相似文献

We report on the first measurements of the longitudinal polarization of positrons emitted by polarized nuclei, using cryogenically polarized107In. This so-called polarization-asymmetry correlation is very sensitive to the mass of a possible right-handed gauge boson, which is invoked by parity symmetric extensions of the standard V-A electroweak model to explain the experimentally observed strong violation of parity which, however, may not be complete. The positron polarization is deduced from the time-resolved decay spectrum of positronium hyperfine states. Our preliminary result points to a lower limit of about 210 GeV for the mass of an eventual right-handed charged W gauge boson. This result can still be improved.  相似文献

本文实现了可用于锂原子频率精密测量的冷原子系统,获得了大数目的原子样品;利用西西弗斯冷却和速度选择相干布居俘获实现了~6Li的冷原子的灰色黏胶冷却,原子的温度被冷却到多普勒冷却极限以下,达到50μK;利用光学频率梳,实验上测量了D1线的跃迁频率和超精细分裂,测量结果和理论计算相接近,可以和目前最精确的测量相比较.这些测量为进一步的轻质量原子频率的精密测量、α常数以及核半径的精确标定打下了基础.  相似文献

The velocity renormalization group is used to determine lnalpha contributions to QED bound state energies. The leading-order anomalous dimension for the potential gives the alpha(5)lnalpha Lamb shift. The next-to-leading-order anomalous dimension determines the alpha(6)lnalpha, alpha(7)ln (2)alpha, and alpha(8)ln (3)alpha corrections to the energy. These are used to obtain the alpha(8)ln (3)alpha Lamb shift and alpha(7)ln (2)alpha hyperfine splitting for hydrogen, muonium, and positronium, as well as the alpha(2)lnalpha and alpha(3)ln (2)alpha corrections to the ortho- and parapositronium lifetimes. This shows for the first time that these logarithms can be computed from the renormalization group.  相似文献

在Λ型三能级系统的基础上引入两个共振射频场, 通过详细讨论系统的探测吸收特性随两个射频场Rabi频率取不同值时的变化规律, 得出电磁诱导透明(EIT)的分裂规律以及EIT上出现增益现象的产生条件.研究结果表明: 两个射频场对系统所起的控制作用不同, 控制基态精细结构能级之间跃迁的射频场对EIT的分裂起作用, 而控制激发态精细结构能级之间跃迁的射频场不会导致EIT的分裂; 而且, 只有当控制基态精细结构能级之间跃迁的射频场的Rabi频率大于控制激发态精细结构能级之间跃迁的射频场的Rabi频率时, 才能产生EIT与增益相叠加的新特性. 关键词: 射频场 电磁诱导透明 增益 精细结构能级  相似文献

在室温下的原子气室中, 基于铯原子6S1/2-6P3/2-7S1/2(852.3 nm+1469.9 nm) 阶梯型能级系统, 利用电光调制器的主频和±1级边带分别产生的三套双共振吸收光谱, 当驱动电光调制器的信号源频率严格等于7S1/2态超精细分裂的能级间隔时, 三套谱线中的一些超精细跃迁谱线重叠且线宽最窄, 利用这一现象很好地避免了激光器频率扫描时非线性效应的影响, 测量出了7S1/2 态超精细分裂能级间隔: 2183.72 MHz±0.23 MHz, 并计算出该态的磁偶极超精细常数: Ahfs= 545.93 m MHz±0.06 MHz, 与文献中报道的测量结果一致.  相似文献

The splitting of NMR signal, which is analyzed in terms of the invariant hyperfine coupling between the nuclear spin and the multipolar moments of magnetic ions, gives important information about the multipolar ordering. The NMR splitting of P nuclei is analyzed for the low-temperature phase of PrFe4P12, whose nature has been controversial. Two scenarios are examined: one is a modulation of the hyperfine coupling caused by the antiferro-quadrupole (AFQ) ordering; another is the hyperfine coupling due to a monopole-type ordering.  相似文献

We report an experimental investigation on the Doppler-free saturated absorption spectroscopy of buffer-gas-cooled Barium monofluoride (BaF) molecules in a 4 K cryogenic cell. The obtained spectra with a resolution of 19 MHz, much smaller than previously observed in absorption spectroscopy, clearly resolve the hyperfine transitions. Moreover, we use these high-resolution spectra to fit the hyperfine splittings of excited A(v = 0) state and find the hyperfine splitting of the laser-cooling-relevant A2Π1/2(v = 0, J = 1/2,+) state is about 18 MHz, much higher than the previous theoretically predicted value. This provides important missing information for laser cooling of BaF molecules.  相似文献
