The effect of Ta contents on the corrosion performance of Mo3Si intermetallic in 0.5 M NaCl has been evaluated. Materials included Mo3Si plus 5, 17, 53, 60, and 74 at% Ta. Techniques included potentiodynamic polarization curves and linear polarization resistance curves. Except for 74 at% Ta, additions of Ta induced a passive region, decreasing the anodic current density, the free corrosion potential, the pitting potential, and the corrosion current density.  相似文献

The phase diagrams of ACl/MoCl3 (A=Na, K, Rb, Cs) were elucidated by DTA measurements in sealed quartz ampoules in the range of 0–40 mol% MoCl3. The samples were prepared from alkali metal chlorides and the compounds A3MoCl6 or A3Mo2Cl9. The 31 compounds withA=Na, Rb, Cs were obtained by sintering mixtures of 3ACl+MoCl3; the enneachlorides A3Mo2Cl9 withA=K, Rb, Cs were precipitated from solutions of MoCl3·3H2O and ACl in formic acid. Congruently melting compounds A3MoCl6 exist in all four systems, incongruently melting enneachlorides A3Mo2Cl9 in systems withA=K, Rb, Cs. Still unknown structures were determined by analog-indexing powder patterns according to known structure families. Especially Cs3MoCl6 is isotypic with the recently found Cs3CrCl6 structure. Additionally, the unit cell parameters were determined for the compounds A3MoCl5·H2O (A=K, Rb, Cs) analogous to Cs2TiCl5·H2O, whose structure was determined by single crystal measurements.Dedicated to Prof. Menachem Steinberg on the occasion of his 65th birthday  相似文献

The Hückel equation used in this study to correlate the experimental activities of dilute alkali metal nitrate solutions up to a molality of about 1.5 mol · kg−1 contains two parameters being dependent on the electrolyte: B [that is related closely to the ion-size parameter (a∗) in the Debye–Hückel equation] and b1 (this parameter is the coefficient of the linear term with respect to the molality and this coefficient is related to hydration numbers of the ions of the electrolyte). In more concentrated solutions up to a molality of 7 mol · kg−1, an extended Hückel equation was used, and it contains additionally a quadratic term with respect to the molality and the coefficient of this term is parameter b2. All parameter values for the Hückel equations of LiNO3, NaNO3, and KNO3 were determined from the isopiestic data measured by Robinson for solutions of these salts against KCl solutions [J. Am. Chem. Soc. 57 (1935) 1165]. In these estimations, the Hückel parameters determined recently for KCl solutions [J. Chem. Eng. Data 54 (2009) 208] were used. The Hückel parameters for RbNO3 and CsNO3 were determined from the reported osmotic coefficients of Robinson [J. Am. Chem. Soc. 59 (1937) 84]. The resulting parameter values were tested with the vapour pressure and isopiestic data existing in the literature for alkali metal nitrate solutions. These data support well the recommended Hückel parameters up to a molality of 7.0 mol · kg−1 for LiNO3 and NaNO3, up to 4.5 mol · kg−1 for RbNO3, up to 3.5 mol · kg−1 for KNO3, and up to 1.4 mol · kg−1 for CsNO3 solutions. Reliable activity and osmotic coefficients of alkali metal nitrate solutions can, therefore, be calculated by using the new Hückel equations, and they have been tabulated at rounded molalities. The activity and osmotic coefficients obtained from these equations were compared to the values suggested by Robinson and Stokes [Electrolyte Solutions, second ed., Butterworths Scientific Publications, London, 1959], to those calculated by using the Pitzer equations with the parameter values of Pitzer and Mayorga [J. Phys. Chem. 77 (1973) 2300], and to those calculated by using the extended Hückel equation of Hamer and Wu [J. Phys. Chem. Ref. Data 1 (1972) 1047].  相似文献

