Brauer algebras arise in representation theory of orthogonal or symplectic groups. These algebras are shown to be iterated inflations of group algebras of symmetric groups. In particular, they are cellular (as had been shown before by Graham and Lehrer). This gives some information about block decomposition of Brauer algebras.

We prove that if a (?/n?)-graded Lie algebra L = ? i=0 n?1 L i has d nontrivial components L i and the null component L 0 has finite dimension m, then L has a homogeneous solvable ideal of derived length bounded by a function of d and of codimension bounded by a function of m and d. An analogous result holds also for the (?/n?)-graded Lie rings L = ? i=0 n?1 with few nontrivial components L i if the null component L 0 has finite order m. These results generalize Kreknin’s theorem on the solvability of the (?/n?)-graded Lie rings L = ? i=0 n?1 L i with trivial component L 0 and Shalev’s theorem on the solvability of such Lie rings with few nontrivial components L i . The proof is based on the method of generalized centralizers which was created by E. I. Khukhro for Lie rings and nilpotent groups with almost regular automorphisms of prime order [1], as well as on the technique developed in the work of N. Yu. Makarenko and E. I. Khukhro on the almost solvability of Lie algebras with an almost regular automorphism of finite order [2].  相似文献

We develop a new method to deal with the Cancellation Conjecture of Zariski in different environments. We prove the conjecture for free associative algebras of rank two. We also produce a new proof of the conjecture for polynomial algebras of rank two over fields of zero characteristic.

Abstract

Dickson’s commutative semifields are an important class of finite division algebras. We generalize Dickson’s construction over any base field by doubling not just finite field extensions (which would correspond to the classical setup), but also central simple algebras. The latter case yields division algebras which are no longer commutative nor associative. We compute their automorphisms.  相似文献

A structure of a left-symmetric algebra on the set of all derivations of a free algebra is introduced such that its commutator algebra becomes the usual Lie algebra of derivations. Left and right nilpotent elements of left-symmetric algebras of derivations are studied. Simple left-symmetric algebras of derivations and Novikov algebras of derivations are described. It is also proved that the positive part of the left-symmetric algebra of derivations of a free nonassociative symmetric m-ary algebra in one free variable is generated by one derivation and some right nilpotent derivations are described.  相似文献

Using Casimir elements, we characterize the semisimple Lie algebras among the quadratic Lie algebras. This characterization gives, in particular, a generalization of a consequence of Cartan's second criterion.

We prove that the pure global dimension of a polynomial ring over an integral domain k in a finite or countable number n?2 of commuting (non-commuting, resp.) variables is t + 1, provided |k| = ?t. In this paper we define and study some quasi-hereditary covers for higher zigzag algebras of type A. We show how these algebras satisfy three different Koszul properties: they are Koszul in the classical sense, standard Koszul and Koszul with respect to the standard module Δ, according to the definition given in [24]. This last property gives rise to a well defined duality and we compute the Δ-Koszul dual as the path algebra of a quiver with relations.  相似文献

After reformulating the representation theory of 0-Hecke algebras in an appropriate family of Yang-Baxter bases, we investigate certain specializations of the Ariki-Koike algebras, obtained by setting q=0 in a suitably normalized version of Shoji's presentation. We classify the simple and projective modules, and describe restrictions, induction products, Cartan invariants and decomposition matrices. This allows us to identify the Grothendieck rings of the towers of algebras in terms of certain graded Hopf algebras known as the Mantaci-Reutenauer descent algebras, and Poirier quasi-symmetric functions. We build a connection between iterated tilted algebras with trivial cluster tilting subcategories and tilted algebras of finite type.Moreover,all tilted algebras with cluster tilting subcategories are determined in terms of quivers.As a result,we draw the quivers of Auslander’s 1-Gorenstein algebras with global dimension 2 admitting trivial cluster tilting subcategories,which implies that such algebras are of finite type but not necessarily Nakayama.  相似文献
