Here we describe the metathesis reactions of a strained eight-membered ring that contains both alkene and alkyne functionality. We find that the alkyne metathesis catalyst produces polymer through a ring-opening alkyne metathesis reaction that is driven by the strain release from the monomer. The strained monomer provides unusual reactivity with ruthenium-based alkene metathesis catalysts. We isolate a discrete trimeric species a Dewar benzene derivative that is locked in this form through an unsaturated cyclophane strap.  相似文献

More widespread, and cost effective, use of soluble transition metal complex asymmetric catalysts would be achieved if highly efficient heterogeneous analogues could be developed. We now report the synthesis of branched/crosslinked poly(tartrate ester)s and their use as heterogeneous ligands for the complexation of Ti(OiPr)4, and use of the resulting insoluble catalysts in the asymmetric epoxidation of a range of trans-allylic alcohols employing t-butylhydroperoxide (tBHP) as the oxidant. Isolated yields of epoxides of up to 80%, with enantiomeric excesses up to 98% have been achieved. Removal and recovery of the polymer catalyst is by simple filtration at the end of reactions. The influence of the ratio of polymer-ligand–titanium, and the polymer backbone molecular architecture on the activity and enantioselectivity of the catalysts has been assessed. Typically polymer branching ratios of 3–11% and a polymer-ligand:titanium ratio of 2:1 yield the optimum results.  相似文献

Density functional theory calculations are reported concerning the dissociative mechanism for alkene metathesis by ruthenium dichloride catalysts, including both bisphosphine and diaminocarbene/phosphine complexes. The calculations use a hierarchy of models, ranging from [(L)(PH(3))Ru(Cl)(2)(CH(2))](L=PH(3) or diaminocarbene) through the larger [(L)(PMe(3))Ru(Cl)(2)(CHPh)] to the "real"[(L)(PCy(3))Ru(Cl)(2)(CHPh)]. Calculations show that the rate-limiting step for metathesis is either ring closing from an alkene complex to form a ruthena-cyclobutane, or ring-opening of the latter intermediate to form an isomeric alkene complex. The higher efficiency of the diaminocarbene based catalysts is due to the stabilization of the formal +iv oxidation state of the ruthenium centre in the metallacycle. This effect is partly masked in the smaller model systems due to a previously unnoticed stereoelectronic effect. The calculations do not reproduce the experimental observation whereby the initiation step, phosphine dissociation, is more energetically demanding and hence slower for the diaminocarbene-containing catalyst system than for the bisphosphine. Further calculations on the corresponding bond energies using a variety of DFT and hybrid DFT/molecular mechanics methods all find instead a larger phosphine dissociation energy for the bisphosphine catalyst. This reversed order of binding energies would in fact be the one expected based on the stronger trans influence of the diaminocarbene ligand. The discrepancy with experiment is small and could have a number of causes which are discussed here.  相似文献

The reactions of [Ru-(=CHR)Cl2(PCy3)2] (1: R = Ph; 1a: R = -CH=CPh2) with silver salts of carboxylic acids afforded new dimeric complexes of the general formula [Ru2(=CHR)2-(R'CO2)2(mu-R'CO2)2(PCy3)2(mu-H2O)] (2: R = Ph, R' = CF3; 3: R = Ph, R' = C2F5; 4: R = -CH=CPh2, R' = CF3; 5: R = Ph, R' = C6F5; 6: R = -CH=CPh2, R' = C6F5; 7: R = -CH=CPh2, R'=CCl3) in good yields. With R' = CF3, C2F5 or CCl3 these complexes are active catalysts for metathesis of acyclic alkenes, including unsaturated fatty acid esters, as well as for ring closing metathesis. The reactivity of these complexes with bases and weak donor solvents has been studied and their half-life times in several media were determined.  相似文献

Light fluorous versions of first- and second-generation Grubbs-Hoveyda metathesis catalysts are introduced. These exhibit the expected reactivity profile, are readily recovered from reaction mixtures by fluorous solid-phase extraction, and can be routinely reused five or more times. The catalysts can be used in a stand alone fashion, or supported on fluorous silica gel.  相似文献

