Given the anomalous magnetic moments of electrons and positrons in the one-loop approximation, we calculate the exact Lagrangian of an intense constant magnetic field that replaces the Heisenberg-Euler Lagrangian in traditional quantum electrodynamics (QED). We have established that the derived generalization of the Lagrangian is real for arbitrary magnetic fields. In a weak field, the calculated Lagrangian matches the standard Heisenberg-Euler formula. In extremely strong fields, the field dependence of the Lagrangian completely disappears and the Lagrangian tends to a constant determined by the anomalous magnetic moments of the particles.  相似文献

We present a general theorem for the force multipole moments of arbitrary order induced in a spherically symmetric particle immersed in a fluid whose motion satisfies the linear Navier-Stokes equation for steady incompressible viscous flow. The multipole moments are expressed in terms of the unperturbed fluid velocity field. It is shown that for a particle with a finite extension only a few terms give rise to fluid perturbations which are not confined to the interior of the particle. We give explicit results for a polymer satisfying the Debye-Bueche-Brinkman equations and for a hard sphere with mixed slip-stick boundary conditions.  相似文献

We have investigated the forced diffusion of magnetic nanoparticles suspended in a carrier liquid under the influence of a magnetic field gradient. A cylindrical layer of the suspension was exposed to an azimuthal magnetic field with radial gradient. The radial distribution of the concentration of magnetic particles was determined for different times. The obtained experimental data are compared with a numerical solution of the diffusion equation and good agreement has been observed.  相似文献

The mode coupling contribution to the transverse transport coefficients of a three-dimensional one-component plasma in a strong external magnetic field is calculated. For very strong fields it is found that the tagged particle diffusion rate, the thermal diffusion rate, and the coefficient of viscosity in the plane orthogonal to the field have a Bohm-like B –1 behavior. The mode coupling mechanism responsible for such an effect is always one that involves the finite-frequency upper hybrid modes.  相似文献

It is shown that a magnetic field acting on an ultrarelativistic charged particle escaping from a conductor changes the intensity of transient radiation. The angular and frequency distribution of transient radiation in the magnetic field is determined. The possibility of determining the energy of the ultrarelativistic particle from the change in the azimuthal asymmetry of transient radiation emitted by this particle in the magnetic field is discussed.  相似文献

A study is made of the scattering of a plane linearly polarized electromagnetic wave by an electron in a magnetic field. The cross section of the process is obtained separately for the and components of the polarization of the incident and scattered waves. A passive tracer on the surface of an incompressible liquid behaves like a tracer in two-dimensional compressible flows, whose characteristic feature is the formation of cluster structures, i.e., compact regions of increased density surrounded by vast low-density regions. The cluster formation dynamics are studied, and statistical spatiotemporal characteristics of the density fields, which faithfully reflect the properties of the cluster structures, are calculated. We have derived an equation for the probability density of the magnetic energy in a random Gaussian, delta-correlated in time, divergent velocity field in the absence of molecular diffusion effects. Basic statistical characteristics of the energy have been calculated using this equation. Based on the ideas of statistical topography, we have studied the processes of magnetic field amplification in space and, in particular, the conditions for the formation of a cluster structure. These phenomena are coherent, occur with a probability equal to unity, and, hence, manifest themselves almost in all individual realizations of the process. The clustering effect is demonstrated with an exact solution for the magnetic field dynamics for the simplest model of a random divergent velocity field.  相似文献

A supersymmetric formalism is used to rederive a recent beautiful result of Wegner concerning the density of state of an electron gas in the presence of a strong magnetic field and impurities. The derivation is simple and applicable to any (local) distribution of scatterers. Explicit formulae are given in two dimensions. A Poisson distribution of scatterers leads to an interesting condensation phenomenon when the magnetic field is increased.  相似文献

In this paper we have extended our earlier studies of solutions of Einstein-Cartan equations to the case where a magnetic field co-exists with the matter distribution. We have obtained an exact solution of Einstein-Cartan-Maxwell equations representing a static cylinder of perfect fluid with an axial magnetic fieldH and a non-zero spin densityK, satisfying the equation of stateρ=γ(p r +p s H 2/4π),γ being a constant. We notice that as a consequence of field equations there exists a direct relation between the pressurep, and the spin densityK, indicating that an increase in pressure would enormously increase the spin density.
