Spherically symmetric cosmological models filled with dust (pressure-free fluid) content are analyzed. It has been pointed out that these models are anisotropic (of non-vanishing shear) and inhomogeneous (∂p/ρr ≠ 0), the characteristics related directly to the presence of the free gravitational field. It is demonstrated that when the free gravitational field vanishes these models degenerate to the corresponding Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) models. It is further shown that the energy density of the free gravitational field can be introduced into observational cosmology as a new parameter since it enters into the expansion and deceleration equations, as well as conservation law for total energy, implying that the present Hubble velocity can be reached in a shorter time from the big bang. Finally, the effect of shear on the redshift is also discussed. This paper is dedicated to my teacher Professor V V Narlikar on the occasion of his 81st birthday.  相似文献

Spherically symmetric static cosmological models filled with black-body radiation are considered. The models are isotropic about a central observer but inhomogeneous. It is suggested that the energy density of the free gravitational field, which is coupled to the isotropic radiation energy density, might play an important role in generating sufficient field (vacuum) energy (when converted into thermal energy) and initiate processes like inflation. On the central world line the energy density of the free gravitational field vanishes whereas the proper pressure and density of the isotropic black-body radiation are constants. Further, it is shown that the cosmological constant is no more arbitrary but given in terms of the central pressure and density. Also, at its maximum value the energy density of the free gravitational field is proved to be equal to one third of the combined value of radiation pressure and density.  相似文献

The general dynamical equations for perfect fluid filled spheres with an outward flux of photons are derived. The vital role played by the energy density of the free gravitational field in accelerating photon production has been emphasized. It is pointed out that even when the material energy density is finite, the energy density of the free gravitational field can take infinitely large values resulting in vanishing surface area of the star. A generalized Schwarzschild interior solution with conformally flat geometry but with photon emission has been obtained. It is pointed out that the interior conformal coordinate system bears a strong resemblance to the exterior Krushkal coordinates. It is shown that for spherical star the invariant velocity of the fluid particles, falling towards the centre, is proportional to its radius suggesting that the outer envelopes collapse at a faster rate than the core part. It is shown that the interior radiating solution can be matched with generalized Schwarzchild exterior solution.  相似文献

We report a new formalism to obtain solutions of Einstein-Maxwell’s equations for static spheres assuming the matter content to be a charged perfect fluid of null-conductivity. Defining three new variablesu=4πεr 2,ν=4πpr 2 2 andw=(4π/3)(ρ+ε)r 2 whereε, ρ andε denote respectively energy densities of the electric, matter and free gravitational fields whereasp is the fluid pressure, Einstein’s field equations are rewritten in an elegant form. The solutions given by Bonnor [1], Nduka [2], Cooperstock and De la Cruz [3], Mehra [4], Tikekar [5,6], Xingxiang [7], Patino and Rago [8] are all shown to possess simple relations betweenu, v, andw whereas Pant and Sah’s [9] solution for which all the three functions,u, v, andw are constants is a trivial case of the present formalism, We have presented six new solutions with ε = 2ρ. For the first three solutionsw andu are constants withv as a variable whereas the remaining three solutions satisfy the equation of state for isothermal gas;v =kw =-ku where (i)k is an arbitrary constant but not equal to 1 or 1/3 (ii)k = 1 and (iii)k = 1/3. We also obtained a generalization of Cooperstock and De la Cruz’s [3] solution which is regular for 2ρ > ε but singular for 2ρ ≤ ε.  相似文献

A metric‐free definition of the energy momentum tensor is presented. That definition can be used with any Lagrangian based gravitational theory where the independent variable is a symmetric connection. The case of Hilbert‐Einstein gravitation is treated as an example of such a theory.  相似文献

A suitable derivative of Einstein's equations in the framework of the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity (TEGR) yields a continuity equation for the gravitational energy‐momentum. In particular, the time derivative of the total gravitational energy is given by the sum of the total fluxes of gravitational and matter fields energy. We carry out a detailed analysis of the continuity equation in the context of Bondi and Vaidya's metrics. In the former space‐time the flux of gravitational energy is given by the well known expression in terms of the square of the news function. It is known that the energy definition in the realm of the TEGR yields the ADM (Arnowitt‐Deser‐Misner) energy for appropriate boundary conditions. Here we show that the same energy definition also describes the Bondi energy. The analysis of the continuity equation in Vaidya's space‐time shows that the variation of the total gravitational energy is determined by the energy flux of matter only.  相似文献