Differential mutual diffusion coefficients of n-alkyltrimethylammonium bromides [CH3(CH2)n–1N(CH3)3Br, CnTAB] (n=10, 12, 14, 16) have been measured in aqueous solutions at 298.15 K using a conductimetric cell and an automatic apparatus to follow diffusion. The cell is based on an open-ended capillary, and the technique follows the diffusion process by measuring the resistance of a solution inside the capillaries at various times. The electrical conductances of those solutions have also been measured to calculate the critical micellar concentration (cmc). Thermodynamic analysis of the data suggests that the free ion concentration decreases at concentrations above the cmc, in agreement with theoretical predictions. The obtained values of the micellization parameters were used to model the mutual diffusion coefficients of CnTAB aqueous solutions.  相似文献

Vapor pressure measurements have been made by the static method on the system (Ag, Tl, Cs)NO3+H2O in the water-poor region at 98.5°C. The Ag/Tl ratio was maintained at 1.06, and the cesium content of the melt was varied between 2.5 and 10 mole %. The water activity data for each series conformed to a form of the B.E.T. equation adapted to electrolyte solutions. The B.E.T. constants changed in a regular manner as Cs replaced Ag/Tl in the melt, and also conformed to the simple additivity rules previously found to hold in similar systems [(Ag, Tl, M)NO3+H2O (M=Ca or Cd)]. The relative capacity for hydration of CsNO3 and other salts is discussed briefly with reference to the B.E.T. constants and Henry's law constants for water dissolved in molten salt.To whom correspondence should be addressed.  相似文献

Gamma radiolysis of oxygenated 1–10 mM azide solutions was carried out at various pH values. In oxygenated 10 mM azide solutions, H2O2 and NO 2 were observed as radiolytic products while NH3 was not. The concentration of H2O2 reached its maximum level at a dose of 1 kGy, whereas NO 2 yield increased non-linearly beyond 2 kGy in this system. Both in aerated and oxygenated systems, G(NO 2 ) and G(H2O2) were found to vary with N 3 concentration. The yield of NO 2 was found to be dependent on both dose rate and pH. On pulse radiolysis, NO 2 was found as a radiolytic product in aerated 1 mM azide solution at pH 6.8. In this system the intermediate generated exhibits absorbance around 250 nm. The overall results obtained during the present study reveal that in presence of both reducing radical (mainly e aq ) and oxygen, N 3 produced an intermediate possibly NH2O 2 radical, which is the prime source for NO 2 generation.  相似文献

Many attempts have been made to make the zinc-manganese dioxide (Zn-MnO2) alkaline cell rechargeable, but all investigations are pertained to the proton insertion mechanism into MnO2. In this paper, a new class of rechargeable bismuth oxide-doped MnO2 electrode in lithium hydroxide (LiOH) electrolyte is described. The doping and the appropriate pH selection of the aqueous electrolyte improved the electrochemical performance of the aqueous cell. Hence, with an aim to understand the role of bismuth oxide (Bi2O3) during the discharge process, doped MnO2 cathodes are characterized by various techniques like secondary ion mass spectrometry, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy analysis. The results suggest that the influence of the large radius of the cation (Bi2O3; Bi (III) ion (0.96 Å)) cannot be integrated into the spinel structure, thereby, improving the rechargeability. The electrode reaction of doped MnO2 in LiOH electrolyte is shown to be lithium insertion while preventing the formation of a spinel structure that leads to a major formation of manganese oxy hydroxides.  相似文献

The near infrared spectra of water in aqueous solutions of La(ClO4)3, Pr(ClO4)3, Nd(ClO4)3, Gd(ClO4)3, Er(ClO4)3, Yb(ClO4)3, Lu(ClO4)3, and NaClO4 have been measured in the concentration range from 0.3 to 2.5 mol-dm–3, at 25°C. The relative contents of free OH groups in the 1.0, 1.6, and 2.2M solutions have been calculated from extinction coefficients for water at 1160 nm. They increase with increasing salt concentration and are greater in solutions of the lighter lanthanide perchlorates at any fixed molarity. The results are discussed in terms of the stoichiometry and structure of hydrated cations of trivalent lanthanides.  相似文献

Electrocrystallizations of copper from both CuCl2 silica sol and aqueous solutions were studied by the chronoamperometry technique.It was found that current density contributions of the double-layer charging(iDL) in current-time transients(CTTs) from both of the solutions were large.An adsorption-nucleation based model was proposed to analyze quantitatively the CTTs,by which copper electrocrystallization mechanism was characterized as progressive nucleation with 3D growth(3DP) under diffusion control.The diffusion coefficient of copper ions and the ANproducts in aqueous solutions were larger than that in silica sols, which indicated that copper nucleation was inhibited in sol solution.The large iDL may be resulted from the adsorption of chloride ions on the electrode surface.  相似文献

