Every year vast quantities of silver are lost in various waste streams; this, combined with its limited, diminishing supply and rising demand, makes silver recovery of increasing importance. Thus, herein, we report a controllable, green process to produce a host of highly porous metal–organic framework (MOF)/oligomer composites using supercritical carbon dioxide (ScCO2) as a medium. One resulting composite, referred to as MIL-127/Poly-o-phenylenediamine (PoPD), has an excellent Ag+ adsorption capacity, removal efficiency (>99 %) and provides rapid Ag+ extraction in as little as 5 min from complex liquid matrices. Notably, the composite can also reduce sliver concentrations below the levels (<0.1 ppm) established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Using theoretical simulations, we find that there are spatially ordered polymeric units inside the MOF that promote the complexation of Ag+ over other common competing ions. Moreover, the oligomer is able to reduce silver to its metallic state, also providing antibacterial properties.  相似文献

We demonstrate a new material by intercalating Mo3S132? into Mg/Al layered double hydroxide (abbr. Mo3S13-LDH), exhibiting excellent capture capability for toxic Hg2+ and noble metal silver (Ag). The as-prepared Mo3S13-LDH displays ultra-high selectivity of Ag+, Hg2+ and Cu2+ in the presence of various competitive ions, with the order of Ag+>Hg2+>Cu2+>Pb2+≥Co2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Cd2+. For Ag+ and Hg2+, extremely fast adsorption rates (≈90 % within 10 min, >99 % in 1 h) are observed. Much high selectivity is present for Ag+ and Cu2+, especially for trace amounts of Ag+ (≈1 ppm), achieving a large separation factor (SFAg/Cu) of ≈8000 at the large Cu/Ag ratio of 520. The overwhelming adsorption capacities for Ag+ (qmAg=1073 mg g?1) and Hg2+ (qmHg=594 mg g?1) place the Mo3S13-LDH at the top of performing sorbent materials. Most importantly, Mo3S13-LDH captures Ag+ via two paths: a) formation of Ag2S due to Ag-S complexation and precipitation, and b) reduction of Ag+ to metallic silver (Ag0). The Mo3S13-LDH is a promising material to extract low-grade silver from copper-rich minerals and trap highly toxic Hg2+ from polluted water.  相似文献

The polymerization of acrylonitrile was carried out using peroxydiphosphate-cyclohexanol redox system in the presence of silver ion. The rate of polymerization increases with increasing peroxydiphosphate concentration and the initiator exponent was computed to be 0.5. The rate of polymerization increases with increasing monomer concentration and the monomer exponent was computed to be unity. The plot of Rp vs [Ag+]1/2 was linear, indicating 0.5 order with respect to [Ag+]. The reaction was carried out at three different temperatures and the overall activation energy was calculated to be 7.60 kcal/mol. The effect of certain surfactants on the rate of polymerization has been investigated and a suitable kinetic scheme has been pictured.  相似文献

Pulse radiolysis of an aqueous solution of mono-valent thallium ion and mixed solutions of Tl+/Ag+ in the presence of various amino polycarboxylic acids such as trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane-N,N,N′,N′-tetraacetic acid (DCTA), diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA), N-(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediaminetriacetic acid (HEDTA) and triethylenetetraminehexaacetic acid (TTHA) has been carried out. Abnormal valence states of Tl ions were generated. It is concluded that DCTA, DTPA, HEDTA and TTHA decrease the redox potential of Tl ions in aqueous solutions. It was observed that the electron transfer from complexed Tl2+ to Ag+ varied in the range 7.5 × 108 to 1.0 × 109, depending on the type of complexing ligand. Electron transfer from Tl2+ to Ag+ lead to the formation of silver atoms, which agglomerate further to form silver colloid.  相似文献

