Supercritical carbon dioxide and superheated water (subcritical water above 100 °C under pressure) have both been used to extract the buds of cloves (Syzygium aromaticum). The yields of eugenol and eugenyl acetate obtained by these methods and also by steam distillation and liquid solvent (Soxhlet) extraction are similar, but the yields of caryophyllene were lower for the methods using water. Strontium (Sr(2+)) can be selectively extracted from aqueous solutions into supercritical fluid CO(2) at 60 °C and 100 atm with dicyclohexano-18-crown-6 (DC18C6) using CF(3)(CF(2))(6)CO(2) (-) (PFOA(-)) or CF(3)(CF(2))(6)CF(2)SO(3) (-) (PFOSA(-)) as a counter anion; at a mole ratio of Sr(2+) : DC18C6 : PFOA(-) = 1:10:50, the extraction of Sr (5.6 × 10(-5) M) from water at pH 3 is near quantitative whereas Ca(2+) and Mg(2+) at equal concentration are only extracted to a level of 7 and 1%, respectively; PFOSA(-) is an effective counter anion for selective extraction of Sr(2+) from 1.3 M HNO(3) with DC18C6 in supercritical CO(2).  相似文献

A mixture of Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EPHA) and n-hexane or methanol is used as the extractant solution for extracting cobalt from activated carbon using supercritical carbon dioxide extraction technology. In this work, a semi-continuous pilot unit of SFE is employed to conduct the extraction. In order to feed the viscous extractant by HPLC pump, n-hexane or methanol is added as a diluent to reduce the viscosity of the extractant. The amount of cobalt removed along the time course of the extraction is recorded and plotted as an extraction curve. A kinetic model is also established and fit to the extraction curve, and the obtained parameters of the model are used to explain the regeneration mechanism. The effects of temperature ranged from?40 to?80?°C and the effect of the concentration of diluents on the extraction are investigated and discussed based on the established model. It is also found that the removal of cobalt ions reaches a maximum; this varies with the operational conditions and is known as maximum removal efficiency. It is presumed that the maximum removal efficiency is affected by the adsorption kinetics of the extractant and the rate of ion exchange between the extractant and metal ions on the surface of the activated carbon. After increasing the extraction temperature from?60 to?80?°C it is observed that the maximum removal efficiency is greatly increased, presumably resulting from the diminishing competitive adsorption between the extractant and diluents. The established model can help to reveal the extraction mechanism and to promote maximum removal efficiency for regenerating activated carbon without secondary pollution.  相似文献

A polarity test mix consisting of acetophenone, N,N-dimethylaniline, naphthalene, 2-naphthol, and n-tetracosane was spiked onto sand and extracted with carbon dioxide modified with acetonitrile, methanol, or toluene. The extracts were collected in chloroform, hexane, methanol, or a mixed collection solvent consisting of equal parts chloroform-hexane-methanol. The mixed collection solvent which showed excellent recoveries for pure CO2, had the worst recoveries of all the collection solvents with modified CO2. Overall hexane was the best collection solvent studied for these analytes under these extraction conditions.  相似文献

The extraction of a coal-tar pitch with supercritical carbon dioxide was performed under optimal pressure, flow rate, and three different constant temperatures. The extraction kinetics was examined for each temperature and it was surprisingly found that the extraction rate of most components was governed by the first-order kinetics. It was assumed that this deviation from typical models of supercritical fluid extraction kinetics was caused by high pitch concentrations and low solubilities of the components.  相似文献

Capillary supercritical fluid chromatography has been directly coupled with supercritical fluid extraction using modified carbon dioxide. The mixed fluids were prepared with a single pump on-line mixing system. The most important step in the SFE-SFC interface was the elimination of the modifier solvent. This was achieved by use of a coupled trap, 0.1 mm i.d. and 0.53 mm i.d. capillary tubing connected in series, with the collected solutes refocused on the second (0.53 mm i.d.) trap before transfer into the separation column. This enabled complete elimination of various modifier solvents and high efficiency collection of the solutes. The effect of the modifier on trapping efficiency was investigated using methanol, ethanol, dichloromethane, hexane, and toluene at a variety of concentrations. n-Eicosane was, for example, trapped quantitatively by modified carbon dioxide containing up to 13 % (w/w) methanol. The use of the technique has been demonstrated by selective extraction of n-paraffins, fatty acid methyl esters, and alcohols from a silica matrix; the effect of different modifiers on the extraction of a mixture of pesticides from soil has also been investigated.  相似文献

Summary Norflurazon and Oxadixyl residues have been analysed by HRGC-ECD after extraction from field-treated sugar cane and grapes using classical solid-liquid extraction or supercritical fluid extraction. The extraction techniques were compared; the results indicate the advantages of SFE as an alternative method for analysis of pesticides in these samples.  相似文献