The electrical conductivities of aqueous solutions of NaCF3SO3, KCF3SO3, and Ni(CF3SO3)2 have been measured at 25‡C in the concentration range 1 to 25X 10-3 mol-dm-3 The data approach the Onsager limiting law at low concentrations, leading to a limiting molar ion conductivity for the CF3SO 3 ion of 44.5±0.2 S-cm2-mol-1, based on standard values for the cations. Using a simple size parameter for unsymmetrical polyatomic ions, based on the ion geometry, it is shown that the well known empirical relation between the molar conductivities of symmetrical ions and their radii can be extended to include certain polyatomic anions including CF3SO 3 . The results suggest that the CF3SO 3 ion is either a weak structure breaker in aqueous solution or neutral in this respect.  相似文献

Sulfur/oxygen-bridged incomplete cubane-type triphenylphosphine molybdenum and tungsten-clusters [Mo3S4Cl4(H2O)2(PPh3)3]·3THF (1A), [Mo3S4Cl4(H2O)2(PPh3)3]·2THF (2A), [Mo3OS3Cl4(H2O)2(PPh3)3]·2THF (1B), and [W3S4Cl4(H2O)2(PPh3)3]·2THF (1C) were prepared from the corresponding aqua clusters and PPh3 in THF/MeOH. On recrystallization from THF, procedures with and without addition of hexane to the solution gave 1A and 2A, respectively, while the procedures gave no effect on the formation of 1B and 1C. Crystallographic results obtained are as follows: 1A: monoclinic, P21/n, a=17.141(4) Å, b=22.579(5) Å, c=19.069(4) Å, =96.18(2)°, V=7337(3) Å3, Z=4, R(R w)=0.078(0.102); 1C: monoclinic, P2 1/c, a=12.635(1) Å, b=20.216(4) Å, c=27.815(3) Å, =96.16(1)°, V=7062(2) Å3, Z=4, R(R w)=0.071(0.083). If the phenyl groups are ignored, the molecule [Mo3S4Cl4(H2O)2(PPh3)3] in 2A has idealized CS symmetry with the mirror plane perpendicular to the plane determined by the metal atoms, while the molecule in 1A does not have the symmetry. The tungsten compound 1C is isomorphous with the molybdenum compound 2A. 31P NMR spectra of 1A, 2A, and 1C were obtained and compared with similar clusters with dmpe (1,2-bis(dimethylphosphino)ethane) ligands.  相似文献

The near infrared spectra of aqueous solutions of the ethylsulfates of La, Nd, Gd, Tb, Er, Yb, Lu, Y, and Na have been determined from about 0.2 mol-dm–3 to nearly saturation. The extinction coefficients of water have been calculated taking into account the absorption of ethylslfate anions determined in separate experiments. Their values appeared to be nearly the same as that of pure water. The relative contents of free OH groups in 0.5 and 0.7M solutions have been estimated from the absorbances at 1160 nm. They were lower in solutions of the heavy rare-earth ethylsulfates (Tb, Er, Yb, Lu) than in equimolar solutions of the lighter ones (La, Nd), confirming our previous view that secondary hydration of the heavy trivalent rare-earth cations is distinctly stronger than that of the lighter ones. A comparison of the spectra of these aqueous ethylsulfates with those of perchlorates shows that the structure-breaking ability of the C2H5SO 4 ion is much smaller than that of perchlorate anion.  相似文献

In this paper, a simple and efficient preparation of β-fluoroenones, as a mixture of E/Z isomers with the E-isomer as the main product, from 1,2-allenic ketones by using TBAF·3H2O in water as a nucleophilic fluorination agent has been developed. Moreover, in exploring the synthetic applications of β-fluoroenones, an unprecedented reductive defluorination rearrangement of β-fluoroenones toward enones under mild conditions in aqueous media was also discovered.  相似文献