An efficient, novel and convenient method for the synthesis of modified polyacrylonitrile (PAN) with antibacterial property is reported. The modification of PAN was prepared by a nitrile click chemistry reaction with sodium azide (NaN3) and silver nitrate (AgNO3) as catalyst to yield antibacterial polymeric materials with 5-vinyltetrazole units. The results showed that 5-vinyltetrazole units had coordinated with silver ion (Ag+). Through the electrostatic spinning technology, the post-modification PAN nanofibers (PAN–Ag+ nanofibers) were prepared and the fibers were tested for their antimicrobial properties by the bacterial infection experiment. Afterwards, the antibacterial and stable performance of different proportions of silver ions in PAN nanofibers has been compared. The PAN–Ag+ nanofibers are characterized for mechanical and thermomechanical properties, structural analysis, appearance characteristics, as well as the antibacterial properties. And the nanofibers exhibit marvelous chemical stability according to the thermogravimetric analysis. When at 800 °C, the PAN decomposed about 60%, while the decomposition of the PAN–Ag+s was 40%. Based on the bacterial infection experiment, PAN–Ag+ nanofibers’ antibacterial properties were stronger with the increase of silver ions, such as the number of bacteria clone was smaller and the bacteriostatic ring was larger. Hence, with combination of silver ions, the final polymers show strong antimicrobial properties.  相似文献

X-ray diffraction analysis of [Ag3(CHF2COO)3(H2O)2] revealed that its crystals are orthorhombic: space group Cmca, a = 13.809(4) Å, b = 15.975(2) Å, c = 12.244(2) Å, Z = 8. The thermogravimetric analysis showed that under the atmosphere of N2 and at 101.3 kPa, silver difluoroacetate melts at 488 K; the thermal decomposition reaction occurs in the interval 493–548 K with the formation of Ag. Under the mass-spectral experiment conditions at 521 K, two processes occur simultaneously, namely, evaporation and decomposition. The following ions were detected in the mass-spectrum of silver difluoroacetate: Ag2L+, Ag2R+, Ag2F+, Ag2O+, Ag2 +, Ag+, LH+, RCO+, R+ (L = CHF2COO, R = CHF2).  相似文献

In this study, we performed the first comparative study of the antibacterial mechanisms of silver ion (Ag+) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on Escherichia coli (E. coli) using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Through a thorough analysis of the FTIR spectra of E. coli after silver treatment in the spectral regions corresponding to thiol group, protein, lipopolysaccharide (LPS), and DNA, we were able to reveal a multifaceted antibacterial mechanism of silver at the molecular level for both Ag+ and AgNPs. Features of such mechanism include: (1) silver complexes with thiol group; (2) silver induces protein misfolding; (3) silver causes loss of LPS from bacterial membrane; (4) silver changes the overall conformation of DNA. Despite the similarities between Ag+ and AgNPs with respect to their antibacterial mechanisms, we further revealed that Ag+ and AgNPs display quite different kinetics for silver-thiol complexation and loss of LPS, with Ag+ displaying fast kinetics and AgNPs displaying slow kinetics. At last, we proposed a hypothesis to interpret the observed different behaviors between Ag+ and AgNPs when interacting with E. coli.  相似文献

A simple and reliable method has been developed to selectively separate and concentrate trace amounts of silver ion from aqueous samples for the subsequent measurement by atomic absorption spectrometry. Ag+ ions are absorbed quantitatively during passage of aqueous samples through an octadecyl-bonded silica membrane disk modified by hexathia-18-crown-6. Almost all matrix elements will pass through the disk to drain. The retained Ag+ ions are then stripped from the disk with a minimal amount of thiosulfate solution as eluent. The proposed method permitted large enrichment factors of about 200 and higher. The limit of detection of the proposed method is 50 ng Ag+ per 1000 mL. The effects of various cationic interferences on the recovery of silver in binary mixtures were studied. The method was applied to the recovery of Ag+ ions from different synthetic and water samples. The title reaction in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) has been followed spectrophotometrically at 325 nm. In the process of reduction, characteristic surface resonance plasmon absorption peaks appear for the silver nanoparticles (NP) and the intensities increase with reaction time. UV–visible spectra suggest that [CTAB] and glutamic acid influence the morphology of the silver NP and act as shape‐directing agents, whereas [Ag+] has no effect. The effects of the total [glutamic acid], [CTAB], and [Ag+] on the apparent rate constants of silver NP formation are determined. The sigmoidal curve of absorbance versus reaction time indicates an autocatalytic path involved in the growth process. The α‐amino and ? COOH groups undergo chemical transformation (oxidative deamination and decarboxylation). The particles are spherical in shape with average diameters ranging between 12 and 25 nm, and their size distribution is wide. A plausible mechanism has been proposed with the following rate law: (d[silver sol])/dt = k[Ag+][Glutamic acid]T. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 44: 680–691, 2012  相似文献

