Magnetic, elastic, magnetoelastic, transport, and magnetotransport properties of the Eu0.55Sr0.45MnO3 ceramics have been studied. A break was detected in the temperature dependence of electrical resistivity ρ(T) near the temperature of the magnetic phase transformation (41 K), with the material remaining an insulator down to the lowest measurement temperature reached (ρ=106 Ω cm at 4.2 K). In the interval 4.2≤T≤50 K, the isotherms of the magnetization, volume magnetostriction, and ρ were observed to undergo jumps at the critical field HC1, which decreases with increasing T. For 50≤T≤120 K, the jumps in the above curves persist, but the pattern of the curves changes and HC1 grows with increasing T. The magnetoresistance Δρ/ρ = (ρ H H=0)/ρ H is positive for H<HC1 and passes through a maximum at 41 K, where Δρ/ρ = 6%. For H>HC1, the magnetoresistance is negative, passes through a minimum near 41 K, and reaches a colossal value of 3×105 % at H=45 kOe. The volume magnetostriction is negative and attains a giant value of 4.5×10?4atH=45 kOe. The observed properties are assigned to the existence of three phases in Eu0.55Sr0.45MnO3, namely, a ferromagnetic (FM) phase, in which carriers are concentrated because of the gain in s-d exchange energy, and two antiferromagnetic (AFM) phases of the A and CE types. Their fractional volumes at low temperatures were estimated to be as follows: ~3% of the sample volume is occupied by the FM phase; ~67%, by the CE-type AFM phase; and ~30%, by the A-type AFM phase.  相似文献

We report a quantitative investigation of the magnetic field-temperature phase diagram by taking into account a simple phenomenological model arising out of the interplay of kinetic arrest and thermodynamic transitions in a magnetic glass Pr0.5Ca0.5Mn0.975Al0.025O3, through magnetization measurements. Such studies are necessary as kinetic arrest plays an important role in the formation of “magnetic glasses”, which has been observed in systems undergoing first order magnetic phase transitions. It has been shown that disorder in a system results in the formation kinetic arrest (H K ,T K ) band, like supercooling (H *,T *) and superheating (H **,T **) band. Quantitative proofs are given to show that (H K ,T K ) band is anticorrelated with (H *,T *) and (H **,T **) bands, while the later two are correlated among themselves. Analysis of time dependence of magnetization at different temperatures is carried out to establish the fact that the kinetic arrested state is different from the supercooled state.  相似文献

The baric (P ≤ 5GPa) and magnetic-field (H ≤ 5 kOe) dependences of the transverse magnetore-sistance Δρ xx 0 have been measured for p-InAs (R H = 22.5 cm3/C, ρ = 0.15 Ω cm) and the new ferromag-netic semiconductor p-CdGeAs2 (R H = 5 cm3/C, ρ = 0.62 Ω cm), doped with a magnetic impurity (Mn), near the temperature T = 297 K. The dependences Δρ xx 0 (P, H) for p-InAs:Mn and p-CdGeAs2:Mn exhibit a magnetoresistive effect with an increase in pressure, and a pressure-induced magnetoresistance hysteresis is observed in p-CdGeAs2:Mn with a pressure drop.  相似文献

The EPR of Mn ions in the (La1?yPry)0.7Ca0.3MnO3 system has been studied within a broad range of temperatures (4<T<600 K) and Pr concentrations (0≤y≤1), as well as under isotope substitution of 18O for 16O. All compositions were shown to undergo transitions to a magnetically ordered state with decreasing temperature. Magnetic phase diagrams were constructed for systems with different oxygen isotopes. The diagrams include paramagnetic, ferromagnetic, and antiferromagnetic regions. In the paramagnetic region, at temperatures not too close to the phase transition points, the Mn ion linewidth ΔH pp (T) is related to the magnetic susceptibility χ(T) through the relation ΔH pp (T) = [χ0/χ(T)]ΔH pp (∞) + ΔH0, where ΔH pp (∞) is the width of the exchange-narrowed line in the high-temperature approximation, χ0 ∝ 1/T is the susceptibility of noninteracting ions, and ΔH0 is the residual width originating from the sample porosity and resonance-field scatter in unoriented grains of a powder sample. An analysis of the data on ΔH pp (∞), ΔH0, and χ(T) made it possible to estimate the symmetric and antisymmetric exchange interaction of Mn ions and of the noncubic crystal-field component of the oxygen ions. These parameters were found to be independent of the oxygen isotope species to within experimental error.  相似文献

