CRITICAL EXPONENTS AND CRITICAL DIMENSIONS FOR NONLINEAR ELLIPTIC PROBLEMS WITH SINGULAR COEFFICIENTS

Let B1 ■ RNbe a unit ball centered at the origin. The main purpose of this paper is to discuss the critical dimension phenomenon for radial solutions of the following quasilinear elliptic problem involving critical Sobolev exponent and singular coefficients:-div(|▽u|p-2▽u) = |x|s|u|p*(s)-2u + λ|x|t|u|p-2u, x ∈ B1,u|■B1= 0,where t, s -p, 2 ≤ p N, p*(s) =(N+s)p N-pand λ is a real parameter. We show particularly that the above problem exists infinitely many radial solutions if the space dimension N p(p- 1)t + p(p2- p + 1) and λ∈(0, λ1,t), where λ1,t is the first eigenvalue of-△p with the Dirichlet boundary condition. Meanwhile, the nonexistence of sign-changing radial solutions is proved if the space dimension N ≤(ps+p) min{1,p+t p+s}+p2p-(p-1) min{1,p+t p+s}and λ 0 is small.     

EXISTENCE OF POSITIVE SOLUTIONS FOR A CLASS OF PARABOLIC EQUATIONS WITH NATURAL GROWTH TERMS AND L^1 DATA

We study a class of nonlinear parabolic equations of the type:b(u)t- div a(x, t, u)▽u + g(u)|▽u|2= f,where the right hand side belongs to L1(Q), b is a strictly increasing C1-function and-div(a(x, t, u)▽u) is a Leray-Lions operator. The function g is just assumed to be continuous on R and to satisfy a sign condition. Without any additional growth assumption on u, we prove the existence of a renormalized solution.     

Multiplicity of solutions of weighted (p,q)-Laplacian with small source

In this article, we study the existence of infinitely many solutions to the degenerate quasilinear elliptic system-div(h_1(x)|▽u|~(p-2)▽u)=d(x)|u|~(r-2)u+G_u(x,u,v) in Ω,-div(h_2(x)|▽u|~(p-2)▽v)=f(x)|v|~(s-2)v + G_u(x,u,v) in Ω,u=v=0 on ■Ω where Ω is a bonded domain in R~N with smooth boundary ■Ω,N≥2,1 r p ∞,1 s q ∞; h_1(x) and h_2(x) are allowed to have "essential" zeroes at some points inΩ; d(x)|u|~(r-2)u and f(x)|v|~(s-2)v are small sources with Gu(x,u,v), Gv(x,u,v) being their high-order perturbations with respect to(u,v) near the origin, respectively.

EXISTENCE OF NONTRIVIAL SOLUTIONS FOR GENERALIZED QUASILINEAR SCHRDINGER EQUATIONS WITH CRITICAL OR SUPERCRITICAL GROWTHS

In this paper,we study the following generalized quasilinear Schrdinger equations with critical or supercritical growths-div(g~2(u)▽u) + g(u)g′(u)|▽u|~2+ V(x)u = f(x,u) + λ|u|~(p-2)u,x∈R~N,where λ0,N≥3,g:R → R~+ is a C~1 even function,g(0) = 1,g′(s) ≥ 0 for all s ≥ 0,lim_(|s|→+∞)g(s)/|s|~(α-1):= β 0 for some α≥ 1 and(α-1)g(s) g′(s)s for all s 0 and p ≥α2*.Under some suitable conditions,we prove that the equation has a nontrivial solution for smallλ 0 using a change of variables and variational method.

一类双重退化抛物方程局部解的存在性

This paper deals with a class of doubly degenerate parabolic equations, including as particular cases the porous medium equation and the degenerate p- Laplace equation(p＞2) u_t-div(b(x,t,u)|▽u|~(p-2)▽u)=f(x,u,t). The initial-boundary value problem in a bounded domain of R~N is considered under mixed boundary conditions.The existence of local-in-time weak solutions is obtained.     