A polystyrene-based membrane of 7,8:16,17-dibenzo-6,9,15,18-tetraoxo-1,5,10,14-tetrathiacyclooctadeca-7,16-diene [Bz2Oxo4(18)dieneS4] was fabricated using sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) and dioctyl phthalate (DOP) as anion excluder and plasticizing agent. The best performance was obtained from the membrane with the composition ionophore [Bz2Oxo4(18)dieneS4]:polystyrene:DOP:NaTPB, 5:100:150:10 (w/w). The response of the electrode was linear over a wide range of concentration, 1.26×10–6–1.00×10–1 mol L−1 for silver ion with a Nernstian slope of 58.4±0.1 mV per decade and a detection limit of 1.0×10−6 mol L−1. The electrode was found to be chemically inert and of adequate stability with a response time of 10 s and could be used for a period of 3 months without change of potential. It worked satisfactorily in mixtures containing up to 35% (v/v) non-aqueous content. The proposed membrane sensor had good selectivity for Ag+ over a wide variety of metal ions in the pH range 2.2–8.5. It was successfully used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of silver ion. The electrode was also useful for determination of Ag+ in waste from photographic films.  相似文献

Our group has developed a series of molecular electrocatalysts for hydrogen generation based on triazenido–metal complexes (such as cobalt, copper, etc.). In this paper, we present the electrocatalytic performance of a new dinuclear silver complex, [Ag2(L)2], formed by reaction of the triazenido ligand, 1-[(2-carboxyethyl)benzene]-3-[benzimidazole]triazene (HL) with AgNO3. The electrocatalytic systems based on this silver complex can afford 91.23 and 473 moles of hydrogen per mole of catalyst per hour (mol H2/mol catalyst/h) from acetic acid at overpotential (OP) of 991.6 mV and an aqueous buffer at an OP of 837.6 mV, respectively. Electrochemical investigations show both the silver center and the triazenido ligand, HL, play important roles in determining the catalytic activities of the electrocatalytic system. Additionally, the triazenido ligand (HL) can serve as a fluorescent sensor for Ag+.  相似文献

The possibility to use the monoionic Ag+-form (eventually Hg+- and Hg2+- forms) of clinoptilolite of domestic origin for radioactive iodide elimination from waters has been studied. The capacity of the monoforms of clinoptilolite towards iodide exceeds many times that of the capacity of clinoptilolite in natural form. Due to the low solubility product of AgI, Hg2I2 and HgI2 iodides generate precipitates on the zeolite surface. Rtg analyses of the silver form of clinoptilolite after sorption of iodide demonstrate the formation of new crystals on the zeolite surface. The influence of interfering anions on the adsorption capacity of silver clinoptilolite towards iodide was investigated, too. Kinetic curves of iodide desorption from the surface of silver and mercury clinoptilolite were compared. Simultaneously, adsorption isotherms for the systems aqueous iodide solution/Ag, Hg-clinoptilolite were determined.  相似文献