The transport properties in the mixed state of high-quality Ca_(0.8)La_(0.2)Fe_(0.98)Co_(0.02)As_2single crystal,a newly discovered 112-type iron pnictide superconductor,are comprehensively studied by magneto-resistivity measurement.The field-dependent activation energy,U_0,is derived in the framework of thermally activated flux flow(TAFF)theory,yielding a power law dependence U_0~H~αwith a crossover at a magnetic field around 2 T in both H⊥ab and H//ab,which is ascribed to the different pinning mechanisms.Moreover,we have clearly observed the vortex phase transition from vortex-glass to vortex-liquid according to the vortex-glass model,and vortex phase diagrams are constructed for both H⊥ab and H//ab.Finally,the results of mixed-state Hall effect show that no sign reversal of transverse resistivityρ_(xy)(H)is detected,indicating that the Hall component arising from the vortex flow is in theories or experiments previously reported on some high-T_ccuprates.  相似文献

Hysteresis of the magnetoresistance of ceramic YBa2Cu3O~6.95 HTSC samples is studied at T = 77.3 K in an external magnetic field H ext changing in 0 → H max → 0 cycles, where H max is the maximum magnitude of H ext. Information is obtained about the dependences of the critical fields of Josephson weak links H c2J , the lower critical fields of superconducting grains H c1A , and the critical fields H BG-VG of the Bragg glass-vortex glass phase transition in the vortex matter on transport current I, magnetic field, and the mutual orientation of I and H ext. It is found that the magnetoresistance δρ+273 K measured with increasing H ext is significantly higher than Δρ?273 K and that H c2J + < H c2J ? , H c1A + < H c1A ? , and H BG-VG + < H BG-VG ? .  相似文献

The paramagnetic relaxation of Tb0,01 Y0,99(C2H5SO4)3·9H2O at temperatures between 1,14°K and 4,21°K has been investigated with the absorption-dispersion method at frequencies between 5 sec?1 and 10240 sec?1 and different magnetic fields. AtH=700 Oe. The relaxation time follows the equationτ ?1=[A H 3 coth (g z μ B H/2k T)+B T 7] sec?1 as a function of temperature. ForH<800 Oe the paramagnetic relaxation is influenced by cross relaxation processes between the hyperfine structure levels.  相似文献

Thin films Cu2ZnSnS4 (up to 0.9 μm thick) with p-type conductivity and band gap Eg = 1.54 eV have been prepared by the spray pyrolysis of 0.1 M aqueous solutions of the salts CuCl2 · 2H2O, ZnCl2 · 2H2O, SnCl4 · 5H2O, and (NH2)2CS at a temperature TS = 290°C. The electrophysical properties of the films have been analyzed using the model for polycrystalline materials with electrically active grain boundaries. The energy and geometric parameters of the grain boundaries have been determined as follows: the height of the barriers is Eb ≈ 0.045–0.048 eV, and the thickness of the depletion region is δ ≈ 3.25 nm. The effective concentrations of charge carriers p0 = 3.16 × 1018 cm–3 and their mobilities in crystallites μp = 85 cm2/(V s) have been found using the technique for determining the kinetic parameters from the absorption spectra of thin films at a photon energy hν ≈ Eg. The density of states at grain boundaries Nt = 9.57 × 1011 cm–2 has been estimated.  相似文献

Spectra of secondary particles (γ-rays) in γ-families detected in the X-ray chambers in the Pamirs (H = 600 g cm?2) have been analyzed. These γ-ray spectra show a bend at the energy E* γ ≈ (ΣE γ )min, where (ΣE γ )min is the lowest total energy of γ-rays in the families above which γ-families were selected. The bend is not related to the knee in the spectrum of primary particles; it is due to the use of the ΣE γ selection criterion. The E γ spectrum slope is sensitive to the spectrum of the primary cosmic rays in the region E γ ≥ (ΣE γ )min.  相似文献