Eutectic growth in Al-51.6%wt Ge alloy has been investigated during free fall in a drop tube. With decreasing undercooling ΔT, the microstructural evolution has shown a transition from lamellar eutectic to anomalous eutectic. A maximum cooling rate of 4.2×10^4K/s and undercooling of up to 240K (0.35T_E) are obtained in the experiment. The eutectic coupled zone is calculated on the basis of current eutectic and dendritic growth theories, which covers a composition range from 48%-59% Ge and leans towards the Ge-rich side. The two critical undercoolings for the eutectic transition are ΔT_1^*=101K and ΔT_2^*=178K. When ΔT≤ΔT^*_1, the microstructure for Al-51.6% Ge eutectic shows lamellar eutectic. If ΔT≥ΔT^*_2, the microstructure shows anomalous eutectic. In the intermediate range of ΔT^*_1<ΔT<ΔT^*_2, the microstructure is the mixture of the above two types of eutectics.  相似文献

We extend to higher dimensions an earlier work of Santos regarding junction conditions for a spherical fluid distribution with heat flux and an electromagnetic field. It is observed that the pressure at the surface of distribution does not vanish when the heat flow is present.  相似文献

A new model is proposed to a collapsing radiating star consisting of an isotropic fluid with shear viscosity undergoing radial heat flow with outgoing radiation. In a previous paper we have introduced a function time dependent into the g rr , besides the time dependent metric functions and . The aim of this work is to generalize this previous model by introducing shear viscosity and compare it to the non-viscous collapse. The behavior of the density, pressure, mass, luminosity and the effective adiabatic index is analyzed. Our work is compared to the case of a collapsing shearing fluid of a previous model, for a star with 6 . The pressure of the star, at the beginning of the collapse, is isotropic but due to the presence of the shear the pressure becomes more and more anisotropic. The black hole is never formed because the apparent horizon formation condition is never satisfied. An observer at infinity sees a radial point source radiating exponentially until reaches the time of maximum luminosity and suddenly the star turns off. The effective adiabatic index has a very unusual behavior because we have a non-adiabatic regime in the fluid due to the heat flow.  相似文献

A theory of(N+1)-dimensional gravity is developed on the basis of the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity(TEGR).The fundamental gravitational field variables are the(N+1)-dimensional vector fields, defined globally on a manifold M,and the gravitational field is attributed to the torsion. The form of Lagrangian density is quadratic in torsion tensor. We then give an exact five-dimensional spherically symmetric solution(Schwarzschild(4+1)-dimensions).Finally,we calculate energy and spatial momentum using gravitational energy-momentum tensor and superpotential 2-form.  相似文献

Considering gravitational collapse of Type I matter fields, we prove that, given an arbitrary C2-mass functionM(r, v) and a C1-functionh(r, v) (through the corresponding C1-metric functionν(t, r)), there exist infinitely many choices of energy distribution functionb(r) such that the ’true’ initial data(M, h(r,v)) leads the collapse to the formation of naked singularity. We further prove that the occurrence of such a naked singularity is stable with respect to small changes in the initial data. We remark that though the initial data leading to both black hole (BH) and naked singularity (NS) form a ’big’ subset of the true initial data set, their occurrence is not generic. The terms ’stability’ and ’genericity’ are appropriately defined following the theory of dynamical systems. The particular case of radial pressurep r (r) has been illustrated in details to get a clear picture of how naked singularity is formed and how, it is stable with respect to initial data.  相似文献

An outstanding problem in gravitation theory and relativistic astrophysics today is to understand the final outcome of an endless gravitational collapse. Such a continual collapse would take place when stars more massive than few times the mass of the sun collapse under their own gravity on exhausting their nuclear fuel. According to the general theory of relativity, this results either in a black hole, or a naked singularity — which can communicate with far away observers in the universe. While black holes are (almost) being detected and are increasingly used to model high energy astrophysical phenomena, naked singularities have turned into a topic of active discussion, aimed at understanding their structure and implications. Recent developments here are reviewed, indicating future directions.  相似文献

