For any set X and any relation ρ on X, let T(X,ρ) be the semigroup of all maps a:XX that preserve ρ. Let S(X) be the symmetric group on X. If ρ is reflexive, the group of automorphisms of T(X,ρ) is isomorphic to NS(X)(T(X,ρ)), the normalizer of T(X,ρ) in S(X), that is, the group of permutations on X that preserve T(X,ρ) under conjugation. The elements of NS(X)(T(X,ρ)) have been described for the class of so-called dense relations ρ. The paper is dedicated to applications of this result.  相似文献

Consider an algebraic semigroup S and its closed subscheme of idempotents, E(S). When S is commutative, we show that E(S) is finite and reduced; if in addition S is irreducible, then E(S) is contained in a smallest closed irreducible subsemigroup of S, and this subsemigroup is an affine toric variety. It follows that E(S) (viewed as a partially ordered set) is the set of faces of a rational polyhedral convex cone. On the other hand, when S is an irreducible algebraic monoid, we show that E(S) is smooth, and its connected components are conjugacy classes of the unit group.  相似文献

Let AR be rings containing the rationals. In R let S be a multiplicatively closed subset such that 1∈S and 0∉S, T a preorder of R (a proper subsemiring containing the squares) such that ST and I an A-submodule of R. Define ρ(I) (or ρS,T(I)) to be
ρ(I)={aR|sa2m+tI2m for some mN,sS and tT}.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring. The total graph of R, denoted by T(Γ(R)) is a graph with all elements of R as vertices, and two distinct vertices x,yR, are adjacent if and only if x+yZ(R), where Z(R) denotes the set of zero-divisors of R. Let regular graph of R, Reg(Γ(R)), be the induced subgraph of T(Γ(R)) on the regular elements of R. Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring and Z(R) is not an ideal. In this paper we show that if T(Γ(R)) is a connected graph, then . Also, we prove that if R is a finite ring, then T(Γ(R)) is a Hamiltonian graph. Finally, we show that if S is a commutative Noetherian ring and Reg(S) is finite, then S is finite.  相似文献

Let M be a compact, connected, orientable, irreducible 3-manifold and T0 an incompressible torus boundary component of M such that the pair (M,T0) is not cabled. By a result of C. Gordon, if (S,∂S),(T,∂T)⊂(M,T0) are incompressible punctured tori with boundary slopes at distance Δ=Δ(∂S,∂T), then Δ?8, and the cases where Δ=6,7,8 are very few and classified. We give a simplified proof of this result (or rather, of its reduction process), using an improved estimate for the maximum possible number of mutually parallel negative edges in the graphs of intersection of S and T. We also extend Gordon's result by allowing either S or T to be an essential Klein bottle.  相似文献

We prove Sobolev-type p(⋅)→q(⋅)-theorems for the Riesz potential operator Iα in the weighted Lebesgue generalized spaces Lp(⋅)(Rn,ρ) with the variable exponent p(x) and a two-parametrical power weight fixed to an arbitrary finite point and to infinity, as well as similar theorems for a spherical analogue of the Riesz potential operator in the corresponding weighted spaces Lp(⋅)(Sn,ρ) on the unit sphere Sn in Rn+1.  相似文献

Let X* be a free monoid over an alphabet X and W be a finite language over X. Let S(W) be the Rees quotient X*/I(W), where I(W) is the ideal of X* consisting of all elements of X* that are not subwords of W. Then S(W) is a finite monoid with zero and is called the discrete syntactic monoid of W. W is called finitely based if the monoid S(W) is finitely based. In this paper, we give some sufficient conditions for a monoid to be non-finitely based. Using these conditions and other results, we describe all finitely based 2-limited words over a three-element alphabet. Furthermore, an explicit algorithm is given to decide that whether or not a 2-limited word in which there are exactly two non-linear letters is finitely based.  相似文献

PP-Rings of Generalized Power Series   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
Abstract As a generalization of power series rings, Ribenboim introduced the notion of the rings of generalized power series. Let R be a commutative ring, and (S, ≤) a strictly totally ordered monoid. We prove that (1) the ring [[R S,≤]] of generalized power series is a PP-ring if and only if R is a PP-ring and every S-indexed subset C of B(R) (the set of all idempotents of R) has a least upper bound in B(R) and (2) if (S, ≤) also satisfies the condition that 0 ≤s for any sS, then the ring [[R S,≤ ]] is weakly PP if and only if R is weakly PP. A ring R is called right zip if the right annihilator r R (S) of a subset S of R is zero, r R (X)=0 for a finite subset X of S. In this note we will prove that for any u.p.-monoid M a right uniform ring R is right zip if and only if the monoid ring R[M] is right zip.  相似文献

We obtain an existence result for global solutions to initial-value problems for Riccati equations of the form R′(t) + TR(t) + R(t)T = Tρ A(t)T1?ρ + Tρ B(t)T1?ρ R(t) + R(t)TρC(t) T1?ρ + R(t)TρD(t)T1?ρ R(t), R(0)=R0, where 0 ? ρ ? 1 and where the functions R and A through D take on values in the cone of non-negative bounded linear operators on L1 (0, W; μ). T is an unbounded multiplication operator. This problem is of particular interest in case ρ = 1 since it arisess in the theories of particle transport and radiative transfer in a slab. However, in this case there are some serious difficulties associated with this equation, which lead us to define a solution for the case ρ = 1 as the limit of solutions for the cases 0 < ρ < 1.  相似文献