Alumina supported Mo and Pt-Mo catalysts was subject to temperature programmed reduction (TPR) using H2 and CO. After earlier oxidation step TPR–H2 profiles shows different surface species, which depends on the composition of the catalysts and reduction temperature. Change in reducing gas from H2 into CO results in significant changes in catalyst system. Hydrogen causes a decrease in oxidation number of metals, while carbon monoxide reacts with chemisorbed chemicals.  相似文献

This is the first exhaustive report on the variation of stereoselectivity ratios for a simple Diels-Alder reaction between cyclopentadiene and methyl acrylate. The reaction was carried out in aqueous mixtures of methanol, ethanol, propan-1-ol and butan-1-ol in presence of LiClO4, LiCl, NaCl, KCl, CaCl2 and MgCl2. The endo stereoisomer decreases with the increase in carbon chain length of the alcohol. However, LiClO4, a salting-in agent in water becomes salting-out in aqueous mixtures of alcohols. The solvent properties, thus can be attuned by adjusting the amount of solvents and salts.  相似文献

The molybdenum bimetallic and trimetallic nitrides Pt2Mo3N and PdPtMo3N have been synthesized by ammonolysis of the stoichiometric amorphous precursor, obtained by freeze drying of aqueous solutions of the appropriate metal salts. These compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, energy-dispersive analysis of X-rays, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and thermogravimetry analysis under an oxygen atmosphere. Pt2Mo3N and PdPtMo3N crystallize in the cubic space group P4132 (213), with lattice parameters of a=6.83586(4) and 6.82542(3) Å, respectively, and form with the unusual filled β-manganese structure. These compounds are stable under air up to 580 K, the oxidation being complete at 910 K.  相似文献

Catalyzed by PdCl2, SnCl2 can efficiently mediate the allylation of various aldehydes with allyl chloride or bromide, but not with allyl alcohol, in fully aqueous media. Raman and IR data for aqueous CdSO4 and (NH4)2SO4 solutions have been recorded over broad concentration and temperature ranges. Whereas the v1-SO 4 2– band profile is symmetrical in (NH4)2SO4 solutions, in CdSO4 solutions a shoulder appears on the high frequency side which increases in intensity with increasing concentration and temperature. The molar scattering coefficient of the v1-SO 4 2– band is the same for all forms of sulfate in (NH4)2SO4 and CdSO4 solutions and is independent of temperature up to 99°C. The high frequency shoulder is attributed to the formation of a contact ion pair [Cd2+OSO 3 2– ] (11 associate). Also the v3-SO 4 2– antisymmetric stretching mode shows a splitting in the CdSO4 solution. Further spectroscopic evidence for contact ion pair formation is provided by IR spectroscopy. No higher associates or anionic complexes are required to interpret the spectroscopic data. The degree of association has been measured as a function of concentration and temperature. The thermodynamic association constant, KA=0.15±0.05 kg-mol–1 at 25°C is estimated from the Raman data by an extrapolation procedure by taking account of the activity coefficients. Values are reported for the activity coefficient of the ion pair. From the Raman temperature dependence studies, the enthalpy of formation for the contact ion pair is estimated to be 10±1 kJ-mol–1.  相似文献

The enthalpies of dilution have been measured for aqueous Li2B4O7 solutions from 0.0212 to 2.1530 mol kg−1 at 298.15 K. The relative apparent molar enthalpies, L?, and relative partial molar enthalpies of the solvent and solute, and were calculated. Omeprazole is a potent anti-acid drug. Its absorption and mode of action are closely related to its prototropic behavior. In the present study, omeprazole samples from different sources and in different forms were studied spectrophotometrically to obtain pKa values. In the neutral to alkaline pH region, two consistent pKa values of 7.1 and 14.7 were obtained from various samples. The assignment of these pKa values was realized by comparison with the prototropic properties of N(1)-methylated omeprazole substituted on the nitrogen at the 1-position of the benzimidazole ring, which was found to have a pKa of 7.5. The omeprazole pKa of 14.7 is assigned to the dissociation of the hydrogen from the 1-position of the benzimidazole ring and the pKa of 7.1 is assigned to the dissociation from the protonated pyridine nitrogen of omeprazole. The results presented are at variance with those of earlier work.  相似文献
