We study the elastic stability of infinite inhomogeneous thin plates on an elastic foundation under in-plane compression. The elastic stiffness constants depend on the coordinate variable in the thickness direction of the plate. The elastic foundation is represented as a Winkler-type model characterized by linear and nonlinear spring constants. First we derive the Föppl–von Kármán equations by taking variations of the elastic strain energy. Next we develop the linear stability analysis of the plate under uniform in-plane compression and explicitly derive the critical loads and wave numbers for particular three cases. The effects of the material inhomogeneity, material orthotropy and loading orthotropy on the critical states are examined independently. Finally, we perform a weakly nonlinear analysis of the plate at the onset of the buckling instability. With the multiple scales method, the amplitude equations for the unstable modes that provide insight into the mode type and its amplitude are derived and then the effect of the material inhomogeneity on buckling modes are evaluated qualitatively.  相似文献

In this paper, a new method is presented based on [1]. It can be used to solve the arbitrary nonlinear system of differential equations with variable coefficients. By this method, the general solution for large deformation of nonhomogeneous circular plates resting on an elastic foundation is derived. The convergence of the solution is proved. Finally, it is only necessary to solve a set of nonlinear algebraic equations with three unknowns. The solution obtained by the present method has large convergence range and the computation is simpler and more rapid than other numerical methods.Numerical examples given at the end of this paper indicate that satisfactory results of stress resullants and displacements can be obtained by the present method. The correctness of the theory in this paper is, confirmed.  相似文献

According to the large amplitude equation of the circular plate on nonlinear elastic foundation , elastic resisting force has linear item , cubic nonlinear item and resisting bend elastic item. A nonlinear vibration equation is obtained with the method of Galerkin under the condition of fixed boundary. Floquet exponent at equilibrium point is obtained without external excitation. Its stability and condition of possible bifurcation is analysed. Possible chaotic vibration is analysed and studied with the method of Melnikov with external excitation . The critical curves of the chaotic region and phase figure under some foundation parameters are obtained with the method of digital artificial.  相似文献

The axisymmetric forced vibrations of a circular sandwich plate on an elastic foundation are studied. The plate is subjected to axisymmetric surface and mechanical loads with frequency equal to one of the natural frequencies of the plate. The foundation reaction is described by the Winkler model. To describe the kinematics of an asymmetric sandwich, the hypothesis of broken normal is used. The core is assumed to be light. This article presents closed-form solutions for the frequency analysis of rectangular functionally graded material(FGM) thin plates subjected to initially in-plane loads and with an elastic foundation. Based on classical thin plate theory, the governing differential equations are derived using Hamilton's principle. A neutral surface is used to eliminate stretching–bending coupling in FGM plates on the basis of the assumption of constant Poisson's ratio. The resulting governing equation of FGM thin plates has the same form as homogeneous thin plates. The separation-ofvariables method is adopted to obtain solutions for the free vibration problems of rectangular FGM thin plates with separable boundary conditions, including, for example, clamped plates. The obtained normal modes and frequencies are in elegant closed forms, and present formulations and solutions are validated by comparing present results with those in the literature and finite element method results obtained by the authors. A parameter study reveals the effects of the power law index n and aspect ratio a/b on frequencies.  相似文献

In this paper,a new method,the exact analytic method,is presented on the basis of stepreduction method.By this method,the general solution for the bending of nonhomogenouscircular plates and circular plates with a circular hole at the center resting,on an elastfcfoundation is obtained under arbitrary axial symmetrical loads and boundary conditions.The uniform convergence of the solution is proved.This general solution can also be applieddirectly to the bending of circular plates without elastic foundation.Finally,it is onlynecessary to solve a set of binary linear algebraic equation.Numerical examples are givenat the end of this paper which indicate satisfactory results of stress resultants anddisplacements can be obtained by the present method.  相似文献

