Diffraction of a two-shock configuration by a concave cylindrical surface with a continuously varying angle of diffraction
in a perfect (inviscid and non-heat-conducting) gas is numerically investigated. Peculiarities of flow formation in the perturbed
region due to a large initial angle of diffraction are revealed. The reasons for the appearance of the reverse flow over the
cylindrical surface, which causes a vortex, are found. The influence of the vortex on the behavior of the loose end of the
TU layer (slipstream) is studied. It is shown that the structure of the loose end of the TU layer is determined by vortex-related mixing in the gas. The nonstationary interaction of the diffracting shock wave and
a sublayer shock with a concave cylindrical wall and the symmetry plane, which is accompanied by a change in the type of reflection,
is examined.

We reduce the rigorously formulated problem of diffraction of a plane electromagnetic wave by a perfectly conducting cylindrical
wedge with a rounded apex to solving the system of linear algebraic equations of the second kind for unknown coefficients
of the Fourier expansions of the diffracted-field components. The expansion coefficients are determined analytically in the
long-wavelength approximation. The results of calculations of the diffracted field in the far zone are presented with a given
accuracy in the case of an E-polarized wave. It is shown that the rounding of the apex of a cylindrical wedge leads to an
increase in the backscattering coefficient of the structure in the long-wavelength range.

The diffraction of a plane wave by a cylindrical shell with two inertial masses attached symmetrically (at = ±1) to its surface is investigated. The frequency response characteristics of the scattered field are calculated for a shell equipped with diametrically opposite masses (1 = /2) and driven only by symmetric (about the plane =0, =) modes of vibration. It is established that the level of the scattered field in the interval of frequencies corresponding to even symmetric mode orders increases upon transition from the model with a single local mass (at =) to the model with two masses (at =±/2) (i.e., with a split inhomogeneity). At the frequencies of odd modes the scattered field coincides with the field of the homogeneous shell. The problem of the diffraction of a zero-order convergent cylindrical wave by a cylindrical shell with a longitudinal fixation along one of its generatrices is considered. The problem is solved on the basis of using the so-called helical waves, which are aperiodic eigensolutions to the equations of the shell motion. The diffraction field is represented in the form of a convergent series in cylindrical harmonics. The method of the solution allows for a generalization to several cases of longitudinal fixation with conditions of different forms. In this paper we have proposed a technique based on image analysis of the surface plasmon excitation at the metal-dielectric interface of inside silver coated fused silica capillary glass tube. Chemical deposition technique has been used for the deposition of silver. Angular interrogation in Kretschmann-like configuration is realized by non-radial transverse illumination of this cylindrical dielectric-metal-dielectric (C-DMD) structure with a He–Ne laser source. Here the uniform film deposition of the inside surface of the capillary is not that crucial except within the transversely illuminated working area concerned. Moreover, the proposed technique has been validated experimentally for sensing different aqueous dielectric samples inserted inside the tube. 相似文献
