注入噪声对光纤激光器锁模启动的影响   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1       下载免费PDF全文
 从掺镱光纤激光器腔内的激光场出发,讨论了掺镱光纤激光器腔内的噪声信号对锁模启动的影响,并针对我们设计的8字腔超短脉冲光纤激光器进行了研究。通过对激光器腔内锁模过程的分析发现:在泵浦功率为214.75 mW时,自行研制的8字形腔掺Yb3+光纤激光器在未注入噪声信号时,输出端在30~50 s内获得稳定的锁模脉冲激光输出;在腔内注入脉宽30 ns,频率10 kHz,平均功率0.2 mW的脉冲噪声后,输出端在1~2 s内获得同样稳定的锁模脉冲激光输出。实验结果表明,注入激光器谐振腔内一定的噪声信号,可加速锁模的启动。  相似文献

设计并搭建了被动全光同步的全保偏光纤激光系统,该系统能够长时稳定输出时域精确同步的双色超快脉冲。被动同步系统包含两台基于非线性放大环形镜锁模的掺铒与掺镱全保偏光纤激光振荡器,采用主从注入式整体结构,借助注入脉冲在从激光谐振腔中引入的非对易非线性相移,获得了自适应同步的锁模脉冲输出。通过优化主激光注入脉冲能量和从激光器腔内滤波带宽等实验参数,获得了长达26 mm的腔长失配容忍度。该脉冲同步系统具有结构简单、即插即用、稳定性好、保偏输出等优点。  相似文献

报道了激光二极管泵浦、采用半导体可饱和吸收镜(SESAM)实现的Nd:GdVO4连续被动锁模运转激光器,得到了较大功率输出(接近1 W)的连续锁模激光.设计了四镜z型折叠激光谐振腔,在不同曲率半径的腔镜及不同的腔长条件下,分别获得了重复频率为250 MHz和100 MHz的稳定连续锁模脉冲输出.采用透过率1%的输出耦合镜,在泵浦功率为6.9 W时,得到连续锁模激光输出功率970 mW,光-光转换率达到13.7%.理论上讨论了调Q锁模的抑制措施,并结合实验结果进行了分析,得到了1063 nm稳定连续锁模激光输出,锁模脉冲光谱宽度1.2 nm(FWHM),用自相关仪测得脉宽为15.1 ps.  相似文献

为了增大皮秒注入种子激光的能量,获得较高的激光放大效率和信噪比,关键是要在保持较高的平均锁模激光功率下实现连续波锁模激光器的低重复频率运转。通过选取五镜折叠激光谐振腔腔型和参数设计,克服了随着腔长增加损耗加大而导致的激光锁模不稳定的困难。分析了较长腔长条件下工作物质和SESAM光斑尺寸的大小和变化,及其对激光器稳定性的影响。由于SESAM饱和工作和稳态条件的能量要求,在激光谐振腔调整过程中,对应臂长的光程互补变化。实验中采取腔长和晶体热控制方式,优化了激光谐振腔的工作参数,实现了脉冲能量10.7 nJ,重复频率56 MHz,平均功率1.2 W的SESAM连续波锁模激光输出。  相似文献

为了实现对锁模飞秒钛宝石激光器的相位控制,采用改进的相移测量装置,使载波包络频移信号的信噪比提高到了40 dB以上.在此优化测量结果的基础上,利用电子锁相环技术,通过PZT改变激光器腔内端镜的倾斜将飞秒激光脉冲的载波包络相位锁定到了微波参考源TV-Rb钟10 MHz标准信号上,同时激光脉冲重复频率也采用另一个PZT控制激光腔长锁定到了同一个TV-Rb钟10 MHz信号上.锁定后的结果显示重复频率的锁定达到了TV-Rb钟本身的稳定度,而载波包络相位锁定后比锁定前稳定度提高了三个数量级.  相似文献

针对常规连续激光泵浦钛宝石激光振荡器不能自启动锁模的缺点,采用倍频飞秒光纤激光同步泵浦,通过调节振荡器腔长与泵浦腔长匹配,实现了飞秒钛宝石激光的自启动锁模。实验中采用3.4 W的倍频掺镱光纤激光同步泵浦钛宝石激光振荡器,获得了平均功率大于130 mW、重复频率75 MHz、光谱宽度大于47 nm、脉冲宽度17 fs的锁模脉冲输出,不仅能够稳定可靠地实现自启动锁模,解决了常规钛宝石激光振荡器锁模启动的困难,而且还具有同步输出1040,800,520 nm三束飞秒激光的特点,为进一步开展飞秒激光相干合成以及光参量放大等研究提供了优势基础。  相似文献