The complex formation of silver(I) has been studied with the anions of simple mercaptans RSH which have been rendered soluble by replacing some H in the substituent R by OH. All equilibria constants refer to a solvent of ionic strength μ = 0,1 and 20°C. Monothioglycol HO? CH2? CH2? SH (pK = 9.48) forms an amorphous insoluble mercaptide {AgSR} (s), ionic product [Ag+] [SR?] = 10?19.7. The solution in equilibrium with the solid contains the molecule AgSR at a constant concentration of 10?6.7 M which furnishes the formation constant of the 1:1-complex: K1 = 1013. 0. The solid is soluble in excess of mercaptide (AgSR+SR? → Ag(SR)2?: K2 = 104. 8) as well as in an excess of silver ion (AgSR + Ag+ → Ag2SR+K ≈? 106). With the bulky monothiopentaerythrite (HO? CH2? )3C? CH2? SH (pK = 9.89) no precipitation occurs with silver when the mercaptan concentration is below 10?3. 2M. A single polynuclear Ag10(SR)9+10.9 = 10175) is formed in acidic solutions which breaks up with the formation of Ag2SR+2.1 = 1019.0) when an excess of silver ion is added. Below the mononuclear wall ([RS]total < 10?6) Ag2SR+ is formed via the mononuclear AgSR (K1 = 1013). At higher mercaptan concentrations ([RS]tot > 10?3.2) an amorphous precipitate is formed which has almost the same solubility product as silver thioglycolate ([Ag+] [SR?] = 10?19.1). Apparently silver(I) forms with mercaptans always the complexes Ag2SR+, AgSR and Ag(SR)2?. Above the mononuclear wall, these species condense to chain-like polynuclears which are cations Ag(SRAg)n+ in presence of an excess of Ag+, and anions SR (AgSR)n? when the concentration [RS?] is larger than [Ag+]. Usually n becomes rapidly very large as soon as the condensation starts (n → ∞: precipitate). The decanuclear Ag(SRAg)9+ formed with thiopentaerythrit is somewhat more stable than the shorter chains (n < 9) and larger chains (n > 9), because it can tangle up to a ball by coordination of bridging mercapto-sulfur to the terminal silver ions (figure 12, page 2179). This ball seems to be further stabilized by hydrogen bonds between the many alcoholic OH groups of the substituent R = (HO? CH2)3C? CH2? . The stability of the bonds Ag? S, however, is little influenced by the substituent R which carries the mercaptide sulfure.  相似文献

On the Reaction of Silver with Carbon Dioxide Mechanical activation of metallic silver in a CO2 atmosphere was shown to oxidize the silver. The resulting monovalent silver was found by a wet chemical procedure to be made up of Ag+ ions, while the Ag2CO3 was determined from Debye-Scherrer patterns. During mechanical treatment CO2 and the CO formed are absorbed within the solid. The reaction equation 2 Ag + 2 CO2 ← Ag2CO3 + CO is suggested for the reaction, giving a positive free enthalpy of 212 kJ/mol. This high amount of energy is locally supplied during the mechanical treatment of the metallic silver.  相似文献

A solid-phase extraction method for preconcentration of silver and consequent determination by atomic absorption spectrometry is described. The method is based on the retention of silver on sulfur modified with 2-mercaptobenzoxazole. The retained silver is eluted from the column with a thiourea solution and determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The preconcentration conditions such as pH, amount of reagent loaded on sorbent, type of eluent and its volume, flow rate and interfering ions were investigated. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 3–200 ng mL?1 of Ag+ in the initial solution with r = 0.9985. The limit of detection based on 3Sb was 1.0 ng mL?1. The relative standard deviation for ten replicate measurements of 50 and 150 ng mL?1 of Ag+ was 4.1 and 1.4 %, respectively. The method was applied to the determination of silver in radiology film and water samples.  相似文献

The first atomically and structurally precise silver‐nanoclusters stabilized by Se‐donor ligands, [Ag20{Se2P(OiPr)2}12] ( 3 ) and [Ag21{Se2P(OEt)2}12]+( 4 ), were isolated by ligand replacement reaction of [Ag20{S2P(Oi Pr)2}12] ( 1 ) and [Ag21{S2P(Oi Pr)2}12]+ ( 2 ), respectively. Furthermore, doping reactions of 4 with Au(PPh3)Cl resulted in the formation of [AuAg20{Se2P(OEt)2}12]+ ( 5 ). Structures of 3 , 4 , and 5 were determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The anatomy of cluster 3 with an Ag20 core having C 3 symmetry is very similar to that of its dithiophosphate analogue 1 . Clusters 4 and 5 exhibit an Ag21 and Au@Ag20 core of Oh symmetry composed of eight silver capping atoms in a cubic arrangement and encapsulating an Ag13 and Au@Ag12 centered icosahedron, respectively. Both ligand exchange and heteroatom doping result in significant changes in optical and emissive properties for chalcogen‐passivated silver nanoparticles, which have been theoretically confirmed as 8‐electron superatoms.  相似文献

