Let ${\mathcal{P}}$ be a nonparametric probability model consisting of smooth probability densities and let ${\hat{p}_{n}}$ be the corresponding maximum likelihood estimator based on n independent observations each distributed according to the law ${\mathbb{P}}$ . With $\hat{\mathbb{P}}_{n}$ denoting the measure induced by the density ${\hat{p}_{n}}$ , define the stochastic process ${\hat{\nu}}_{n}: f\longmapsto \sqrt{n} \int fd({\hat{\mathbb{P}}}_{n} -\mathbb{P})$ where f ranges over some function class ${\mathcal{F}}$ . We give a general condition for Donsker classes ${\mathcal{F}}$ implying that the stochastic process $\hat{\nu}_{n}$ is asymptotically equivalent to the empirical process in the space ${\ell ^{\infty }(\mathcal{F})}$ of bounded functions on ${ \mathcal{F}}$ . This implies in particular that $\hat{\nu}_{n}$ converges in law in ${\ell ^{\infty }(\mathcal{F})}$ to a mean zero Gaussian process. We verify the general condition for a large family of Donsker classes ${\mathcal{ F}}$ . We give a number of applications: convergence of the probability measure ${\hat{\mathbb{P}}_{n}}$ to ${\mathbb{P}}$ at rate ${\sqrt{n}}$ in certain metrics metrizing the topology of weak(-star) convergence; a unified treatment of convergence rates of the MLE in a continuous scale of Sobolev-norms; ${\sqrt{n}}$ -efficient estimation of nonlinear functionals defined on ${\mathcal{P}}$ ; limit theorems at rate ${\sqrt{n}}$ for the maximum likelihood estimator of the convolution product ${\mathbb{P\ast P}}$ .  相似文献

Denote the integer lattice points in the \(N\) -dimensional Euclidean space by \(\mathbb {Z}^N\) and assume that \(X_\mathbf{n}\) , \(\mathbf{n} \in \mathbb {Z}^N\) is a linear random field. Sharp rates of convergence of histogram estimates of the marginal density of \(X_\mathbf{n}\) are obtained. Histograms can achieve optimal rates of convergence \(({\hat{\mathbf{n}}}^{-1} \log {\hat{\mathbf{n}}})^{1/3}\) where \({\hat{\mathbf{n}}}=n_1 \times \cdots \times n_N\) . The assumptions involved can easily be checked. Histograms appear to be very simple and good estimators from the point of view of uniform convergence.  相似文献

We consider a discrete Schr?dinger operator ${\mathcal{J}}$ whose potential is the sum of a Wigner-von Neumann term ${\frac{c\sin(2\omega n+\delta)}n}$ and a summable term. The essential spectrum of the operator ${\mathcal{J}}$ is equal to the interval [?2, 2]. Inside this interval, there are two critical points ${\pm2\cos\omega}$ where eigenvalues may be situated. We prove that, generically, the spectral density of ${\mathcal{J}}$ has zeroes of the power ${\frac{|c|}{2|\sin\omega|}}$ at these points.  相似文献

Let ${\mathcal{A}}$ be a ${\mathbb{C}}$ -algebra, δ be a derivation on ${\mathcal{A}}$ and ${\mathcal{M}}$ be a left ${\mathcal{A}}$ -module. A linear map ${\tau : \mathcal{M} \rightarrow \mathcal{M}}$ is called a generalized derivation relative to δ if ${\tau(am)=a\tau(m)+\delta(a)m\,(a \in \mathcal{A}, m \in \mathcal{M})}$ . In this article first we study the existence of generalized derivations. In particular we show that free modules and projective modules always have nontrivial generalized derivations relative to nonzero derivations of ${\mathcal{A}}$ . Then we investigate the invariance of prime submodules under generalized derivations. Specifically we show that every minimal prime submodule of ${\mathcal{M}}$ is invariant under every generalized derivation. Moreover we obtain analogs of Posner’s theorem for generalized derivations. In the case that ${\mathcal{A}}$ is a Banach algebra and ${\mathcal{M}}$ is a Banach left ${\mathcal{A}}$ -module, we study the existence of continuous generalized derivations and automatic continuity of generalized derivations.  相似文献