An on-line supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) system coupled to a continuous flow manifold including a UV detector was used as a screening system to extract astaxanthin from crayfish, which was found to be the major carotenoid present in the samples. This compound constitutes the principal additive used to dye salmon flesh. The flow manifold was used to confirm the presence of astaxanthin in the crustacean samples. Also, an HPLC/UV-vis method was used to ascertain that this compound was the major carotenoid extracted under the optimum SFE conditions employed. The influence of SFE operating variables such as pressure, temperature, equilibration time, extraction time, trap temperature, and volume of CO2 modifier was examined in order to maximize the efficiency of analyte extraction. The use of supercritical CO2 enables the expeditious, selective, quantitative extraction of astaxanthin from crustaceans.  相似文献

In the extraction of spiked PCB from soil, three extracting fluids were investigated: supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2), supercritical sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) and subcritical water. Among the tested fluids SF6 appeared to be appropriate especially for the extraction of low polar PCB. CO2 and water were found to be suitable for the quantitative extraction of all PCB. Water was judged as the best because of its low price, good availability and environmental safety.  相似文献

Biomass is considered as the most sustainable and renewable resource for the synthesis of value added potential platform chemicals. Various techniques are utilized to extract or to pre-treat or to isolate various value added chemicals from biomass. Pre-treatment of the biomass is a very essential aspect to enhance the biomass processing yield which is attributed to reduced lignin content/delignification, cellulose crystallinity and hemi-cellulose hydration. In search of efficient extraction and processing for biomass treatment, supercritical fluid (SCF) has been considered as the green technique to obtain the value added chemicals with higher efficiency than conventional technique. The use of the supercritical carbon dioxide (SC–CO2) pre-treatment on biomass not only enhances glucose yield effectively but also delignify, hydrolyse hemi-cellulose component and allows extraction of various compounds from the biomass. However, very limited research articles are available for the use of SC-CO2 for biomass processing to obtain value-added chemicals. In view of this, the present review article focus on the recent advances of applications of SC-CO2 in (i) extraction of value added chemicals from biomass processing, (ii) biomass pre-treatment, (iii) factors affecting SC-CO2 processing efficiency, (iv) scale-up scenario (v) challenges and opportunities in this field.  相似文献

Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of essential oil from Pimpinella anisum, using carbon dioxide as a solvent is presented in this work. An orthogonal array design OA9 (3(4)) was applied to select the optimum extraction condition. The effects of pressure, temperature, dynamic extraction time and methanol volume on the extraction efficiency were investigated by the three-level orthogonal array design. Results show that pressure has a significant effect on the extraction efficiency. The extract obtained from P. anisum by using supercritical fluid extraction was compared with the essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation, considering both quantity and quality of the product. SFE products were found to be of markedly different composition, compared with the corresponding hydrodistilated oil. The total amount of extractable substances obtained in SFE (7.5%) is higher than that obtained by hydrodistillation (3.1%) and SFE is faster than hydrodistillation method.  相似文献

The reactions of methylenecyclopropanes (MCPs) and epoxides with alcohols and aromatic amines can be carried out in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) or modified scCO2 with perfluorocarbon which offer a way to synthesize various alcohols, amino-alcohols, homoallylic ethers, and amines under an environmentally benign condition.  相似文献

Viscosity curves were measured for polydimethyl siloxane (PDMS) melts swollen with dissolved carbon dioxide at 50 and 80°C for shear rates ranging from 40 to 2300 s−1, and for carbon dioxide contents ranging from 0 to 21 wt %. The measurements were performed with a capillary extrusion rheometer modified for sealed, high-pressure operation to prevent degassing of the melt during extrusion. The concentration-dependent viscosity curves for these systems are self-similar in shape, exhibiting low-shear rate Newtonian plateau regions followed by shear-thinning “power-law” regions. Considerable reduction of viscosity is observed as the carbon dioxide content is increased. Classical viscoelastic scaling methods, employing a composition-dependent shift factor to scale both viscosity and shear rate, were used to reduce the viscosity data to a master curve at each temperature. The dependence of the shift factors on polymer chain density and free volume were investigated by comparing the shift factors for PDMS-CO2 systems to those obtained by iso-free volume dilutions of high molecular weight PDMS. This comparison suggests that the free volume added to PDMS upon swelling with dissolved carbon dioxide is the predominant mechanism for viscosity reduction in those systems. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Superheated water extraction has been linked directly to a superheated water chromatographic separation so that the process of sample extraction and separation can be achieved without the need for organic solvents at any stage. A model matrix spiked with pharmaceuticals and antioxidants was extracted and the extracted components were collected on a cold polystyrene-divinylbenzene trap. The analytes were then sequentially released by raising the temperature in stages. Each fraction was passed on-line to a polystyrene divinylbenzene analytical column and was eluted with superheated water using a thermal gradient.  相似文献