The synthesis of new ruthenium-based catalysts applicable for both homogeneous and heterogeneous metathesis is described. Starting from the Hoveyda-Grubbs first generation (1) and the Hoveyda-Grubbs second generation (2) catalysts the homogeneous catalysts [RuCl((RO)3Si–C3H6–N(R′)–CO–C3F6–COO)(CH–o-O–iPr–C6H4)(SIMes)] (4: R = Et, R′ = H; 5: R = R′ = Me) (SIMes = 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-4,5-dihydroimidazol-2-ylidene) were prepared by substitution of one chloride ligand with trialkoxysilyl functionalized silver carboxylates (RO)3Si–C3H6–N(R′)–CO–C3F6–COOAg (3a: R = Et, R′ = H; 3b: R = R′ = Me). These homogeneous ruthenium-species are among a few known examples with mixed anionic ligands. Exchange of both chloride ligands afforded the catalysts [Ru((RO)3Si–C3H6–N(R′)–CO–C3F6–COO)(CH–o-O–iPr–C6H4)(SIMes)] (9: R = Et, R′ = H; 11: R = R′ = Me) and [Ru((RO)3Si–C3H6–N(R′)–CO–C3F6–COO)(CH–o-O–iPr–C6H4)(PCy3)] (8: R = Et, R′ = H; 10: R = R′ = Me). The reactivity of the new complexes was tested in homogeneous ring-closing metathesis (RCM) of N,N-diallyl-p-toluenesulfonamide and TONs of up to 5000 were achieved. Heterogeneous catalysts were obtained by reaction of 4, 5 and 811 with silica gel (SG-60). The resultant supported catalysts 4a, 5a, 8a11a showed reduced activity compared to their homogenous analogues, but rival the activity of similar heterogeneous systems.  相似文献

Reactions of the bis(pyridine) complex (H2IMes)(Py)2(Cl)2Ru(=CHPh) and fluorous phosphines P(CH2CH2R(fn))3 (n = a, 6; b, 8; c, 10; R(fn) = (CF2)(n-1)CF3) give (H2IMes)(P(CH2CH2R(fn))3)(Cl)2Ru(=CHPh) (2a-c, 64-73%), which are analogs of Grubbs' second generation catalyst and effective alkene metathesis catalysts under organic monophasic and fluorous/organic biphasic conditions. The latter give rate accelerations, which are believed to arise from phase transfer of the dissociated fluorous phosphine.  相似文献

The synthesis and heterogenization of new Grubbs-Hoveyda type metathesis catalysts by chlorine exchange is described. Substitution of one or two chlorine ligands with trifluoroacetate and trifluoromethanesulfonate was accomplished by reaction of [RuCl(2)([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (IMesH(2) = 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-4,5-dihydroimidazol-2-ylidene) with the silver salts CF(3)COOAg and CF(3)SO(3)Ag, respectively. The resulting compounds, [Ru(CF(3)SO(3))(2)([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (1), [RuCl(CF(3)SO(3))([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (2), and [Ru(CF(3)CO(2))(2)([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (3) were found to be highly active catalysts for ring-closing metathesis (RCM) at elevated temperature (45 degrees C), exceeding known ruthenium-based catalysts in catalytic activity. Turn-over numbers (TONs) up to 1800 were achieved in RCM. Excellent yields were also achieved in enyne metathesis and ring-opening cross metathesis using norborn-5-ene and 7-oxanorborn-5-ene-derivatives. Even more important, 3 was found to be highly active in RCM at room temperature (20 degrees C), allowing TONs up to 1400. Heterogeneous catalysts were synthesized by immobilizing [RuCl(2)([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] on a perfluoroglutaric acid derivatized polystyrene-divinylbenzene (PS-DVB) support (silver form). The resulting supported catalyst [RuCl(polymer-CH(2)-O- CO-CF(2)-CF(2)-CF(2)-COO)([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (5) showed significantly reduced activities in RCM (TONs = 380) compared with the heterogeneous analogue of 3. The immobilized catalyst, [Ru(polymer-CH(2)-O-CO-CF(2)-CF(2)-CF(2)-COO)(CF(3)CO(2))([double bond]CH-o-iPr-O-C(6)H(4))(IMesH(2))] (4) was obtained by substitution of both Cl ligands of the parent Grubbs-Hoveyda catalyst by addition of CF(3)COOAg to 5. Compound 4 can be prepared in high loadings (160 mg catalyst g(-1) PS-DVB) and possesses excellent activity in RCM with TONs up to 1100 in stirred-batch RCM experiments. Leaching of ruthenium into the reaction mixture was unprecedentedly low, resulting in a ruthenium content <70 ppb (ng g(-1)) in the final RCM-derived products.  相似文献

A new propene production route from 1-butene metathesis has been developed on heterogeneous 10WO3/Al2O3-HY catalysts with different HY contents. It is found that the catalysts play bi-functionally first for the isomerization of 1-butene to 2-butene and then for the cross-metathesis between 1-butene and 2-butene to propene and 2-pentene. The combination of HY zeolite and Al2O3 is prerequisite for the production of propene. The propene yield keeps increasing with the HY content in the range of 10–70 wt%, where 10WO3/Al2O3-70HY exhibits the highest propene yield. The MS-H2-TPR and MS-O2-TPO characterizations indicate that the increase of HY content in the catalysts weakens the interaction between W species and supports, whereas enhance the probability of coking on the metal species and acid sites.  相似文献

Alkane metathesis can be performed by using well-defined silica-supported alkene metathesis catalyst precursors as long as the coordination sphere of the metal centre contains both alkyl and alkylidene groups, such as in [([triple chemical bond]SiO)Mo([triple chemical bond]NAr)(=CHtBu)(CH2tBu)]. This system transforms mainly linear alkanes, from propane to hexane, into their lower and higher homologues. Mechanistic studies clearly show that alkene metathesis is a key step of this reaction and also suggest that this system is a single-site single-component system, namely, alkenes are formed and transformed on one site, which is in contrast to that observed with a mixture of catalysts.  相似文献