We consider semi-discrete first-order finite difference schemes for a nonlinear degenerate convection?Cdiffusion equations in one space dimension, and prove an L 1 error estimate. Precisely, we show that the ${L^1_{\rm{loc}}}$ difference between the approximate solution and the unique entropy solution converges at a rate ${\mathcal{O}(\Delta x^{1/11})}$ , where ${\Delta x}$ is the spatial mesh size. If the diffusion is linear, we get the convergence rate ${\mathcal{O}(\Delta x^{1/2})}$ , the point being that the ${\mathcal{O}}$ is independent of the size of the diffusion.  相似文献

Let a trace be a computably enumerable set of natural numbers such that ${V^{[m]} = \{n : \langle n, m\rangle \in V \}}$ V [ m ] = { n : 〈 n , m 〉 ∈ V } is finite for all m, where ${\langle^{.},^{.}\rangle}$ 〈 . , . 〉 denotes an appropriate pairing function. After looking at some basic properties of traces like that there is no uniform enumeration of all traces, we prove varied results on traceability and variants thereof, where a function ${f : \mathbb{N} \rightarrow \mathbb{N}}$ f : N → N is traceable via a trace V if for all ${m, \langle f(m), m\rangle \in V.}$ m , 〈 f ( m ) , m 〉 ∈ V . Then we turn to lattices $$\textit{\textbf{L}}_{tr}(V) = (\{W : V \subseteq W \, {\rm and} \, W \, {\rm a} \, {\rm trace}\}, \, \subseteq),$$ L t r ( V ) = ( { W : V ? W and W a trace } , ? ) , V a trace. Here, we study the close relationship to ${\mathcal{E} = (\{A : A \subseteq \mathbb{N} \quad c.e.\}, \subseteq)}$ E = ( { A : A ? N c . e . } , ? ) , automorphisms, isomorphisms, and isomorphic embeddings.  相似文献

We prove that the natural embedding of the metric ideal space on a finite von Neumann algebra $\mathcal{M}$ into the *-algebra of measurable operators $\tilde {\mathcal {M}}$ endowed with the topology of convergence in measure is continuous. Using this fact, we prove that the topology of convergence in measure is a minimal one among all metrizable topologies consistent with the ring structure on $\tilde {\mathcal {M}}$ .  相似文献

In this paper we consider a new notion of ${\mathfrak{D}^{\bot}}$ -parallel shape operator for real hypersurfaces in complex two-plane Grassmannians ${G_2(\mathbb{C}^{m+2})}$ and give a non-existence theorem for a Hopf hypersurface in ${G_2(\mathbb{C}^{m+2})}$ with ${\mathfrak{D}^{\bot}}$ -parallel shape operator.  相似文献

This paper addresses the question of retrieving the triple ${(\mathcal X,\mathcal P, E)}$ from the algebraic geometry code ${\mathcal C = \mathcal C_L(\mathcal X, \mathcal P, E)}$ , where ${\mathcal X}$ is an algebraic curve over the finite field ${\mathbb F_q, \,\mathcal P}$ is an n-tuple of ${\mathbb F_q}$ -rational points on ${\mathcal X}$ and E is a divisor on ${\mathcal X}$ . If ${\deg(E)\geq 2g+1}$ where g is the genus of ${\mathcal X}$ , then there is an embedding of ${\mathcal X}$ onto ${\mathcal Y}$ in the projective space of the linear series of the divisor E. Moreover, if ${\deg(E)\geq 2g+2}$ , then ${I(\mathcal Y)}$ , the vanishing ideal of ${\mathcal Y}$ , is generated by ${I_2(\mathcal Y)}$ , the homogeneous elements of degree two in ${I(\mathcal Y)}$ . If ${n >2 \deg(E)}$ , then ${I_2(\mathcal Y)=I_2(\mathcal Q)}$ , where ${\mathcal Q}$ is the image of ${\mathcal P}$ under the map from ${\mathcal X}$ to ${\mathcal Y}$ . These three results imply that, if ${2g+2\leq m < \frac{1}{2}n}$ , an AG representation ${(\mathcal Y, \mathcal Q, F)}$ of the code ${\mathcal C}$ can be obtained just using a generator matrix of ${\mathcal C}$ where ${\mathcal Y}$ is a normal curve in ${\mathbb{P}^{m-g}}$ which is the intersection of quadrics. This fact gives us some clues for breaking McEliece cryptosystem based on AG codes provided that we have an efficient procedure for computing and decoding the representation obtained.  相似文献