The discovery of a novel phase‐locked frequency comb generated from a monolithic laser with the concurrent processes of self‐mode locking (SML) and stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) is reported. It is experimentally shown that the width of the Raman gain can be exploited to considerably expand the frequency comb of a monolithic SML crystal laser via the SRS process. At a pump power of 6.5 W, an output power of 140 mW in the Stokes wave with a pulse width as narrow as 2.9 ps at a pulse repetition rate of 6.615 GHz is obtained. The present finding not only provides useful insights into the monolithic intracavity SRS process but also paves the way for generating mode‐locked pulses based on monolithic self‐Raman crystals.  相似文献

Detailed investigations of the spatiotemporal and spectral emission properties of a high power diode laser are presented. The AR coated laser diode with design wavelength of 940 nm is driven in an external resonator. The laser generates up to 340 mW average output power in a train of picosecond pulses with durations of 25 ps and repetition rates of 2.6 GHz. The mechanism of mode locking is discussed as self pulsation because of the strong correlation between round trip time and repetition rate. The quality and pulse compression of the 60 GHz millimeter wave signals generated by 750 μm long InAlGaAs Multi Quantum Well (MQW) passively mode locked laser under free running and optical self-injection locked conditions are experimentally characterized in terms of longitudinal modes under certain bias currents that range from 24 mA to 90 mA. Initially, the MQW laser is characterized in free running condition with no external injection. The measurements reflect that the free spectral range of laser under test is around 61 GHz and exhibit more than 22 lasing modes. The laser is then integrated into low phase noise self-injection locking oscillator by feeding a part of output RF signal back into the laser cavity to enhance passive mode locking. By doing so the microwave line width of our laser is reduced from 900 kHz to 24 kHz with significant increase in output of resultant beat tones which exhibits strong passive mode locking. This is the first time that the free running microwave line width of MQW laser is reduced up to this level. It is evident from our experimental investigation that as we increase the power and phase correlation between different longitudinal modes inside laser cavity through optical self-injection, the strength of the passively mode locked mechanism is significantly increased and the phase noise of radio frequency signal is drastically reduced.  相似文献

We analyze a doubly-resonant type II phase-matched optical parametric oscillator that includes an intracavity waveplate for inducing mutual injection locking between the signal and the idler. The intracavity waveplate provides a linear coupling between the normally orthogonally polarized signal and idler fields and allows for mode locking at frequency degeneracy. Under mode locked conditions the signal–idler phase difference is locked and the optical parametric oscillator becomes self-phase locked. The signal–idler phase can be adjusted by changing the operating point within the locking range. Two self-phase locked modes with different thresholds and signal–idler phases are possible. Characteristics of the self-phase locked regime are presented for different linear coupling strengths.  相似文献

We demonstrate the generation of high-energy pulses by using a low-repetition-rate Kerr-lens mode-locked laser. Repetition rates as low as 4 MHz were achieved with a long, multiple-pass cavity and a semiconductor saturable Bragg reflector. The laser generated pulses of 55-fs duration with a pulse energy of 48 nJ when it was mode locked in the net negative dispersion regime. Mode locking in the positive dispersion regime reduces instabilities and enables pulses to have durations of 80 fs and energies as high as 90 nJ. This is, to our knowledge, the highest pulse energy and the lowest repetition rate ever generated directly from a femtosecond laser resonator without cavity dumping.  相似文献

A diode pumped passively mode locked Nd:CaYAlO4 (Nd:CYA) laser is demonstrated for the first time to the authors' knowledge. Using a V-shaped cavity and a semiconductor saturable absorbing mirror (SESAM), self-started mode locking of the laser is experimentally achieved. The mode-locked pulses are as short as 3.9 ps at a central wavelength of 1080.2 nm. The mode-locked laser produced a maximum average output power of 2.25 W with a slope efficiency of 23.2%.  相似文献

A comprehensive study on the output power, the modulation response, and the relative intensity noise (RIN) behavior of an optically injection‐locked mid‐infrared quantum‐cascade laser reveals that the modulation bandwidth and the output power are enhanced in the stable locking range, while the RIN of the slave laser is a superposition of the master and slave noise sources. Since the RIN level of the master laser can even take the lead, a design procedure is introduced to improve the main characteristics of a free‐running laser, including the RIN, the photon lifetime, the modulation bandwidth, and the bias current, using facet reflectivity tailoring. A figure of merit is defined and the RIN reduction of about 20 dB Hz?1 is obtained for very low injection powers compared with the injection‐locked system before the design of master laser.  相似文献
