We consider the integrability properties of a generalized version of a similarity reduction of the so-called KdV6 equation, an equation that has recently generated much interest. We give a linear problem for this generalized reduction and show that it satisfies the requirements of the Ablowitz-Ramani-Segur algorithm. In addition we give a Bäcklund transformation to a related equation, giving also an auto-Bäcklund transformation for this last. Our results mirror those for the Korteweg-de Vries equation itself, which has a similarity reduction to an ordinary differential equation which is related by a Bäcklund transformation to the second Painlevé equation, this last having an auto-Bäcklund transformation.  相似文献

We consider a discrete classical integrable model on a three-dimensional cubic lattice. The solutions of this model can be used to parameterize the Boltzmann weights of various three-dimensional spin models. We find the general solution of this model constructed in terms of the theta functions defined on an arbitrary compact algebraic curve. Imposing periodic boundary conditions fixes the algebraic curve. We show that the curve then coincides with the spectral curve of the auxiliary linear problem. For a rational curve, we construct the soliton solution of the model.  相似文献

We establish that the kinematic constraints on the steady planar motion of an ideal fiber-reinforced fluid can be consolidated in a single third-order nonlinear equation. Remarkably, this equation admits a solitonic reduction related to the classical sine-Gordon equation. We use a symmetry approach to solve the classification problem for integrable N-component evolution systems having the form of conservation laws. In this paper, we investigate the space-time fractional symmetric regularized long wave equation. By using the Bäcklund transformations and nonlinear superposition formulas of solutions to Riccati equation, we present infinite sequence solutions for space-time fractional symmetric regularized long wave equation. A new system is generated from a multi-linear form of a (2+1)-dimensional Volterra system. Though the system is only partially integrable and needs additional conditions to possess two-soliton solutions, its (1+1)-dimensional reduction gives an integrable equation which has been studied via reduction skills. Here, we give this (1+1)-dimensional reduction a simple bilinear form, from which a Bäcklund transformation is derived and the corresponding nonlinear superposition formula is built.  相似文献

It is shown that the intrinsic determining equations of a given differential-difference equation (DDE) can be derived by the compatibility between the original equation and the intrinsic invariant surface condition. The (2+1)-dimensional Toda lattice, the special Toda lattice and the DD-KP equation serving as examples are used to illustrate this approach. Then, Bäcklund transformations of the (2+1)-dimensional DDEs including the special Toda lattice, the modified Toda lattice and the DD-KZ equation are presented by using the non-intrinsic direct method. In addition, the Clarkson-Kruskal direct method is developed to find similarity reductions of the DDEs.  相似文献

The Painlevé differential equations (P2-P6) possess Bäcklund transformations which relate one solution to another solution either of the same equation, with different values of the parameters, or another such equation. We review a method for deriving difference equations, the discrete Painlevé equations in particular, from Bäcklund transformations of the continuous Painlevé equations. Then, we prove the existence of an algebraic formula relating three inconsecutive solutions of the same Bäcklund hierarchy for P3 and P4.  相似文献

Frobenius integrable decompositions are presented for a kind of ninth-order partial differential equations of specific polynomial type. Two classes of such partial differential equations possessing Frobenius integrable decompositions are connected with two rational Bäcklund transformations of dependent variables. The presented partial differential equations are of constant coefficients, and the corresponding Frobenius integrable ordinary differential equations possess higher-order nonlinearity. The proposed method can be also easily extended to the study of partial differential equations with variable coefficients.  相似文献

A Bäcklund transformation (BT), which involves both independent and dependent variables, is established and studied for the short pulse (SP) equation. Based it, the nonlinear superposition formulae for 2-, 3-, and 4-BT are presented. The general result for the composition of -BTs is achieved and given in terms of determinants. As applications, various solutions including loop solitons, breather solutions, and their interaction solutions are worked out.  相似文献

Hierarchies of evolution equations of pseudo-spherical type are introduced, thereby generalizing the notion of a single equation describing pseudo-spherical surfaces due to S.S. Chern and K. Tenenblat, and providing a connection between differential geometry and the study of hierarchies of equations which are the integrability condition of sl(2,R)-valued linear problems. As an application, it is shown that there exist local correspondences between any two (suitably generic) solutions of arbitrary hierarchies of equations of pseudo-spherical type.  相似文献

The two-dimensional Toda lattice equation with self-consistent sources is proposed based on its bilinear forms. Casoratian-type solutions and Bäcklund transformation (BT) for the bilinear forms are presented. Starting from the BT, a Lax pair is derived for the 2D Toda lattice with self-consistent sources.  相似文献