We investigate the rate of convergence of Fourier series on the classes $L^{\bar \psi } $ N in the uniform and integral metrics. The results obtained are extended to the case where the classes $L^{\bar \psi } $ N are the classes of convolutions of functions from N with kernels with slowly decreasing coefficients. In particular, we obtain asymptotic equalities for the upper bounds of deviations of the Fourier sums on the sets $L^{\bar \psi } $ N which are solutions of the Kolmogorov-Nikol’skii problem. In addition, we establish an analog of the well-known Lebesgue inequality.  相似文献

For real ${L_\infty(\mathbb{R})}$ -functions ${\Phi}$ and ${\Psi}$ of compact support, we prove the norm resolvent convergence, as ${\varepsilon}$ and ${\nu}$ tend to 0, of a family ${S_{\varepsilon \nu}}$ of one-dimensional Schrödinger operators on the line of the form $$S_{\varepsilon \nu} = -\frac{d^2}{dx^2} + \frac{\alpha}{\varepsilon^2} \Phi \left( \frac{x}{\varepsilon} \right) + \frac{\beta}{\nu} \Psi \left(\frac{x}{\nu} \right),$$ provided the ratio ${\nu/\varepsilon}$ has a finite or infinite limit. The limit operator S 0 depends on the shape of ${\Phi}$ and ${\Psi}$ as well as on the limit of ratio ${\nu/\varepsilon}$ . If the potential ${\alpha\Phi}$ possesses a zero-energy resonance, then S 0 describes a non trivial point interaction at the origin. Otherwise S 0 is the direct sum of the Dirichlet half-line Schrödinger operators.  相似文献

Tensor data are becoming important recently in various application fields. In this paper, we consider the maximal rank problem of 3-tensors and extend Atkinson and Stephens’ and Atkinson and Lloyd’s results over the real number field. We also prove the assertion of Atkinson and Stephens: ${{\rm max.rank}_{\mathbb{R}}(m,n,p) \leq m+\lfloor p/2\rfloor n}$ , ${{\rm max.rank}_{\mathbb{R}}(n,n,p) \leq (p+1)n/2}$ if p is even, ${{\rm max.rank}_{\mathbb{F}}(n,n,3)\leq 2n-1}$ if ${\mathbb{F}=\mathbb{C}}$ or n is odd, and ${{\rm max.rank}_{\mathbb{F}}(m,n,3)\leq m+n-1}$ if m < n where ${\mathbb{F}}$ stands for ${\mathbb{R}}$ or ${\mathbb{C}}$ .  相似文献

We introduce two new algorithms that lead to finite or infinite series expansions for complex number in terms of ‘integral digits’ within the complex quadratic fields ? \(\left( {\sqrt { - m} } \right)\) , form=1, 2,…, 11. In particular, we derive complex number representations as sums of reciprocal of Gaussion integers and as sums of reciprocals of algebraic integers in ? \(\left( {\sqrt { - m} } \right)\) , form=2, 3, 7 and 11. In addition to convergence of the various algorithms we investigate the representation of ‘rationals’ relative to the fields ? \(\left( {\sqrt { - m} } \right)\) , form=1, 2, 3, 7 and 11.  相似文献

Let ${x: M^{m} \rightarrow \mathbb{S}^{m+1}}$ be an m-dimensional umbilic-free hypersurface in an (m?+?1)-dimensional unit sphere ${\mathbb{S}^{m+1}}$ , with standard metric I?= dx · dx. Let II be the second fundamental form of isometric immersion x. Define the positive function ${\rho=\sqrt{\frac{m}{m-1}}\|II-\frac{1}{m}tr(II)I\|}$ . Then positive definite (0,2) tensor ${\mathbf{g}=\rho^{2}I}$ is invariant under conformal transformations of ${\mathbb{S}^{m+1}}$ and is called M?bius metric. The curvature induced by the metric g is called M?bius curvature. The purpose of this paper is to classify the hypersurfaces with constant M?bius curvature.  相似文献