Degenerate Nonlinear Elliptic Equations Lacking in Compactness

In this paper, the authors prove the existence of solutions for degenerate elliptic equations of the form-div(a(x)▽_p u(x)) = g(λ, x, |u|~(p-2)u) in R~N, where ▽_pu =|▽u|~(p-2)▽u and a(x) is a degenerate nonnegative weight. The authors also investigate a related nonlinear eigenvalue problem obtaining an existence result which contains information about the location and multiplicity of eigensolutions. The proofs of the main results are obtained by using the critical point theory in Sobolev weighted spaces combined with a Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg-type inequality and by using a specific minimax method, but without making use of the Palais-Smale condition.     

MULTIPLICITY RESULTS FOR FOURTH ORDER ELLIPTIC EQUATIONS OF KIRCHHOFF-TYPE

In this paper, we concern with the following fourth order elliptic equations of Kirchhoff type {△2u- a+b∫R3|▽u|2dx △u+V(x)u=f(x, u), x∈ R3,u∈H2(R3),wherea, b 0 are constants and the primitive of the nonlinearityfis of superlinear growth near infinity inuand is also allowed to be sign-changing. By using variational methods, we establish the existence and multiplicity of solutions. Our conditions weaken the AmbrosettiRabinowitz type condition.

EXISTENCE AND NONEXISTENCE OF GLOBAL SOLUTIONS OF THE INITIAL-BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM FOR SOME DEGENERATE HYPERBOLIC EQUATION

The author considers the global existence and global nonexistence of the initial-boundary value problem for some degenerate hyperbolic equation of the form utt- div(|▽u|p-2▽u)= |u|mu, (x,t) ∈ [0, ∞) ×Ωwith p ＞ 2 and m ＞ 0. He deals with the global solutions by D.H.Sattinger's potential well ideas. At the same time, when the initial energy is positive, but appropriately bounded,the global nonexistence of solutions is verified by using the analysis method.     

COMPREHENSIVE CONSIDERATION OF THE NEW PERIODIC SOLUTION OF THE NONLINEAR SCHRDINGER EQUATION

THE REGULARITY OF QUASI-MINIMA AND ω-MINIMA OF INTEGRAL FUNCTIONALS

In this article, we have two parts. In the first part, we are concerned with the locally Hlder continuity of quasi-minima of the following integral functional ∫Ωf(x, u, Du)dx, (1) where Ω is an open subset of Euclidean N-space (N ≥ 3), u:Ω→ R,the Carath′eodory function f satisfies the critical Sobolev exponent growth condition |Du|p* |u|p*-a(x) ≤ f(x,u,Du) ≤ L(|Du|p+|u|p* + a(x)), (2) where L≥1, 1pN,p* = Np/N-p , and a(x) is a nonnegative function that lies in a suitable Lp space. In the second part, we study the locally Hlder continuity of ω-minima of (1). Our method is to compare the ω-minima of (1) with the minima of corresponding function determined by its critical Sobolev exponent growth condition. Finally, we obtain the regularity by Ekeland’s variational principal.     

EXISTENCE OF INFINITELY MANY SOLUTIONS FOR ELLIPTIC PROBLEMS WITH CRITICAL EXPONENT

This paper is concerned with the following nonlinear Dirichlet problem:{-Δpu=|u|^p*-2 u λf(x,u) x∈Ω；u=0 x∈эΩ} whereΔp^u = div(|∧u|^p-2∧u) is the p-Laplacian of u,Ω is a bounded in R^n(n≥3），1＜p＜n, p=pn/n-p is the critical exponent for the Sobolev imbedding,λ＞0 and f(x,u)satisfies some conditions. It reaches the conclusion that this problem has infinitely many solutions. Some results as p=2 or f(x,u) = |u|^q-2 u, where 1＜q＜p, are generalized.     

A Remark on the Existence of Entire Large and Bounded Solutions to a(k_1, k_2)-Hessian System with Gradient Term

In this paper, we study the existence of positive entire large and bounded radial positive solutions for the following nonlinear system{S_k_1(λ(D_(u1)~2)) + a_1(|x|) |▽_(u_1) |~(k_1)= p_1(|x|) f_1(u_2) for x ∈ R~N,S_k_2(λ(D_(u_2)~2)) + a_2(|x|) |▽_(u2) |~(k_2)= p_2(|x|) f_2(u_1) for x ∈ R~N.Here S_k_i(λ(D_(u_i)~2) is the k_i-Hessian operator, a_1, p_1, f_1, a_2, p_2 and f_2 are continuous functions.