G5.0‐OH PAMAM dendrimers were used to prepare fluorescent silver clusters with weaker ultraviolet irradiation reduction method, in which the molar ratio of Ag+ to PAMAM dendrimers was the key factor to determine the geometry and properties of silver nanoparticles. The results showed that because of G5.0‐OH PAMAM dendrimers as strong encapsulatores, when the molar ratios of Ag+ to PAMAM dendrimers was smaller than 5, the obtained Agn clusters (n<5) had line structures and "molecular‐like" properties, which were highly fluorescent and quite stable in aqueous solution. Whereas when the molar ratios were between 5 and 8, the obtained Agn clusters were 2D structures and their fluorescence was weaker. When the molar ratio was larger than 8, the structure of silver nanoparticles was 3D and no fluorescence was observed from the obtained silver nanoparticles.  相似文献

Effective methods of detection and removal of iodide ions (I) from radioactive wastewater are urgently needed and developing them remains a great challenge. In this work, an Ag+ decorated stable nano-MOF UiO-66-(COOH)2 was developed for the I to simultaneously capture and sense in aqueous solution. Due to the uncoordinated carboxylate groups on the UiO-66-(COOH)2 framework, Ag+ was successfully incorporated into the MOF and enhanced the intrinsic fluorescence of MOF. After adding iodide ions, Ag+ would be produced, following the formation of AgI. As a result, Ag+@UiO-66-(COOH)2 can be utilized for the removal of I in aqueous solution, even in the presence of other common ionic ions (NO2, NO3, F, SO42−). The removal capacity as high as 235.5 mg/g was calculated by Langmuir model; moreover, the fluorescence of Ag+@UiO-66-(COOH)2 gradually decreases with the deposition of AgI, which can be quantitatively depicted by a linear equation. The limit of detection toward I is calculated to be 0.58 ppm.  相似文献

The complexation reactions between K+, Ag+, NH4+, and Hg2+ cations and the macrocyclic ligand, dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6), were studied in ethylacetate (EtOAc)-dimethylformamide (DMF) binary mixtures at different temperatures using the conductometric method. The conductance data show that the stochiometry of all the complexes is 1:1. A non-linear behavior was observed for the variation of log K f of the complexes versus the composition of binary mixed solvents, which was discussed in terms of heteroselective solvation and solvent-solvent interactions in binary solutions. It was found that the stability order of the complexes changes with changing the composition of the mixed solvents. The sequence of stabilities for the K+, Ag+, NH4+, and Hg2+ complexes with DB18C6 in EtOAc-DMF binary solutions (mol. % DMF 25.0) and (mol. % DMF 50.0) at 25°C is (DB18C6-Ag)+ > (DB18C6-K)+ > (DB18C6-Hg)2+ > (DB18C6-NH4)+, but in the cases of pure DMF and a binary solution of EtOAc-DMF (mol. % DMF 75.0) is (DB18C6-K)+ > (DB18C6-Hg)2+ > (DB18C6-Ag)+ ≈ (DB18C6-NH4)+. The values of thermodynamic quantities (ΔH c o, ΔS c o) for these complexation reactions have been determined from the temperature dependence of the stability constants, and the results show that the thermodynamics of the complexation reactions is affected by the nature and composition of the mixed solvents and, in all cases, positive values of ΔS c o characterize the formation of these complexes. In addition, the experimental results show that the values of entropies for the complexation reactions between K+, Ag+, NH4+, and Hg2+ cations and DB18C6 in EtOAc-DMF binary solutions do not change monotonically with the solvent composition.