A homogeneous ideal I of a polynomial ring S is said to have the Rees property if, for any homogeneous ideal ${J \subset S}$ which contains I, the number of generators of J is smaller than or equal to that of I. A homogeneous ideal ${I \subset S}$ is said to be ${\mathfrak{m}}$ -full if ${\mathfrak{m}I:y=I}$ for some ${y \in \mathfrak{m}}$ , where ${\mathfrak{m}}$ is the graded maximal ideal of ${S}$ . It was proved by one of the authors that ${\mathfrak{m}}$ -full ideals have the Rees property and that the converse holds in a polynomial ring with two variables. In this note, we give examples of ideals which have the Rees property but are not ${\mathfrak{m}}$ -full in a polynomial ring with more than two variables. To prove this result, we also show that every Artinian monomial almost complete intersection in three variables has the Sperner property.  相似文献

We study the following nonlinear elliptic system of Lane–Emden type $$\left\{\begin{array}{ll} -\Delta u = {\rm sgn}(v) |v| ^{p-1} \qquad \qquad \qquad \; {\rm in} \; \Omega , \\ -\Delta v = - \lambda {\rm sgn} (u)|u| \frac{1}{p-1} + f(x, u)\; \; {\rm in}\; \Omega , \\ u = v = 0 \qquad \qquad \qquad \quad \quad \;\;\;\;\; {\rm on}\; \partial \Omega , \end{array}\right.$$ where ${\lambda \in \mathbb{R}}$ . If ${\lambda \geq 0}$ and ${\Omega}$ is an unbounded cylinder, i.e., ${\Omega = \tilde \Omega \times \mathbb{R}^{N-m} \subset \mathbb{R}^{N}}$ , ${N - m \geq 2, m \geq 1}$ , existence and multiplicity results are proved by means of the Principle of Symmetric Criticality and some compact imbeddings in partially spherically symmetric spaces. We are able to state existence and multiplicity results also if ${\lambda \in \mathbb{R}}$ and ${\Omega}$ is a bounded domain in ${\mathbb{R}^{N}, N \geq 3}$ . In particular, a good finite dimensional decomposition of the Banach space in which we work is given.  相似文献

Let ${\mathbf{delta}_{\mathcal S,\lambda}}$ denote the Floyd metric on a discrete group G generated by a finite set ${\mathcal S}$ with respect to the scaling function f n ?= λ n for a positive λ <?1. We prove that if G is relatively hyperbolic with respect to a collection ${\mathcal P}$ of subgroups then there exists λ such that the identity map ${G\to G}$ extends to a continuous equivariant map from the completion with respect to ${\mathbf{\delta}_{\mathcal S,\lambda}}$ to the Bowditch completion of G with respect to ${\mathcal P}$ . In order to optimize the proof and the usage of the map theorem we propose two new definitions of relative hyperbolicity equivalent to the other known definitions. In our approach some “visibility” conditions in graphs are essential. We introduce a class of “visibility actions” that contains the class of relatively hyperbolic actions. The convergence property still holds for the visibility actions. Let a locally compact group G act on a compactum Λ with convergence property and on a locally compact Hausdorff space Ω properly and cocomactly. Then the topologies on Λ and Ω extend uniquely to a topology on the direct union ${T=\Lambda{\sqcup}\Omega}$ making T a compact Hausdorff space such that the action ${G{\curvearrowright}T}$ has convergence property. We call T the attractor sum of Λ and Ω.  相似文献

A ${\forall\exists!}$ -sentence is a sentence of the form ${\forall x_{1}\cdots x_{n}\exists!y_{1}\cdots y_{m}O(\overline{x},\overline{y})}$ , where O is a quantifier-free formula, and ${\exists!}$ stands for ??there exist unique??. We prove that if ${\mathcal{C}}$ is (up to isomorphism) a finite class of finite models then ${\mathcal{C}}$ is axiomatizable by a set of ${\forall\exists!}$ -sentences if and only if ${\mathcal{C}}$ is closed under isomorphic images, ${\mathcal{C}}$ has the intersection property, and ${\mathcal{C}}$ is closed under fixed-point submodels. This result is employed to characterize the subclasses of finitely generated discriminator varieties axiomatizable by sentences of the form ${\forall\exists!\bigwedge p=q}$ .  相似文献