A simple, geometrical construction is given for three-dimensional spacetimes with negative cosmological constant that contain two particles colliding head-on. Depending on parameters like particle masses and distance, the combined geometry will be that of a particle, or of a black hole. In the black hole case the horizon is calculated. It is found that the horizon typically starts at a point and spreads into a closed curve with corners, which propagate along spacelike caustics and disappear as the horizon passes the particles.   相似文献

The rapid solidification of Al-30%Cu-18%Ag ternary alloy is investigated by using the free fall method. Its solidified microstructure is composed of θ(Al2Cu), α(Al) and ξ(Ag2Al) phases. The liquidus temperature and solidus temperature are determined as 778 and 827 K, respectively. The alloy melt undercooled amounts up to ΔT Max=171 K (0.20T L). Its microstructural evolution is investigated based on the theoretical analysis of undercooling behavior and nucleation mechanics. It is found that the undercooling increases with the decrease of the diameter of the alloy droplet. When ΔT<78 K, the primary θ(Al2Cu) phase of the alloy grows into coarse dendrite. When 78 K⩽ΔT⩽171 K, its refined θ(Al2Cu) phase grows alternatively with α(Al) phase. Once ΔT⩾171 K, its microstructure is characterized by the anomalous (θ+α+ξ) ternary eutectic. The Lemaître and Schwarzschild analytical solutions for a relativistic spherical body of constant density are linked together through the use of the Weyl quadratic invariant. The critical radius for gravitational collapse of an incompressible fluid is shown to vary continuously from 9/8 of the Schwarzschild radius to the Schwarzschild radius itself while the internal pressures become locally anisotropic.  相似文献

We analyze here the gravitational collapse of higher-dimensional charged-Vaidya spacetime. We show that singularities arising in a charged null fluid in higher dimension are always naked violating at least strong cosmic censorship hypothesis (CCH), though not necessarily weak CCH. We show that earlier conclusions on the occurrence of naked singularities in four-dimensional case can be extended essentially in the same manner in 5D case also  相似文献

Following our recent finding [1] that, for the final state of continued spherical gravitational collapse of sufficiently massive bodies, the final gravitational mass of the fluidM ? → 0, we show that for a physical fluid the eventual value of 2M?/R? → 1 rather than 2M?/R?2M?/R? < 1 (the speed of light c = 1 and the gravitational constantG = 1), indicating the approach to a zero-mass black hole. We also point out that, as the final state is approached, the curvature components tend to blow up; also the proper radial distancel and the proper time (measured along a radial worldline) Τ → ∞, indicating that actually the singularity is never attained. We also identify that the final state may correspond to the local 3-speed attaining eitherV = 0 orV → c, even though invariant circumference contraction speedU =dR/dΤ → 0. Nonetheless, at a finite observation epoch, such Eternally Collapsing Objects (ECOs) may have a local speed of collapseV?c and the lab frame speed of collapse may be negligible because of high surface gravitational redshift. However, if quantum back reaction in the strong gravity regime would cause a phase transition of the form pressurep = - ρ, where ρ is the density of the collapsing fluid, it may be possible to have static Ultra Compact Objects (ûCOs) of arbitrary high mass [2]. While supposed Black Holes have no intrinsic magnetic field, ECOs or UCOs are likely to possess strong intrinsic magnetic fields, and we point out that there are already some tentative evidence for existence of such intrinsic magnetic fields in some Black Hole Candidates [3,4]. For the benefit of the readers who may not have gone through Paper I, we also include here the summary of the same. It clearly shows that the central result of Paper I can be derived even without knowing the meaning of the nomenclatureV or without imposing any of property ofV such as whetherV < 1 or not. In addition, we consolidate the same result from other physical considerations too.  相似文献

The gravitational collapse of charged imperfect fluids (including the presence of strings) models the structural evolution of the Universe. The dynamics of a charged cylindrically symmetric spacetime investigates the effects of charge on the rate of gravitational collapse. In this respect, the Einstein–Maxwell equations are formed and solved to obtain the values of the dynamical parameters of the fluid including density, pressure and electric field. These parameters are graphically presented. It was concluded that the string tension effects all the physical parameters of the fluid. Moreover, the density and electric field intensity increases while the fluid’s pressure decreases near the time of singularity formation.  相似文献

We consider a collapsing spherically symmetric inhomogeneous dust cloud in higher dimensional space-time. We show that the central singularity of collapse can be a strong curvature or a weak curvature naked singularity depending on the initial density distribution.  相似文献
