A basic problem in the theory of simple games and other fields is to study whether a simple game (Boolean function) is weighted (linearly separable). A second related problem consists in studying whether a weighted game has a minimum integer realization. In this paper we simultaneously analyze both problems by using linear programming. For less than 9 voters, we find that there are 154 weighted games without minimum integer realization, but all of them have minimum normalized realization. Isbell in 1958 was the first to find a weighted game without a minimum normalized realization, he needed to consider 12 voters to construct a game with such a property. The main result of this work proves the existence of weighted games with this property with less than 12 voters. We study a class of elliptic functions associated with the hypergeometric function ${_{2}}F_{1}(\frac{1}{6},\frac{5}{6};1;z)$ . From the perspective of the properties of conformal mappings and differential equations, we provide new insight into a set of identities of Ramanujan associated with the above hypergeometric function.  相似文献

The Baum-Bott map associates to a foliation the Baum-Bott indexes of their singularities. In this paper we study the fibers of the Baum-Bott map in the space of foliations of degree two on the projective plane ℙ2. In the main result we prove that its generic fiber contains exactly 240 orbits of the natural action of Aut(ℙ2) onthespace of foliations.  相似文献

Let B?=?(B 1(t), . . . ,B d (t)) be a d-dimensional fractional Brownian motion with Hurst index ???<?1/4, or more generally a Gaussian process whose paths have the same local regularity. Defining properly iterated integrals of B is a difficult task because of the low H?lder regularity index of its paths. Yet rough path theory shows it is the key to the construction of a stochastic calculus with respect to B, or to solving differential equations driven by B. We intend to show in a series of papers how to desingularize iterated integrals by a weak, singular non-Gaussian perturbation of the Gaussian measure defined by a limit in law procedure. Convergence is proved by using ??standard?? tools of constructive field theory, in particular cluster expansions and renormalization. These powerful tools allow optimal estimates and call for an extension of Gaussian tools such as, for instance, the Malliavin calculus. After a first introductory paper (Magnen and Unterberger in From constructive theory to fractional stochastic calculus. (I) An introduction: rough path theory and perturbative heuristics, 2011), this one concentrates on the details of the constructive proof of convergence for second-order iterated integrals, also known as Lévy area. Let ${2\leq k\in \mathbb{N}}$ . Recently, Costantini and Zacher obtained a lattice-theoretic characterization of the classes ${\mathfrak{N}^k}$ of finite soluble groups with nilpotent length at most k. It is the aim of this paper to give a lattice-theoretic characterization of the classes ${\mathfrak{N}^{k-1}\mathfrak{A}}$ of finite groups with commutator subgroup in ${\mathfrak{N}^{k-1}}$ ; in addition, our method also yields a new characterization of the classes ${\mathfrak{N}^k}$ . The main idea of our approach is to use two well-known theorems of Gaschütz on the Frattini and Fitting subgroups of finite groups.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the generalization of Lusztig’s q-analog of weight multiplicities to the Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{gl}(n,m)$ and $\mathfrak{spo(}2n,M).$ We define such q-analogs K λ,μ (q) for the typical modules and for the irreducible covariant tensor $\mathfrak{gl}(n,m)$ -modules of highest weight λ. For $\mathfrak{gl}(n,m),$ the defined polynomials have nonnegative integer coefficients if the weight μ is dominant. For $\mathfrak{spo(}2n,M)$ , we show that the positivity property holds when μ is dominant and sufficiently far from a specific wall of the fundamental chamber. We also establish that the q-analog associated to an irreducible covariant tensor $\mathfrak{gl}(n,m)$ -module of highest weight λ and a dominant weight μ is the generating series of a simple statistic on the set of semistandard hook-tableaux of shape λ and weight μ. This statistic can be regarded as a super analog of the charge statistic defined by Lascoux and Schützenberger.  相似文献

Let X be a v-set and ${\mathcal{B}}$ a collection of r × c arrays with elements in X. Two elements of X are collinear if they are on the same grid line (row or column). A pair ${(X, \mathcal{B})}$ is called an (r × c, λ) grid-block design if every two distinct elements in X are collinear exactly λ times in the arrays of ${\mathcal{B}}$ . This design has absorbed much attention due to its use in DNA library screening. In this paper, we prove that the necessary conditions for the existence of (2 × c, λ) grid-block designs of order v with ${c\in \{3, 4, 5\}}$ and any integer λ ≥ 1 are also sufficient.  相似文献

Zolotarev's First Problem is to determine $$\mathop {\min }\limits_{(a)} \mathop {\max }\limits_{ - 1 \le x \le 1} |x^n - n\sigma x^{n - 1} + a_2 x^{n - 2} + \cdots + a_n |$$ as a function ofn and the parameter σ and to find the extremal polynomials. He solved this in 1878. Another discussion was given by Achieser in 1928, and another by Erdös and Szegö in 1942. The case when 0≤|σ|≤ tan2(π/2n) is quite simple, but that for |σ|> tan2(π/2n) is quite different and very complicated. We give two new versions of the proof and discuss the change in character of the solution. Both make use of the Equal Ripple Theorem.  相似文献

Consider the sequence of algebraic integers un given by the starting values u0=0,u1=1 and the recurrence u_(n+1)=(4cos~2(2π/7)-1)u_n-u_(n-1).We prove that for any n ■{1,2,3,5,8,12,18,28,30}the n-th term of the sequence has a primitive divisor in Z[2 cos(2π/7)].As a consequence we deduce that for any sufficiently large n there exists a prime power q such that the groupcan be generated by a pair x,y with χ~2=y~3=(xy)~7=1 and the order of the commutator[x,y]is exactly n.The latter result answers in affirmative a question of Holt and Plesken.  相似文献

Fractional factorial split-plot (FFSP) designs have an important value of investigation for their special structures. There are two types of factors in an FFSP design: the whole-plot (WP) factors and sub-plot (SP) factors, which can form three types of two-factor interactions: WP2fi, WS2fi and SP2fi. This paper considers FFSP designs with resolutionⅢorⅣunder the clear effects criterion. It derives the upper and lower bounds on the maximum numbers of clear WP2fis and WS2fis for FFSP designs, and gives some methods for constructing the desired FFSP designs.