The copolymerization of both high- and low-strain cyclic olefins employing three ruthenium-based metathesis catalysts is desribed. The effect of the ligand environment as well as the nature of the carbene on the copolymerizations is discussed.  相似文献

Herein we describe the catalytic activity of 1, a well-defined Re alkylidene complex supported silica, in the reaction of olefin metathesis. This system is highly active for terminal and internal olefins with initial rates up to 0.7 mol per mol Re per s. It also catalyses the self-metathesis of methyl oleate (MO) without the need of co-catalysts. The turnover numbers can reach up to 900 for MO, which is unprecedented for a heterogeneous Re-based catalyst. Moreover the use of silica as a support can bring major advantages, such as the possibility to use branched olefins like isobutene, which are usually incompatible with alumina-based supports; therefore, the formation of isoamylene from the cross-metathesis of propene and isobutene can be performed. All these results are in sharp contrast to what has been found for other silica- or alumina-supported rhenium oxide systems, which are either completely inactive (silica system) or typically need co-catalysts when functionalised olefins are used. Finally the initiation step corresponds to a cross-metathesis reaction to give a 3:1 mixture of 3,3-dimethylbutene and trans-4,4-dimethylpent-2-ene, and make this catalyst the first generation of well-defined Re-based heterogeneous catalysts.  相似文献

Terminally vinyl-functionalized polyisobutylene (PIB) oligomers can be easily transformed into end-functionalized PIB-bound Ru metathesis catalysts. The nonpolar catalysts so prepared can be used as solutions in heptane and recycled by a gravity-based extraction after addition of a heptane-immiscible polar solvent. This paper describes the synthesis and the recycling of a PIB-supported second-generation Hoveyda-Grubbs catalyst for Ru-catalyzed ring-closing metathesis and ring-opening metathesis polymerizations.  相似文献

Allylic hydroxy phosphonates and their derivatives can be interconverted by using cross metathesis with second generation Grubbs catalyst. The absolute stereochemistry of the starting phosphonate is conserved in the product. Cross metathesis reaction of the acrolein-derived phosphonate 2a yields a series of functionalized allylic hydroxy phosphonates. However, the cross metathesis reaction is often accompanied by competing dimerization and alkene migration reactions leading to a reduction in yield. The cinnamaldehyde- and crotonaldehyde-derived phosphonates 2b and 2c were also examined. In general, the metathesis reactions of phosphonates 2b and 2c are considerably slower than those for phosphonate 2a leading to mixtures. Several hydroxyl-protected derivatives of the phosphonate 2a (methyl carbonate 3a, acetate 4a, N-tosyl carbamate 5a, TBDMS 6a, and acetoacetate 7a) undergo metathesis without competing side reactions to give substituted allylic phosphonates in good to excellent yield.  相似文献

The reaction of Mo(N)(CH2tBu)3 (1) and SiO2-(700) generates (SiO)Mo(NH)(CHtBu)(CH2tBu) (2) when performed in C6H6 (material [1/SiO2-(700)]C6H6). The grafting occurs presumably by protonation of the nitrido ligand to form an intermediate (SiO)Mo(NH)(CH2tBu)3 (3), a pentacoordinated complex, which decomposes into 2 and 2,2-dimethylpropane. While [1/SiO2-(700)]C6H6 is highly active in olefin metathesis, [1/SiO2-(700)]CH2Cl2 and [1/SiO2-(700)]THF are poorly active or inactive catalysts respectively. In contrast, when Mo(N)(CH2tBu)3 reacts with a molecular silanol derivative, a soluble model of the surface of SiO2-(700), it yields a very stable complex, (c-C5H9)7Si7O12SiO-Mo(NH)(CH2tBu)3 (3m), which does not spontaneously generate 2,2-dimethylpropane and an alkylidene complex in contrast to the surface complex. Moreover, 3m does not catalyse olefin metathesis at room temperature as it does not already contain the initiating carbene ligand, and it is necessary to heat up the reaction mixture to 110 °C to obtain low catalytic activity. Nevertheless, the complex 3m generates well-defined metallocarbenes when heated in the presence of PMe3: (c-C5H9)7Si7O12SiO-Mo(N)(CHtBu)(P(CH3)3)2 (4m) as a 10:1 mixture of its syn and anti rotamers with the loss of 2 equiv. of 2,2-dimethylpropane.  相似文献

This review is devoted to the recent advances in the preparation of immobilised metalloporphyrins and their use as heterogeneous catalysts for alkene epoxidation. The wide range of supports, nature of attachments, and metalloporphyrins that have been reported is detailed and a comparison is made between the activities of the resulting catalysts in the epoxidation of different alkenes. The important issue of recyclability of the metalloporphyrins is also covered.  相似文献