The electron spin resonance has been measured for the first time both in the paramagnetic phase of the metallic GdB6 antiferromagnet (TN = 15.5K) and in the antiferromagnetic state (T < TN). In the paramagnetic phase below T* ~ 70 K, the material is found to exhibit a pronounced increase in the resonance linewidth and a shift in the g-factor, which is proportional to the linewidth Δg(T) ~ ΔH(T). Such behavior is not characteristic of antiferromagnetic metals and seems to be due to the effects related to displacements of Gd3+ ions from the centrosymmetric positions in the boron cage. The transition to the antiferromagnetic phase is accompanied by an abrupt change in the position of resonance (from μ0H0 ≈ 1.9 T to μ0H0 ≈ 3.9 T at ν = 60 GHz), after which a smooth evolution of the spectrum occurs, resulting eventually in the formation of the spectrum consisting of four resonance lines. The magnetic field dependence of the frequency of the resonant modes ω0(H0) obtained in the range of 28–69 GHz is well interpreted within the model of ESR in an antiferromagnet with the easy anisotropy axis ω/γ = (H 0 2 +2HAHE)1/2, where HE is the exchange field and HA is the anisotropy field. This provides an estimate for the anisotropy field, HA ≈ 800 Oe. This value can result from the dipole?dipole interaction related to the mutual displacement of Gd3+ ions, which occurs at the antiferromagnetic transition.  相似文献

It is shown how several discrepancies in the optical hfs of the Eu can be understood as consequences of the exchange polarization of the inner and outers-electrons by the spin of the half filled (4f 7)-subshell, an effect which should produce additional magnetic fields at the nucleus. Thus from the two different values of the electronic splitting constanta 6s in the two Eu-II ground states the polarization field from the 6s-shell (Δ H 6s ) is determined to be ca. +260 KG, and the formal splitting constantσ (??3 mK) of the (4f 7)-subshell yields ca. ?350 KG for the fieldΔ H (1?5) from the five innern s-shells (n=1?5) in good agreement with the strength of the inner field obtained from recent Mössbauer effect studies.Δ H (1?5) is deduced to be approximately equal in all sufficiently analysed ground and excited configurations of the neutral and ionised Eu atom ((4f 7) 6s, 6p, 5d, 6s 2 and 6s 6p). Other elements with half filled subshells (Am, Mn) show similar features in their optical hfs. For Am+ ((5f 7) 7s) ca. ?2200 KG are found for the inner field (Δ H (1?6)). For several 3d-elements it was found that the agreement between the calculated polarization fields and those following from experimental results is better than assumed so far.  相似文献

The hyperfine-structure spectra of the 14.4 keVγ-ray of the nucleus57Fe in the spinel type ferrite (Li 05 + Fe 1.3 3+ Cr 1.2 3+ O 4 2? ) have been measured through the use of the Mößbauer effect. These measurements were performed on powder samples at different temperatures between 88 °K and 633 °K. For the Fe3+ ions at both the tetrahedral (A) and octahedral (B) sites at 88 °K the effective magnetic fieldH at the Fe nuclei is the same and equal to 504±4 kG. The temperature dependence ofH A however is different fromH B . Application of an external magnetic field of 20 kG shows that the sign ofH A is positive and the sign ofH B is negative. As the temperature is increased a considerable broadening of the magnetic hfs-lines (and especially of the outer pair of lines) is observed. No theoretical discussion directly applicable to these measurements is as yet available. In the paramagnetic phase a well resolved doublet is obtained. It appears that this doublet must be interpreted as a quadrupole splitting.  相似文献

Rotational temperatures have been determined from the intensities of the vacuum ultraviolet H2(2p 1 Π u →1s 1 Σ g + ) emission lines, excited by 15 keV electron impact. Their experimental values for the unperturbed 2p 1 Π d rotationallevels verify theoretical predictions, and show that the fast electron impact populates 2p 1 Π d out of the ground state byΔJ=0, analogous to the valid optical selection rule.  相似文献