This paper presents a modified hole-drilling technique for measuring residual stresses in sheet and thin-plate materials. The primary advantage of the modification is that it eliminates the necessity for calibration of each experimental hole-gage assembly. The relaxation coefficients are calculated from theory, and the strain components which are extraneous to the true relaxation strains are determined and separated from the measured relaxation strains. Experiments were conducted on 0.050-in. (1.27-mm) and 0.125-in. (3.175-mm)-thickness aluminum-alloy specimens. Sources of extraneous strain components are analyzed and values for these strain components resulting from machining residual stresses and localized plastic yielding are determined. Finally, the recommended range of the nondimensional ratio of hole diameter to distance between hole center and strain-gage center is determined by the maximum permissible error in residual-stress estimates. The modified technique appears to be accurate within ±5 percent or better and is, therefore, comparable in precision with the X-ray technique.  相似文献

Three-dimensional elastic solutions are obtained for a functionally graded thick circular plate subject to axisymmetric conditions. We consider a isotropic material where the Young modulus depends exponentially on the position along the thickness, while the Poisson ratio is constant. The solution method utilises a Plevako’s representation form which reduces the problem to the construction of a potential function satisfying a linear fourth-order partial differential equation. We write this potential function in terms of Bessel functions and we pointwise assign mixed boundary conditions. The analytic solution is obtained in a general form and explicitly presented by assuming transversal load on the upper face and zero displacements on the mantle; this is done by superposing the solutions of problems with suitably imposed radial displacement. We validate the solution by means of a finite element approach; in this way, we highlight the effects of the material inhomogeneity and the limits of the employed numerical method near the mantle, where the solution shows a large sensitivity to the boundary conditions.  相似文献

首先通过级数展开和求极限运算的方法,确定了等厚度圆薄板轴对称大/小挠度问题的弯曲微分方程在圆心处的表达式.其次,根据轴对称问题的特点,推导出了实心圆薄板在圆心处应满足边界条件的数学表达式,使圆薄板轴对称大/小挠度问题的弯曲微分方程应满足的边界条件达到了应有的数量.本文工作进一步完善了圆薄板轴对称弯曲问题的微分方程形式和边界条件,从而使我们可以利用成熟的微分方程数值解法,对具有较复杂载荷的实心圆薄板轴对称弯曲微分方程进行数值求解.  相似文献

The von Kármán type partial differential equations governing non-linear dynamic behaviour of circular plates resting on Winkler and Pasternak elastic foundations have been analysed analytically. The space and time-wise integrations have been carried out employing the Chebyshev polynomials and implicit Houbolt techniques, respectively. The influence of foundation parameters K and G on the large amplitude response of circular plates subjected to step function loads has been studied for both the clamped immovable as well as simply supported immovable edge conditions. Foundation parameters K and G have been determined for the minimax central response. For all values of K,values of G should be between 30 and 40 for the clamped circular plates and the value of G should be a maximum for the simply supported circular plates.  相似文献

The paper describes the processes of elastic deformation of thin films under mechanical loading. The film is modeled longitudinally by a compressed plate arranged on an elastic foundation. A computer model of the buckling of the narrow thin plate with a delamination portion located on an elastic foundation is constructed. This paper also touches upon the supercritical behavior of the plate–substrate system. The experiments on the axial compression of a metal strip adhered to a rubber plate are performed, and 2 to 7 buckling modes are obtained therein. The critical loads and buckling modes obtained in the numerical calculations are compared with the experimental data. It is shown that there is the possibility of progressive delamination of the metal plate from the foundation if the critical load is exceeded. It is found that the use of the proposed approach, which, in contrast to other approaches, accounts for the elastic deformation of the substrate, causes the dependence between the critical bending stress and the stiffness of the foundation.  相似文献

We consider thermomechanical bending of an elastoplastic circular (solid or annular) light-filler sandwich plate resting on an elastic base. The hypotheses of broken normal are used to describe the kinematics of the plate stack nonsymmetric along the thickness. The base reaction is described by the Winkler model. We obtain the system of equilibrium equations and its exact solution in terms of displacements. We also present numerical results for a sandwich annular metal-polymer plate.  相似文献