An ideal I of a ring R is called normal if all idempotent elements in I lie in the center of R. We prove that if I is a normal ideal of an exchange ring R then: (1) R and R/I have the same stable range; (2) V(I) is an order-ideal of the monoid C(Specc(R), N), where Specc(R) consists of all prime ideals P such that R/P is local.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the relation between the lower topology respectively the Lawson topology on a product of posets and their corresponding topological product. We show that (1) if S and T are nonsingleton posets, then Ω(S×T)=Ω(SΩ(T) iff both S and T are finitely generated upper sets; (2) if S and T are nontrivial posets with σ(S) or σ(T) being continuous, then Λ(S×T)=Λ(SΛ(T) iff S and T satisfy property K, where for a poset L, Ω(L) means the lower topological space, Λ(L) means the Lawson topological space, and L is said to satisfy property K if for any xL, there exist a Scott open U and a finite FL with xU⊆↑F.  相似文献

For a commutative ring R with set of zero-divisors Z(R), the zero-divisor graph of R is Γ(R)=Z(R)−{0}, with distinct vertices x and y adjacent if and only if xy=0. In this paper, we show that Γ(T(R)) and Γ(R) are isomorphic as graphs, where T(R) is the total quotient ring of R, and that Γ(R) is uniquely complemented if and only if either T(R) is von Neumann regular or Γ(R) is a star graph. We also investigate which cardinal numbers can arise as orders of equivalence classes (related to annihilator conditions) in a von Neumann regular ring.  相似文献

In an atomic, cancellative, commutative monoid S, the elasticity of an element provides a coarse measure of its non-unique factorizations by comparing the largest and smallest values in its set of factorization lengths (called its length set). In this paper, we show that the set of length sets \({\mathcal {L}}(S)\) for any arithmetical numerical monoid S can be completely recovered from its set of elasticities R(S); therefore, R(S) is as strong a factorization invariant as \({\mathcal {L}}(S)\) in this setting. For general numerical monoids, we describe the set of elasticities as a specific collection of monotone increasing sequences with a common limit point of \(\max R(S)\).  相似文献

We study a new monoid structure for Artin groups associated with finite Coxeter systems. Like the classical positive braid monoid, the new monoid is a Garside monoid. We give several equivalent constructions: algebraically, the new monoid arises when studying Coxeter systems in a “dual” way, replacing the pair (W,S) by (W,T), with T the set of all reflections; geometrically, it arises when looking at the reflection arrangement from a certain basepoint. In the type A case, we recover the monoid constructed by Birman, Ko and Lee.  相似文献

For a monoid S, the set S × S equipped with the componentwise right S-action is called the diagonal act of S and is denoted by D(S). A monoid S is a left PP (left PSF) monoid if every principal left ideal of S is projective (strongly flat). We shall call a monoid S left P(P) if all principal left ideals of S satisfy condition (P). We shall call a monoid S weakly left P(P) monoid if the equalities as = bs, xb = yb in S imply the existence of r ∈ S such that xar = yar, rs = s. In this article, we prove that a monoid S is left PSF if and only if S is (weakly) left P(P) and D(S) is principally weakly flat. We provide examples showing that the implications left PSF ? left P(P) ? weakly left P(P) are strict. Finally, we investigate regularity of diagonal acts D(S), and we prove that for a right PP monoid S the diagonal act D(S) is regular if and only if every finite product of regular acts is regular. Furthermore, we prove that for a full transformation monoid S = 𝒯 X , D(S) is regular.  相似文献

Given a regular epimorphism f:X?Y in an exact homological category C, and a pair (U,V) of kernel subobjects of X, we show that the quotient (f(U)∩f(V))/f(UV) is always abelian. When C is nonpointed, i.e. only exact protomodular, the translation of the previous result is that, given any pair (R,S) of equivalence relations on X, the difference mappingδ:Y/f(RS)?Y/(f(R)∩f(S)) has an abelian kernel relation. This last result actually holds true in any exact Mal'cev category. Setting Y=X/T, this result says that the difference mapping determined by the inclusion T∪(RS)?(TR)∩(TS) has an abelian kernel relation, which casts a new light on the congruence distributive property.  相似文献

We introduce a new method of proof for R = T theorems in the residually reducible case. We study the crystalline universal deformation ring R (and its ideal of reducibility I) of a mod p Galois representation ρ 0 of dimension n whose semisimplification is the direct sum of two absolutely irreducible mutually non-isomorphic constituents ρ 1 and ρ 2. Under some assumptions on Selmer groups associated with ρ 1 and ρ 2 we show that R/I is cyclic and often finite. Using ideas and results of (but somewhat different assumptions from) Bellaïche and Chenevier we prove that I is principal for essentially self-dual representations and deduce statements about the structure of R. Using a new commutative algebra criterion we show that given enough information on the Hecke side one gets an R = T-theorem. We then apply the technique to modularity problems for 2-dimensional representations over an imaginary quadratic field and a 4-dimensional representation over Q.  相似文献

Let M be a commutative atomic monoid (i.e. every nonzero nonunit of M can be factored as a product of irreducible elements). Let ρ(x) denote the elasticity of x ∈ M, R(M) = {ρ(x) | x ∈ M} the set of elasticities of elements in M, and ρ(M) = sup R(M) the elasticity of M. Define \overline{ρ}(x) = limn→∞ ρ(xn) to be the asymptotic elasticity of x. We determine some basic properties of the function \overline{ρ} and determine its image for certain block monoids.  相似文献