The Zeeman effect, magnetization M(H), and differential magnetic susceptibility dM/dH of ErVO4 crystals in a pulsed magnetic field have been experimentally and theoretically studied. In magnetic fields H ∥ [001] and H ∥ [100], the energy levels of Er3+ ions exhibit mutual approach and crossing (the crossover effect), which results in the peaks in dM/dH and the jumps in M(H) curves at low temperatures. The anomalies in the magnetic properties related to the crossover in ErVO4 for H ∥ [001] are highly sensitive to the electronic structure of Er3+ ion, which allows this effect to be used for refining the crystal field parameters. The influence of the temperature, field misorientation from the symmetry axis, parameters of pair interactions, and other factors on the magnitude and character of magnetic anomalies in ErVO4 crystals is considered.  相似文献

The Hall coefficient R H , resistivity ρ, and Seebeck coefficient S of the CeAl2 compound with fast electron density fluctuations were studied in a wide temperature range (from 1.8 to 300 K). Detailed measurements of the angular dependences R H (? T, H≤70 kOe) were performed to determine contributions to the anomalous Hall effect and study the behavior of the anomalous magnetic R H am and main R H a components of the Hall signal of this compound with strong electron correlation. The special features of the behavior of the anomalous magnetic component R H am were used to analyze the complex magnetic phase diagram H-T determined by magnetic ordering in the presence of strong spin fluctuations. An analysis of changes in the main contribution R H a (H, T) to the Hall effect made it possible to determine the complex activation behavior of this anomalous component in the CeAl2 intermetallic compound. The results led us to conclude that taking into account spin-polaron effects was necessary and that the Kondo lattice and skew-scattering models were of very limited applicability as methods for describing the low-temperature transport of charge carriers in cerium-based intermetallic compounds. The effective masses and localization radii of manybody states in the CeAl2 matrix were estimated to be (55–90)m0 and 6–10 Å, respectively. The behaviors of the parameters R H , S, and ρ were jointly analyzed. The results allowed us to consistently describe the transport coefficients of CeAl2.  相似文献

Standard enthalpies of formation for solid solutions of composition Nd1 + x Ba2 ? x Cu3O y (x = 0–0.8, y = 6.65–7.24) from oxides were determined by solution calorimetry. The heat capacity of NdBa2Cu3O6.87 phase was measured in the range 5–320 K by low-temperature adiabatic calorimetry. The absolute entropy S o(T), the difference of enthalpies H o(T)-H o(0 K), and the reduced Gibbs energy Φo(T) = S o(T)–[H o(T)–H o(0)]/T were calculated on the basis of smoothed dependence C p (T) in the 0–320 K range. An assessment was made for the heat capacities and the absolute entropies of solid solutions Nd1+x Ba2?x Cu3O y . The obtained set of thermodynamic parameters can be used for the calculation of phase equilibria in the Nd-Ba-Cu-O system.  相似文献

Superconducting structures Pb–PG formed by filling a porous glass matrix with the lead from melt under pressure have been investigated. Samples with characteristic pore structure diameters of d ≈ 7, 3, and 2 nm have been studied. It has been found that the critical temperature of the superconducting transition in the samples under study is similar to the corresponding value Tc ≈ 7.2 K for bulk lead. At the same time, it has been observed that the critical magnetic field of the nanocomposites, which attains Hc(T = 0 K) ≈ 165 kOe for Pb–PG (3 nm), exceeds several times the value Hc(0) = 803 Oe for bulk lead. The low-temperature magnetic- field dependences of magnetic moment M(H) contain quasi-periodic flux jumps, which vanish with a decrease in the lead nanostructure diameter. A qualitative model of the observed effects is considered.  相似文献

The issue of vacuum stability of standard model (SM) is discussed by embedding it within the TeV scale left–right quark see-saw model. The Higgs potential in this case has only two coupling parameters (λ1, λ2) and two mass parameters. There are only two physical neutral Higgs bosons (h,H), the lighter one being identified with the 126 GeV Higgs boson. We explore the range of values for (λ1, λ2) for which the vacuum is stable for all values of the Higgs fields till 1016 GeV. Combining with the further requirement that the scalar self-couplings remain perturbative till 1016 GeV, we find (i) an upper and lower limit on the second Higgs (H) mass to be within the range: 0.4 ≤ (MH/vR) ≤ 0.7, where vR is the parity breaking scale and (ii) the masses of heavy vector-like top, bottom and τ partner fermions (P3, N3,E3) have an upper bound ≤ vR. These predictions can be tested at LHC and future higher energy colliders.  相似文献
